Tricat 30. Le trimaran rapide et confortable pour toutes le navigations

Le spécialiste du trimaran à bras repliables, Tricat, a présenté le Tricat 30, en 2016. Le chantier breton est monté en puissance avec ce trimaran de croisière de 9m. Présentation d’un multicoque qui a tout pour plaire, à tout le monde.

Le chantier Tricat, dirigé par Antoine HOUDET, et créé en 2003, débute son histoire avec l e Tricat 22 puis le Tricat 25, sortie en 2006. Depuis 2016, le chantier propose un 30 pieds, le Tricat 30, qui est proposé dans l’esprit historique du chantier. Une philosophie basée sur le plaisir de la voile sportive sur un trimaran sécurisant.

Tricat 30, la croisière en famille et le plaisir de la voile

Le Tricat 30 est donc un multicoque, trimaran, qui offre de véritables sensations de glisse (des pointes à 20nds ont été effectuées dés les premiers essais). Il possède le même caractères que ses petits frères, les Tricat 20 et Tricat 6.90 . Mais attention, si ce multicoque est vif et rapide, il est tout autant familiale et reste manœuvrable en solitaire. Et c’est là sont point fort. Se faire plaisir sans oublier la famille !!!

Homologué en catégorie B, ce petit trimaran de moins de 9 mètres permet d’imaginer de belles et longues navigations semi hauturières. Dans le même temps, le Tricat 30 conserve des bras repliables pour trouver de la place dans toutes les marinas ou petits ports.

Les aménagements du Tricat 30

Le confort est encore augmenté avec des dérives situées dans les flotteurs et non dans la coque centrale.

Quand on rentre à l’intérieur de la cabine, ce qui saute aux yeux est l’optimisation des espaces avec une table à carte qui se déploie ou les sièges pliants du carré.

Enfin, le carré est aéré avec un roof assez haut et des hublots qui semblent apporter beaucoup de lumières. Le trimaran bénéficie de 1,88m de hauteur sous barreau.

Tricat, une belle construction

Le Tricat 30 est construit en sandwich réalisé en infusion sous vide . Les bras de liaison et appendices sont en carbone. Il est livré avec mat et bôme en alu , lazzy jack , enrouleur Profurl et jeu de voiles en mylar ( Grand voile et solent).

Bref, ce trimaran breton fait plaisir à voir…

Boat test : Tricat 30: Trailerable cruising trimaran from France

"Naviguez autrement" - this is the slogan of the Chantier Naval Tricat near the picturesque Gulf of Morbihan: "Sail differently!" This means switching from a monohull to a tri. But it could also be interpreted differently: instead of the far more established multihull competitors Corsair and Dragonfly, consider the comparatively young brand from Plescop.

Far from the mainstream, it has developed quite valiantly since it was founded 20 years ago. And the boat we are talking about here clearly demonstrates its rise. The Tricat 30 is the top model from the shipyard, which started out with trailerable trimarans.

The big one is indeed impressive: at 9.20 metres in length, it measures a full seven metres in width when unfolded. If the floats are swivelled to the central hull, which works in a similar way to the Dragonfly, there is still a clearance width of 3.80 metres - making transport over land with a trailer and car impossible. The Tricat 30 is more of a seagoing vessel and therefore has a lot of righting moment across its width and, thanks to the very voluminous floats, plenty of buoyancy even in wind and waves.

Equally surprising is how much space it offers below deck. Thanks to its large windows and impressive headroom, it appears less compact than its direct competitors. All in all, it certainly has what it takes to compete with the established players on the market. However, the YACHT test revealed a few points that do not quite match the price tag. The price tag reads 200,000 euros for a ready-to-sail boat - a premium surcharge that is hefty. For less money, there is also a Pogo 30 with a canting keel and carbon rig, which also offers significantly more space.

L'idée comme toutes les bonnes idées est venue d'une rencontre entre Marc, régatier expérimenté en multicoque de sport et le Chantier TRICAT .

" Nous avions déjà réfléchi à une optimisation du TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE avec un nouveau gréement et des dérives asymétriques, associés à un intérieur fonctionnel, moderne, au design épuré associant confort et légèreté. Marc nous a challengé afin que son TRICAT 30 performance soit véloce dans toutes les conditions et toutes les allures et capable de rivaliser avec les meilleurs trimarans de la catégorie. Il nous a également aidés en nous permettant d'échanger avec son ami Martin Fisher, spécialiste mondial du multicoque volant et designer au sein du défi italien pour la Coupe de l'America. De ces échanges est née une version "Custom" utilisant des dérives de Décision 35 adaptées au TRICAT 30 et inclinées, servie par un jeu de voile North digne des meilleurs trimarans de course afin d'apporter un maximum de puissance. C'est un véritable partenariat dans le développement sur l'eau du bateau que nous avons eu avec Marc que nous remercions chaleureusement. "

Malgré la situation sanitaire, TRICAT a réussi à sortir ce superbe bateau avant l'été avec un retard raisonnable, permettant ainsi de valider ces améliorations spectaculaires de performance tout en conservant une grande facilité d'utilisation. Ce TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE n'est pas passé inaperçu et il sera sur la ligne de départ dans plusieurs régates la saison prochaine.

Tous les nouveaux TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE bénéficient désormais du nouvel intérieur allégé et de dérives asymétriques, mais la version "dérives foils inclinés" reste une customisation.

Les équipements sont toujours "à la carte", restant ainsi fidèle à l'esprit du TRICAT 30 : personnalisable. Mais assez parlé des performances ! Le TRICAT 30 c'est avant tout un trimaran de catégorie B, conçu pour des croisières semi-hauturière. De par sa conception et sa construction, le TRICAT 30 offre en mer une très grande stabilité et des vitesses de croisière élevées.

En croisière, le trimaran vous permet de profiter d'une très grande surface de loisir au mouillage (environ 60 m²), mais aussi grâce à son faible tirant d'eau de naviguer au plus près des côtes et de vous offrir la possibilité de vous échouer sans contraintes.

L'intérieur du TRICAT 30 vous séduira par son volume habitable identique à celui d'un monocoque de 30 pieds et ses très nombreux rangements qui vous assurent tout le confort nécessaire lors de vos croisières.

Autre point fort du bateau : son carré surélevé et sa très grande luminosité, ce qui est rare pour un trimaran . Repliable à flot le TRICAT 30 vous permet d'occuper la place d'un monocoque de 11 mètres !

Le dixième TRICAT 30 est en cours de fabrication et naviguera à Saint-Malo . Il est encore temps de réserver le vôtre pour l'été 2021 !

Tricat 30 Performance 2020 version: fast cruising, very fast!

The idea, like all good ideas, came from a meeting between Marc, an experienced sports multihull racer, and the TRICAT Shipyard .

" We had already thought about optimising the TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE with a new rigging and asymmetrical daggerboards, combined with a functional, modern interior with a sleek design combining comfort and lightness. Marc challenged us to make sure his TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE would be fast in all conditions and all points of sail and capable of competing with the best trimarans in the category. He also helped us by allowing us to exchange ideas with his friend Martin Fisher, a world specialist in flying multihulls and designer for the Italian America's Cup challenge. From these exchanges was born a "Custom" version using Decision 35 daggerboards adapted to the TRICAT 30 and inclined, served by a set of North sails worthy of the best racing trimarans in order to provide maximum power. It's a real partnership in the on-water development of the boat that we have had with Marc, whom we thank warmly. "

In spite of the sanitary situation, TRICAT managed to get this superb boat out before the summer with a reasonable delay, thus allowing to validate these spectacular performance improvements while keeping a great ease of use. This TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE has not gone unnoticed and will be on the starting line in several regattas next season.

All the new TRICAT 30 PERFORMANCE boats now benefit from the new lighter interior and asymmetrical daggerboards, but the "inclined daggerboards" version remains a customisation.

The equipment is always "à la carte", thus remaining true to the spirit of the TRICAT 30: customizable. But enough about performance! The TRICAT 30 is above all a category B trimaran , designed for semi-offshore cruising. Due to its design and construction, the TRICAT 30 offers great stability and high cruising speeds at sea.

When cruising, the trimaran allows you to enjoy a very large leisure area at anchor (about 60 m²), but also thanks to its shallow draft to sail as close as possible to the coast and to offer you the possibility to run aground without constraints.

The interior of the TRICAT 30 will seduce you with its living space identical to that of a 30-foot monohull and its numerous stowage spaces that provide you with all the necessary comfort during your cruises.

Another strong point of the boat: her raised saloon and her very high luminosity, which is rare for a trimaran . The TRICAT 30 can be folded afloat, allowing you to take up the space of an 11-metre monohull!

The tenth TRICAT 30 is currently being built and will sail in Saint-Malo . There is still time to book yours for the summer of 2021!

The weather of the day: 20 to 25 knots, gusting to 30... enough to put off more than one boater, but not Antoine Houdet, owner and founder of the Tricat shipyard. As a good Breton sailor, he is in no way fazed by the powerful gusts sweeping across our stretch of water today, the famous Gulf of Morbihan. At first glance, this 6.90 looks like a big Tricat 20, from which it borrows the folding linkage arms that fold aft. The central hull is relatively traditional with its almost plumb bow and its very high chines. The floats are more modern, with a flush gunwale and a broken and inverted bow in the upper section.

Simple and uncluttered deck plan

The main innovation of this new model is the new design of the cockpit. The removal of the traditional aft beam frees up circulation around the cockpit, especially for the helmsman. An optional full-carbon tiller can be fitted at the very after end of the 6’6” (1.80 m) long cockpit.
