As others have said the blue looks great but because it contrasts with the bezel it makes the dial look small and the bezel big, whereas the rhodium is monochromatic. Also be away how much the dial responds to strong light.

Posts: 127. The YM is on a higher level in terms of proportions design material finish you really feel it's a luxurious watch. it looks like a sub and is even better but will never feel like a sub. On the other hand the sub is simple. Nothing fancy. It's a robust tool watch, also expensive for what it is.

Yacht-Master 40 Rosegold - question in comments. So I went to a RedBar meet up last night and got to try on this 40mm rosegold YM and I was blown away. I don't like rubber straps and so never really considered any of the models with Oysterflex, but man this was comfy and the fit was perfect for my wrist. Now I can't stop thinking about it.
What's everyone's thoughts on the new Yacht-Master Titanium?
C. Titanium customarily looks and feels cheap, scratches very easily, and lacks the pop and brightness of stainless steel. Need to see this in person to understand if Rolex has innovated here. D. The bezel looks great in renders and like crap in person. Zero contrast means zero visual interest.

The yacht-master is rarely photographed well enough to show how great it looks, only way to do this properly is in person, I speak from experience. And in no way this is a settle piece for everyone buying them. Sure for some this may be the case but for the vast majority forking up YM40 money this is what they actually want.

But their watches aren't gonna have tourbillons or perpetual calendars or minute repeaters and so on. The only two complicated watches Rolex makes are the Yacht Master II (with this regatta timer) and the Sky Dweller (with its annual calendar + GMT). It is the word"yacht-master II"in bold that brothers me most.
Why isn't the Yachtmaster I more popular?
Lots of Rolex models are not popular with the watch enthusiast community: the Day-Date, the DateJust, the Sky-Dweller (other than blue/stainless), precious metal models other than those with cutesy nicknames like the Platona or Smurf, the Yacht-Master II, and yes, the Yacht-Master.

Any men with a 37mm yacht master?
The 37mm is much more suitable for a man than the old 35mm, personal opinion and no gender offence to anyone. The uncommon silicon escapement is a nice feature. The idea of a more elegant and lightweight sport watch has a certain appeal. I'm all for a man wearing a 37mm Yachtmaster if it fits well.
