Completed Lurssen Yacht GLOBAL
Beauty is indeed the fiber that binds the soul of the 223′ (68m) Lurssen GLOBAL. Propelled by an owner intent on producing a masterwork of lasting impression, the collaborative efforts and creative will of naval architect Espen Oeino and interior design by Pascale Reymond springs to life as you take in each of the GLOBAL’s glorious decks. The sharp curves and soft angles that fuse the boat’s poetic exterior, complemented by an elegant interior that both subtly and strikingly blends elements of Art Deco and Persian décor, invite you to celebrate grand adventures and discover new worlds.
Built by the Lurssen shipyard , GLOBAL’s grace and style inspire you to breathe in the splendor at every turn and in every corner. “Since her launch in January of 2007, she has sailed from her Baltic birthplace to the Caribbean and back to the Mediterranean, performing more than admirably,” reports Kyle Fultz. As the captain of GLOBAL, Fultz offered expert supervision on its construction. “The opportunity to be involved in the building of GLOBAL was a golden one for me. Her superior range, stability, and state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems make her the ultimate platform for unlimited voyaging.”
Within this brilliant machine operates a remarkable five-star-plus hotel. As her owners intended, a specialized crew provides top-notch service, exquisite cuisine, soothing spa treatments, and incredible water and land activities, offering guests all of the pleasures they can imagine.
Moran Yacht & Ship negotiated the build contract for GLOBAL (as KISMET), wrote the technical specifications and managed the entire build process for the vessel. Our team was by the owner’s side from concept well through completion.

The Global 550 is a next-generation go-anywhere explorer that sails boldly into the most exclusive areas of the world. This yacht is about unrivalled efficiency and low impact operation. This is achieved with the lightweight, all-aluminium hull, which hardens in the cold, and sophisticated naval architecture that allows this yacht to reach 16 knots and maintain a range of 5,000 nm with just two 625 kW engines. The remarkable part about the engines, apart from their size, is their heavy duty rating, which allows for extremely long range passages. She also comes with advanced exhaust filters, massive freshwater storage and a sewage treatment system that fulfills the stringent requirements for navigating the Great Lakes, Alaska and MARPOL Special Areas, meaning that she can go without unnecessary bunkering. As a true explorer, the layout features plenty of opportunities to take in all the sights, with observation lounge on the crow’s nest at a height of 11 metres, complete with a steering station, and another one on the sundeck. The master stateroom on the main deck comes with a spacious personal office that doubles as another observation lounge. The Global 550 combines exploration with wellbeing and features spa with sauna and hammam in the transom. The yacht also boasts a fully commercially helipad on the main deck allowing to carry your own helicopter for further mobility and safety. Lastly, she comes with stylish, eco-minimalist interiors that integrate the untamed landscape into this one of a kind luxury explorer, making you feel truly at home in nature.

Alpha Tango Yachts and Brythonic Yachts join forces on 50m yacht concept
Greek shipyard Alpha Tango Yachts has collaborated with British builder Brythonic Yachts on a new, 49.7-metre concept named LUX. The superyacht would be built at Sea Horse Yachts' facilities in Sri Lanka, which are currently under construction.
Naval architecture has been completed Alpha Tango Yachts and Kobus Naval Design, while interior design is owed to Cristiano Mariani Architect and long-standing collaborator Gian Paolo Nari . Key numbers include an 8.15-metre beam, a maximum speed of up to 20 knots and a 4,500 nautical mile range.
Accommodation is across five cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite with a his and hers en suite and "beauty room". There are further quarters for nine crew.
LUX is equipped with a long list of amenities, including a gym, a sauna, cinema, music room, wine cellar, foredeck spa and swimming pool. A garage would also be able to store a seven-metre sports tender and various other watertoys.
According to the shipyard, LUX is suitable for both private and charter market clientele.
The yacht would be built in aluminium and powered by twin 2,500hp MTT engines.

What Life Might Look Like on the World’s Biggest Yacht
On a Tuesday morning in September, a six-foot-long plastic model of a boat sat on the second floor of the Explorers Club, looking a little like a beached Orca, sleek and out of place in the tweedy boardroom. The tiny yacht had traveled to East 70th Street from Los Angeles and, before that, made stops in Monaco and Zurich, Cannes, and West Palm Beach — a prop to entice buyers who can spend $10 million on a cabin in the world’s biggest yacht. If it gets made. The boat will be called the Ulyssia and it’s the passion project of Frank Binder, a billionaire from the Merck clan with a thing for boats (he once owned a shipyard in Monaco). Lenny Kravitz, his friend, is onboard to help design interiors. (“He’s a genius.”)
Binder has been doing a world tour to find other buyers — who might be hard to meet. Maintenance hovers around 3 percent a year, or $300,000 for that $10 million one-bedroom. It’s a big ask, especially for a boat that, if he does get recruits, won’t launch until 2028. To help, Binder brought on two former executives from the World , the luxury liner that was the first — and only — to prove rich people want to live … at sea, all year. (It launched in 2002, is still sold out, and has yet to snag on an iceberg or go bankrupt.)
Renato Chizzola , a senior vice-president for the Ulyssia who worked as the general manager of the World for five years, spoke to Curbed about the terrors of elephant seals and why he once hired Israeli snipers to come onboard.
This interview has been condensed and edited for clarity.
What did your job on the World look like??
I was in charge of lifestyle, expedition, everything — even the kitchen. You have a captain who’s the master of the vessel, and he ultimately will have the last word on safety, security, where we go, where we can’t go. But then you also need to have somebody who has grown up in a galley carrying luggage. I’m 60 in October. When I was 27, I said, “Okay, how can I see the world without having money?” So in 1993, I was hired on the Queen Elizabeth II , then went to hotels, cruises, and in 46 years I traveled to 186 countries. I was allowed to live onboard and basically extend any service, any dream that a resident had.
What’s the difference between this superyacht and the World ?
The World is now 23 years old. She was created in the late ’80s. She looks like a cruise ship. And the Ulyssia is a yacht — the designer says this is his masterpiece.
We never had many amenities on the World . Here, we have a deli. We have a library with a card and games room. We have a table-tennis room. We have two paddle-tennis courts all inside, a multipurpose sports deck up there where the helicopters are, two hangers, two submarines to go down to the ocean, seven restaurants.
Then, we have this inflatable marina off the back of the boat. Imagine we’re near Bermuda. It’s a beautiful day. The sea is calm. We stop and we inflate this — it takes an hour — and we have tenders. You can go diving right there off the ship. The sea is yours. This marina is something the World could never ever have done, because there’s no space in the boat to keep that. The World was more elderly, a bit elderly retired. This is way younger. Why? Because we have so many amenities and offer adventure. Here, we are offering fewer apartments with more space. The balconies are huge. Luxury, for them, means space, time and getting whatever they wish, whenever, wherever. Freedom.
Freedom , in a contained location —
Yes, and in a safe environment, completely protected against any danger. If a resident says, “I want to bring my family there, I want to be safe, I want to have no worries,” safety needs to be core to us. They want the freedom to do what they do at home — to run around with suits, jewelry. And if they are smart enough to say, “I want to go and see real scenarios, not luxury hotels,” they can go places where there’s no luxury and see how the world really works. That’s what this community wants.
Sounds like a security nightmare.
We will hire ex-Mossad physically, to be on the ship. On the World , we partnered with Marine Guard, one of the world’s best safety and security companies . It provides technical and physical support. And whenever we went to critical places — for example, when we went through the Gulf of Aden, I brought in Israeli snipers to come on the boat. Nobody, no pirate on earth can come in past them. Then on shore excursions, we have every form of security that you can imagine. Satellite images. Images underwater, over water. When we went to Antarctica, to the Northwest Passage — meeting with the Inuits, the Aborigines — you need people who know them. You need people who safeguard you. In the Antarctic, you are only allowed to go with Zodiacs to the beaches. You need people who know that, who know the sea lions, the penguins. We bring them onboard — 20 or 25 people who know everything about every area. And when we do expeditions, we bring on EYOS, one of the greatest expedition leaders in the world, which goes to places like the Titanic .
Is this, like the Titanic , experimental in any way?
No, there are similar yachts. But in four years, when she will hopefully leave port, she will be the greenest yacht of this size ever built. And at that time, we may build for whatever is available in terms of fuel, whether it’s methanol or nuclear. There are vessels already going nuclear, military vessels.
But isn’t this all risky?
It’s the opposite. You will see more and more environments like this at sea. Why? Because you can escape anything! If there’s an outbreak in New York, a big virus, you just won’t go there. If there’s a war there, you just don’t go there. If there’s a storm, you don’t go there.
So this will be a way for the global elite, basically, to pay to avoid any problem.
Is it going to be a one percent community? Yes, obviously, but they need to do good around the world, otherwise they cannot come to the community.
Imagine the following. We will have a medical center onboard. We have MRI machines. We have a dentistry. Our doctors, when we go to the west coast of Africa, to Senegal, we can have our doctors go out and help. And as we go around the world, we will help to map the ocean floor. We’ll have tools available to measure and send these to oceanic institutions that then take this data. So we are helping to make the world a better place. And that’s the legacy.
How are you going to gauge whether the people who want to live here also want to do good?
There’s a very tough background check before being allowed to buy. So can it be that a Colombian drug lord or a Russian weapons dealer comes and says, “Oh, I’m going to take ten?” No, that can’t happen. We’re not a community for people from mainland China who don’t speak English and want to spit around. Or aggressive Russians. We are not a community for sheikhs from any Arab countries. And I have nothing against the Chinese and Russians. I love everybody. I’ve been everywhere. But they just don’t fit here, and they won’t come. We want like-minded golf players, tennis players, joggers, bikers, F1 drivers.
We will have roughly 30 to 35 percent Europeans, 30 to 35 percent North Americans, including from Canada, possibly a few from Mexico City, a few from São Paulo. Then we have about 20 percent from Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan. Then we expect to have about 10 percent of people from all over, we don’t know where. It could be anywhere.
They’ll need a certain amount of money to get into this boat and I assume, therefore, that you can’t be that picky.
No, we can’t. But we try to be. It’s a balance. We meet them three, four, five, six times. We invite them, show them something, then they say, “Oh, I trust these people. I believe in them.” It’s a slow process.
Can a buyer get kicked off?
Oh, absolutely.
What’s the justice system?
There’s a board that’s voted in and we have our chairman on the board. Almost all of the members are people who have either been on yachts, have their own yacht, or have led organizations.
If people have their own yachts, why would they sign up for this?
They might have a beautiful yacht of a hundred meters, but they can’t hire all these education guides, explorers all the time. We have 22 guest suites. Imagine we’re coming to Japan. Blossom season. We bring an ex Japanese prime minister onboard, maybe a three-star Michelin chef. We bring them on, let’s say, three weeks before. And they lecture. We can have experts speak about anything. Volcanoes, health and wellness, food and beverage, politics, archeology.
And they have you, who’s been to 186 countries.
Exactly. So when I do speak to people who want to buy and invite them for lunch or a coffee, they listen because they know, Oh, this guy has been there. You don’t need to tell them something that you think can happen. You can actually tell them a story. When I went to Antarctica the last time, in 2009, on the way back to the Zodiac, I am walking and these big elephant seals — those are the big guys, like three tons and ten feet long — and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, there’s a big sound like MWUGHOWUGH and a big one came up, out of the sand. I stood there frozen. These are moments when you think, Is this really happening to me? How fortunate, how lucky am I to be able to experience moments like this? And all the wealthy people say the same.

Global Yacht Industry Market to Reach US$10.8 Billion by the Year 2026
The yacht industry is expected to witness increased demand for yachts with long range capabilities and with ice-breaking hulls, given the growing desire of luxury yacht owners for adventure travels to remote locations such as Antarctica and Galapagos. As against the conventional compartmentalized layouts, there is a shift towards innovative designs with brighter and open-plan interiors. Yacht designs are also focused on outdoor areas for providing yacht travelers a direct and more intimate experience with the sea.
Owners are increasingly demanding high-tech features and gadgets to be integrated into their yachts. In addition to standard components such as jet skis, canoes and water skis, demand is rising for advanced gadgets such as hover boards, jetlev and skibob. Further, yachts with high-quality cinema rooms and media rooms are also gaining widespread popularity among potential customers.
Amid the COVID-19 crisis, the global market for Yacht Industry estimated at US$7.4 Billion in the year 2020, is projected to reach a revised size of US$10.8 Billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 6.2% over the analysis period. Super Yacht, one of the segments analyzed in the report, is projected to grow at a 6.5% CAGR to reach US$3.6 Billion by the end of the analysis period.
After a thorough analysis of the business implications of the pandemic and its induced economic crisis, growth in the Sport Yacht segment is readjusted to a revised 7.3% CAGR for the next 7-year period. This segment currently accounts for a 22.6% share of the global Yacht Industry market.
The U.S. Market is Estimated at $2.7 Billion in 2021, While China is Forecast to Reach $1.2 Billion by 2026
The Yacht Industry market in the U.S. is estimated at US$2.7 Billion in the year 2021. The country currently accounts for a 32% share in the global market. China, the world's second largest economy, is forecast to reach an estimated market size of US$1.2 Billion in the year 2026 trailing a CAGR of 7.5% through the analysis period.
Among the other noteworthy geographic markets are Japan and Canada, each forecast to grow at 5.7% and 5.9% respectively over the analysis period. Within Europe, Germany is forecast to grow at approximately 5.6% CAGR while Rest of European market (as defined in the study) will reach US$1.3 Billion by the end of the analysis period. While the presence of large number of wealthy and affluent people has a strong bearing on higher demand for yachts in the US and Europe, increased penchant for sea tours and marine entertainment among population also aids the yacht industry.
New and unexplored markets like Asia are attracting significant attention of yacht makers. Interest in yachts is surging, with the expanding UHNW and HNW population increasingly seeking to purchase these boats to augment their social status. One of the promising yachting hubs to emerge in recent times is Southeast Asia, with countries such as Indonesia and Thailand becoming popular destinations for luxury yachting. China is another market with significant growth potential in Asia-Pacific region. In China, yachting is emerging into a popular sport, with motor yachting particularly gaining immense acceptance.
Flybridge Yacht Segment to Reach $2.1 Billion by 2026
The flybridge concept is growing in acceptance mainly for conducting corporate meetings, as it offers all the required amenities like air conditioning. In the global Flybridge Yacht segment, USA, Canada, Japan, China and Europe will drive the 6.1% CAGR estimated for this segment. These regional markets accounting for a combined market size of US$1.2 Billion in the year 2020 will reach a projected size of US$1.8 Billion by the close of the analysis period. China will remain among the fastest growing in this cluster of regional markets. Led by countries such as Australia, India, and South Korea, the market in Asia-Pacific is forecast to reach US$109.3 Million by the year 2026.

Global: rolls-royce and lürssen sign framework agreement for yacht refit collaboration.
Rolls-Royce's Power Systems division and Lürssen Yacht Refit & Services have signed a framework agreement that will cover their collaboration in the overhaul of mtu propulsion systems and refit services for yacht customers.
Lürssen has built many of the world’s largest yachts at its Bremen shipyard, often equipped with mtu propulsion systems from Rolls-Royce.
In addition to newbuilds, Lürssen also offers refit solutions for the overhaul, modernisation and conversion of yachts up to almost 200 metres long. In a statement issued this week, the companies said that a refit ‘also offers the opportunity to equip the propulsion system with the latest technologies for sustainable operation of the ship, thus contributing to the energy transition’.
Rolls-Royce and Lürssen have already been working together on refits for many years but the companies said that the new agreement ‘reorganises the cooperation, accelerates processes, simplifies procedures and defines common standards’. Consequently, they believe that it will ‘significantly reduce the time required for overhaul work on engines and propulsion systems’.
Denise Kurtulus, Senior Vice President Global Marine at Rolls-Royce Power Systems said: ‘This partnership between the two premium suppliers of yacht construction and propulsion creates unique conditions to play a major role in a highly attractive international market – and is fully in line with our strategic focus to strengthen the marine business.’
York Ilgner, Managing Director of Lürssen Yacht Refit & Services, added: ‘Thanks to the framework agreement, our customers receive the premium service they are used to from Lürssen.’

80 years of mystery and magic surround Lake Tahoe’s famed estate.
BY MEGG MUELLER
If the Internet had been around in the 1930s, the legend of George Whittell Jr. would far outshine the scandal-plagued celebrities of today. And while he was himself a raconteur, the adage would still be true; you can’t believe everything you read.
The truth—he was fabulously wealthy, collected exotic animals, and had a penchant for beautiful women that weren’t his wife—is enough for the storybooks, but likely wasn’t salacious enough to sell newspapers in his day, so exaggeration was rampant in the press.
He did, however, have a somewhat-deserved scandalous reputation when he began building his summer home on the shores of east Lake Tahoe in 1936.
MAN BEHIND THE MANSION
A foray into big-game hunting in Africa cemented a lifelong love of wild animals, particularly large cats.
In 1903, George’s parents hoped to settle down their wayward son, and arranged a marriage to one of San Francisco’s respected blue bloods. The story goes that George had other plans and instead eloped with a voluptuous showgirl. Further investigation reveals Florence Boyer to be a modest seamstress, but regardless of her profession, she was not suitable to George’s parents. His father quickly had the union annulled with the hopes of avoiding scandal, only to have his son turn around and marry an actress, who left him two years later in divorce.
During World War I, George reportedly drove an ambulance while in Italy and after being injured, met and fell in love with Elia Pascal, a French nurse. He brought Elia back to California, and with her acceptable pedigree the two married in 1919. George’s predilection for beautiful women continued after his marriage, and while Elia traveled to Paris sans George, she lived with him at their Woodside, Calif., home and frequently accompanied him to Thunderbird Lodge.
In 1922, George’s father died, and despite a wild, rambunctious youth, George Jr. proved an adept businessman, growing the family fortune steadily in the ensuing decade. In late 1929, however, George made what may have been his most perfect deal.
THE TRADE OF THE CENTURY
After the stock market crashed in 1929, George presciently made what is arguably his most savvy purchase; he bought acres and acres of pristine Sierra Nevada land—including more than 20 miles of Lake Tahoe shoreline— for just $3 an acre for the offshore land, and $6 an acre for the shoreline. (Tales of the purchase for 6 cents an acre are untrue). At one point he owned more than 40,000 acres of Lake Tahoe property, reaching from Nevada’s north shore to Zephyr Cove.
Initially, his plans for the land included a casino-hotel, luxury homes, and even a ski resort. After he built his summer home, however, the solitude was something he could not give up, and he chose the peace and quiet of no neighbors over the money developing the land would bring.
For 33 years, George reveled in his summer retreat, even bringing his elephant, Mingo, for a visit before the temperatures proved too much for the pachyderm. A more consistent companion was his pet lion, Bill, which was a gift from his ex-wife. Tales of the big cat’s nocturnal wanderings are exaggerated, but it’s safe to say guests at Thunderbird Lodge kept a wary eye out for George’s beloved friend.
Almost as constant were rumors of George’s ribald ways, with stories of parties growing more sensational with every retelling. From orgies in the fountains to locking naughty guests up in the house’s dungeon, the tales of George’s life at Thunderbird Lodge are more about the myth than the man. While he did entertain on occasion and was known for raucous all-night poker games with the likes of Ty Cobb and Howard Hughes, George’s reclusive nature found him often in the company of just a few close friends while in Lake Tahoe. George died in 1969 at the age of 87.
AN UNINTENTIONAL LEGACY
Additions were made by subsequent owner Jack Dreyfus, but the property retains its original glory and mystery. In the summer, guided tours by docents offer a glimpse into the life and legacy that is George Whittell Jr. But Thunderbird Lodge is more than meets the eye.
“It’s so much more than just a house or a history of a colorful man,” Bill Watson, chief executive and curator of Thunderbird Lodge, explains. “We’ve become the repository for the Lake Tahoe Basin’s art and history.”
Some 11 years into a job that was supposed to last 90 days, Bill has found himself on the front line of Lake Tahoe’s historical preservation efforts. His original mission was to save the Thunderbird Lodge from being torn down—that was accomplished when a deal was brokered that gave the buildings to the Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society, while the Forest Service kept the land. Next, the challenge was to sustain the buildings; 10,000 people a year visit Thunderbird Lodge for tours, plus 2,000 schoolchildren. There are special events—some are members-only, but the public is invited to others—that help raise funds for the upkeep of the buildings, but as Bill points out, there’s still work to be done before he can accomplish his third mission: building a permanent preservation fund endowment.
“We are still a historic site at risk,” he says. “Even with just five paid employees, Thunderbird Lodge costs $1 million a year to run. We are totally self contained up here.”
Along with its own water treatment plant and septic system, the operation requires the help of about 100 volunteers to keep the property open for visitors who come to see the buildings, artifacts, and discover the history of the man, house, and area.
Like George, Bill has found himself in a conservationist role he didn’t anticipate. He oversees Lake Tahoe’s de facto art and history museum, housing more than 25,000 art objects, papers, and artifacts from the region’s past. He has story after story of people calling him offering entire collections because they have nowhere else to donate them. He always says yes, and one day, he hopes to make the entire collection available online to the public (see sidebar on page 62) .
Art, history, exotic pets, incredible architecture and land, plus the story of one of Nevada’s most influential men come together under one roof, and the Thunderbird Lodge is still teeming with adventure at 80 years old.
“Thunderbird is a wonderful escape, offering windows to the past and to George’s legacy,” Bill says.
The Mighty Thunderbird Yacht
One of George Whittell’s Jr.’s most spectacular toys—among his Duesenberg cars, Grumman Goose seaplane, and a DC-2 airplane— was the 55-foot speedboat he commissioned in 1940 specifically to use at Lake Tahoe.
Thunderbird cost $87,000 to build and is a gleaming wooden vessel, with a hull and cockpit designed to mimic those of George’s DC-2. It originally had twin V-12, 550 horsepower Kermath engines, but when casino mogul Bill Harrah bought it in 1962, he replaced them with twin V-12 Allison aircraft engines.
The beautiful boat ferried the glitterati around Lake Tahoe’s waters, during George’s ownership and Bill Harrah’s time. From casino showgirls to the likes of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and Liza Minnelli, the Thunderbird was a well-known sight on the lake.
The upkeep of the 75-year-old boat is considerable, and while it spends much of its time protected in the Thunderbird’s massive boathouse, it is available to charter for private events.
FINDING HISTORY THE PROPER HOME
BY BILL WATSON
Thunderbird Lodge may seem like just another beautiful estate on a stunning lake, but our vision—and our future—is much greater. We realize how important it will be to have preserved Nevada’s treasures like Thunderbird Lodge and Thunderbird yacht for future generations. More than just a local legacy, Thunderbird is becoming a global model for such preservation endeavours.
We are the keepers of Lake Tahoe’s rich heritage—protecting and sharing for future historians and forward-thinking leaders.
We hope they will recognize the universal potential in inspiring curiosity, appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of Lake Tahoe’s art, history, and environment.
Lake Tahoe’s cultural narrative intersects at Thunderbird Lodge: geologic, Native American, mining, lumbering, railroading, rusticating, recreating, early conservation efforts, and more. Sadly, there is no viable institution today with the capacity to assemble and interpret this colourful past. With its vast collections of material and archives, Thunderbird is best positioned to share Lake Tahoe’s story as its de facto art and history museum.
Through Thunderbird’s Flagship and Castle Club membership programs, preservation-minded families and business are sponsoring development of one of the nation’s first digital museums, where Thunderbird will make available online its entire Lake Tahoe collection, plus other compelling content to researchers and audiences worldwide.

Majesty Yachts Unveils Majesty 100 Terrace: A New Benchmark in Luxury Yachting at Cannes Yachting Festival 2024
Dubai, 24 September 2024 – Gulf Craft, a global leader in luxury yacht manufacturing, unveiled its latest masterpiece, the Majesty 100 Terrace , during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 last week. The company’s Chairman, Mohammed Alshaali, unveiled one of their highly anticipated model builds on the legacy of the Majesty Yachts family, as part of their ongoing commitment to showcase an exceptional portfolio and their latest innovation in boating to international audiences.
At the same event, the Majesty 60 was awarded the "Best Evolution Award" at the 2024 World Yachts Trophies. With its sleek and contemporary profile, the yacht features a stylish exterior and an extended swim platform, along with accommodation options with either two or three cabins, each with private bathrooms and customizable features.
Commenting on the sidelines of this prestigious award, Alshaali said: “This accolade not only recognizes the yacht’s groundbreaking design and innovation but also aligns with our core philosophy at Gulf Craft — a relentless pursuit of evolution. We are dedicated to continually pushing the boundaries of yacht design, performance, and technology.”
The Majesty 100 Terrace embodies the shipyard’s commitment to luxury and innovation, expanding upon the legacy of the award-winning Majesty 111 , which won Best Interior Design at last year’s World Yachts Trophies in Cannes. Featuring an all-new semi-displacement hull, the Majesty 100 Terrace combines enhanced performance with a sleek 105’8” (32.25m) design. With an impressive 199GT, it offers unparalleled space and stability, ensuring smooth cruising and superior fuel efficiency, whether navigating the Mediterranean or Caribbean.
The Majesty 100 Terrace is named for its multiple outdoor terraces and entertainment areas, with a distinguished private owner’s terrace on the bow as well as fold-down balconies that seamlessly expand the outdoor living spaces. Masterfully crafted with rich marble, walnut, and brushed brass, the Majesty 100 Terrace epitomises the shipyard's legacy of meticulous design and superior craftsmanship.
Echoing the grandeur of the Majesty 111 , the main deck of the Majesty 100 Terrace features expansive entertainment areas, including a unique 10-seater dining table. Sailing yachts like Mike Lynch's are 'unsinkable bodies', CEO of boat manufacturing firm says

Vessels like Mike Lynch's stricken superyacht are "unsinkable", according to the chief executive of the firm which makes and sells them.
Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, told Sky News there are no flaws with the design and construction of the Bayesian superyacht which capsized in a storm off the coast of Porticello, Sicily, on Monday.
Five bodies were found by divers on Wednesday - taking the number of confirmed dead to six.
The Italian Sea Group also owns the firm that built British tech tycoon Mr Lynch's Bayesian, and Mr Costantino said the vessels "are the safest in the most absolute sense".
"Being the manufacturer of Perini [boats], I know very well how the boats have always been designed and built," he said.
"And as Perini is a sailing ship... sailing ships are renowned to be the safest ever."
He said their structure and keel made them "unsinkable bodies".

Mr Costantino said news of the sinking "put me in a state of sadness on one side and of disbelief on the other".
"This incident sounds like an unbelievable story, both technically and as a fact," he said.
It is understood Italian prosecutors investigating the incident are continuing to hold interviews with the survivors.
On Tuesday they questioned the captain for more than two hours to help reconstruct what happened and provide useful technical details.
Four British inspectors are also in Porticello and have begun a preliminary assessment of events.
It is understood they will look at all relevant aspects of the incident, including the design, stability, and operation of the vessel. They will also examine the effects of the weather conditions experienced.

Twenty-two people were on board the vessel, 15 of whom were rescued - including Briton Charlotte Golunski and her one-year-old daughter Sofia.
Divers will resume efforts on Thursday morning to bring ashore a body they found earlier. One more person remains missing.

INVENTIVE AND SOPHISTICATED 33-METRE WORLD CRUISING CATAMARAN WITH UNMATCHED QUALITY
23 september 2024.
Baltic Yachts reveals its first multihull project as a 33-metre (107ft) blue water cruising catamaran.
With contract signature in June 2024, the design and engineering phases of the project are well advanced and the build is scheduled to start this month with the construction of hull moulds. The yacht is due for delivery in summer 2027.
This project is a major milestone for Baltic Yachts, which has been a world leader in the production and development of high-performance, luxurious composite monohull yachts for more than 50 years.
The design brief calls for a highly aesthetic and functional design of a stable and comfortable long-range explorer yacht that can go almost literally anywhere, with elegant, streamlined and soft exterior lines, excellent sailing performance in all conditions and especially in light winds, and a high degree of autonomy from shoreside support services. It also desires a strong emphasis on environmental thinking and sustainable solutions, which extends to the yacht’s long-term operational footprint as well as the environmental impact of her construction.
‘She will be very much an explorer yacht with exceptionally high levels of comfort, beauty and reliability as well as some groundbreaking developments in efficiency,’ says Baltic Yachts sales director Kenneth Nyfelt. ‘While meeting strict weight targets to optimise her performance and handling, Baltic Yachts will also deliver a quality of finish that is yet to be seen on a multihull.’
The owners have assembled a carefully considered team to design, develop and build their yacht, with naval architecture led by Olivier Racoupeau, interior design by Jamie Bush, design consultancy by Andrea Chiari-Gaggia, structural engineering by Rivoyre Ingenierie and Patrick Sassier acting as the owner’s representative.
‘With the Baltic 107 Catamaran, Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design is particularly proud to bring the multihull into the world of the superyacht,’ says Olivier Racoupeau. ‘Our passionate and experienced team immediately recognised the values of Baltic Yachts. With a wealth of experience in multihulls, it was natural for us to design this exceptional catamaran, sharing the same vision with her owner of elegant lines and performance with volumes that will give access to any destination world-wide in the greatest comfort.’
‘For our first yacht project, this hi-tech 33-metre catamaran illustrates a unique design highlighting inventive functionality with modern styling, wrapped in a classic palette of warm woods, crisp whites with pops of sporty colours,’ says Jamie Bush. ‘It’s about creating a space that’s at once sophisticated, youthful and timeless for our adventurous clients. Building upon our previous successful collaboration with the owners, we’re drawing inspiration from modernist influences and contemporary design to develop a fresh and unique aesthetic for this yacht.’
Baltic Yachts was selected to build this yacht on the strength of its vast experience in high-performance superyacht construction, its very wide range of in-house skills and capabilities, its cutting-edge composite expertise, superlative quality of finish and proven track record of sustainable innovation.
The key features include pivoting centreboards that will enable her to explore shallow waters freely, extremely low levels of noise throughout the owner’s and guests’ accommodation, and unobstructed 360° views from her saloon. All sailing systems will be controlled from the crew areas on the flybridge. She will have notably low energy consumption at anchor as well as being able to regenerate electricity with her propellers while she is under sail.
‘Pushing the boundaries of technical sailing innovation is in Baltic Yachts’ core DNA,’ says Baltic Yachts’ EVP Henry Hawkins. ‘This project is a great opportunity for us to explore new avenues with partners with whom we are building their first yacht.’

The sweetest driver and the most amazing relaxing time. We didn't have to worry about anything. Really throughly enjoyed our time. We drove to San Francisco to a wedding, my aunts and uncles are older and it's hard for them to see in long drives outside of our city. This was a treat! It was around 30+ of us. Super friendly customer service, everything was easy and smooth. The bus was clean as a whistle and we were able to play our own music. Bluetooth connected, waters and a TV! We brought our own snacks and a little bit of wine, we had a blast.
We rented a party bus for my husband and I's 30th and it was incredible! Mark was awesome and made sure we all got there and back safely, and we got sooo many compliments from our friends that came. Plenty of space, super clean ride and overall just a great time! Definitely recommend!
Mark was a great help and made sure the day went smoothly for us. I would recommend him and his services. Thank you!
I had my senior ball on 5/5 and Mark was amazing! I found him on yelp and had messaged him starting from February because I knew how crazy prom season would be. I copied part of the message he sent me for the quote I asked for: "The following land yacht is available for your 6 hour (5:45p-11:45p) event on the date you've requested. 30-36 passenger - $1,695.00 Our prices INCLUDE ALL FEES AND CHAUFFEUR'S GRATUITY, as well as complimentary ice and bottled water." I had 32 people on my bus and we all had enough space! The water was definitely awesome for the end of the night but Mark was so responsible and got us to SF city hall on time and safely. He was so quick at replying to my messages and I have had looked into many other places and this was the most accommodating and reasonably priced. Highly recommend !!
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PARTY BUS & DRIVER! IT'S A VERY UNIQUE, Custom oversized METICULOUS PARTY BUS! Like no other! Looks Even better and Bigger than the photos!! AMAZING LIGHTING TOO! Every detail was considered to maximize guest's comfort...Plus new large bathroom! The Company even offered to pick up extra beverages and snacks & included bottled water/ice In the price! Another company i called charged for water/ice and their contract stated no chips/cupcakes etc on bus AND HAD NO BATHROOM!! They also required exact itinerary days in advance. We were allowed to change our itinerary as the night progressed! Driver, Mark, was beyond great with a positive FUN attitude! This party bus was an incredible fun experience for all. Everyone is still talking about it! I would give it 10 STARS IF I COULD!!! Ps My first yelp review but this company really deserves it!!A RARE FIND!!!
Our group had an amazing time! Mark arrived on time to pick us up and the bus was clean and spacious. The bathroom on board was an added plus. The pricing is very favorable to other companies and the bus has everything you need. I wish I had taken pictures of the interior because the other photos on here don't do it justice. There's also a TV that you can stream to. We ended up extending our reservation an hour because we didn't want it to end. We will definitely be using Mark again in the future.
First class experience from pickup, journey, to drop off. Our chauffeur Kelvin provided us with a safe and wonderful experience to make for a good time. Will definitely be hiring this company for future corporate events and celebrations. Keep up your good work. Thank you.
I had my 40th birthday bash and Mark was amazing. Bus was very clean and roomy with a bathroom which was a plus. Hands down, book with Pacific Land Yachts if you are looking for a party bus. Would definitely do business again!
Mark is pretty darn awesome! We chartered his land yacht for a work event. Everyone had an amazing time, and everyone said that they would definitely want to work with Mark again for both future and personal events that require group transportation. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!
I rented a bus for my brothers 30th birthday and it was an unforgettable night! The bus was in great condition and so much bigger than I imagined. It even had a restroom which was helpful because we had it reserved for 5 hours. The driver was fantastic and let us blast our music and dance the whole time. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good time!!
