Les Voiles d'Antibes

The start of the season for many classic sailing yachts and a big celebration of yachting.

Organized at the very beginning of the season, Les Voiles d'Antibes welcomes each year, a selection of the most beautiful  classic yachts (built before 1976), including the Metrics (6, 8, 10, 12 and 15mIJ...), who have shaped since the end of the 19th century, the great history of Yachting.

For most participants, this prestigious gathering represents the first major event of the Mediterranean season . The spring returned, the boats joined their ports of attachment in the Mediterranean. Some have been renovated and upgraded to optimize their performance, others have been sold or have changed crews.

This year Les Voiles d'Antibes has invited big boats and the Schooners of the International Schooner Association, such as Puritan, Orianda, Invader, Atlantic and many others.

Appreciated for the quality of its regattas (Match-Race for the metric class and coastal courses, along the 23 km of coastline between the bays of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins for the other classes) and for the great conviviality when back in port, Les Voiles d'Antibes is undoubtedly one of the flagship events of the Mediterranean circuit.

But in the purest tradition of Yachting , Les Voiles d'Antibes is also 5 days of entertainment and conviviality, when back in port.  Organized around a village designed on the theme of celebration and conviviality. Antibes, famous all over the world for its Jazz festival, had of course to associate music with sailing. With every day from 9:00 to 22:00 many exhibitions and events on the themes of the Sea and the Environment but also cocktails, concerts, parades and many other surprises and challenges that every night bring joy and joy. the ‘Village des Voiles’ and Port Vauban, is the start of the season for all classic sailing yachts in Europe.

The 26th edition of Les Voiles d’Antibes will take place at Port Vauban from 15 to 19 September 2021, to be held on regatta dates between the Classic Week in Monaco and the Régates Royales in Cannes.

Since 1996, the Voiles d’Antibes has been an important event that hosts the finest vintage yachts (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (built before 1976), Espirit de Tradition yachts as well as Metric classes.

The event comprises match racing and coastal regattas between Antibes and Juan les Pins, with a convivial atmosphere on land at the Event Village.

Show Location

Due to the large-scale renovation and construction works at Port Vauban, the Bastion Saint-Jaume zone where the show is normally held will not be available for the next 3 years.

It has been decided to relocate the classic yacht berths and the Village Exhibition stands to the Môle Sud of Port Vauban (Quai des évades de Guerre).  The festival zone with catering and entertainment will be located at the boules pitch by the port.  See map below.

Transport & Accessibility

The underground car park at Pré aux Pêcheurs at the port is likely to be busy.  Ensure you check the exit times for Antibes’ car parks to avoid lock ins!  Other car parking can be found at Q-Park Jean-Marie Poirier and Q-Park Frères Olivier.

If you’re arriving by bus or train, bear in mind that public transport after 9pm is quite limited.  You can check timetables for local Antibes buses at www.envibus.fr and the regional train schedules are found here: https://www.ter.sncf.com/sud-provence-alpes-cote-d-azur

Taxis are available outside the Antibes train station.

The quays at Port Vauban and the entire Village exhibition site is on flat ground and therefore accessible for families with children in baby strollers, as well as persons with reduced mobility.   As yet, I don’t know the availability of accessible toilets at the show – please note, that in the meantime there is one accessible free public toilet near the Ferris wheel (at the entrance to the underground car park), and Felix Café just inside the archway to old town has a ground-level accessible toilet.

Les Voiles d’Antibes attracts a selection of the most beautiful Vintage Yachts, Classic Yachts, and Esprit de Tradition Yachts, including the esteemed Tofinou 9.5. With roots dating back to the late 19th century, these yachts carry the legacy of a bygone era, where values such as fair play, solidarity, and respect were paramount. The event is not just a regatta; it’s a spectacle of elegance and grace on the azure waters of Antibes. Against the backdrop of the French Riviera’s stunning coastline, these majestic yachts glide gracefully, their sails billowing in the breeze, as skilled crews maneuver them through the courses with precision and finesse.

Les Voiles d’Antibes – Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge – Annual Sailing Yacht Regatta

17 May 2016

Les Voiles d’Antibes is an annual gathering of old sailing yachts (vintage yachts, classic yachts, ‘spirit of tradition’ sailboats and International rule, also known as the Metre rule class yachts), created in 1996, which takes place every year on the French Riviera, in June from the Port Vauban of Antibes, Europe’s largest marina.

Just as the Voiles de Saint-Tropez and the Régates Royales in Cannes, Les Voiles d’Antibes is the largest spring gathering for classic yachts in the Mediterranean. During the race, participants will sail boats on coastal courses in the bay of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins.

Never ceasing to grow, Les Voiles d’Antibes are based at the entrance of the Billionaires dock and shadowed under the Old Antibes ramparts. In 20 years, with over 80 participating yachts (reaching a record of 83 yachts in 2014), more than 800 sailors and more than 15,000 visitors every year, Les Voiles d’Antibes became the largest spring gathering for these sailboats and one of the iconic events of the City of Antibes and the entire French Riviera. During those 20 years, the regatta hosted over 270 different yachts with over 5000 teams from 53 different nationalities which participated in more than 70 races, more than 200,000 visitors, more than 1,000 volunteers, more than 50 Official partners and more than 50 music bands.

Indeed, over the years, the identity of the Voiles d’Antibes is built on several themes: competitive racing on suitable courses, festive evenings with nightly free concerts and culture with a dedicated space setting forward artists from all backgrounds.

Les Voiles d’Antibes is a great celebration of yachting:

Since 1996, Les Voiles d’Antibes, held each year around the first week of June, marks the opening of the Mediterranean circuit for the Classic and Tradition Yachts as well as Metre rule Classes and the first stage of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge .

Organized in early season, Les Voiles d’Antibes – Trophée Panerai welcome every year a selection of the finest Vintage Sailing Yachts (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (built before 1976) and Spirit of Tradition Yachts and Metre rule Classes (6 MJI, 8MJI and 12MJI, competing in the America’s Cup from 1958 to 1987), which have shaped, since the late nineteenth century, the great history of International Yachting.

For most participants, this prestigious gathering is the first major event of the Mediterranean season. Spring returned, boats joined their ports of mooring in the Mediterranean. Some have undergone renovations and upgrades to optimize performance; others were sold or changed their crews. This way, the participants are new every year around a core of mythical boats like IKRA, SOVEREIGN, THENDARA, LELANTINA, OUTLAW, ADRIA, CAMBRIA or TUIGA which have long been present in all regattas. Every year, between five and fifteen new vessels appear on the circuit. They come out of recent restorations and renovations. Antibes is the first big regatta of the season, sailors, owners and crews discover them and tell new stories that contribute to the shore party.

Appreciated for the quality of its regattas (Match-Race for Metre rule classes and coastal courses along the 23 km of coastline between the bays of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins for other classes) and the conviviality that reigns back ashore, Les Voiles d’Antibes – Trophée Panerai are undoubtedly one of the main events of the Mediterranean circuit.

But Les Voiles d’Antibes – Trophée Panerai is also in the tradition of yachting, 5 days animation and friendliness back at dockside. The return to port is certainly the warmest of the circuit. Organized around a village designed on the theme of party and conviviality, Antibes, famous worldwide for its Jazz Festival, had to associate music to sailing. With daily events and exhibitions from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the themes of the sea and environment but also cocktails, concerts, fashion shows and many other surprises and challenges bringing every night alive the joy and good mood in the Village des Voiles and Port Vauban , the first marina in Europe.

Passionate about sports yachting and regattas, Allied Yachting will attend this year, like all the previous ones, Les Voiles d’Antibes -Trophée Panerai which will celebrate their 21st Edition and will be held from 1 to 5 June 2016 at the Port Vauban .

For most of the participants, this prestigious gathering represents the initial major meeting of the Mediterranean season. Antibes being the first large regatta of the season, it is an opportunity for all yachtsmen, rookies or experienced sailors, to come and appreciate the purity of the architectural lines of the boats, the deck plans, the harmony of the Gaff and Bermudian rigs and the ballet of the crews preparing their legendary yachts with passion and meticulousness.

Appreciated for the quality of its regattas, along the 23 km of coastline between the bays of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, and for the great conviviality that reigns back on land, Les Voiles d’Antibes are undoubtedly one of the flagship events of the Mediterranean circuit.

Each year, the Village des Voiles d’Antibes opens to the public free of charge, offering an area for meetings and conviviality once back on land. Crews boisterously comment their maneuvers and options, delighting the public, happy to immerse themselves into the nautical culture.

2012 Les Voiles d’Antibes

Les Voiles d’Antibes has just kicked off the Mediterranean’s season of classic yacht regattas, with an impressive field that included 31 vintage yachts built before 1950, 18 classic yachts built before 1975 and a pair of former America’s Cup competitors. At least one participating yacht dated to the late 1800s.

One of the most-watched yachts in the regatta was the 1936 William Fife design Eilean , which MTV fans from the 1980s may remember as the yacht whose bowsprit served as a stage for Duran Duran’s Simon le Bon as he sang the lyrics to “Rio.” That, sadly, was perhaps the greatest modern moment for Eilean , which ended up half-sunk with no mast in English Harbour, Antigua. The yacht was restored at a cost of $3.8 million through Officine Panerai and returned to the public eye at Les Voiles d’Antibes — to cheers all around.

Also eagerly watched this year was the New York 40 Chinook , a 65-foot Bermudan sloop designed by Nathaneal Herreshoff and launched in 1916 for a New York Yacht Club member. She, too, recently completed a full restoration and performed very much like she did during the 1920s and 1930s, when she was active on the racing circuit.

  • The Lead - Bristol - Aug. 29

American Eagle (left) and Courageous speed neck and neck by the Hog Island Lighthouse during the second race.

The 2024 Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta, held Friday, Aug. 23 through Sunday, Aug. 25, looked like it was going to get off to a slow start. Bill Lynn, Executive Director of the Herreshoff Marine Museum, was anchored off Gould Island midday Friday, wondering if the wind was going to fill in enough for the feeder race from Newport to Bristol. Thankfully it did, and Saturday and Sunday too, as forecast. “We got so lucky with the weather,” said Lynn. “We got away with it again.” Following the successful conclusion of the feeder race, competitors and guests enjoyed a Living Boat Show and reception on the Herreshoff docks. More racing followed Saturday and Sunday, with prizes and a barbecue on Saturday evening. “We had five really nice races over three days, really gorgeous, spectacular boats,” said Lynn.

Collision sends American Eagle packing The otherwise great event included one significant low point on Sunday morning when Courageous collided with American Eagle near the middle ground buoy in Bristol Harbor, leaving a roughly 2’ by 4’ gash on Eagle’s port side, forcing Eagle to retire from the race (and the 2024 sailing season.). Friday’s Newport to Bristol feeder race saw Gleam take the top spot in Class 1, while Gamecock won Class 2. With the full fleet assembled for Saturday, boats (and winners) were divided into 6 divisions: Vintage (Gamecock), Classic (American Eagle), Modern Classic (Courageous), Spirit of Tradition (Van Ki Pass), S Class (Aquita), and 15’ Class (Murmer). Sunday’s results are pending the outcome of the protest hearing.

4 April, 2011   / Free travel on new high-speed trains should allay fans' fears about long journey to Ekaterinburg - the most far-flung city on Russia's list of sites for 2018 World Cup. Let's hope the train will not break down in the middle of nowhere.

1 February, 2011   / Today is the 80th anniversary of the birth of Boris Yeltsin, the first president of Russia. President Medvedev today unveiled a monument to Yeltsin in his home city Ekaterinburg. First one in Russia.

History of Yekaterinburg

Foundation of yekaterinburg.

The territory along the Iset River, which served as a convenient transport route from the Ural Mountains deep into Siberia, has long attracted settlers. The oldest of the currently discovered settlements on the territory of present Yekaterinburg was located next to the Palkinsky Stone Tents rock massif and dates back to the 6th millennium BC.

From the 7th-3rd centuries BC, ancient metallurgists who mastered the smelting of copper lived in this settlement. Copper figures of birds, animals, people, arrowheads, various household items were found here. Later they learned how to make iron products. All discovered settlements were destroyed as a result of fires, possibly during raids of the conquerors.

The territory occupied by present Yekaterinburg became part of Russia in the middle of the 17th century. At that time, it had practically no permanent population. The first Russian settlements were founded in the second half of the 17th century. At the beginning of the 18th century, the first ironworks were built here.

In the spring of 1723, by decree of Emperor Peter I, the construction of the largest iron-making plant in Russia began on the banks of the Iset River. Construction began on the initiative of Vasily Tatishchev (a prominent Russian statesman). He was supported by Georg Wilhelm de Gennin (a German-born Russian military officer and engineer), on the initiative of which the fortress plant was named Yekaterinburg in honor of Empress Catherine I (Yekaterina in Russian), the wife of Peter I.

More Historical Facts…

The historic birthday of Yekaterinburg is November 18, 1723. On this day, a test run of the plant equipment was carried out. Its main products included iron, cast iron, and copper. In 1725, the Yekaterinburg Mint began production on the territory of the fortress and became the main producer of copper coins in the Russian Empire. Until 1876, it produced about 80% of the country’s copper coins. In the 1720s, the population of Yekaterinburg was about 4,000 people.

Yekaterinburg - one of the economic centers of the Russian Empire

In the middle of the 18th century, the first ore gold in Russia was discovered in this region, which was the beginning of the gold industry in the country. As a result, Yekaterinburg became the center of a whole system of densely located plants and began to develop as the capital of the mining region, which spread on both sides of the Ural Range.

In 1781, Catherine II granted Yekaterinburg the status of a county town in the Perm Governorate. The population of the town was about 8,000 people. In 1783, the town received a coat of arms depicting an ore mine and a melting furnace, which symbolized its mining and metallurgical industries (similar images are depicted on the current coat of arms and flag of Yekaterinburg).

In 1783, the Great Siberian Road was opened - the main road of the Russian Empire that passed through Yekaterinburg. It served as an impetus for the transformation of Yekaterinburg into a transport hub and a center of trade. Thus, Yekaterinburg, among other towns of the Perm Governorate, became the key town for the development of the boundless and rich Siberia, the “window to Asia”, just as St. Petersburg was the Russian “window to Europe.”

In 1808, the Yekaterinburg plant was closed, and the history of the town entered a new stage related to the development of a large regional center with a diversified economy. At the beginning of the 19th century, the gold mining industry flourished. At the same time, deposits of emeralds, sapphires, aquamarines, diamonds, and other precious, semiprecious, and ornamental stones were discovered in the Urals. Yekaterinburg became one of the world centers for their artistic processing.

After the abolition of serfdom in 1861, the mining industry of the Urals experienced a severe crisis, a number of plants were closed. In 1878, the first railway was constructed across the Urals and connected Yekaterinburg with Perm. In 1888, the Yekaterinburg-Tyumen railway was built, and in 1897 - the railway to Chelyabinsk, which provided access to the Trans-Siberian Railway. Yekaterinburg became a major railway junction, which contributed to the development of the local food industry, especially flour milling. In 1913, the population of Yekaterinburg was about 69,000 people.

Yekaterinburg in the first years of Soviet power

On November 8, 1917, Soviet power was established in Yekaterinburg. On April 30, 1918, the last Russian emperor Nicholas II and his family members with a few servants were transported from Tobolsk to Yekaterinburg. They were placed in the “House of Special Purpose”, the mansion of engineer Nikolai Ipatiev requisitioned for this purpose, and transferred under the supervision and responsibility of the Ural Regional Soviet.

In July 1918, units of the White Siberian army approached Yekaterinburg, under this pretext the leadership of the Ural Regional Soviet decided to shoot the imperial family. On the night of July 16-17, 1918, it was done in the basement of the Ipatiev House.

10 days later, units of the Czechoslovak Legion entered Yekaterinburg. Over the next 12 months, it was under the control of anti-Bolshevik forces. On July 14, 1919, the Red Army reoccupied the city. Soviet authorities and the Yekaterinburg Province with a center in Yekaterinburg were restored. In 1920, the population of the city was about 94,400 people.

The political center of the Urals moved from Perm to Yekaterinburg. In 1923, Yekaterinburg became the administrative center of the vast Ural Oblast, which in size exceeded the territory of the present Ural Federal District of Russia. In 1924, the city council decided to rename the capital of the new region to Sverdlovsk - in honor of Yakov Sverdlov, a Bolshevik party administrator and chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee.

Sverdlovsk - a Soviet industrial giant

During the years of Stalin’s industrialization, Sverdlovsk was turned into a powerful industrial center. The old factories were reconstructed and new large factories were built, including giant machine-building and metal processing plants. In 1933, the construction of the future flagship of Soviet engineering (Uralmash) was completed. The population of Sverdlovsk grew by more than 3 times, and it became one of the fastest growing cities in the USSR.

January 17, 1934, Ural Oblast was divided into three regions - Sverdlovsk Oblast with a center in Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast with a center in Chelyabinsk, and Ob-Irtysh Oblast with a center in Tyumen. By the end of the 1930s, there were 140 industrial enterprises, 25 research institutes, 12 higher educational institutions in Sverdlovsk. In 1939, the population of the city was about 425,500 people.

Along with other Ural cities, Sverdlovsk made a significant contribution to the victory of the USSR in the Second World War. In total, more than 100,000 residents of the city joined the Red Army. 41,772 people didn’t return from the war: 21,397 - killed in battles, 4,778 - died from wounds in hospitals, 15,491 - went missing, 106 - died in prisoner of war camps.

Sverdlovsk became the largest evacuation point, more than 50 large and medium enterprises from the western regions of Russia and Ukraine were evacuated here. During the war years, industrial production in Sverdlovsk grew 7 times.

After the war, this city became the largest center for engineering and metalworking in Russia. During the Cold War, Sverdlovsk, as a key center of the defense industry, was practically closed to foreigners. In 1960, in the sky above the city, Soviet air defense shot down the U-2 spy plane of the US manned by Francis Gary Powers.

On January 23, 1967, a millionth resident was born in the city and Sverdlovsk became one of the first Russian cities with a population of more than 1 million people. In 1979, Sverdlovsk was included in the list of historical cities of Russia.

On October 4, 1988, a serious accident occurred at the Sverdlovsk railway station. The train carrying almost 100 tons of explosives rolled downhill and crashed into a coal freight train. An explosion occurred, aggravated by the proximity of a large warehouse of fuels and lubricants. The funnel at the site of the explosion had a diameter of 40-60 meters and a depth of 8 meters, the shock wave spread 10-15 kilometers. The explosion killed 4 people at the station and injured more than 500 people. About 600 houses were severely damaged.

Yekaterinburg - one of the largest cities of the Russian Federation

On September 4, 1991, the Sverdlovsk City Council of People’s Deputies decided to return the city its original name - Yekaterinburg. The population of the city was about 1,375,000 people. The restrictions on foreign visitors to the city were also lifted, and soon the first consulate general was opened here - the United States of America (in 1994).

The transition to a market economy led to a reduction in production at industrial enterprises, inert giant plant found themselves in a particularly difficult situation. In 1991, the construction of the television tower was stopped. The city was flooded with chaotic small retail trade in temporary pavilions and markets. These years were the heyday of organized crime, Yekaterinburg became one of the “criminal capitals” of Russia. The economic situation began to improve by the end of the 1990s.

In 2000-2003, the Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land was built on the site of the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg. In 2008-2009, the Koltsovo Airport was reconstructed. In June 15-17, 2009, SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) and BRIC (Brasilia, Russia, India, China) summits were held in Yekaterinburg.

In 2015, the Presidential Center of Boris Yeltsin, the first president of Russia, was opened in Yekaterinburg. On March 24, 2018, the abandoned unfinished television tower was dismantled. It was the tallest building in the city (almost 240 meters) and became one of the symbols of Yekaterinburg. 4 matches of FIFA World Cup 2018 were played in Yekaterinburg.

Today, Yekaterinburg is the largest center of attraction not only of Sverdlovsk Oblast, but also of the surrounding regions. By some socio-economic indicators, this city ranks third in Russia, after Moscow and St. Petersburg. Along with the development of trade and business, the city lost the status of the country’s largest industrial center.

Yekaterinburg - Features

Yekaterinburg is located in the floodplain of the Iset River on the eastern slope of the Middle Urals in Asia, near its border with Europe, about 1,800 km east of Moscow. Since the Ural Mountains are very old, there are no significant hills in the city.

This relief was a favorable condition for the construction of the main transport routes from Central Russia to Siberia (the Siberian Route and the Trans-Siberian Railway) through Yekaterinburg. As a result, it has become one of the most strategically important centers of Russia, which still provides a link between the European and Asian parts of the country.

Yekaterinburg is located in the border zone of temperate continental and continental climates. It is characterized by a sharp variability in weather conditions with well-defined seasons. The Ural Mountains, despite their low height, block the way to the masses of air coming from the west from the European part of Russia.

As a result, the Middle Urals is open to the invasion of cold Arctic air and continental air of the West Siberian Plain. At the same time, warm air masses of the Caspian Sea and the deserts of Central Asia can freely enter this territory from the south.

That is why the city is characterized by sharp temperature fluctuations and the formation of weather anomalies: in winter from severe frosts to thaws and rains, in summer from heat above plus 35 degrees Celsius to frosts. The average temperature in January is minus 12.6 degrees Celsius, in July - plus 19 degrees Celsius.

The city has a rather unfavorable environmental situation due to air pollution. In 2016, Yekaterinburg was included in the list of Russian cities with the worst environmental situation by this indicator. Car emissions account for more than 90% of all pollution.

Yekaterinburg ranks third in Russia (after Moscow and St. Petersburg) in the number of diplomatic missions, while their consular districts extend far beyond Sverdlovsk Oblast, and serve other regions of the Urals, Siberia, and the Volga region.

In terms of economy, Yekaterinburg also ranks third in the country. It is one of the largest financial and business centers of Russia. The main branches of production: metallurgical production and metalworking, food production, production of electrical equipment, electronic and optical equipment, production of vehicles, production of machinery and equipment, chemical production.

Almost all types of urban public transport are presented in Yekaterinburg: buses, trolleybuses, trams, subways, taxis. Yekaterinburg is the third largest transportation hub in Russia: 6 federal highways, 7 main railway lines, as well as Koltsovo International Airport, one of the country’s largest airports. The location of Yekaterinburg in the central part of the region allows you to get from it to any major city of the Urals in 7-10 hours.

Yekaterinburg has an extensive scientific and technical potential, it is one of the largest scientific centers in Russia. The Presidium and about 20 institutes of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 66 research institutes, and about 30 universities are located here.

This city is a relatively large tourist center. A significant part of tourists visit it to honor the memory of the last Russian emperor and his family killed by the Bolsheviks in the basement of the Ipatiev House in 1918.

There are about 50 different museums in Yekaterinburg. One of the world’s largest collections of constructivist architectural monuments has been preserved here. In total, there are over 600 historical and cultural monuments in the city, of which 43 are objects of federal significance. The City Day of Yekaterinburg is celebrated on the third Saturday of August.

NORFOLK STAR at sail

The must-see sailing yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024

As the excitement for the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 builds, BOAT takes a look at the top sailing yachts that will be making an appearance this year – from the latest launches to the finest yachts currently for sale .

Norfolk Star

Builder: Perini Navi Year: 1996 (2020) Length: 37m

Pedigree sailing yacht Norfolk Star was designed and built by the Italian shipyard in 1996 and had a "multi-million euro refit" in 2022, according to her broker. The revamp included a new main engine room, two new generators, PLC system, Inmarsat VSAT dome, 505 Williams tender, Doyle sails and Reckmann rigging. With accommodation for six guests, the yacht boasts a family-friendly layout comprising a full-beam master cabin on the lower deck along with two twin cabins – with the option of an additional pullman berth.

On deck, guests can benefit from the comfort the split cockpit area affords, where relaxed seating around a circular coffee table awaits as well as a dining area for eight.  The cherry wood interior also welcomes a bright upper saloon with panoramic views and a more formal main saloon with two sofas and dining area featuring an extendable walnut table.

Norfolk Star is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Burgess and Northrop & Johnson.

Builder: Wally Year: 2024 Length: 36.2m

Having hit the water in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , will make her global debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show and is recognisable by her "luminous light metallic blue" carbon hull paint job "that changes slightly as the light hits her". The sailing yacht's naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co , while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi . The design demonstrates the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the spirit and performance of a racing boat, and is characterised by her 6.9-metre telescopic keel.

Highlights include an 80-square-metre full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. The yacht also benefits from natural light thanks to a skylight that runs the full length of the coachroof. Accommodation on the wallywind100 model can be a three-cabin layout with a full-beam master suite, or a four-cabin standard layout.

Galma will be exhibited by Wally .

Builder: Vitters Year: 2017 Length: 32.6m

Delivered in 2017 to experienced sailing yacht owners, Ribelle has recently joined the market following a refit, which included a repaint of the hull, mast and boom, and a brand new suit of cruising sails. The sailing yacht is built of carbon fibre by the Dutch yard to a design by Malcolm McKeon and can be sailing with a small crew in cruising mode or, thanks to a self-tacking jib, can be transformed into a true racer.

She is a regatta regular and can often be spotted at some of the world's most prestigious events – including the Maxi Rolex Cup, Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, Les Voiles de St Tropez and Palma Superyacht Cup. Her Rémi Tessier interior accommodates six guests in three cabins comprising a master suite, VIP suite and a twin cabin.

Ribelle is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Burgess.

Dreamcatcher

Builder: Nautor Swan Year: 2024 Length: 28.8m

With her diesel-electric propulsion, the Swan 88 is the Finnish shipyard's first hybrid sailing yacht and is based on an evolution of its previous yachts. Sitting at the entry point to the world of maxi yachting, the yacht was delivered earlier this year and will make her worldwide debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival .

Dreamcatcher has been described as a "no-compromise cruiser with a racer soul" with a draught of four metres, with options for a shallow-draught, telescopic and performance keel. The yacht is also designed for comfort with a maximum heeling angle of 20 degrees and sports "feminine exterior lines" penned by veteran Swan designer German Frers . Her warm, classic interiors have been styled by Misa Poggi with accommodation for 10 guests.

Dreamcatcher will be exhibited by Nautor Swan .

Builder: Baltic Yachts Year: 2018 Length: 26m

Delivered by the Finnish shipyard in 2018, Mini Y is a Baltic 85 model designed by UK naval architect Dixon Yacht Design . Her silver hull and superstructure were built of carbon-fibre composite and the owner opted for a telescopic lifting keel that can reduce the draft from 4.3 metres to 2.95 metres when required. Mark Whiteley Design handled the  yacht's interior décor , with accommodation for up to four guests split between an owner’s cabin and a guest cabin.

On deck, the cockpit has a fold-out table for guests to enjoy, while the helmsman has the choice of two wheels. The guest cockpit can be completely covered for protection while racing, the navigation instruments still visible on the aft face. Mini Y joined the market earlier this year.

Mini Y is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Baltic Yachts and Edmiston.

Builder: Yonca Year: 2019 (2023) Length: 26.8m

Tuzla-based shipyard Yonca officially entered the leisure marine market with the launch of Mishi Yachts earlier this year. The new brand made its debut with two sailing models, measuring 26.8 metres and 31 metres – the first of which is the Mishi 88, which will be on exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Osman Tanju Kalaycıoğlu , Özgür Terzioğlu and Taka Yacht are responsible for the naval architectecture and exterior design, while interiors are the work of Aylin Örs .

The sloop's defining features include a spacious aft deck with a dining space which can comfortably seat ten guests. Offering shelter from the elements, the large cockpit features a carbon composite hard-top aft, while the swim platform has enough room in its back for a 3.5-meter inflatable tender. Accommodation is for six guests across a master cabin and two guest cabins, with further space for the captain and crew.

Mishi 88 will be exhibited by Mishi Yachts.

Builder: Yyachts Year: 2024 Length: 23.9m

German yachtbuilder YYachts is bringing its Y8 model to the Monaco Yacht Show. Javier Jaudenes of Surge-Projects worked alongside the in-house design team on naval architecture to create the model's new silhouette with a Scandi-inspired interior by Danish designer David Thulstrup. YYachts offers four pre-designed interior styles where owners can tailor the saloon area to their tastes.

A particular highlight is the owner's suite, which includes a separate saloon and can be located either in the bow or in the stern with direct access to the cockpit. In terms of technical details, the Y8 features a standard carbon mast, hydraulic main sheet system and all winches close to the helm stations. These features, along with the self-tacking jib and a lack of a backstay, enhance the yacht's performance and ease of handling.

Y8 will be exhibited by Yyachts.
