World Bank Group Debars Venus Softwares, Venus IT Solutions Private Limited, and Zytron Systems

WASHINGTON, September 26, 2024 —The World Bank Group today announced the 15-month debarment of three India-based IT companies—Venus Softwares, Venus IT Solutions Private Limited, and Zytron Systems—in connection with collusive practices as part of the West Bengal Institutional Strengthening of Gram Panchayats Program II in India.

The project aimed to strengthen the institutional and financial capacities of Gram Panchayats, which are local governing institutions, across West Bengal. According to the facts of the case, Venus Softwares, Venus IT Solutions Private Limited, and Zytron Systems, improperly coordinated the preparation and pricing of their bids with other bidders in tenders for contracts financed by the project, which are collusive practices according to the World Bank’s Anti-Corruption Framework.

The debarment precludes the three companies from participating in Bank Group-financed projects and operations. As part of a settlement agreement, the companies acknowledge responsibility and agree to meet specified integrity compliance conditions as a requirement for release from debarment. For Venus Softwares, this includes developing bid preparation policies and procedures, and all three companies are required to develop compliance training programs, all of which must reflect the relevant principles set out in the Bank Group Integrity Compliance Guidelines.

The companies also commit to continue to fully cooperate with the Bank Group Integrity Vice Presidency. The settlement agreement reduces the debarment periods due to the companies’ cooperation and voluntary remedial actions.

The debarments of Venus Softwares, Venus IT Solutions Private Limited, and Zytron Systems, qualify for cross-debarment by other multilateral development banks under the Agreement for Mutual Enforcement of Debarment Decisions that was signed on April 9, 2010.

The Bering 95 is everything a true explorer yacht should be; immensely strong and powerful, yet fuel efficient and comfortable.

The Bering 95 is a superb transoceanic yacht. Her 8m beam gives an incredibly spacious interior, with open plan entertaining areas a large galley on the main deck. The master stateroom occupies the forward part of the main deck and features a dressing room, lounge area and large bathroom - it's so big, it wouldn't be out of place on yachts of twice this size!

Four large guest staterooms can be located on the lower deck and accessed via a staircase from the main deck. The lower deck offers a huge amount of space, that can be configured to best suit the owners needs. Crew quarters can be located either forward or aft on the lower deck and up to eight smaller guest cabins could be created, instead of the more typical four guest cabin layout.

The forward portion of the upper deck comprises the fully equipped pilothouse, with a settee and table located aft of the helm seat. There's plenty of space for large format display screens, as well as a full complement of electronics, to be chosen by the owner. Behind the pilothouse is a useful space that can be configured in a number of ways, such as a gym, office or Captain's cabin. There is also enough space for a day head, which is a real benefit for the on-watch crew while at sea.

The aft flybridge deck has ample space for multiple tenders and a powerful crane for launching them. The forward areas of the flybridge offer many options for a wet bar, refrigeration, barbeque grill, seating and lounging spaces and even a hot tub, if desired. If you can dream it, Bering can build it for you!
