Marley Cutbush is happy to go to work.
As a boat broker with the Burraneer Bay Marina Yacht Sales team, he has the good fortune to be based on the waterfront overlooking Burraneer Bay.
“Every time I pull in, I look out over the bay, and every single time I look, it’s different,” he says.
“Whether there’s a southerly blowing, or it’s grey, or it’s a clear, mirror-glass night, it’s a different landscape. I can look across the bay and see all the lights on or see the storms roll in. It’s quite a unique view.”
Only a few minutes’ drive from the hustle and bustle of Cronulla, the bay is a magnet for boaties.
Cutbush spent 15 years boating around the world, including several years aboard superyachts and skippering private vessels around Asia but is now more than happy to be home on Burraneer Bay.
“It really is a stunning waterway in so many respects,” he says.
“The water’s so clear. Today there was a seal swimming around the marina; he visits around every month or so. I’ve seen turtles, I’ve seen dolphins, wobbegongs, rays and kingfish coming through.”

Cutbush’s family has a long association with the area: his great-grandfather owned a five-acre block on the Burraneer Point known as Loch Lomond, and Cutbush grew up messing about in boats.
Cutbush says boating is key to bringing the local community together.
From the cruisers to the Port Hacking 100 game fishing competition to the putt-putt regatta, which attracts up to 60 small timber vessels, there are events and activities for boaties of all descriptions.
One of Cutbush’s favourite spots is South West Arm, just a few nautical miles south of Burraneer Bay.
“It’s super protected and an extremely deep anchorage with some courtesy moorings,” he says.
“You’re fully surrounded by the Royal National Park, so you can’t see a single house, and it feels like you could be anywhere.”
Highland Property Group agent Mitchell Wynn says the boating lifestyle is definitely the main drawcard for Burraneer Bay residents.
The suburb of Burraneer is dominated by waterfront and water-view properties, and prices regularly tip over $6 million.
The record price for the suburb was secured a year ago when a contemporary Woolooware Road waterfront sold for $9.1 million.
There’s no high-rise development and only one road into the peninsula, keeping traffic to a minimum.
“Burraneer has great water facilities with the Royal Motor Yacht Club just down the road,” says Wynn.
“There are some boutique shops, a grocer and a bakery as well as two cafes. You’ve got the proximity back to Cronulla without being in the hustle and bustle.”
Beautifully landscaped grounds cascade down to the water’s edge at this deep waterfront gem, which comes with a pool, a gym and a private pontoon.
There are two living spaces, an eat-in kitchen and a study, plus balconies on both levels to take in the views.
Mitchell Wynn of Highland Property Group Sutherland Shire is selling the home with a guide of $6.8 million-$7 million.

The marina in Australia in the city of Burraneer has a complete range of services available to its customers, which include water, electricity and gas station. This moderate-capacity marina has moorings for large size, because it has moorings for boats with a maximum length of up to 20.00 m and a maximum draught of 8.00 m. The marina can also provide its customers nautical services which may be of use. In accordance with environmental needs, the marina is outfitted with waste collection systems for the most common types of waste produced on a boat. As a result, the relevant environmental authorities have awarded it quality certification, demonstrating that it is marina which respects the environment. On the other hand, the marina also has the necessary infrastructure to attend to users who do not need a mooring and only require a place to set into the water for an occasional excursion and will then trailer their boat on dry land at the marina. This marina has a complementary selection of nautical activities, so you can practice a number of different sea-related sports. Well connected and not only accessible by sea, it is also close to the nearest airport.
