Outdoor Movie Series hosts a free Jaws screening on the river

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Rock Town River Outfitters, and Rock City Yacht Club will be partnering together to host a free screening of one of the original horror/thriller movies, Jaws.

This free screening will take place on the Arkansas River, where they will be able to enjoy the film from a kayak.

Kayaks can be reserved for free through Rock Town River Outfitters, or participants can bring their own.

There is also available space for those who do not want to watch from the river, as there will be a dock where chairs can be set up.

There will be drinks available for purchase, and free popcorn courtesy of the Residences at Harbortown.

The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. on October 9 at the Rock City Yacht Club, but participants should get there early, as seating and kayaks are limited.

This is a public and free event open to all. Kayaks can be reserved here , but participants must be 13 or older.

Paramount shared a trailer for Apartment 7A , the prequel to ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ featuring Julia Garner and directed by Natalie Erika James.

Apartment 7A focuses on Terry Gionoffrio (Garner), an aspiring dancer in New York City who suffers an injury and moves into a luxury apartment building in 1965 called the Bramford with an affluent couple (Wiest and McNally). After a Broadway producer (Sturgess) offers her a path to fame, Terry has an evening she can’t quite remember and suspects that something evil inhabits her apartment and the building itself.  An official synopsis reading: “However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.”  

The cast of ‘Apartment 7A’ also includes Dianne Wiest, Kevin McNally, Jim Sturgess, Marli Siu, Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. The film was inspired by Ira Levin’s Rosemary’s Baby and offers viewers a glimpse of the Bramford prior to Rosemary’s arrival.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 28, 2024, 7-10 p.m., and get ready to unwind with the smooth rock rhythms of Camel City Yacht Club ! Head to the scenic lawn of the old Energy United Administration Building at 317 Sanford Avenue in downtown Mocksville for a free evening of music, good vibes, and fun.

Formed in March 2020, this talented group of five seasoned musicians is dedicated to delivering the best smooth rock sounds from the golden age of music. Yacht Rock is a smooth and breezy blending of soft rock, jazz, R&B, and soul crafted into a laid-back, sophisticated sound that’s perfect for cruising along the coastline or unwinding with a cocktail in hand. Think of artists like Toto, Michael McDonald, and Steely Dan. It’s a performance you won’t want to miss!

Before the Show
