| The reason I'm putting it up for sale is that I bought a full size sailboat (18' Catalina) and my wife thinks its best if I sail the big boat vs. messing around with this model...and we don't have to much model sailboat activity here in the mountains. This is a super kit...lots of prefab and very cool rigging and deck hardware. In one of the images, you can see there is a stack of drawings and instruction books for all phases of assembly, including the installation of the genoa. There are several links to others that have built a Smaragd and they all say what a joy it is to build and sail....here is just one link for review: Specs: length: 54.3" beam: 14+ weight: 27lbs height: top o mast to bottom of keel: 86.6" This boat is going to require a good craftsman and someone that knows how to paint to make it look really good and it will probably going to require a good winters worth of work as well. As for the price, I'm thinking that $750 for everything listed is fair...I have much more than that into it. The balance is for shipping as I'm estimating that this is going to cost about $125 - $150 to ship hull, keel and masts in the lower 48...the keel alone weighs in at 20+ lbs. I would plan to make a pine box for shipping the keel. The super long masts are going to take a rug tube and 1x2" pine to keep them straight for shipping. The hull and accessories would be packed in a single box but that will easily exceed the oversize limit for most shippers...again, I'm not sure anyone on RCG would be interested, but thought I would start here before placing on ebay. MO preferred, but PayPal is fine. Outside the lower 48, buyer agrees to pay all shipping and insurance. Thanks for looking...questions or more images, let me know Mike | |

the green line is the loop, it rolls on and off at the same time moving the line towards one side and the other. the red line is the control to extend the sheet from the sail. in order to sail tight to the wind or for the wind. on the green sheet there is a ring fixed. all the way extended to one side it is on the end point.

Re: Robbe Smaragd yacht. If you fit a spring or an elastic in the dead side of the winch line, it stops the problems of the line coming off the drum. On my boat I fitted a spring over the pulley bolt at the bow end so the pulley was tensioned. Either way works.
There is no mast, rigging or sails. This is quite long (54cm approx) and heavy (probably in excess of 10kg) due to the keel.
