Captain Dick Stuart and Chef/Steward Kim Richards combine their love for each other, love of sailing, and commitment to exceptional hospitality to guarantee guests wonderful memories aboard DEEP BLUE. They are passionate about the experience they deliver, cultivating a feeling of adventure and joy, that is sure to last far beyond your time in their care. Captain Dick Stuart Captain Dick Stuart, a mechanical engineer by training, enjoyed a successful career in construction sales management. He started his sailing career at the early age of 10 in an El Toro on Lafayette Reservoir in Northern California. Growing up, much of his time was spent sailing on San Francisco Bay and extensively bareboat chartering throughout the Caribbean. Captain Dick, in preparation for what he thought was a “retirement dream plan” continued to hone his sailing skills over the years. He holds a 100 TON MASTERS WITH SAILING ENDORSEMENT, an FCC Marine Radio Operators Certification and a Dive Instructor Certification. Captain Dick has an excellent reputation as “the troubleshooting ninja”, and uses his knowledge of mechanical systems to anticipate all the “what ifs.” Safety is Captain Dick’s priority for his guests, but FUN is his second! An adventure seeker and water lover, he moved to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in 2017 and loves sailing the beautiful aquamarine waters and island hopping. Captain Dick welcomes all guests with his famous Captain’s Cocktails nightly! He is an avid Cribbage player and will challenge the best! Chef/Stew Kim Richards Kim’s love for sailing began in 2012,the first time she set foot on a catamaran in the BVI. She has been“hooked” ever since! After completed sailing classes in Colorado and California, Kim captained several catamarans in Mexico and the Caribbean. She delights in creating the ultimate pampering venue for guests and sharing the magical experience of sailing the beautiful Caribbean waters! An accomplished business owner, motivational speaker and author, she understands the ultimate importance of customer service and has a keen eye for personal detail. Dear Captain Dick and Chef/First Mate Kim, First things first: I wanna thank you both with all my heart—or as we say back home, from the bottom of my Talladega-loving heart—for the most unbelievable two weeks out on the shimmering seas of Antigua. If cruising were a NASCAR race, y’all just took the checkered flag and did a victory lap in a golden speedboat. Captain Dick, you steered us through those waters like I handle my Chevy on a racetrack—smooth, fast, and making it look easy. Every turn of the boat was like hitting the perfect drift. And Kim, lord have mercy, your cooking had more flair than a pit road on race day. I swear, those meals could win championships. They fueled us up better than my crew chief does before the final laps. Between the sunsets that looked like they were painted just for us, the laughter we shared, and the peace of being out there with nothing but the blue around us, I felt like I was in one of those fancy TV commercials. Except it was real life, and y’all were the stars of the show. So, from the depths of my racing soul, thank you for every moment, every meal, and every memory. We might not have been going 200 mph, but I’d say we were flying all the same. Let’s do it again sometime—shake and bake!

We recently had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable weeks sailing around Antigua aboard the magnificent ´Deep Blue,´ under the expert care of Captain Dick and Chef Kim. This experience has been hands down the most incredible vacation I’ve ever had. You welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we’re family. I’m hooked for life and can’t wait to share this experience with the rest of my friends and family.

Some moments in life can’t be captured in words. To say that my experience with Captain Dick and Kim will be etched on my heart forever, is an understatement.

Where do I begin? This was truly the most magical adventure. Thank you for embracing our silly group. It couldn’t have been a better trip, and I will never forget it. When we first started the trip, I could have never imagined the incredible time we had. You two made it so unbelievable, and I can’t thank you enough.

What a great crew to now call family. We have totally enjoyed all the details Kim and Dick have done to make sure we all enjoyed our trip.

What an amazing experience this has been. You both went above and beyond to make this charter so memorable. Captain Dick made us feel so safe with his boat skills, and we enjoyed the chance to go diving. We loved the itinerary and knowledge of each anchorage we visited. Chef Kim was the perfect chef and hostess. She anticipated our needs and made it happen. Her food was top notch from filet mignon, seared tuna, tiramisu, and a chocolate mousse to die for. I would recommend Kim and Dick as crew to anyone looking for a fabulous time in the Caribbean.

The 58 foot Leopard Catamaran is fantastic, Captain Dick is outstanding at the helm and his wife Kim made fantastic food and beverage. They are simply wonderful hosts and we cannot wait to return. She’s a past winner at the ShowBoats International Design Awards for Best Semi-Displacement Yacht of over 40m. This all-aluminum tri deck motoryacht built by Oceanco in 1996 as Ultimate - designed by the “A: Group with a range of 2,800 nautical miles. Twin 2250hp MTU engines give Deep Blue II a cruising speed of 15 knots; she achieves a top speed of approximately 19 knots. DEEP BLUE II’s Paolo Rossi interior accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms including a full beam main deck master suite. Her 2007/2012 refits include (to name but a few highlights): •Fabrics, loose wood furnishing and new galley appliances •All vessel systems replaced, navigation systems duplicated, updated electronics and A/V •New paint, W-5 on mains and generators rebuilt •Quantum zero-speed stabilizers serviced and underwater lights replaced with LED •Skylounge deck extended.

It also includes logbook functionality, auto-logging (via AMCS), purchase order management and detailed maintenance reporting. With real-time insights into the vessel's condition and maintenance program, it helps prevent over-purchasing and simplifies the organisation of shipyard deliverables. It guarantees owners retain a higher value of their precious assets. Designed for ease of use, chief engineers and crew members can manage maintenance tasks efficiently with minimum training.

Robust safety management

With strict ISM (International Safety Management) standards, DeepBlue’s safety module ensures your yacht meets them with ease, reducing the workload and anxiety associated with safety audits. It provides an overview of the yacht’s safety compliance status, easy access to procedures, incident recording, ISM reporting, emergency contact database, etc. The module is designed to facilitate communication between the Designated Person Ashore and the officers onboard that raise questions and obtain answers with in-built tracking records.

Effective inventory management

Allowing you to manage all types of items on board, this crucial module features a detailed visual catalogue, optimised to track various kinds of items, such as wine stock, artworks, as well as any simple items. BP318 BOTIN 85′ DEEP BLUE LAUNCHED!

  – April 20th 2020

D eep Blue, a Botin Partners designed, King Marine built 85′ yacht, has been recently launched, exploring a new chapter in the Maxi racing arena. Deep Blue is destined to fill the gap between custom-built record-breakers such as Comanche 100′, and the 72-footers that are on the smaller scale of the Maxi class such as Bella Mente and Cannonball.

The carefully selected team assembled by Terry Halpin to design and launch Deep Blue included more than 110 people from 11 different nationalities.  Project Manager Micky Costa, with his extensive network, was also an essential part of the project, creating unique parts for this project. Pure Engineering played a big role in delivering the platform’s strength and stiffness while keeping the weight in check.
