Below Deck 's Daisy Kelliher Says She's 'Over the Trauma' of Choppy Romance with Colin MacRae (Exclusive)
The Bravo stars chatted exclusively with PEOPLE at BravoCon 2023 and addressed whether there's still any lingering tension between them
Dave Quinn is a Senior Editor for PEOPLE. He has been working at the brand since 2016, and is the author of the No. 1 New York Times best-selling book, Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of the Real Housewives from the People Who Lived It.
Lanford Beard is the former Senior TV Editor at PEOPLE. She worked at the brand from 2015 through 2024.
Daisy Kelliher and Colin MacRae 's short-lived boatmance that turned toxic seems to be water under the bridge for the Bravo stars.
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht exes chatted with PEOPLE at BravoCon 2023 about where they stand now after their long-simmering connection led to a steamy hookup that warped into dramatic love triangle involving their friend and fellow yachtie Gary King .
While the 36-year-old chief stewardess understands that her and MacRae's move from friends to exes "seems fresh to everybody else," she notes that that their attempt to make a go of things off the boat "was actually a long time ago."
She affirms, "I have laid that to bed. I got over the trauma and moved on from it."
MacRae, 34, has similar feelings: "It’s just something we have to deal with any hopefully move on from."
The chief engineer did admit he "was nervous to see Daisy" at the convention in Las Vegas this weekend since they hadn't spoken "since before the reunion" was taped this summer.
"It put a huge strain on our friendship, first and foremost," he admits. "We were such good friends before we started to get romantically involved with each other, and a lot of it happened between the seasons as well, so coming back and working together after some of that stuff went down — it was a lot. It was a lot to deal with, for sure."
For Kelliher, though, she's focused on powering through and doing her job.
"I like to think that I’m professional and for me, as much as that came into our lives on boats, that’s what yachting is," she told PEOPLE. "I would always put my profession before those relationships. So I’m OK. I’m professional, I can work with an ex."
