Joined this club shortly after being introduced to some members. Brilliant! Fun! Lovely! Friendly! Fabulous! I enjoy the location and people so much. A small but wildly valuable investment. What a treasure.
When I bought my boat last year, I wanted a way to learn and participate more on the water and live the life in the Marina and was introduced to the PMYC through a fabulous sailor, Tony Malazzo, a member of PMYC. He invited my husband and I to every event and to just come and grill on the patios. I've met so many wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable boaters and have begun to really enjoy the fabulous Monday Night Football dinners with family and friends. I've danced nights away after a racing event, laughed with new friends, gotten a book to read from the library, enjoyed a game day with friends (and won). The Pacific Mariners Yacht Club really is the BEST kept secret in Southern California.
I am a recent member of this club and i find it one of the best values in Marina Del Rey. Monthly dues are low. Food and Drink prices are a very good value. The best part of the club is all the fun activities and parties. Its a fairly young group and there is a lot of yachting going on. If you into boating you will want to get more information on the club. Hey, I have been racing yachts in MDR for many years I looked at all the yacht clubs in MDR and I joined this one. It was a good decision.
Went here for a drink with some sailor friends of mine. The gin and tonic was so strong that it was probably worth 3 drinks in and of itself. Everyone in the clubhouse greeted me with extreme friendliness; I felt like I was on another planet where everyone is nice and open-hearted. And one woman got up and did the hula. If all bars were like this, I'd probably become an alcoholic. Also, if you know of any way I can trade in my car for a boat-- let's just say I'm listening.
This is a great little spot for those who have big livers and extra time. Wonderful spot of Panay way, great window views of the marina, a bunch of salty old dog's, most of whom love the cheap beer, stop in and ask a member to sponsor you and you can have 2$ Coors lights!! Whoot whoot!! Beware of Paulina, the evil dock imp.
COme there nearly every week in the summer, a nice quiet secret gem. I could go on an on a really amazing experience and their service is awesome!
friendly and helpful - laid back and easy going....
We were recent guests at PMYC and were warmly welcomed into the family. Traveling down the coast we arrived at the club late on a stormy Monday night, after dark without a clue where we were going in this 6,000+ slip marina. Club members came out in a dingy to help lead us in and then once docked offered us drinks and dinner on the house. They are true mariners with a love for their fellow mariners and a love for their local waters.
