Kenny Chesney’s boat obsession has been a multi-year journey and he certainly loves living the “no shoes” lifestyle. There has been plenty of internet controversy over Kenny’s boats. Some sources reported that the boat featured in his “Come on Over” music video was a loaner boat and that Kenny still owns a Sea Ray boat. Other sources report that his latest boat is a 63’ Riva Virtus that features 2 large sundecks, 4 cabins, and reportedly has a price tag new of over $3M.
After some research, it appears that Kenny sold his Sea Ray boat to a Yacht Charter company in the Virgin Islands and currently does own a Riva Yacht that is indeed featured in his music video. However, Kenny’s boat is the much larger Riva Domino that has a size range of 86′ – 92′. The boat is a sleek stunner in the music video and a new version of this boat fully loaded is over $6M. Kenny Chesney’s Come Over Music Video (Featuring his 86′ Yacht)
The music video was filmed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with some ocean scenes near Miami Beach, Florida. Chesney released the video in 2012 and has described the music video as a “classy booty call.” His 86′ Riva Yacht plays a leading role in this video.
The lyrics for “Come Over” were written by Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne. The video features a cameo from Kenny’s dog, Poncho, standing on a paddleboard with Chesney. Courtney McCann (a model from Bakersfield, CA) stars as Kenny’s love interest in the music video.
Sammy Hagar Provides Proof of Kenny Chesney’s Boat…
Rock star Sammy Hagar tweeted a photo of Chesney reaching from one yacht to another for a plate of chef Emeril Lagasse’s ribs (Tweeted on Feb 12, 2017). This provides some photo proof that Kenny does own the boat featured in his music video. Apparently, Sammy Hagar and celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse were cruising off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., (Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017) during Emeril’s charity fishing tournament.They ran into Kenny Chesney on his multi-million-dollar Riva yacht.
Sammy made the following post on his website, “An hour into the boat ride we saw this big gorgeous gunmetal gray 86ft Riva with a few beautiful people on it—I looked closer and noticed it was Kenny Chesney! I screamed at him and he stopped, backed up, and we had a couple high-fives, a toast, and Emeril handed over to Kenny a big plate of barbecue ribs and a jar of about a half pound of beautiful caviar—can you believe this sh*t!? We said goodbye and then Kenny showed up at the event later that night at the Marina Club House, and jumped on stage to sing a really soft version of “Eagles Fly.” Vic and I played an acoustic set for over an hour, and Kari joined in for “One Sip,” “When the Sun Don’t Shine,” and “All We Need Is An Island”—it was an unbelievably satisfying and successful event! Afterwards, Kenny hung out and we polished off a couple bottles of Da’ kine, what a night!”

Kenny’s professed love of boats goes way back in his career. He recorded a song titled ‘Boats’ for his ‘Lucky Old Sun’ album. The song lyrics include, “”vessels of freedom/harbors of healing”. Kenny grew up in Knoxville, TN in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains and believes that a prior ancestor must have been a beach bum. Kenny stated in a prior interview, “ I’ve always felt a certain sense of peace and freedom on the boat that I don’t get on the tour bus. On the road, there’s always something to do and some place to be. My life is full of expectations. But on the boat, I can take a deep breath and be myself. ”
Kenny used two own two Sea Rays over 50′ and one of his boats “Take It Easy 2” is now a rental Yacht . The website for the Yacht charter shows the below image and description of the two boats.

“Happy On The Hey Now… Behind The Song”
A Special Song For A Special Person.
Many of you have heard this amazing song on the “Live In No Shoes Nation” album. We were there that day in 2013 at Gillette Stadium when Kenny poured his heart into this beautiful tribute to a special friend! We have also passed the boat those memories were made on. When we visit St. John it is moored right there in Cruz Bay! Yes it survived the hurricanes too!
This amazing song is about Kristi Hansen, a friend of Kenny’s who passed away in 2012 from a brain aneurysm at the age of 35. The singer first met Kristi in the US Virgin Islands in the 1990s and she was part of a group of pals whom he would hang out with during his downtime in the Caribbean. He recorded this touching tribute to her as the closing track of his sixteenth studio album, Life On A Rock . “This record was tough for me in the studio, especially that one,” the Nashville star told Billboard magazine. “To sing a song that personal – about someone who really touched your life was hard for me. It really was. There’s a difference in singing something like ‘ Pirate Flag ,’ ‘When The Sun Goes Down,’ or ‘ Summertime ‘ in the studio, and getting in there and singing a song like that. This record was so emotional and so close to me.”
The “Hey Now” was a boat that Kenny would hang out on in the Caribbean with his friends and he considered Kristy the centerpiece of all of them. Kenny explained to Billboard magazine: “This person defined that circle of friends, she defined a time in my life when it was a lot simpler for me. I think that she was the kind of person that lived the kind of life I really craved. She was the epitome of living life in the moment. She took life like it was a big lemon and squeezed it really hard. I think we all have somebody in our life that dies young, and it’s hard to figure out why, and that can make such an impact that no matter how busy you are and what you’re doing in life, it can stop you in your life and change you. That’s what it did to me, even before I wrote this song. When that happens to you and you have to let go of someone you really care about, it makes you re-evaluate everything. It makes you re-evaluate the connection with the person you’re in a relationship with, what you’re giving to it, are you giving to it. It makes you re-evaluate your relationships with your family, your friends, and that’s what Kristi’s passing did to me. It changed me as a person, as an artist and songwriter, the way I like to walk through the word. She was a special person.”
“Some people are really good at math, good at school,” he added, “some have a great business mind, some are great at sports. Kristi was good at life and that’s what this song is all about.”

The boat is a keeper, the girl not so much. Though that butt is nice I'd rather ride the boat. Cedar any idea were it was filmed? Wonder why they shot it in black and white?

The boat is Kenny's - purchased it right before filming began, unrelated to upcoming video shoot. How I know is irrelevant but I'm 100% positive it was his in the video.

I kinda doubt Kenny would own a boat like than and not have it re-named. Riva is the brand of boat. In the video you can see two people inside in a couple of the scenes where Kenny is on top driving.

Maybe Kenny wanted the Riva name on the boat and got a discount for making a 4 minute commercial for Riva. Then slapped "SS Chesney" on it after the vid.
Got it from a pretty good source out of Ft. Lauderdale that the Riva is still for sale. However there is a smaller Riva docked at Paradise Island same color and 63' and it just happens to be a place where Kenny often docked his SeaRay. But based on the source the boat in the video is not Kenny Chesney's. Just saying.
There are lots of boat that is on sale on Fort Lauderdale. But be sure to have your boat insured in the best insurance company like Boat Insurance Fort Lauderdale for your boat to prolong life.
This video is 100% perfect from start to finish; the yacht, Kenny of course, the model is fantastic in her simplicity, having Kenny's dog in the video, it's all just right-on! The 86' Riva is not Kenny's. In fact, if you google the house they filmed at, you will find the boat docked at a neighbors house. Located on the south side of the same street. About 7 homes down.
I was taking the very over to St Johns on Jan 10, 2015. As we were pulling into St John the Riva was leaving and it sure did look like Kenny and he waved at our ferry. Its like I missed him by 20 minutes on shore. So sad.
That was NOT his boat.. It was a loner yacht just for this video.. Kenny Chesney's yacht at that time was a 63 foot Riva Virtus.. And the Riva used in the video is an 86' RIVA Domino..

Kick back with Kenny Chesney’s Boat Captain Ben cocktail
With summer right around the corner, Kenny Chesney ‘s showing fans how to make his Boat Captain Ben cocktail.
“Hey everybody, it’s Kenny. I am on a day off in the middle of the I Go Back Tour and there is not a cloud in the sky, and I’m just sitting here in the sun, having some fun, and I’m going to make what is called a Boat Captain Ben,” Kenny says in the opening of his Twitter video, before making the cocktail.
The recipe’s pretty simple. All you need is a bottle of Kenny’s Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum and a can of sugar-free Red Bull. While Kenny mixes and sips the drink in his “mama’s fish house cup,” you, of course, are welcome to enjoy it from your cup of choice.

Country-Western Star Kenny Chesney Gets A Little Help From His Friends … For The Benefit Of St. John And Tortola
HOME AT LAST: John McInnis and Kenny Chesney’s boat captain, Ben, head to Jost Van Dyke, an island in the British Virgin Islands. McInnis is president of the Kenny Chesney Love for Love City Foundation, an organization set up in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma to help get aid here.
CRUZ BAY — Flora-Bama owner John McInnis heads back to St. John today, but it’s not for vacation.
McInnis, 39, has traveled to the territory every week since Hurricane Irma devastated the area in early September.
McInnis teamed with his friend, country superstar Kenny Chesney, to deliver disaster relief to residents of St. John.
“We’ve been delivering food, water, generators, medicine, bug spray — all the things they need immediately,” McInnis said. “They have no infrastructure. They’re totally dependent on outside supplies and we’ve been blessed to be able to help supply them since the hurricane.”
McInnis is president of the Kenny Chesney Love for Love City Foundation, an organization set up in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma to help get aid to the Virgin Islands. The group is also delivering supplies to Jost Van Dyke, a small island that is part of the British Virgin Islands.
Chesney has a home in St. John, and McInnis said the Virgin Islands “are like a second home” to him, as well as to his Flora-Bama employees.
“Ever year, we send 30 Flora-Bama employees to St. John,” McInnis said. “I don’t have a home down there, but I rent down there or stay with friends and I’ve always felt at home there.”
The Love for Love City Foundation utilizes private planes, including Chesney’s, to fly emergency supplies from the U.S. mainland to the territory.
The missions are ongoing, McInnis said.
“We’re still operating 24 hours a day,” he said. “We’re buying supplies stateside and literally buying in bulk and shipping everything down in these private planes. I’m going down again (Wednesday). The situation on the ground is horrible. There’s limited communication, so I’m going down there and finding out what’s needed then I’ll come back and get more supplies and ship them. We have a supply chain that we’re operating.”
McInnis’ family has extensive experience in building and contracting, and have built bridges across the United States and worked to rebuild areas after disasters on the mainland, including local and regional disaster’s like Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in 2005.
“My background is in large government contracts,” McInnis said. “So Kenny and I talked and decided I would go down there and do what I’m good at — overseeing disaster projects.”
In 2014, the country star performed at the famous Flora-Bama, which is known as one the nation’s great honky-tonks.
“He’s every humble,” McInnis said of Chesney. “He doesn’t want publicity for himself. He just wants to do what he can to help and keep a spotlight on what is happening there.”

Kenny Chesney Shot ‘Knowing You’ Video in This Massachusetts City

When you think of Kenny Chesney songs, you probably picture the Caribbean, sailboats, sailboards or that bar at the end of the world.
You most likely don't conjure up images of Massachusetts – especially Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Not for nothing, Gloucester is a pretty cool place. I have roots in Gloucester on my mother's side of the family, mainly fishermen and fishing wives.
Gloucester is no Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. So what attracted Kenny Chesney to Gloucester to shoot the video for a hit song?
It was the fishing boats.
The song "Knowing You," co-authored by Adam James, Brett James and Kat Higgins and produced by Chesney with Buddy Cannon, was released on March 15, 2021. The song is included on the 2020 album Here and Now .
The video for "Knowing You," directed by Shaun Silva, was released on March 12, 2021. It was filmed in Gloucester and at sea aboard the Gloucester-based fishing vessel Orion .
Rolling Stone 's Joseph Hudak says, "The cinematic clip finds the country star contemplating loves and lives lost."
Chesney, no stranger to the sea, recalled in a YouTube video how difficult it was for some crew members to shoot the video for "Knowing You."
"One of my favorite environments was being on that fishing boat in Gloucester, Massachusetts in New England," Chesney said.
But Chesney said not everyone enjoyed the experience.
"Now there were some people in the film crew that hadn't necessarily been on the water as much as I had," he said.
Chesney said as the Orion pulled further away from shore, the voyage got tougher for some.
"Now when we got out of Gloucester Harbor and we went about an hour or 45 minutes out into the gray Atlantic Ocean, it was really rough out there for you know, a good while and I could just see it in some of the film crews faces that they were fighting nausea really bad and getting seasick," he said.
"Once you get to that place out there on the boat there's no turning back," Chesney said.
"I'm not saying that was my favorite moment because it wasn't but it's a moment that sticks out a lot and watching them overcome their nausea to try to film a great video, and that's what they did, I was very appreciative," he said. "But that's something that definitely stands out in shooting this film."
The song did ok on the Billboard Country charts but was not one of Chesney's biggest hits.

Kenny Chesney Performs ‘Better Boat’ Live on ‘Good Morning America’
When Kenny Chesney sat down on the set of Good Morning America to perform his contemplative, inspirational new single "Better Boat" on July 31, the superstar had the New York City audience hushed and swaying peacefully to his gentle composition.
Chesney, who strummed an acoustic guitar and was backed up by two more guitarists and a keyboardist, brought a calming wash of peace over the studio, set in bustling Times Square, as he delivered the lyrical narrative of a person trying to repair a damaged life — a sentiment he uses as a metaphor for his experience working to rebuild the U.S. and British Virgin Islands after extensive damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017.
Chesney explained upon the song's release that it had a very special feeling for him in terms of recalling his hurricane relief efforts. “‘Better Boat,’ I think really captures the emotion of that moment—and the months following," he said in a statement. "There’s an acceptance it takes to face those challenges and that uncertainty. The lyric has that line, ‘I ride the waves I can’t control …’ And that’s exactly how this was, and in some ways, still is.”
The album it appears on, Songs for the Saints, released July 27, is a tribute to the islands Chesney has called home for more than 15 years, and captures the spirit and resilience of the people who live there. Chesney has made several significant contributions to this territory in the wake of the hurricane's damage, and has even set up a dedicated charity, Love for Love City Foundation . All proceeds from his album's sales will go to the foundation.
