Owner's remorks & upgrades.

The Wanderer, a 48-foot Hatteras, has been under my ownership since September 2020. This vessel has a storied history in the Northeast, where it has been meticulously maintained and operated for most of its life, with the exception of a one-time trip to Florida in the early 2000s. Since then, the boat has been hauled out and kept on the hard during my ownership and for the nearly 18 years under the previous owner.

The Wanderer boasts several recent upgrades, including new aft ice and glass, a new aft TV, and a rebuilt ice maker by CoolBoats. It is equipped with a 3000 SW inverter and a Garmin 8016 12-inch display for advanced navigation. In July 2021, all air conditioning systems were retrofitted with Dometic split systems, featuring units of 6000, 8000, 10000, and 16000 BTUs, all with digital controls.

Prior to my ownership, the boat had a new rug installed and much of the upholstery redone. The power system includes a reliable 17kW Cummins Onan generator, meticulously maintained with oil changes every 180 to 200 hours and winterized with pre-winter oil changes. The boat features three cabins and three heads, with one head having a full-size shower. The other two heads have showers that have been disabled but can be reactivated easily.

The Wanderer does require some maintenance, including teak work, re-sanding, and re-varnishing on the railing, which is planned for this season. It comes with spare props and shafts, and the bilge pumps have been recently updated. The inverter and house batteries were also recently updated in 2022.

Located in New Bern NC, Hatteras Yacht has been manufacturing luxury production and semi-custom sportfishing and motor yachts for over half a century. Starting out when wooden boat construction was still the norm, textile manufacturer Willis Slane and a group of investors envisioned a new breed of fishing boat and hired naval architect Jack Hargrave to design a yacht that could stand up to the challenging conditions of the waters off North Carolina's Cape Hatteras. They have stood as the benchmark of quality and innovation since their beginnings.  This 1981 Hatteras 48 Motor Yacht epitomizes the classic design that combines performance and quality craftsmanship, with luxurious accommodations. WANDERER is powered by twin 335 hp Detroit Diesel 6v92TAs with 1775 (starboard)/1560 (port) hours, and a 2018 Cummins Onan generator. She is equipped with a VHS, Furuno Radar, a Viking compass, a 2021 Garmin 8612 chartplotter/sonar w/12” display, a XANTRAX Freedom SW 3012 inverter, and a Dometic AC split system with 4 zones and digital controls was retrofitted in 2021. There are spare propellers cleverly stored beneath the forward cabin, and a Fortress Anchor and 45il CQR anchor with plenty of rode & chain. The enclosed flybridge has a custom fiberglass hardtop, helm station, 2 captain chairs, and an L-shaped settee. Step down to a large sundeck aft with a new Isinglass enclosure, perfect for leisurely cruising and entertaining. The wet bar features a stainless steel bowl sink, a beverage/wine cooler, and plenty of storage. Deck furnishings include a flatscreen TV, and 4 premium folding cushioned deck chairs and table. There is a walk-through transom, that leads to a fiberglass swim platform, accessible by a ladder.  The spacious interior opens to a light-filled Main Salon and step-down Galley with plenty of headroom. In the Salon you will find the second helm station, two swivel barrel chairs, an L-shaped settee, a flatscreen TV, and a full ONKYO stereo system. The U-shaped Galley is well-appointed with a full sized Kelvinator fridge, [newly rebuilt Cool Boats icemaker], a 3 burner Galley Princess electric stove with oven, a Toshiba microwave, a Black & Decker toaster oven, a dinette that comfortably converts into a double berth, and plenty of storage. WANDERER has a three-stateroom, three-head layout. The double berth stateroom forward has an ensuite head with sink, vanity, and shower. There is a guest stateroom starboard aft with two single berths, and a guest head.   Oasis 48' Hatteras Motor Yacht 1990

  You can enter Oasis from either port or starboard side wing doors into the spacious aft deck. The aft deck has a U-line refrigerator, wetbar with sink, 32' Samsung flat screen tv, and ample seating which completes all the things necessary for a great night of entertaining family and friends.

  Up several steps is the flybridge which has two helm seats, port and starboard aft settees with storage beneath. The helm seats and helm both have canvas covers. A new AM/FM bluetooth radio was installed in 2021 and a new bimini top.

  The salon is just three steps down from the aft deck and its 16' beam and large windows provide you with a spacious feel throughout. The starboard side contains a built in entertainment center, recliner, wetbar with sink, U-line ice maker, and storage for bottles. The port side has the built in U-shaped sofa with leather bench with storage, along with a 40" Samsung flatscreen tv and Bose speakers (not connected) mounted on the aft wall. Also a newly installed a/c unit.

  Moving forward and down several steps and to the port brings you to the galley area that consists of Corian countertops, Princess Gourmet 3-burner electric cooktop, a GE Profile microwave/convection oven overhead, under-mounted sink with a Grohe faucet, garbage disposal and Summit Twist Air double door refrigerator/freezer. The Whirlpool Thin Twin stacked washer/dryer is located behind the panel directly across from the teak dinette table.

  The VIP stateroom with ensuite head is forward of the galley. The centerline queen size berth has storage drawers beneath the bed and a large overhead hatch for great natural sunlight. Hanging lockers and drawers are located on both starboard and port side. A 25" Insignia flatscreen tv is mounted on the portside wall.The head includes a vacuflush toilet, vanity with sink, and shower stall. 

  Port, aft of the salon is the day head that contains another vacuflush toilet, shower stall, and vanity with sink. 

  Directly across the hallway is the starboard stateroom. The stateroom has upper and lower bunks, reading lamps, hanging locker and a storage drawer beneath the lower bunk.

  The master stateroom is aft of the guest stateroom and has an ensuite head. The queen size berth is offset and has walk- around access. Custom overhead lighting, and nightstands on the sides of bed with drawers and two hanging lockers. A 32" Samsung flat screen tv mounted above the built-in dresser with drawers and stereo. The ensuite head comprises of a vacuflush toilet, vanity with sink and shower stall. 

  The steps that lead to the salon both forward and aft provide you access to the engine room.

  The engine room contains two 725 hp Detroit Diesel 8V92 engines and an Onan 20 kW generator with 1,326 hrs. A Village Marine Tec water maker that produces approx. 400 GPD, Groco electric oil change pump ( new-5/19 ), Hynautic hydraulic steering, Glendinning engine synchronizer, dripless shaft seals, a/c units and Kidde CO detector completes the engine room.

  30m Hatteras motor yacht Tie Breaker sold

  The 30.5-metre Hatteras motor yacht Tie Breaker has been sold with Fraser 's Trevor Carroll representing the seller and Ann Avery of Northrop & Johnson representing the buyer.

  Delivered in 2002, Tie Breaker belongs to the American shipyard’s raised pilothouse series, which benefits from a spacious, social flybridge. 

  The GRP motor yacht underwent a 2018 refit that included a complete overhaul of the generators and interiors, followed by several other recent mechanical upgrades. Both the exterior styling and naval architecture are owed to Jack Hargrave .

  Accommodation is for eight guests across four cabins and includes a full-beam master cabin with a king-size berth, walk-in closet and his and her bath. Interiors were completed in-house with high-gloss cherry wood, marble and granite finishes incorporated throughout. A “country-kitchen” style galley contributes to the yacht’s warm, traditional aesthetic.

  The main saloon features a plush L-shaped sofa, custom coffee table, built-in end table and two lounge chairs with a rising television screen. There is also a formal dining table with custom-upholstered seating for eight, alongside a sunken, granite-topped wet bar with an ice maker and a refrigerator.

  Tie Breaker’ s main convivial area is the flybridge, which is fitted with a wet bar, barbecue grill and television screen with speakers. There are also curtain enclosures for additional privacy. Aft, an expansive deck is arranged with sunloungers and sofa seating, providing panoramic views off the stern.

  Powered by twin 1,800hp MTU engines, Tie Breaker can reach a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots.

  Optimised for cruising in the Bahamas and Caribbean, a draft of two metres allows the yacht to navigate shallow bays and anchorages with ease.

  Tie Breaker was last asking $2,695,000.
