A General Description of Motor Yacht HARMONY II

Jadranska Linjska Plovidba completed the building motor yacht HARMONY II in 1954. This superyacht HARMONY II is able to sleep overnight a maximum of 12 passengers all told aboard and in addition to 12 professional crew.

Motor Yacht HARMONY II is classic steel yacht which has been fully restored since her launch in 1954. The project was undertaken over a period of six years and included a total internal and external refit. The new decor of HARMONY II is traditional in style but modern in functionality resulting in a warm and comfortable ambience.

Her core hull was crafted from steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made mostly from steel. With a beam of 8.7 m or 28.6 feet HARMONY II has fairly large interior. A shallow draught of 2.9m (9.5ft) limits the list of harbours she can enter, depending on their individual characteristics. She had refit improvement and alteration work undertaken by 2007.

The 55.1m/180'9" motor yacht 'Harmony' (ex. Toinie) was built by Amels in the Netherlands at their Makkum shipyard. Her interior is styled by English designer design house Terence Disdale and she was completed in 2001. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Terence Disdale and she was last refitted in 2017.

Guest Accommodation

Harmony has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising two VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Harmony is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Cummins (KTA38- M2) 1,180hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 119,810 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. Her water tanks store around 18,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1 SSC YACHT MONO G6 ✠ LMC, UMS classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

Schiffsliebhaber kommen aktuell in Palma wieder voll auf ihre Kosten. Seit Sonntag (8.9.) liegt die "Harmony II" nahe der Inselhauptstadt vor Anker. Ein Schiff, das derzeit als Yacht dient, aber eine sehr besondere Vergangenheit hat.

Die "Harmony II" wurde 1955 in den Werften von Jadranska Linijska Plovidba in Pula (Kroatien) unter dem Namen "Mostar" für die berühmte jugoslawische Reederei Jadrolinija gebaut. Sie gehörte zu einer Serie von vier Schwesterschiffen und war für den Transport von Passagieren zwischen den verschiedenen Häfen der dalmatinischen Küste bestimmt.

Im Laufe der Jahre wurde das Schiff 1966 in Griechenland zum Kreuzfahrtschiff umgebaut , das für Tagesausflüge genutzt wurde, bei denen die Touristen keine Kabinen benötigten. Zunächst trug es den Namen "Meltemi II", später wurde es an die bekannte Reederei Epirotiki übergeben, die es in "Apollo I" umbenannte und es zu Kreuzfahrten zu den Inseln der Ägäis schickte.

Außen alt, innen top-modern

1987 dann eine weitere Namensänderung: Ab sofort als "Prince Albert" bekannt, wurde das eindrucksvolle Gefährt nur sporadisch als Charter-Yacht genutzt. Mehrmals wechselte der Besitzer, letztlich wurde es Ende 2004 noch einmal restauriert und bekam seinen heutigen Namen.

Allein die Ausmaße sind bezeichnend: Mit einer Länge von 57,7 Metern und einer Breite von 8,74 Metern zieht die "Harmony II" die Blicke auf sich. Sie kann zwölf Gäste in insgesamt sieben Kabinen beherbergen, hinzu kommen neun Crew-Mitglieder. Trotz seines Alters ist das Schiff mit allen Annehmlichkeiten einer modernen Luxusyacht ausgestattet.

Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass die Harmony II in Palma ankert. Auch vor einigen Jahren lag sie bereits für eine längere Zeit an einem Steg der Uferpromenade. /somo

Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas passenger, 12, dies after falling from balcony: report

Rescue team searches for man who jumped off world’s largest cruise ship.

The FBI reportedly is investigating the death of a 12-year-old child who fell from a balcony onboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas cruise ship.  

The incident happened Saturday night in the ship’s interior Central Park area as the ship was heading back to port in Galveston, Texas, according to the website Royal Caribbean Blog. The cruise line describes Central Park as "upscale exquisite public gathering place featuring serene pathways, seasonal flower gardens and canopy trees." 

"We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of one of our guests," Royal Caribbean said in a statement to media outlets. "Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. For the privacy of the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share." 

It’s unclear how the child fell, but the FBI told The Washington Post that it is investigating the matter along with the Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Both the FBI and Royal Caribbean did not immediately respond Thursday to requests for comment from FOX Business. 

The ship was wrapping up a 7-night cruise to the Western Caribbean – with stops in Honduras and Mexico – when the death happened. 

Staff onboard the Harmony of the Seas tried to resuscitate the passenger following his fall, but their efforts were unsuccessful, Royal Caribbean Blog reports.  

The Harmony of the Seas then returned to Texas the following day, with Royal Caribbean telling passengers on the ship’s next voyage that boarding would be delayed by one hour, the website adds. 

"Due to an emergency on our previous sailing, our boarding tomorrow will be delayed," said a statement reportedly emailed to passengers, "As a result, the terminal will be closed until 12 PM." 

Harmony of the Seas is based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and "spans 16 guest decks, encompasses 226,963 gross registered tons, carries 5,497 guests at double occupancy, and features 2,747 staterooms," according to the cruise line. 

In 2019, a 16-year-old male passenger died onboard the Harmony of the Seas while trying to enter his cabin through a nearby balcony, Royal Caribbean Blog also reports.
