Great food, Gigi was an outstanding server and tended to us very well. The views were amazing and our food came out very quickly and was at the perfect temperature. Really hoping Gigi gets the one-thousand dollars, because after the way she served us, she earned it.
Gigi was an amazing server. Our food was so delicious and it came really quickly. Go get that money!
Gigi took great care of us!! The food, atmosphere and vibe was excellent. Gigi just made us feel special on our visit. Her service is top notch!! Thank you we had a Fantastic Time!! My new favorite place :)
It's been almost six years since my last review and lots has happened since 2018. Two disasters, hurricane Sally and Covid have been challenging for all of the Gulf Coast businesses. Flora-Bama Yacht Club has bounced back and is better than ever. After having dinner with my honey and our guests from Memphis I realized it was time for an update so here we go. Flora-Bama Yacht Club is a popular waterfront destination located in Orange Beach, Alabama, near the Florida- Alabama state line. It is a part of the Flora-Bama Lounge, Package, and Oyster Bar, which is a legendary beach bar known for its live music, delicious seafood, and fun atmosphere. The Yacht Club is a newer addition to the Flora-Bama family, but it has quickly become a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike, we visit here regularly. The Flora-Bama Yacht Club was established in 2013 and is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, with nice views of the water and the surrounding landscape. It features indoor and outdoor dining areas, a bar, and a stage for live music performances. The Yacht Club also has a private beach area where guests can relax and enjoy the sun and sand. This makes it an ideal location for a day of boating, beachcombing, and dining. You can bring your boat here!! One of the unique features of the Flora-Bama Yacht Club is its menu, which features a variety of seafood dishes, including oysters, shrimp, crab, and fish. The Yacht Club also offers a selection of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, as well as a full bar with a wide variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. The menu focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the chefs use their creativity and expertise to create delicious and innovative dishes. In addition to good food and drinks, the Flora-Bama Yacht Club also offers a unique atmosphere. The decor is nautical-themed, with plenty of wood and rope accents, and the large windows and outdoor seating areas allow guests to enjoy the beautiful views of the bay and intercoastal waterway. The Yacht Club also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including charity fundraisers, holiday celebrations, and live music performances. My favorites are the Greek Nachos which are fried wonton chips smothered in a spinach-feta-cream sauce topped with grilled Gulf shrimp, tomatoes, crumbled feta, Kalamata olives, peppadews, banana peppers, green onion and red onion, so good! I also really like the Crab & Parmesan Hash Puppies that are deep-fried hashbrowns, local blue crab and mashed potatoes folded with Parmesan and Créole seasoning served with chipotle bacon, delicious! Their burgers and fresh choices are all pretty darn good. Bottom line: The Flora-Bama Yacht Club is a fantastic destination for anyone looking for a fun and unique waterfront experience. Whether you're looking to enjoy a delicious seafood meal, relax on the private beach, or listen to some great live music, the Yacht Club has something for everyone. With its stunning location, great food and drinks, and lively atmosphere, it's no wonder that the Flora-Bama Yacht Club has become one of the most popular spots on the Gulf Coast. Thanks so much! We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review and we hope to have you back again real soon!
To be fair this is a complex of places, there are several buildings on both sides of the street with at least 5 stages inside & out with a few choices of dining, drinking, shopping. entertainment and even Sunday services under a big ass tent on the beach. You can stop into the package store apart from all of these choices for some cold ones to go and your first shot at lottery tickets if you are arriving from Alabama and there is a full sevice marina with rentals of all kinds. I first found this place in 1993 and it really hasn't changed except for a bigger shopping selection of fun shirts, jackets, cozies and souvenirs and of course the menus have changed, even some of the music acts are still the same because their just that good. Be sure and check out Big Earl & the sexual biscuits, they're great (spoiler alert Big Earl is actually Jack Robetson who had songs on Billboard charts before he left the Nashville scence for the sunny Gulf coast) I have been to Sunday services, music downstairs, upstairs, outside on the lagoon at night and I've had food in the Yacht club and the grille. BTW don't let yacht club scare you because there is nowhere you won't feel right at home in your shorts & flip flops. As for the eatin', well bottom line it is very very good!! The service is always great and by the beach atmosphere is terrific and the food at every venue is terrific! Lobster corn dogs, crab & shrimp hushpuppies, grouper and beignet fries all excellent. From bartenders to hosts to servers I have always felt welcome and well taken care of. I could go on and on about lots of details but if you like to have fun then there's something at this place for just about anyone. They even have a big area under one of the tents out back with free bingo and music, oh yeah make that 6 stages LOL. I am not a big drinker, I know shocker, but I can sip on some non-alcoholic brews, sit by the beach, listen to a few different bands, get dinner and start all over again and finish the evening on a couch out by the lagoon with my feet in the sand while the band plays under the stars. Yep it's all there and nope I did not get paid for this commercial LOL it's all that and a big fat 5 star!
So we showed up and had a thirty minute wait... yeah that's expected get over it, if you don't like it leave. That's what I say. What place down here that's GOOD are you going to get a table the second you walk in the door... please tell me?!? The group I was with complained the whole time but that's actually not my problem. If I could give them zero stars for restaurant guest I would. Of course it's hot you're on the beach but let's be real that's what most of us come for. The music in my opinion isn't that bad and actually sounds out all the loud drunk girls who laugh too loud. Down to the real stuff. I've eaten here since before I could walk in a straight line. The raw tuna is killer and if you don't like fish I DONT CARE you'll love this. (I'm pregnant and was very disappointed I couldn't have any.) raw oysters are fresh yet small but what do you expect for not farmed oysters... Service is slow but they are busy. Don't come here if you don't know how to tip. These people work to dang hard and try their best with a smile on their face. I had the strimp po boy and they loaded that thing up. Definitely got your moneys worth on it. The blackened chicken penne is better than the one I whip up at home and I'm Italian :,(

Glad you enjoyed your visit! Come back and see us!
I was really hesitant to come due to me not being that "Swifty Fake Country chick you see wearing shorts and cowboy boots that never stepped in sh!t". I came to see Wes Loper & Dan Sullivan play. Well we got a rock star of a waitress in Tina! The one and only Tina! What an amazing lady that deserves the world! So sweet, lots of patience and a sweet smile! We had 4 more people join us and she just rolled with it! Oh and the Bushwackers charbroiled oysters & Hummus were good too!
Hummus and a Bushwacker
This place is great but last week it was so hot it was unbearable their fans need to be high speed!! I was just dripping sweat from no breeze. Food of course is always great- the chargrilled oysters are a classic choice to get and the coconut shrimp app is perfectly cooked and crispy comes with 6 of them. The crab claws were way better in their lemon sauce then getting them fried in my opinion made it so easy to eat and flavors all there. Tacos are a good choice but I'm not sure if the aioli or what it was on there made it too spicy for me. So be aware. Get the bushwhacker with the peanut butter whiskey floater it's a great drink to attempt to cool you down!

Hi Ivana! Thanks for the 5 stars and we are super glad the bushwacker was able to cool you down!
I wasnt sure what to expect when coming here but the bloody mary was great! I sucked it down and all the fixings on top were amazing! The best thing we ordered was the greek flatbread. It was huge!! The tacos were not bad but my aioli in the shrimp tacos was a little too spicy for my liking. Other than that food was fantastic! Theres plenty of parking all around and its free, its all gravel so just be careful. Service was slow. Our uncle was getting a little aggravated about it since it was before the church crowd and there wasnt many people there. The waitress was kind and food/drinks came out quick. Its the perfect beach spot for lunch or a snack and you can bring your boat up right to the sand.
Food was fresh and the Bushwackers knocked it out of the park! Great smooth blend. The server, Tina, made our experience fun! We had 7 ladies and she took care of each of us with ease. Great service and fresh and flavorful food!
Unfortunately I left my phone at home when visiting Flora-Bama. What an amazing meal. I ordered the crab claws and calamari for appetizers! Highly recommend both. For dinner I had the Ahi tuna Nachos! OHHHHEMMMMMGEEEEE!!! I think I wanna go back and get more! So delicious. My partner had the Fish tacos and those were just as amazing. Service was a tad bit slow but overall great. Seemed she had a few too many tables. Ambiance is nice and welcoming. We shall return!

Restaurant Review: Flora-Bama Yacht Club
The Flora-Bama is hardly a hidden gem. Visitors to the Gulf Coast have been enjoying their cocktails and shots for more than 50 years. The bar on the state line definitely gets its share of the millions of tourists who visit the Alabama beaches each year. We natives either go regularly or avoid it completely, depending on what we consider a good time.
What is surprising, however, is the cuisine served up at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club just across the street from the original bar. Since the restaurant’s opening four years ago, Chef Chris Sherrill has been sourcing high quality local seafood and produce and preparing dishes in a way that is rarely seen at casual beach establishments. The menu features Southern coastal fare, with something for every taste and budget. Amid staples, such as fried shrimp platters and oyster po’boys, there are items such as Hawaiian-inspired yellowfin tuna poke, grilled shrimp nachos on crisp wonton chips, unusual fish options (tripletail, for example) and seasonal vegetables.
The extra steps taken in the kitchen set this place apart from the rest of the sandy shacks. Chef Sherrill makes his own shrimp stock for the base of his gumbo, and he then steals ladles of the finished gumbo broth to turn his plain rice into a creamy, Cajun risotto-like side dish. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the “you hook ’em, we cook ’em” menu option, and it can’t possibly get fresher than that.
From the get-go, Sherrill wanted to create a place that was unpretentious and relaxed, where guests could enjoy fine dining in their flip-flops. You can’t beat the view overlooking Old River toward the homes of Ono Island with paddle boarders and dolphins passing by. On jam-packed holiday weekends, the little beach at the Yacht Club is two boats deep with folks ordering up cocktails and enjoying the afternoon. But at other times, the place is as relaxing as it gets. A few kids dig in the sand while grown-ups relax in Adirondack chairs with their toes in the water. Lunch is long over, and yet they are unable to climb into the car; the urge to unwind is too strong. Huge sun sails stretch over the sandy patio area, providing shade and mirroring the colors of the sea in architectural angles. Music wafts from the outdoor stage seven days a week in season, and cafe lights twinkle above. Not much to complain about here.
Chef Sherrill, a member of MB’s current class of Forty Under 40 , is a bottomless pit of energy who works long hours in the kitchen, competes in and promotes numerous chef cook-offs, and almost single-handedly lured the World Food Championships to the Alabama Gulf Coast. As if that wasn’t enough, he also cofounded the nonprofit NUISANCE Group with fellow chefs to promote the use of underutilized, invasive, so-called trash seafood. That’s about as local and sustainable as it gets.
Perhaps a fruity goombay smash cocktail and deep-fried shrimp are just what the doctor ordered for your vacation, or perhaps you seek something a little lighter and more refined. Either way (and we do love ’em both), the Flora-Bama Yacht Club should hit the spot for your next trip to the beach.
On the Menu
Greek Shrimp Nachos This creative take on traditional snack food hits every flavor note. It’s a colorful platter of grilled Gulf shrimp over crispy wonton chips drizzled with decadent spinach feta cream sauce. The chef adds in some salty feta crumbles, peppadews, banana peppers, tomatoes, olives and more to create a rich and decidedly Mediterranean taste.
Yellowfin Tuna Poke Fresh Gulf yellowfin tuna is chopped and marinated in a sweet and spicy sesame soy chili vinaigrette, then drizzled with wasabi cream and hoisin sauce. With a big pile of wonton chips on the side for scooping, there’s plenty to share and lots to love about this dish.
Blackened Gulf Tripletail A favorite local fish, tripletail (or blackfish) is blackened and served over creamy Cajun dirty rice that Chef Sherrill prepares like a risotto. Throw in some seasonal vegetables with tasty grill marks and finish it with an “Orleans” sauce, and you’ve got a fresh but hearty dish with plenty of smoky flavor.
Beignet Fries Fresh beignet dough is sliced thin and deep fried to perfection. This lily is then gilded three-fold with a dusting of powdered sugar, a drizzle of white chocolate ganache and a smattering of caramel sauce. These addictive dessert fries are over the top.
