My wife and I did the sunset cocktail cruise today and it was awesome. One of best experiences here. We’ve done the submarine, the helicopter tour, waterfalls, etc but this has been easily the best adventure for the price. Completely worth it! The crew was amazing and the views were unreal! DO IT!

NOAA cautions against swimming with wild dolphins, as it may constitute harassment, which is illegal under federal law. Additionally, per NOAA,  “manta rays are inherently vulnerable ” and are on the Threatened Species list; swimming near them day or night disrupts their natural feeding patterns.

The Via Mia is a fully restored antique yacht located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The worldly 61-foot wooden yacht was constructed in 1929 in Stockton, California. Built for luxury, she traveled the world before crossing the ocean to Hawai‘i where she currently resides in beautiful Waikiki.

If her teak could speak, Vida Mia would not only tell stories about movie stars and politicians who enjoyed her lap of luxury basking in the sunsets off Waikiki, but of the countless grand times of families and friends who created lifetime memories aboard this gorgeous, iconic vessel.

The Vida Mia has been on the silver screen starring in movies dating all the way back to the 50's.

Nearly everyone you meet on the island has a story of an event or adventure on the Vida Mia. 

She had made Hawaii home for over 60 years.

The Vida Mia served her country during World War II. She arrived in Hawai‘i after serving as an unofficial escort of the famed Transpacific sailing race in 1963, although it’s said perhaps the Transpacific racing fleet was really escorting her.

Our experienced maritime staff has traveled the world restoring and preserving old sailing vessels and has extensive experience with classic yachts and wooden boats.

We take great pride as stewards of this historic vessel.  Our staff is hands-on and personable. We have a loyal customer base here in Hawaii.

We are conveniently located near all the major hotels in Honolulu. We share the harbor with the nearby Prince Waikiki , Ilikai Hotel , and the Hilton Hawaiian Village . If you are staying at the Royal Hawaiian , Outrigger Waikiki, or Sheraton Waikiki we are a short 10-15 minute walk along the beach. Many of our hotel guests take a morning stroll over to the harbor or rent a Biki bike at one of their kiosks. There is a nice bike path along the beach; you can catch it right at the end of Lewers Street or take the scenic route and cut through the path at the Hale Koa Hotel .

For guests staying on other parts of the island, we offer transportation recommendations.

There is ample parking near the vessel. Parking in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor is convenient and affordable.

We recommend shared rides or taxi service for cruises that depart on Friday evenings.

Traveling at the age of 20 with your friends is a guaranteed fun time but when you do amazingly fun excursions like the Makani Catamaran, it just makes your vacations a thousand times better! My friends and I had such a great time thanks to your amazing staff. They’re very nice and very helpful. I’ve been on the catamaran three times and every time it just seems to get better and better. I highly recommend Makani Catamaran, MAHALO!!! oh and we saw turtles and DOLPHINS on our sail, IT WAS AMAZING!!!

This was by far the best catamaran we have been on! The staff is AMAZING. The crew is so helpful and funny. They make you feel like your part of their crew for sure. We loved spending time on the water and hearing all they had to say about the islands and animals. The captain was great! We will be doing this again!

We saw a sea turtle and a group of dolphins followed us for a while and did some "tricks". No whales on this trip but the crew made the experience fun by telling jokes and talking about the animals.

I can't say enough nice things about our trip on the Makani Catamaran! The staff were warm and friendly, the drinks we're tasty and the views were breathtaking. We had the opportunity to stand in the Captain's Galley and take photos. Captain Jon was so accommodating and thoughtful - he even offered to take our picture. This is one experience you do not want to miss out on! Highly recommend.

The boat was in great shape, staff was very professional and committed to safety. I appreciated that more than anything. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting the Island, the views are well worth it. Great value trip!

So, full disclosure I was pretty skeptical that this would be fun at all. In fact, this was totally my wifes idea. That said, of all the things we did in Hawaii, this ended up being one of my favorites. We had been doing pushing ourselves pretty hard for several days up to this point and it was just really nice to sit back for a couple hours with drinks in hand and hang out as a family. We sat on the netting in the front and our 9,7, and 5 year old kids thought it was awesome to watch the water go by underneath and at one point even had some dolphins following us. 100% would suggest and will definitely do again.

I am so happy that I booked this during our trip to Hawaii. The crew was nice, hospitable, and very engaging. They made the sail super fun for everyone on board. Our captain was even able to show us sea turtles and a whale, even though we were not promised that when booking! Plus there was a full service bar and the drinks were awesome! I would definitely recommend to everyone. It is definitely worth it.

The captain and his mate were outstanding in their service and friendliness. We snorkeled out at sea and they had a guy in the water protecting us. They provided a clean ship which shows pride of ownership. We plan to come back next year and maybe drop a fishing line which cruising. Found out later our wives think these guys are hot.
