What do you think of the Bavaria 960?

We have been looking at boats and we came across a nice looking Bavaria 960 boat. 1985 or 86 - pretty good condition - wide beam and well taken care of - ask is about 25k. From what I have read - Bavaria's aren't seaworthy vessels. What are your thoughts? We are novices - though have some sailing experience. Looking for a boat to do day and weekend sails for now, coastal or bay sailing with sleeping and sitting areas for the kids to chill out and places for us all to sleep while docked/moored etc. Thanks for your input, R

Did you end up buying the Bavaria? Saw no replies and was curious. Did you buy another boat and if so what?

Little addendum. Seaworthiness is 98% the skipper. NOT the boat. in 90% of water conditions.
