EXTERIOR The generous lower deck swim platform connects through to the large beach club to make a sunbathing and lounging area close to the water.

The spacious 100m²/1076ft² sundeck has ample room for a pool and its scintillating waterfall feature, and a fully-equipped bar will keep guests refreshed throughout the day and into the evening when the hardtop roof lights glow like stars and the swimming pool LED lights further enhance the ambience.

The interiors from B Design are modern, sophisticated and complex, implementing fumé mirror and lacquered wood to create a visually impressive and intricate design. Modern comforts can be found throughout, from the plush sofas and cutting-edge entertainment systems in the shared guest areas to sumptuous beds and en-suite amenities in private quarters.

The lower deck hosts the crew accommodation in addition to five of the six guest cabins, and to the stern, there is a spacious modern beach club measuring 80m²/861ft² that contains a fully-equipped gymnasium.

On the main deck, the Master suite takes up the forward section with the galley and main foyer behind. The signature staircase uses backlit ivory onyx in its floating steps, while fumé mirror enhances the optical illusion. The main salon to the aft features more backlit ivory onyx in the arch frames near the aft entrance. These are used as a display wine cellar for 21 bottles on each side for an impressive visitor entrance to VIDA's interiors.

VIDA Specifications

A pair of MTU 8V4000 M63 diesel engines produce a top speed of 16.4 knots, and a cruising speed of 13 knots with a range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests across 6 well-appointed en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. ~ The Master suite is placed on the main deck forward and provides a private area of 80m²/861ft². ~ The crew of 13 will provide the first-class service while cruising and throughout any special occasion on board.

Video: Heesen superyacht VIDA, ex ‘Project Antares’, prepares for delivery

Heesen has shared footage of the launch of its 55m/180ft superyacht VIDA , which is now getting ready for sea trials ahead of her delivery in the spring.

Released yesterday, the video clip captures the moment VIDA first hit the water back on 4 January. She is the latest in Heesen’s FDHF 55m Steel class and, according to the Italian shipyard, ‘is now entering the systems commission phase and is getting ready for sea trials’.   

After undergoing rigorous sea trials in the North Sea, the yacht will be delivered to her owners in the spring and is planning to make her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019 .   

The third in the 55m Steel series, luxury yacht VIDA comes after superyacht AZAMANTA, which was built in 2015, and 2017’s superyacht LAURENTIA , which is currently available for charter.   

Following her sisterships, she features the same muscular exterior lines by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. As revealed in the video, her profile is clean and sleek with floor-to-ceiling windows ensuring plenty of natural light gets into the interior, styled by Florida-based Be Design Associates.

Described as a ‘home away from home’, the interior combines natural materials and finishes along with a soft and warm colour palette, ultimately creating ‘a comfortable but sophisticated ambience’.

One of the most impressive design features is said to be a backlit onyx arch in the main salon while the owner will have the domain of a huge 80-square-metre stateroom. There are five cabins in total.

The design brief was put forward by the owner, who also worked closely with the technical team at Heesen to customise the motor yacht so she can serve as the mothership to a sports fishing fleet.

Special features include the ability to refuel and re-charge two small fishing boats, allowing for several days at sea without the need to return to base.

Heesen introduces its newest yacht, 'Vida'

55m 'vida' is the latest vessel to be launched by the dutch shipyard….

The dutch shipyard has unveiled its latest vessel in the 55m Steel class. Formally known as Project Antares, now christened Vida , Heesen’s latest model was launched earlier this year on 4 January. The yacht is now entering the systems commissioning phase and is getting ready for sea trials.

The owner is an experienced American yachtsman that worked closely with the shipyard’s technical team to customise his yacht. Vida has several special features to fulfil her role as mothership to the owner’s sport fishing fleet, such as its capacity to re-fuel and re-charge two sport fishing boats, allowing the fleet to be at sea for many days without needing to return to base.

Vida is the third vessel in the 55m FDHF Steel class, which is characterised by muscular exterior lines designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. The yacht’s profile is clean, thanks to the absence of fashion plates and its design is elevated by floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the interiors to be flooded with plenty of natural light.

Be Design Associates (BDA) was appointed by the owner to create the interior décor. Having previously worked with the studio on some residential projects, the hope is that BDA’s involvement would give the boat a home-like feel. The Floridian studio worked on the architectural structure that had been penned by Francesco Paszkowski and Margerita Caprini. Natural materials and soft colour palettes were used to create a comfortable but elegant ambience. This was the BDA teams first new-build yacht project

The lower deck is home to five suites which can accommodate twelve guests. The owner has their own 80m2 stateroom on the main deck. A backlit onyx arch frames the main saloon, which the design and build team hopes will wow anyone boarding Vida .

Thanks to the hull design by van Oossanen Naval Architects, at 55m and 740gt Vida can reach a maximum speed of 16 knots with minimal fuel consumption, providing the yacht with a range of 4,500nm at 13 knots.

Vida is set to undergo sea trials in the North Sea before being delivered to her owner in Spring 2019. She is due to make her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September after spending the summer cruising the Mediterranean.

Within The Superyacht New Build Report , due to for delivery on 20 February, Heesen has been highlighted as one of only 16 “consistent builders” that have made at least one delivery per year over the past decade. Heesen currently has 10 yachts in build at the moment.

Heesen Reveals “Santosha” Details

Heesen Yachts in the Netherlands is revealing details about Santosha , a 187-footer that is the first hull in a new class of high-speed aluminum builds from the Dutch shipyard.

Previously known as Project Akira, this yacht’s design was first revealed at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show. Heesen ’s team then began construction of the yacht on spec, with delivery expected this autumn.

The owners who purchased the build took the interior design in a direction different from what Heesen originally planned. The yard worked with interior designer Harrison Eidsgaard to include sustainable materials—including recycled wood, performance leather and “art silk” carpets—along with what Heesen calls “a carefully curated art display” on board.

Peter Wilson, who is acting as the owners’ representative, stated in a press release: “Our collaboration with Heesen on this project has yielded an excellent result. Collectively, we have been working as a cohesive team, with each party doing their utmost to achieve a world-class superyacht—one that is distinct from her peers. This was our second project with Heesen, and we look forward to many more in the future. Once delivered, I have no doubt that the clients will enjoy Santosha to her fullest.”

Some additional details about Santosha that Heesen just revealed include accommodations for 12 guests in six staterooms, a glass elevator, a 375-square-foot beach club, and a master bathroom inspired by the Garden of Eden, including a bas-relief snake. Heesen describes the master suite as an “owners’ apartment” that’s 750 square feet in size with a study.

Exterior design on this yacht is by Omega Architects. Heesen is projecting a 22-knot top speed. Range is expected to be 3,900 nautical miles at 13 knots. Gross tonnage is 780. The power package is twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines.

To allow for shallow-water cruising in regions including the Bahamas, draft on Santosha is about 7½ feet.

“ Santosha is a yacht designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life, combining elegance with practicality and meticulous attention to detail with a relaxed ambience,” Heesen’s chief commercial officer, Mark Cavendish, stated in a press release:. “It stands as a true testament to Heesen Yachts’ commitment to excellence and innovation in yacht building.”

What does Santosha mean? The yacht’s name is Sanskrit and serves as a reminder to “remain happy under any circumstances or be contented with what we can achieve,” according to the shipyard. A lotus will be the yacht’s logo.
