Partners again for the 2023 Formula 1™ World Championship season.   Sarnico, 09th March, 2023 - A red and aquamarine thread ties together the history and success of both these modern-day legends: Riva and Ferrari symbolise everything iconic and unrivalled about Italian-made products, which thrive on masterful craftsmanship and an extraordinary ability to innovate. This communion of values and goals is confirmed by the presentation of the new Formula 1™ racing car produced by the Maranello-based company for the 2023 season and the announcement that this year too Riva will be official sponsor of Scuderia Ferrari in the Formula 1™ World Championship , now in its 74th year.   The Riva logo will appear on the Ferrari SF-23s and helmets of Scuderia Ferrari's two drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. , sealing a partnership that promises another season of spectacle and excitement.   "Number ones understand each other and teaming up comes naturally to them. Riva and Ferrari are so alike in so many ways, from their supreme style and beauty to their striving for perfection in every detail, that when Charles Leclerc and Carlo Sainz Jr. climb out of their racing cars, they choose our magnificent boats to relax and have fun on," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi . I see this same mindset in Charles and Carlos, and it's a pleasure for our brand to be associated with their sporting endeavours."   The world's most famous yacht and motorsport brands have had a joint presence starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix, the season's first event scheduled for March 3 to 5, and continuing through to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last stage of the Formula 1™ 2023 World Championship held from November 24 to 26.

Riva announces in-build 70m hybrid superyacht

Heritage Italian shipyard Riva has announced a new 70-metre flagship currently under construction at its Ancona facilities. The owner is a "loyal Riva customer" who was initially inspired by the Riva 50 Metri series, the first of which was delivered in 2019.

Due for launch in 2028, the new project will be drawn by Officina Italiana Design and will be a hybrid project with hotel load powered by batteries, allowing for zero-emission mode at anchor and cruising in "silent mode". The Riva 70 Metri will also utilise heat recovery technology, a PTO/PTI system and a more efficient hull design for improved seakeeping.

Details about the project were revealed by Riva’s parent company Ferretti Group during a press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show .

"The Riva 70 Metri promises to set the bar for thrilling experiences in the years to come. She’s a superyacht of timeless beauty that will take the magnificent universe of Riva’s style features and detailing into a new dimension, combining it with cutting-edge navigation and environmental sustainability technology," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. 

The shipyard also provided further details about its current flagship series, the 54-metre Metri, which will see its first hull launch in 2025 , with hull two set for 2026 and hull three set for 2027.

It is the first Riva 70 Metri, the largest flagship superyacht in Riva's history; over 180 years of challenges and successes of the shipyard that brought elegance to modern yachting. The superyacht stands out for her state-of-the-art technology solutions, refined design and peerless comfort. With innovative volumes, elegant lines, a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, Riva 70 Metri combines excellent performance and environmental sustainability in the form of latest generation hybrid propulsion, heat recovery technology and a PTO/PTI system, setting a cutting-edge standard for sustainable yacht making. Great emphasis was also placed on on-board acoustic comfort, thanks to the use of innovative solutions for reducing noise and vibration levels and improving the stabilisation system.

The owner, a loyal Riva customer and a great fan of the brand, worked with the design team to turn a dream into reality, creating a superyacht that, like all Rivas in recent years, is the result of collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the firm founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.

“The sophisticated and extremely selective owner had a very clear idea: to build a timeless boat with classic lines and a green spirit for cruising in a style that fully respects the sea. He had been impressed by the Riva 50METRI and dreamed of a design inspired by it, one dominated by aesthetics and beyond the fashions and market logic that so often influence the creation of a new product. So we embraced this challenge with enthusiasm and conviction, because these values represent our firm’s DNA and form part of our design philosophy,” commented Mauro Micheli, Chief Designer, and Sergio Beretta, CEO at Officina Italiana Design.

Riva 70 Metri will be built at the Riva Superyachts Division in Ancona, the state-of-the-art shipyard occupying almost 80,000 square meters where all yachts from 50 to 90 meters are built. Ancona is home to the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, where steel and aluminium superyachts are built for the Riva, Pershing, CRN and Custom Line brands.

Riva - one of the oldest and most reputable shipyards in Italy. It is named after its creator - Pietro Riva. Skillful boatman founded the shipyard in the mid-19th century. His son Pietro Ernesto multiplied the skills of his father when he introduced piston engines to the the manufacturing of ships. New heir - Serafino Riva - focused on the construction of boats. It was in his time that the company has achieved considerable fame and name Riva was perceived as a sign of quality. In 2000 Riva joined the Ferretti Group. Three years later the shipyard was founded in La Spezia specializing in the production of yachts over 65 feet. Today's range of the company includes super and mega yacht and sport yachts. Five models – one open and four flybridges - are currently built in the La Spezia shipyard.

The company produces sports yachts from 33 to 67.5 feet. The latest sports model Riva - 68 Ego - has an engine capacity of 3,100 horsepower. Riva produces two models of powerboats : a 30-foot Shuttle and 33 -foot Sunriva. New yachts 68 'Ego, 115 ' Athena, Shuttle, 63 'Vertigo, 75 ' Venere and 85 'Opera Super, recently appeared on the shipbuilding market, produced a strong impression on competitors and on customers of Riva Today Riva is a brand with a century and a half legendary history , which can be equaled to concepts such as prestige, privilege, exclusivity and luxury.

The Ferretti Group, one of the world top companies specializing in the design, building and sale of motor yachts, with an amazing portfolio of eight of the most exclusive and prominent brands, is thrilled to announce its participation in the Moscow Boat Show 2013. From 12 to 17 March, two of the Group fleet’s most successful yachts will be presented as absolute premieres for the Russian market: motor yacht Ferretti 530, representing Ferretti Yachts , and the 27-foot Iseo superyacht tender by Riva .

This year’s Moscow Boat Show will also offer the Ferretti Group the opportunity to announce all yachting enthusiasts in Russia and Northern Eurasia a new important achievement in its international growth: the renewal of its exclusive dealership agreement for the Russian Federation with its partner Premium Yachts , one of the leading dealers operating in the boating sector in Russia , which will represent the Ferretti Yachts , Pershing , Itama , Bertram , Riva e Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line brands.

The agreement – which was officially announced today during a press conference attended, among others, by Ferruccio Rossi (Ferretti Group’s CEO), Alexey Kurochkin (Premium Yachts’s President), and Stefano Campanelli (Sales Manager for the EMEA area for Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Mochi Craft and Ferretti Custom Line) – is part of Ferretti Group’s strategy for a further expansion on the European markets offering the best short/medium-term growth perspectives, also thanks to the financial soundness regained following the strategic partnership forged with the Weichai Group.

More specifically, the Russian boating market holds a great potential for the Ferretti Group’s development because of the rapid growth of average wealth among the population and an increasing interest for Made in Italy luxury goods, like Ferretti Group yachts.

Through the renewal of the agreement with Premium Yachts, the Group will further strengthen its highly selected distribution network – which currently includes approximately 60 dealers ensuring the best possible customer care in more than 80 countries worldwide – as well as its presence in the traditional EMEA ( Europe , Middle East , Africa ) area, one of the three macro-regions (besides the America and the Asia-Pacific) into which the Group’s sales structure is divided.

Moreover, in a medium/long-term perspective, the Ferretti Group is expecting an increasing interest on the Russian market not only for flying bridge yachts above 70’ in length, but also towards smaller crafts, both flybridge and open/coupé ones, which are particularly suitable for river cruising or pleasure boating in Russia’s large lakes. Consequently, the renewal of the dealership agreement with Premium Yachts also allows to look ahead at the future aiming to conquer new market segments where less competitors are currently present in terms of both products and geographic location.

The press conference, which was held today at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow, had also the objective of introducing attending journalists and yachting enthusiasts to the main new products launched by the Ferretti Group over the last few months, namely: motor yacht Ferretti 870 , Ferretti 690 yacht , and the project of the new flagship Ferretti 960 superyacht for the Ferretti Yachts brand; luxury yacht Pershing 82 ’ and superyacht Pershing 108’ New Edition for Pershing; Riva 63’ Virtus and the project of the new Riva flagship, 122’ Mythos yacht , as well as the entire range of the Itama, Bertram and Mochi Craft brands.

The yachts launched over the last few months by CRN – the Group’s brand specialising in the construction of steel and aluminium yachts between 40 and 90 metres – were also presented during the conference: the two superyachts: CRN superyacht Jade (60 metres long) and CRN mega yacht Chopi Chopi (80 metres long), the latter being one of the largest pleasure vessels ever built in Italy and the largest one ever built by the Ancona-based shipyard.
