Luxury Superyacht Charters in Australia

Yomira curates bespoke charters that get to the heart of who you are, allowing you to discover the most enchanting corners of the earth in peerless splendour.
Embark on an Antipodean adventure like no other. No strict itineraries. Just luxury, excitement and freedom to explore.
Discover the wonders of Australia with Yomira
The Best Time for a Superyacht Charter in Australia
Because Australia is so vast and varied, different regions have different ideal climates. North Queensland, the most popular charter destination, has two distinct seasons. The dry season runs from May through to October, bringing low humidity, cooling breezes, and glorious sunshine. Cruising conditions in southern Australia are at their best from January to March while locations like the Kimberleys are ideal between May and September.
Typical charters last around 7 days but can be extended at your will. The beauty of a Yomira superyacht charter in Australia is the freedom of choice. Choose where you go and when on a bespoke voyage that is tailored entirely around you. There is no better way to do it.
Australian adventures forâŚ
Family & friends, culture & cuisine, marine discovery, adventure & exploration, mind, body & soul.
Itâs no secret that opportunities for gathering with loved ones for true quality time together can be few and far between. With a private superyacht charter, you get a dedicated space to spend with your nearest and dearest – and some spectacular scenery to boot. Where better to celebrate occasions or important milestones than on a luxury crewed superyacht? Let us help you create unique, treasured memories with family and friends with our bespoke voyages.
Australia offers a honeypot of activities for family and friends. Watersports toys on many superyachts mean there will never be a dull moment as the ocean becomes a playground. Iconic cities provide opportunities for cosmopolitan carousal while marine life is extraordinary. Exploration, exhilaration, relaxation: thereâs ample opportunity for it all on an Australian superyacht charter.
The culture of Australia is as varied as itâs lands. The Whitsundays are known as Ngaro country, reflecting the historical Aboriginal presence in this territory. In fact, archaeological research has pointed to 8,000 years of human habitation here. The best way to learn about it all is from the indigenous Australians themselves, as they take you to sacred spots showcasing incredible art and tell you the stories of their people.
For gastronomical delights, Australia is blessed with a fantastic food and wine industry. Every superyacht will have a world-class chef on board who can tailor menus to showcase Western Australiaâs culinary excellence, including local delicacies like delicate pearl meat. You could even catch your dinner yourself, with plenty of opportunities for fishing oysters, barramundi, and yellow tuna.
At Yomira, we have a pure love for the ocean. Sustainable sailing and ethical cruising are at the heart of who we are. This is reflected in our dedication to providing experiences centred around learning and conservation. Australia is one of the best locations on Earth to this end, with the incomparable Great Barrier Reef, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
We can arrange exclusive access to one of the most magical experiences in the world: swimming with Minke whales. This is a rare opportunity, only available in this region in June and July, to connect with one of the most majestic creatures on the planet. With our contacts and experience, we can provide you with top-of-the-range snorkelling and diving equipment and a dedicated guide that will make your experience utterly inimitable.
And itâs not just the Great Barrier Reef that holds natural wonders. Magnificent arrays of marine life abound in the Whitsundays, 74 islands to the south of the Great Barrier Reef, including 6 species of marine turtles that are all listed as threatened. Yomira allows you to explore our natural world fully and respectfully.
Australia abounds with adventurous exploration opportunities. From the feral outbacks of the Kimberley to the tropical isles of the Whitsundays, itâs not just world-class dive spots to explore. Hike Whitsunday peak to reach sweeping 360 degree views over Cid harbour. Swim in the rainforest lagoons found in the Kimberley. Experience horizontal waterfalls and imposing rock formations jutting into the sky across the coastlines.
With our unrivalled list of inland contacts, we can arrange personal guided tours with Aboriginal people to take you to rarely seen spots, regaling you with incredible history and stories. If you want a truly unique view, allow us to take you on a helicopter tour to reveal the world-famous Heart Reef, one of the most photographed spots on earth. Untamed natural beauty is at its most visceral in Australia, and we can get you the best view.
A luxury superyacht charter in Australia gives you the opportunity for serene relaxation as you glide through sensational scenery in catered splendour. Refresh and recuperate with sumptuous spa treatments from dedicated staff on board.
When you venture into the natural beauty, whether it’s underwater or ashore, a feeling of true freedom will wash over you. Beach barbecues as the sun sets, and you have nowhere to be, give you an incomparable experience of serenity and liberation. Whether you want the idyllic luxury of the Hamilton Island Yacht Club or the thrill of wild isolation on the Kimberley, a superyacht charter in Australia has it all.
Australian Superyacht Charters: Our Favourite Cruising Areas
Australiaâs far-reaching coastline makes for some of the most stunning charter experiences. Distinct areas across the huge land each have their own unique flavour. Here are some of our favourites:
North Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef
A superyacht charter in Australia allows you to take in one of Seven the Wonders of the World, the Great Barrier Reef. A North Queensland charter is a simply unsurpassable experience, where youâll be able to swim amongst an extravagant pageant of marine life and across remarkable corals that you wonât find anywhere else on earth. The remote Ribbon Reefs provide fantastic opportunities for underwater discovery. Diving around this region is legendary, with marine life macro and micro thronging at every turn in the pristine waters. Inland, there are wild bush walks with dedicated Aboriginal guides who can take you to sacred rock art for a different flavour of adventure. This is the quintessential Australian experience.
Whitsunday Islands
In the Whitsundays, 74 islands to the south of the Great Barrier Reef National Park in Queensland, platinum sands and aquamarine waters provide the sublime colour palette for your voyage. In the balmy waters, youâll find a bounty of marine life. Witness and hand-feed the majestic Hump Headed Maori Wrasse or snorkel amongst the 1,500 species of fish.
The teeming reefs of the Whitsundays contain a third of the worldâs soft corals, providing endless wonder for your underwater sojourns. Back on deck, you can gaze at the dolphins dashing the waves by your superyacht and feed the sea eagles that soar nearby. Tropical sunrises, lush bushland, and kayaking through beautiful mangroves: this is an Australian island experience you wonât want to miss.
The Kimberleys
If a raw, untouched wilderness excites you, venture on charter to the Kimberley, a northwest pocket of Australia thatâs utterly secluded. Rugged outback landscapes with roaming wildlife will be your backdrop while you explore the pristine waters and sandstone gorges carved by spectacular waterfalls. Exotic birdlife soars in the skies while prehistoric saltwater crocodiles and barramundi make their home here.
We can take you on an exhilarating excursion to the Buccaneer Archipelago, where magnificent âgiant tidesâ are generated by swirling whirlpools and crashing overflows. Then, the Horizontal Falls. This natural phenomenon is one of the most astonishing sights to behold. Two narrow gorges create huge tidal movements as water passes through them, producing a waterfall effect as the water banks up against one side of the narrow cliff passage, only to be repeated when the tide turns. It is unlike anything you have ever seen.
Thereâs also rich cultural history to immerse yourself in, too. With our unique contacts, you can learn the stories of the Aboriginal people and view sacred sites where caves are adorned by arresting rock art.

Celestial V70 named as provisional overall winner of this year's Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
By Madeleine Rojahn
Topic: Sailing
Sam Haynes â Commodore of race organiser, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia â sailed Celestial V70 to second over the line at this year's Sydney to Hobart race line on Saturday, with the yacht later named provisional overall winner.
This year's race was marred by the deaths of two sailors and difficult sailing conditions.
What's next?
The charter won the 628-nautical-mile race on handicap in 1 day, 16 hours, 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
New South Wales yacht Celestial V70 has been named the provisional overall winner of this year's Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race .
The yacht â owned and skippered by Sam Haynes, Commodore of race organiser the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) â won the 628-nautical-mile race on handicap in 1 day, 16 hours, 10 minutes and 20 seconds.
It is the second time a yacht skippered by Commodore Haynes has won the Tattersalls Cup, after Celestial claimed victory in 2022.

Speaking to media, Haynes acknowledged the deaths of sailors Roy Quaden and Nick Smith during this year's race, and the "challenging" race forecast, which favoured his vessel.
"We were quite pleased that we gave ourselves a chance with the type of sailing that we knew this boat was capable of doing with the crew that we have," Haynes said.

Haynes said his crew in the chartered boat, a Volvo Open 70, navigated Bass Strait with some difficulty, with the channel's treacherous reputation standing strong this year.
"We negotiated that transition between the northerly breeze, which was quite obviously strong breezes, and then into that transition to the front, and positioned the boat really well for the crossing of Bass Strait. But it was very hard."
Haynes says the boat was charging at 40 knots, plus, at times. ( Supplied: HYPE TV )
Haynes said Celestial V70 was built for the conditions it faced on Bass Strait.
"On this boat, we have a yacht that's powering at a high speed because it's built for that type of sailing," he said.
"The amount of water coming over the deck and the waves crashing over it, it steers through waves. It doesn't skip across them that much, it just takes it all on.
"[It] was strong wind and big waves, but it was also the boat's design and the way we were sailing that brought it all together."
Haynes was joined by his son, William, who last raced the Sydney to Hobart with his dad in 2016 at age 18.
Decision to take inshore route 'paid off', skipper says
A highlight for Haynes was celebrating his second Tattersall Cup win with mostly the same crew, who had "been through a lot of different sailing" together.
"It's just so much joy, I suppose, of being able to perform at that level and get to the point where you're able to hold that trophy once more," Haynes said.
Haynes said a decision to take a more "inshore" route on meeting the Tasmanian coastline "paid off".

"There's a confluence zone there where you've got these sorts of strong westerlies. They're trying to wrap around the island, coming from the north-west and at the top at Eddystone, and then around the bottom of Tasmania coming from the south-west.
"And where they meet, you would have seen a lot of boats stop. It's one of the features of the race to be able to work your way through that."
"But we didn't feel we had a comfortable margin, pretty much until the Derwent River."

He said this year's loss of life "balanced out some of the joy".
"As a competitor, as a sailor, and for sport, anything that happens of this nature needs to be looked at."
LawConnect took line honours for a second year in a row, finishing just after 2:30am on Saturday, but withheld overt displays of revelry out of respect for their deceased competitors.
The supermaxi, skippered by tech millionaire Christian Beck, had a finish time of 1 day, 13 hours, 35 minutes and 13 seconds.

Supermaxi yachts eye record in gruelling Sydney-Hobart race
SYDNEY â Forecast favourable winds could see the prestigious Sydney-Hobart race record challenged by the supermaxi yachts when the often-brutal bluewater classic sets sail on Dec 26.
LawConnect won from Comanche in 2023 by just 51 seconds in a thrilling finale after a treacherous 628 nautical mile (1,163km) slog, with the two 100-footers again set to battle for line honours.
Two other supermaxis are entered â Wild Thing and Maritimo â among a fleet of 105.
The big boats are predicted to get off to a flying start from Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day, before they head down Australiaâs east coast and then tackle the notorious Bass Strait towards the Tasmanian state capital Hobart.
Comanche navigator Juan Vila is confident of a fast race if the long-range forecast of north-easterly winds holds.
âIn our mind is whether the conditions will lead to possibly break a record,â said the Spaniard, who added that depending on what the weather does âwe feel that our boat is quite, quite strongâ.
Weather is a critical factor in the race, which was first held in 1945, with winds often shifting rapidly in direction and intensity.
In 1998, when a deep depression exploded over the fleet in the Bass Strait, six men died, five boats sank and 55 sailors were rescued.
âThereâs a lot of sections through the race and a lot of weather phenomena that can affect the strategies,â said Vila.
âItâs a really exciting race. Itâs really complicated, but thatâs why it makes it very interesting for navigators.â
Four-time champion Comanche is the current race record holder after it surged over the finish line in one day, 9 hours, 15 minutes and 24 seconds to set a new mark in 2017.
Alive, the 2023 overall winner of the Tattersall Cup, which takes into account boat size and other factors, is back to defend its title.
Other previous overall winners in the fleet include Centennial 7 (formerly Celestial), Love and War and Unicoin, which won as Assassin.
Love and War, a three-time winner, is being skippered for the first time by Simon Kurts, son of owner Phillip Kurts.
There are six international competitors including French yacht Cocody, Poulpito from New Caledonia and the Hong Kong-based Antipodes.
The Filipino-crewed Centennial 7, Caro from New Zealand and American challenger Bacchanal are also entered.
Maritimo Katwinchar, built in 1904, will become the oldest boat in the ocean raceâs 79-year history when it sets sail, co-skippered by 46-time Sydney-Hobart veteran Michael Spies.
The number of women taking part continues to rise. Apart from those crewing, there are 16 female owners or skippers/co-skippers. AFP

Inclusive Sydney to Hobart yacht crew ‘make waves’
When James Hunter lost his eyesight in 2015, someone suggested he take up big yacht sailing.
Nine years later he has completed two Sydney to Hobart races aboard MWF Kayle, which is part-crewed by people living with a disability.
“In my sighted life in Canberra I sailed in dinghies,” Hunter said on Monday after the 53-footer crossed the finish line.
“For me (yachting) was a marriage made in heaven because it took me back to something I loved and it got me involved in a sport.”
MWF Kayle, a custom-built ocean racer, helps the Making Waves Foundation deliver sailing programs to 4000 children.
The boat has a left-half design, allowing for wheelchair access and greater accessibility.
Queensland’s David Preston, who lives with cerebral palsy, was on board for a first crack at the 628 nautical mile race.
“I thought it would be tough but not as tough as it actually was,” he said.
“I bashed some ribs on day two (but) the main thing was the camaraderie because everyone is looking after each regardless of their advantage.”
MWF Kayle finished in 28th spot with a time of three days, 18 hours, 31 minutes and 26 seconds.
Hunter said the sailing was physically and emotionally tough, particularly on the second day when the crew was close to retiring because of a flooded engine.
“When the going gets tough and you’re struggling, you need to work with other people to make it all possible,” he said.
“We looked after the boat, we looked after each other and we achieved it.”
Hunter’s initial challenge was becoming familiar with the yacht, and then finding a method to sail.
“It’s all sound, and familiarity with what is going on around me,” he said.
“I can use all my other senses to essentially do what other people are able to do. Where I need to fine tune it, I ask other people for input.
“When I first got on the boat, I spent the best part of three hours on my hands and knees exploring.
“You have to get the muscle memory, from there you’re able to have confidence with your body.”
Hunter, whose main role was at the back of the yacht trimming the sail, said the race was about more than the crew.
“What we’re trying to do is to create an opportunity for kids to be given the permission to dream big,” he said.
Skipper John Whitfeld has competed in 30 Sydney to Hobarts but not on a “gun” yacht for some time.
“I’d like to think (this boat) gives some awareness about what people with disabilities can do,” he said.
“We may not be line honours (winners) or whatever, but we’re in there. We face the same conditions.”
