Putting the priority on indoor-outdoor living and jam-packed with a wealth of amenities, superyacht TITANIA has everything a discerning traveller could desire on a private yacht charter
The 73m/240ft custom motor yacht TITANIA was built by the renowned German shipyard Lurssen in 2006 and refit to exacting standards in 2018. Met with world acclaim on her launch, she continues to be one of the largest and most luxurious superyachts on the charter market.
Conceived by industry-leading designers, TITANIA is a firm favourite among her guests and an enduring charter icon. The very pinnacle of luxury, she fuses opulent design with an effortless indoor-outdoor lifestyle and a wealth of modern amenities.
Exterior Design
TITANIA’s exterior design is the work of celebrated naval architect Espen Oeino, who has successfully penned a timeless and sophisticated silhouette, which encompasses an ample selection of versatile outdoor living, dining and entertainment areas. Primed for panoramic views, the sundeck is a haven for sun lover’s seeking out relaxation while a multitude of leisure options are at hand on the ‘pool deck’ below. As the name suggests, an inviting pool with a swim-up bar takes pride of place alongside a huge, U-shaped bar and alfresco dining setup for up to 14 guests. There are even more outdoor dining and lounging options on both the main deck and bridge deck below as well as a fabulous beach club. Equipped with a sauna, bar and sofa, this water-side area can transform from an enviable daytime hangout to a waterside night club.
Interior Design
Headed up by design firm Zuretti, the stunning interior of TITANIA immediately transports all those who step aboard into an opulent haven of unparalleled luxury and comfort. The lavish main salon features a show-stopping grand piano alongside an elegant lounge area and marble-topped bar. Further forward there is a regal dining salon, perfect for formal dinner parties. On the bridge deck, another dining space encircled by full-length glass windows creates an intimate setting for a special occasion, while the spacious skylounge forward is the place for family get-togethers with a bespoke games table and large HD TV screen. Overall, much of the interior is defined by rich, high-gloss woods, vivid pops of blue and complementing pale tones, ornate marble and other refined details. Plus, extensive glazing ensures the living spaces are flooded with natural light.
Guest Accommodation
Motor yacht TITANIA sleeps up to 12 guests in seven bespoke cabins, including an expansive master suite stretching across the forward section of the main deck. As well as full-beam sleeping quarters, an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi, a walk-in wardrobe and a private study, there is an alluring raised massage area with panoramic views forward. Taking up a prime spot on the pool deck forward is a VIP suite, while a VIP cabin with huge glass windows is located amidships to starboard on the upper deck. The remaining accommodation found on the lower deck comprises four double cabins. All boast beautifully appointed marble bathrooms, and two feature pullman berths.
Onboard Comfort & Entertainment
The beach club housed in the 3.8-metre stern extension is the ideal space to enjoy the water when at anchor. A sumptuous sofa and bar ensure guests can unwind here while the children and young at heart take to an inflatable water park deployed from the swim platform. The trampoline and climbing frame, as well as a 13-metre-tall water slide cascading down from the sundeck, provide hours of fun for all the family. TITANIA is also an accredited RYA training centre, with two qualified jet ski instructors who can help charter guests get their licenses. By night, however, the beach club can transform into a sleek and stylish nightclub for water-side parties. In the interior, there is a widescreen HD TV in the skylounge for movie nights at sea, as well as a games table. Plus, all cabins are equipped with the latest entertainment systems.
TITANIA is dedicated to health and wellbeing, and this is reflected in her vast range of wellness facilities. Alongside the beach club sauna, there is a glass-enclosed veranda on the sundeck containing a brand a new climate-controlled gymnasium. The exercise area is stocked with state-of-the-art equipment and a fitness instructor is on hand to create personalised fitness plans. After working out, charterers can then retreat to the dedicated spa room on the upper deck where a resident beauty therapist and hairdresser offers a range of treatments and massages for heavenly pamper sessions.
Performance & Range
In addition to state-of-the-art audio visual and communication systems on board, TITANIA also features an ultra-modern zero speed stabilizer system. This reduces roll motion effect and results in a smoother, more enjoyable cruising and berthing experience. With a cruising speed of 14 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,000nm from her 190,000-litre fuel tanks, her performance is unquestionably of equal standards to her magnificent leisure and entertainment facilities.
Titania knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with an extensive selection of action packed water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Principle among these is a Flyboard, experience flying in and out of the water with the latest in high adrenaline watersport. Another excellent feature are two sailboats to bring out the explorer in you. Also there is a waterslide bringing a sense of fun that all the family can enjoy. If that isn't enough Titania also features Jet Skis, waverunners, towable toys, waterskis, a seabob and much more. When it comes to Tenders, Titania has you covered - with two tenders, including a 8m/26'3" Royal Denship Tender.

INQUIRE ABOUT TITANIA
‘Titania’ is a 239.50ft /73m custom motor yacht built in 2006 by Lurssen, and last refitted in 2012. The superyacht was previously named Apoise, and her stylish interior is designed by Zuretti. Her exterior styling is by Espen Oeino.
There are many unique features on Titania, including a beach club with sauna, a full dive room, and an inflatable water park. An air conditioned gym is perfect for the fitness fanatic, and you’ll find an on board fitness instructor even more helpful.
Titania’s spacious and comfortable interior layout sleeps up to 12 guests in 7 rooms, including 2 master suites, 1 VIP stateroom and 4 double cabins. She is also capable of easily carrying up to 20 crew members onboard to ensure you get the most out of your luxury charter experience.
She is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Titania is built to comply to both MCA and Lloyds Register standards, and has a cruising speed of 14 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,000nm from 190,000litre fuel tanks. Performance and luxury are beautifully combined.
A lift/elevator makes accessing all decks easy, and it’s not hard to see why Titania is so popular.
She also comes complete with a modern stabilization system to reduce roll motion even during rough seas, and the yacht also has ‘at anchor stabilizers’ to keep things smooth even at anchor/zero speed.
While on board you’ll find a great Wi-Fi connection, so you can check emails or update social media. Air conditioning keeps conditions comfortable throughout the cabins, even on the warmest of days.
Toys on board include 1 x Yamaha Waverunner, 1 x Kawasaki SX-R 800 Waverunner, 2 x 2 seat SeaDoo Jet-Skis, 2 x Kayaks, 2 x Sail Boats, Scuba Diving Equipment, Snorkelling Equipment, Inflatable water park, and Bikes.

Superyacht crew salary & leave survey 2024 19 September 2024
crew salary survey superyacht salaries
Superyacht recruitment agency, Quay Crew, has released its latest in-depth crew salary and leave survey – this time, for all crew onboard.
Almost 300 yacht Captains responded to the survey, providing data for 2,500+ crew. As a thank you for their time, participants were entered into a draw to receive a €500 donation to charity. This was won by M/Y Nautilus (73m Perini Navi) who selected Cogs 4 Cancer.
Salaries are on the rise
The good news is that salaries are up generally for all crew. Rises range from as low as 0.5% for Stews, to 20% for Pursers and 14% for ETO/AVITs. The Engineering department has actually seen the best pay increases of all onboard departments.
It’s also positive to see that the number of yachts reviewing pay annually has improved, while those who do not review pay regularly as standard has dropped to 2%.
What is surprising is that when comparing full time and rotational packages, and private and charter packages, the gaps appear to be closing.
Historically, we used to see some higher rates of pay for full time roles versus rotational, as well as onboard exclusively private yachts where there are less opportunities to earn charter tips. But the findings in this survey show that this is not necessarily the case.
When it comes to leave packages, they have also improved since 2022. HODs and senior crew have seen a rise in Time for Time rotation and less Junior crew are on under 45 days leave than ever before, with many receiving 60 to 90 days or some form of rotation.
Detailed yacht size and role comparisons
The 34-page report shows the average crew size onboard each yacht size bracket and makes detailed comparisons between yacht sizes, private and private/charter yachts and full time vs rotational roles.
Tim Clarke, co-founder and Director at Quay Crew, commented:
“Clearly salaries and leave are improving for crew on the whole which can only be a positive thing. However, we also believe that the industry the industry is dividing into two camps.
“Camp 1, the yachts with good budgets and generous owners are regularly looking to improve packages in an effort to attract the best crew.
“Camp 2 are those programs who can’t improve packages and remain under ‘industry standards’ who will increasingly struggle to attract good crew and retain them.
“As always, you can offer the best packages in the world, but if you have a toxic working environment you will still turnover significant numbers of crew. Improved rotation and leave isn’t a silver bullet, it will only do so much.
“Eventually your reputation will precede you and it will be increasingly hard to hire good crew.
“Solutions to help improve this working culture? Read our blogs, watch our webinars obviously 😊. I would also hire a good leadership coach who can help you mould a better culture and accept there will be some bumps in the road.”
A separate report will also be available on training and benefits.

A former captain of the Bayesian has described the terrifying obstacles facing those trapped in the cabins as the Bayesian superyacht overturned killing seven.
Stephen Edwards, who captained the Bayesian for five years until 2020, told The Telegraph : “Those who stayed curled up in bed were in the worst situation.
“The storm hit hard, placing them in the melee of flying furniture, glass and other items,” he said adding he had spoken to traumatised crew members.
“Inside the cabins, the only way to think of this is that people were lying in their beds one minute, and the next the room was on its side, totally dark, with the door now either in the floor or in the ceiling above.”
It came as divers race to retrieve Mike Lynch’s personal hard drives locked in a safe on the ocean floor, according to reports.
Italian newspaper la Repubblica reported that the tech billionaire, whose clients included MI5, the NSA and the Israeli secret service, didn’t trust confidential documents on the cloud and kept two encrypted hard drives in a safe which now lies 49 metres below sea level.
Former captain says surviving crewmembers all have PTSD from sinking
The former captain of the Bayesian superyacht says he has spoken to all of the surviving crew to hear their account of the sinking.
Stephen Edwards said all the crew members who were on deck rescued as many passengers as they could but that heading down towards the flooded lower parts of the yacht “would have meant certain death”.
The former captain told The Telegraph: “They are not doing very well”
“The dominant feeling is still one of shock from the event. They are dealing with what happened, how it happened and how quickly it happened.”
Bayesian yacht sinking: Banking boss among four victims who ‘suffocated in cabin air bubble’
Four of the victims of last month’s Bayesian yacht disaster died after oxygen ran out in an air bubble on the sunken vessel, it has been reported.
Autopsies over the past few days on four of those who died have revealed an absence of water in their lungs, suggesting they suffocated as the air became saturated with carbon dioxide, Italian publication La Repubblica said.
The outlet reported post-mortems showed four people died from “atypical drowning”, with “no water in their lungs, trachea and stomach”. There were no signs of external injuries.
HP looking to recoup £4billion from Mike Lynch’s estate despite Bayesian tragedy
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is making the “difficult decision” to pursue Mike Lynch’s estate for £4billion in the interests of shareholders despite the tech billionaire being killed along with his daughter on the Bayesian superyacht.
Antonio Neri, the former engineer turned chief executive at HPE, told the Financial Times : “Obviously my job as a representative of shareholders is to make the difficult decisions.
“These are difficult decisions. But in the end, we are making decisions in the best interest of shareholders.”
Mike Lynch had been celebrating his acquittal from criminal charges on the superyacht when it overturned in a freak storm.
But HPE intends to pursue damages around an earlier UK civil trial in 2022 which found in favor of HPE’s claim that Lynch and ex-CFO Sushovan Hussain had inflated the apparent value of Autonomy during the acquisition.
Bayesian captain said to be ‘living darkest days of his life'
Three crew members including the yacht’s captain are under investigation, with plans being discussed to raise the yacht from the ocean bed to assist enquiries.
Sources close to New Zealander James Cutfield, 51, the captain , told the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera that he is living through the darkest days of his life.
Among those killed were Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, who had been due to begin studying at Oxford University in September, the yacht’s chef and four other family friends and associates.
Seven key unanswered questions around the sinking of the Bayesian
With the Bayesian lying on her side 50 metres underneath the now gentle waters of the Mediterranean, mystery still surrounds how the 56-metre superyacht, sank in the typhoon off the port of Porticello.
Remotely controlled underwater vehicles and cave divers are looking to raise the yacht .
Will answers to the sinking will rise to the surface with it?
The key unanswered questions around the tragic sinking of the Bayesian
With the search continuing of the sunken Bayesian an investigation has been launched to establish what caused the disaster off the coast of Sicily
Mike Lynch’s co-defendant died from head injury after being hit by car days before yacht sinking
Mike Lynch ’s co-defendant Stephen Chamberlain died in hospital three days after being hit by a car on a country road, an inquest heard.
The 52-year-old, from Longstanton in south Cambridgeshire, was struck by a blue Vauxhall Corsa travelling between Stretham and Wicken on the A1123 at about 10.10am on 17 August.
Mr Chamberlain, a former vice president of finance at Mike Lynch’s software firm Autonomy, had been out running at the time, his lawyer Gary Lincenberg said.
Coroner Caroline Jones told the inquest in Alconbury that his medical cause of death was recorded as “traumatic head injury”.
Mike Lynch ‘likely died of suffocation’ after running out of oxygen on sunken yacht
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch is likely to have died of suffocation after running out of oxygen, according to a source close to the investigation.
They cited initial examinations carried out on Saturday after the businessman’s body was recovered from the family yacht that sank off Sicily ’s coast last month during a freak weather incident.
Mr Lynch died alongside his 18-year-old daughter, the boat’s chef and four others , who were onboard the British-flagged superyacht Bayesian to celebrate his recent acquittal after a lengthy decade-long legal battle.
Initial results of examinations of Hannah Lynch’s body on Saturday were inconclusive, the source told the Reuters news agency.
Mike Lynch’s yacht was ‘unsinkable’, says boss of company who built boat
Giovanni Costantino, the chief executive of the Italian Sea Group, said there are no flaws with the design and construction of the Bayesian and it is “one of the safest boats in the world”.
The Bayesian, a 184-ft superyacht carrying 22 passengers and crew, was anchored off the port of Porticello, near Palermo, when it disappeared beneath the waves in a matter of minutes after a freak tornado struck.
“The ship sank because it took on water, from where investigators will have to say,” Mr Costantino told television news programme TG1.
He suggested that the sinking was down to a series of human errors.
The CEO said that had the crew shut all doors and hatches, turned on the engine, lifted the anchor, lowered the keel and turned the yacht to face the wind, they would have suffered “zero damage”.
He added that data showed it took 16 minutes from when the wind began for it to sink.
Cartoisio said the tragedy will be even more painful if the sinking was caused by “behaviours that were not aligned to the responsibilities that everyone needs to take in shipping”.
£4billion deal to purchase Mike Lynch’s Darktrace
Darktrace shares are set to stop trading publicly at the end of September, after the company set a timetable for its blockbuster private equity takeover to be completed.
The private equity group Thoma Bravo struck an almost 5.31 billion dollar (£4.3 billion) deal to buy Darktrace in April.
It marks one of the biggest take-private deals for a London-listed company in recent years, and will see Darktrace leave the FTSE 100 on October 1.
Founded in 2013, Cambridge-based Darktrace is a cybersecurity firm best known for using artificial intelligence to scan for hacks and data leaks inside IT networks.
A prominent company in the UK tech landscape, it was among the firms represented at the AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park in November, where world leaders and major tech firms met to discuss the potential threat of artificial intelligence.
The update comes after Poppy Gustafsson stepped down as chief executive earlier in September amid the takeover.
Ms Gustafsson, who co-founded the business in 2013, will be replaced as chief executive by Jill Popelka, the company said.
Ms Gustafsson helped to set up the Cambridge-based company in 2013 alongside Autonomy founder Mike Lynch.
Mr Lynch, and his daughter Hannah, were among seven people to die after the Bayesian superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily last month.
Professor fears more deaths by ‘medicanes’ after Bayesian tragedy
Professor Yoav Yair, Dean of the School of Sustainability at Reichman University in Israel, told the Mirror that storms dubbed ‘medicanes’ - Mediterranean hurricanes - could cause similar sinkings like the Bayesian superyacht.
He said: “It is not a matter of if this (the Bayesian disaster) will happen again, but rather it’s when and where.
“In the last couple of years we have seen medicanes - which are a new phenomena. These are hurricane-like storms that pack a lot of energy, and create flash flooding, torrential rains, lightning, hail and severe sustained winds. The 2023 “Daniel” medicane destroyed Libya and caused over 30,000 deaths there.
“The sea surface temperature has risen globally and in the Med as well, charging the atmosphere with increased fluxes of water vapor, which means a higher potential for massive storms.”

Fataler Yacht-Unfall nahe Sizilien: Kapitän weist Verantwortung zurück – frische Bilder aufgetaucht
Stand: 19.09.2024, 05:14 Uhr
( rd/dpa )
