Admiral Sells Largest Superyacht to Date: 82m New Build SKYFALL
By Jenna Mehdi
Admiral Yachts has announced the sale of a new 82m superyacht to be delivered in 2025 under the name Project Skyfall. The project was negotiated by Fort Lauderdale-based dealership FGI Yacht Group, and will be the largest superyacht built to date by the Italian Sea Group brand when she is completed.
FGI Yacht Group will oversee the project throughout its construction. Frank Grzeszczak Sr., head of Sales of the Americas for Admiral Yachts and President & Founder of FGI Yacht Group, commented in a statement:
" After an extensive 3 years of shipyard research and searching for a yacht builder to entrust with the creation of his dream yacht, this highly experienced American owner of multiple superyachts finally decided to build with The Italian Sea Group's Admiral. "
Giuseppe Taranto, Vice Chairman and CCO of The Italian Sea Group, concurred, adding, “ The sale of the new 82 metre Admiral marks our entry into the US large yacht market, consolidating TISG position as a key global player in the mega yacht sector.”
Project Skyfall will be equipped with five decks, six staterooms and accommodation for some 28 crew members. The inspiration behind the project is to offer an array of amenities in one sophisticated package, pushing the boundaries of its class without compromise on quality.
At 82m in length and with a beam of 13.3m, Project Skyfall will become the largest superyacht ever built by Admiral Yachts when she is constructed, topping 75m flagship KENSHO. Skyfall’s Galileo design has been penned by the Centro Stile of the Italian Sea Group, the highlights of which include an extraordinary underwater cinema lounge and three swimming pools.
The Italian Sea Group recently made headlines as it completed the acquisition of the historic Perini Navi brand and assets for 80 million euros. The group's entry into the US market comes as no surprise as one of the largest Italian shipbuilding conglomerates continues to go from strength to strength.
Stay tuned for more updates on Project Skyfall as construction commences.

The 189.99ft /57.91m custom motor yacht 'SKYFALL' was built in 2010 by Trinity Yachts. The yacht’s exterior styling and entire engineering package is thanks to the in-house team at Trinity Yachts, while the luxurious interior design is the work of Patrick Knowles.
Exterior Design
A highlight of the all-aluminium SKYFALL is her shallow draft, which allows her to access shallow waters that other yachts of her size cannot reach. All decks offer alfresco dining options, but the hub of any luxury charter is sure to be the sundeck where a hot tub and shallow splash pool surrounded by sun pads sit forward of a semi-circular bar.
Interior Design
Described as ‘urban contemporary with overtones of Zen’, the interior design of SKYFALL features an abundance of woods and stones, beautifully etched glass and unusual materials such as petrified tree trunks. Other highlights include an unusual foyer aft boasting a statement wine cabinet and a Tiger’s Eye bar top in the sky lounge.

Performance & Range
A custom semi-displacement yacht, SKYFALL boasts a state-of-the-art stabilization system, which reduces roll motion and results in a smoother, more enjoyable cruising experience. She also features ‘at anchor stabilizers’, which work at zero speed to increase on-board comfort both at anchor and on rough waters.
Able to reach an impressive top speed of 21 knots, the motor yacht cruises at a more economical 14 knots and has a range of 1,666nm from her 22,000litre fuel tanks, making her an exceptional combination of performance and luxury.
Skyfall knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with an extensive selection of action packed water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Guests can feel the wind in their hair and jump the waves on one of the two SeaDoo Sport GTR 130 SE WaveRunners. Another excellent feature is a waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If you enjoy diving you'll appreciate the diving equipment and the PADI certified professionals on board. If that isn't enough Skyfall also features a seabob, wakeboards, bikes, inflatable water toys and paddleboards. Skyfall features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 11.3m/37'1" Intrepid Tender to transport you in style.
Skyfall and her crew are available for charter this summer for cruising within the Mediterranean. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in the Caribbean.
Showcasing meticulous craftsmanship coupled with high-end luxurious finishes, motor yacht Skyfall certainly has the "wow" factor, along with state-of-the-art amenities and array of water toys, promising truly unforgettable yacht charters for even the most discerning guests.

On board sailing superyacht Regina, star of James Bond film Skyfall
She was the stunning beauty that lit up Skyfall – not Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe but Doğukan Boyacı’s spectacular 56 metre schooner superyacht Regina on which the film was shot. Stewart Campbell meets the 28-year-old Turk who gave Daniel Craig AKA James Bond an experience (and a shower) he’ll never forget.
“When I leave they’re going to kill you,” the haunted beauty Severine purrs at James Bond in a Macau casino, leading him to glance at the three bodyguards watching nearby. “If you survive, I’m on the Chimera. North harbour. Berth seven.” With a vampish smile, the femme fatale from 2012’s Skyfall stands and wishes Bond luck. The secret agent raises his Martini glass to the three heavies before quickly dispatching two of them with a briefcase and leaving the third to become dinner for a hungry Komodo dragon. Cut to Chimera . Severine paces the yacht’s saloon before stepping into a steaming shower. And we all know what happens next.
Only a few people were in on the secret of that now famous shower scene, and one of them was Doğukan Boyacı, the 28-year-old vice-chairman of Pruva Yachting , manufacturer and owner of the 56 metre superyacht known in the film as Chimera , but in reality as Regina . Up until that moment all the shots on board had been legitimate, but the film crew couldn’t get all their gear below deck for Bond and Severine’s moment in the shower so it had to be done in a studio. That small embellishment aside, it was Regina in all her glory up there on the silver screen and Boyacı, her indecently young owner, couldn’t have been more proud.
“We thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for our company,” he says, still clearly energised by the fact that it is his boat that’s been immortalised. “James Bond is one of the biggest trademarks in the world and to use our yacht was a great opportunity. It led to lots of enquiries and Regina had wonderful charter seasons in the Med and Caribbean . Just after the movie came out we got dozens of charter enquiries, and it’s still going on. Now all our clients and brokers know Regina as the ‘ James Bond yacht ’.”
In the film, we’re treated to sweeping shots of Regina as she leans elegantly with the wind on the approach to the island lair of bad-guy Raoul Silva. Bond joins Severine on deck, where the severe-faced henchmen and desolate island in the distance do a great job of highlighting the beauty of this classic-looking ketch.
The superyacht was launched in 2011 for charter, to an exterior design by Turkey’s Ayberk Apaydın and an interior by Aylin Örs. “The aim was to build a classic yacht using only natural materials that would be ultra comfortable for the charter guest,” Boyacı says. “She had to be really strong in sailing and completely different from the normal gulet.” She achieves that with her Roaring Twenties charm and big square deckhouse, which covers an expansive saloon that was transformed into Severine’s bedroom for Skyfall .
Boyacı says it took his company a month to get the yacht ready for the film. “We did lots of modifications. It was really very difficult to prepare the yacht for them but we succeeded finally.” Soft furnishings had to be changed and some re-upholstering was required inside and out. Up top, meanwhile, the rigging was altered to provide the camera with open views of the deck. It was all done in collaboration with EON Productions, maker of Bond films, which did a lot of filming for Skyfall in Turkey, particularly around Istanbul and Fethiye. Regina was chosen by EON almost by chance: one of the Turkish production company’s workers had seen her cruising in Göcek, and EON approached Burgess to find out more about her.
It took eight days for filming to wrap on the yacht and the actors were on board every day, along with director Sam Mendes, although they stayed ashore at night. They wouldn’t have been disappointed with the yacht’s digs, though, with her six comfy cabins housing 12 guests. Boyacı doesn’t have any stories of actors throwing TVs overboard or going wild on raki, and instead reports that the two stars – Daniel Craig and Bérénice Marlohe – were “very polite people”. They loved the yacht, according to Boyacı, telling him that Regina was “quality and luxury”.
Boyacı is a lucky man, therefore, to be able to spend so much time on such a boat. Though the yacht is offered first and foremost for charter, he always makes sure to spend two weeks on board each year – one week in the Med and one in the Caribbean. He spends another week on board Primadonna , his company’s 21.5 metre gulet.
You might think that 28 is too young to be in such an enviable position but Boyacı, son of Pruva founder Bedirhan Boyacı, was not just gifted a top job. He says he started “at the lowest level, in the charter department”, when he was 22, straight out of university. He was eventually promoted to vice-chairman in mid-2014 and is loving the position he occupies. So far, his youth isn’t working against him. “I always feel very young but I have not encountered any problems. I respect people with experience but young people should be given a chance.”
At the time of writing Regina was in the British Virgin Islands , enjoying another successful charter season and it was near here that Boyacı recently spent time on the yacht. He flew over to hook up with her at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show in December, which handily is also his favourite place in the Caribbean. He frequents Catherine’s Café Plage – “delicious food, pleasant atmosphere and a very nice beach” – and the island’s Abracadabra restaurant, where Italian food always precedes a night of dancing. By the time you read this Boyacı will already have jetted back to the Caribbean for another week aboard Regina , this time around St Maarten and St Barths.
Living in Bodrum, Pruva’s vice-chairman gets to see one of his other loves only once a month – the football club Galatasaray. But he plans to travel with the team next season and watch them compete in Europe’s premier club competition, the Champions League.
In the meantime there’s a busy boat manufacturing and charter business to run. In the sheds at the moment is a 37 metre sailing yacht and the company is doing research and development on a 45 metre explorer, which is a break from the more traditional gulets it is better known for. The first gulet it produced, in 1996, was named Doğukan . But this boatbuilding scion says he is most attracted to modern explorer yachts, especially Oceanco’s 81 metre Alfa Nero and the latest output from Icon. On the sailing yacht side, he admires the sleek lines of Alloy’s 67 metre Vertigo .
It’s unlikely you’ll see Bond on a big modern superyacht such as this any time soon unless it’s to take out a bad guy. But that’s just fine. A classic fictional character needs a classic yacht, even one that was built as recently as 2011. In one of the last shots of Regina in Skyfall , we see her from the air, beautiful and poised as she sails easily towards what we soon find out is Severine’s doom. Boyacı could be forgiven, though, for not caring too much about this sad twist in the plot. He was too busy smiling. “To see our yacht on the Hollywood stage? Well, what can I say? It was just an incredible feeling.”

Mega-yacht from "skyfall" hits market for $9.4 million.
She was one of the most memorable Bond girls in the 007 film "Skyfall" – tall, slender and stunning in her famed water scene.
But this particular Bond girl wasn't an actress – it was a boat.
The 183-foot super-yacht named "Chimera" that starred opposite Daniel Craig is actually called " Regina ." And the Turkish business tycoon who owns her has listed the mega-sailboat for a cool $9.4 million (€8.85 million.)
Regina's captain Burak Korel told CNBC's Secret Lives of the Super Rich : "She looks like one of the James Bond girls: elegant, cool, sexy – with strong character."
While filming in Turkey, the "Skyfall" production crew shot multiple scenes on-board Regina. One of the more memorable moments was the steamy sex scene between Bond and his love interest du jour in one of the luxury yacht's showers.
Custom-built in 2011, Regina travels every winter from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean with the help of twin-diesel engines that supplement her sails with 880 horsepower. The motor sailboat accommodates up to 12 guests in her six en-suite cabins. The yacht's two master staterooms have sitting areas, hi-tech dressing rooms that light up upon entering, and master baths covered in glowing slabs of marble that are illuminated by LED lights embedded beneath the stone.
The expansive upper deck is dotted with king-sized sunbeds and plush loungers, as well as two areas for al fresco dining. Below her more than 12,000 square feet of billowing sails is a gleaming mahogany superstructure that houses a saloon, formal dining area, and captain's cockpit.
"The buyer of Regina is an individual who has a strong passion for sailing, but also wants to enjoy the comforts of a motor yacht," says Engel & Völkers Yachting broker Benjamin Barker. "She's made with romance that can be felt as soon as you step on board."
In high season, Regina can charter for as much as $135,000 a week.

7 Reasons We’re Psyched for Skyfall
- By Yachting Staff
- Updated: February 25, 2014
Rendering of 223-foot Sunrise motoryacht Skyfall
John and Jeanette Staluppi, long known among yacht-spotters for their builds bearing the names of James Bond films, have commissioned a 223-foot superyacht from Sunrise Yachts.
Skyfall is scheduled to launch in 2017 and will be the largest build yet from the Turkish shipyard. Worth Avenue Yachts brokered the deal.
Here are seven reasons we’re psyched about the new project:
• There’s a much better chance of Adele singing at the christening ceremony for Skyfall than there was during the 2011 launch of the Staluppis’ 200-foot Benetti Diamonds Are Forever .
• Skyfall is rumored to be packed with new technologies thanks to Italian designer Vallicelli & Co., naval architects Mulder Design and OYD, and German-based interior designer Focus Yacht Design. We’re hearing phrases like “Voith Linear jet propulsion system” and “MME micro turbines” as “power-generating sources of the future.” Neat-o.
• Sunrise Yachts has been in operation for just six years, showing how quickly today’s superyacht yards can ramp up to take on impressive projects.
• Exterior designer Andrea Vallicelli is describing Skyfall as a “slender yacht,” even though she’ll have five decks. We can’t wait to see that claim in real life.
• The maximum speed on Skyfall is expected to be 23 knots, with a range of no less than 5,000 nautical miles at slower speeds. That’s a serious transatlantic traveler.
• Skyfall is being described as a fast-displacement yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. It sounds run-of-the-mill, but with the Staluppis involved, we know it will be anything but standard execution.
• Skyfall will be the Staluppis’ 19th yacht. We can’t wait to see what it sparks in their imaginations — and what Bond movies will come out between now and the launch to inspire an even bigger build down the road.

No matter what your budget is, its important to do your research and find out exactly what youre getting for your money before signing on the dotted line.
Keeping Superyachts Out of the Public Eye
When it comes to owning a superyacht, some owners prefer to keep their vessels out of the public eye.
Understandably, these individuals are concerned with privacy and discretion, and therefore tend to take measures to ensure their yachts are not visible to outsiders.
For instance, some superyacht owners opt to keep their vessels in private marinas, away from the public areas of larger ports.
Additionally, some yacht owners may choose to hire security guards to patrol and protect their vessels while they are moored or sailing.
In addition to physical security, some superyacht owners also use technology to keep their vessels out of the public eye.
For example, a yacht owner may choose to install a satellite-based communications system that allows them to keep their vessel completely off-radar.
This system works by bouncing signals off satellites rather than transmitting them, making it virtually impossible for anyone to track the yachts movements.
Finally, some superyacht owners also choose to limit the number of people who have access to their vessels.
For instance, the owner may only allow family members and close friends to board the yacht.
Additionally, the owner may choose to employ a limited number of staff to help maintain the vessel and keep it running smoothly.
These individuals may be required to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure they do not disclose any information about the yacht or its owner.
Overall, while some superyacht owners may choose to keep their vessels out of the public eye, there are still plenty of other ways to show off the opulence associated with owning a superyacht.
From swimming pools and helicopter pads to on-board cinemas and spas, there are many luxurious amenities that can make a superyacht the envy of any jet setter.

SKYFALL is currently for sale for an asking price of $29.5m
Superyacht SKYFALL is as iconic as the James Bond movie it shares its name with. Owned by an American real estate developer, the 190-foot motor yacht features a distinctive silhouette and a boatload of stand-out amenities including a panoramic sky lounge, a split-level owner’s cabin and a helipad that converts into a basketball court. As well as being highly appealing to owners, she’s a successful charter yacht that’s renowned for her ability to entertain.
SKYFALL was built by American luxury motor yacht builder Trinity Yachts in 2010 for the shipyard’s owner. “SKYFALL is the most exquisite superyacht ever delivered by Trinity Yachts and is a shining example of American craftsmanship and pride,” says Frank Grzeszczak Sr of FGI Yacht Group. “In a market where yachts of her size are rarely this versatile, SKYFALL stands out as a unique offering. With a Bahamas-friendly draft, aluminum construction, speeds exceeding 20 knots, a flexible seven-cabin layout—including a bi-level primary suite—and expansive lounges, SKYFALL sets herself apart from others in her class.”
The current owner bought her in 2018 from an American automobile tycoon and completed a full refit in 2020, including elegant, timeless interiors by designers Patrick Knowles and Even Marshall. Now, as the owner builds a new, larger, 270-foot yacht with an Italian shipyard, they’ve reluctantly put SKYFALL up for sale.
As SKYFALL enters the market with FGI , the owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, gives Forbes an exclusive look at life onboard the yacht and reveals his favorite experiences and spaces, as well as his top tips for superyacht ownership.

What initially captivated you about SKYFALL?
Owner: SKYFALL is an iconic yacht. She really has the best of all worlds. She has semi displacement which means she is fast and efficient. She also has a shallow draft that allows her to get into anchorages or ports that other similar sized boats can’t even try to get into. In the Bahamas, for example, it is typical for SKYFALL to be anchored close to shore while other 60-meter (190-foot) boats are a mile or more offshore.
What are your favourite memories onboard SKYFALL?
We have had a lot of fun with family and friends on SKYFALL. The list of great memories onboard is quite long. The bridge deck outdoor dining table is where we always try to have meals unless the weather is very bad. We have had a lot of great discussions with family and friends around that table that will last a lifetime. We also like that the sundeck that has two hot tubs with plenty of space, which is where we have pre-dinner canapes every night while we watch the sun set wherever we might be.
One thing that often grabs people’s attention is the basketball goal that also is a helideck on the sundeck. We have had a lot of competitive games of basketball on sundeck, sometimes with a number of spectators watching from afar.
The top deck of SKYFALL features a basketball court, helipad, pool, hot tub and dining area
What is your favourite space onboard?
The sky lounge is group favorite. It has twin 80-inch TVs, so there isn’t a bad place in the sky lounge to view a game.
Please talk us through the owner’s cabin and how you designed it to suit your lifestyle.
The owner’s cabin on SKYFALL is exactly what we wanted on a boat. The master bed faces the bow with large windows which means we get to wake up every morning to an amazing view. The sitting area is perfect for getting a break from guests when we just need some time to ourselves. The suite also has ‘His and Hers’ separate baths and closets, which is a requirement for us. My wife and I always say that the key to a long and happy marriage is separate bathrooms and closets.
The office in the master suite is a welcome retreat for me so I can get work done privately without being disturbed, and more importantly, without waking up my wife.

Where are your favourite places to visit around the world?
It has always been non-negotiable for our family that we spend New Year’s together in Saint Bart’s on the boat. In early spring, she spends a few weeks in the Bahamas, and then typically we send her over to the Med for the summer season. She then comes back for a quick yard period in the fall, does the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and then makes her way back to the Caribbean.
What makes SKYFALL such a successful charter yacht?
The feedback from charter guests has been that this is a great multi-generational boat. We have all the fun toys for kids, and lots of relaxing spaces for adults. Three generations in a family can travel together and have a great trip for different reasons. With the multitude of large beds, it is also a great boat for several couples to travel together.
Interiors are elegant and timeless
What first inspired you to become a yacht owner?
Our family had been chartering yachts for about 12 years. More and more we found ourselves wanting to spend time on the water. We had been loosely talking about buying a yacht when we started attending the annual Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. I’m not an impulse buyer, but when we found a boat that we thought would work for our lifestyle, we knew (or rather, my wife knew) that was the boat for us.
What does yacht ownership give you that villa or a hotel ownership couldn’t?
We often talk about how owning a yacht allows you to basically have a home nearly anywhere in the world. We like new places, and we like to explore, but we like to have a familiar home base to come back to at the end of a long day. A yacht gives you the advantage of being in the Med in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter sleeping in the same bed every night.
Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor dining areas
Why have you decided to put SKYFALL on the sales market – and why now?
We are building a new boat, and it is time to let this one go. We are sad to part with her, but we hope she will find a new family that will create many new memories on her as we have.
What would be your biggest piece of advice to the next owner of SKYFALL?
Have fun with her. That’s what she is for. This boat loves to be used so if you have a destination in mind, she’s ready to go.
The decks have plenty of space for entertainment and relaxation
