From aft decks dedicated to the ultimate helipad to silent hybrid cruisers, and even optical illusion design, it’s a rubbernecker’s paradise of top notch amenities and visionary thinking all rolled up into one dynamic yacht package. Whether you’re a salty sailor at heart or keen on speed machines, here we identify eight innovative vessels that will make you want to hop aboard without a second thought.

Feadship 312-foot ‘Bliss’

Launched in May 2021, Bliss has the Dutch shipyard’s all-new hybrid propulsion system. Designed and engineered in partnership with De Voogt Naval Architects, the diesel-electric hybrid system is paired with Polar Code compliance, meaning guests can cruise the more sensitive Polar regions with greater efficiency and as light a footprint as possible. Welcoming nine guests in an interior designed by Remi Tessier, the 312-foot world traveler packs true go-anywhere capabilities, along with a gym, wellness space, a pool and a convertible helideck.

Royal Huisman’s 184-Foot Sailing Yacht ‘Aquarius’

When design simplicity meets cutting-edge technology, the result is 184-foot ketch Aquarius . Built for an owner who likes to race and explore in equal measure, the Royal Huisman sailing yacht shows how performance and classic design do not have to be mutually exclusive. Fast yet easy to sail, Aquarius has a ketch rig developed in collaboration by the yard, its sister company Rondal, and Dykstra Naval Architects. She pairs 9,843-square-feet of sails with the latest in navigational aids to be a world explorer. Classic teak decking and good seakeeping qualities make her a true sailor’s yacht.

Heesen 262-foot ‘Galactica’

The 262-foot Galactica, built by Dutch shipyard Heesen in 2022, rewrites the rules of engineering. The owner’s brief requested fast and big, which led to an all-aluminum build to keep weight down and achieve speeds close to 30 knots, and a newly patented “backbone” for strength and rigidity. Developed in partnership with Dutch hydrodynamicists Van Oossanen, Galactica ’s fast displacement platform is created using two long, flat metal plates that are joined together by a vertical plate in the middle. This prevents the hull from flexing in water. Four MTU engines deliver 19,000-hp, and the addition of a fully-certified helipad means no place is off limits.

Ulstein Verft’s 290-Foot Motor Yacht ‘Olivia O’

Olivia O is a yacht that means business. Robust in every way, she is owned by a commercial shipping magnate with a love for industrial boats. Built by Norwegian shipyard Ulstein Verft Olivia O ’s rustic appeal is exemplified by the use of metal in the Espen Øino-designed interior, from windows with steel borders to corridors with painted metal ceilings. On water, she is defined by Ulstein’s trademarked X-Bow, which was originally designed for use on offshore vessels. Olivia O is the first yacht to ever feature it. Launched in 2020, she bridges the gap between luxury superyacht and authentic rugged explorer.

Oceanco’s 350-Foot Sailing Yacht ‘Black Pearl’

Scooping the top spot for largest DynaRig sailing yacht in the world, Black Pearl is designed by Nuvolari Lenard (assisted by Villate Design). A tri-deck sailing yacht, she boasts three revolutionary 70m DynaRig carbon masts and a sailing system designed by Dykstra Naval Architects. What’s more impressive is that all 2,900sqm of her black, highly distinctive sails can be set in a rapid seven minutes, and all at the push of a button. Her hybrid propulsion system, and other environmental onboard systems, such as waste heat recovery, propel her among a new generation of environmentally sustainable, and highly efficient vessels.

Benetti 351-foot ‘Lana’

One of the most exciting additions to the gigayacht club, Lana was built to discover the four corners of the globe. One of the largest yachts delivered by the Italian builder, Lana is powered by an unusual Rolls-Royce hybrid-electric propulsion, delivering fuel efficiency and long-range cruising. Delivered in 2020, she boasts a large pool on the sun deck that comes with its own heating system, meaning guests can enjoy a splash wherever she cruises. A waterside beach club with folding terraces creates a floating apartment at sea, equipped with a Hammam, massage room, and a dedicated professional therapist makes up one of the 33 full-time crew.

Bilgin 262-foot ‘Tatiana’

Launched in 2020, Tatiana the new flagship yacht from Bilgin Yachts heralded the arrival of cutting-edge, metal-hulled Turkish-built superyachts. With an internal volume of 1,689 gross tons—more than twice that of Bilgin’s previous flagship— Tatiana is defined by long overhangs and a sweeping sheer line penned by Unique Yacht Design. But it’s the 1,200-square-foot lower deck beach club with its two fold-down sea terraces that steal the limelight. The centerpiece is a 30-foot long, freshwater swimming pool. A second glass-bottomed pool on the main deck bathes the beach club below in dappled sunlight. When the shell doors are closed, guests can pamper themselves in the spa that enjoys a hammam, massage room and wet bar with a backlit floor.

Oceanco’s 360-Foot ‘Kaos’ (ex-‘Jubilee’)

The mighty motor yacht Kaos , formerly known as Jubilee , was built by Dutch shipyard Oceanco. For her Moscow-born exterior designer Igor Lobanov, she represents the need to always have faith in your own vision. Topping both length and volume records in the Netherlands at the time of her launch, Kaos’s layered double decks—the very thing that originally put so many people off the concept—are, for Lobanov, the key to the design’s success. “When you’re travelling on a small tender it gives the scale of a bigger yacht, but as you get closer to the yacht you realize her actual size. That’s what we wanted to achieve. We wanted it to be a design trick.” The illusion has been created with smoked glass panels between the decks that run the length of the superstructure and areas of teak decking inaccessible to guests, but which from a distance look like genuine deck spaces. Perfection.

Nobiskrug’s 262-Foot ‘Artefact’

Renowned for a truly striking exterior before she had even hit water, Artefact is the latest launch from German shipyard Nobiskrug. Designed by Gregory C Marshall, she boasts an extensive use of both structural and decorative glass, and includes a number of new technological and engineering features to minimise its environmental impact. These include a large battery storage system which allows the boat to operate without internal combustion engines for a limited time. The biggest-volume 262-foot superyacht in the world, she is also among the first superyachts to meet IMO Tier III emissions regulations and features an innovative diesel-electric propulsion system developed with electric motor manufacturer ABB.

Sanlorenzo 112-foot SX112

As the flagship of Sanlorenzo’s SX crossover line, the premise of the 111.5-foot SX112 is to introduce a new way of living at sea. Described by the Italian builder as a “floating building,” the innovative design enhances guests’ onboard connectivity to the outdoors. It’s achieved by reducing barriers to the outside and closer indoor-outdoor connection. Greater emphasis has been placed on the stern, which has a spacious internal beach area with easy access to the water and beyond, and elsewhere, retractable terraces maximize the outside connection. Exterior designed by Zucccon International, the SX112 gifts superyacht living space typically found on a much larger yacht aboard a compact platform.

Sunreef 78.7-foot 80 Eco

Is there anything more responsible than an electric sailing yacht that creates renewable energy? We don’t think so. The Sunreef 80 Eco is a sustainable transatlantic catamaran that combines electric propulsion with superyacht living and reliable sailing performance. Designed for long offshore navigation, it even generates its own electricity while under sail via a hydro generation system. A total of 1,765-square-feet of ultra-lightweight composite-integrated solar panels are spread across the mast, boom, superstructure, Bimini and hull sides generating up to 32kWp. Inside, the 78.7-foot multihull enjoys living quarters and accommodation for up to 10 guests, thanks in part to a 38-foot beam. It’s like a luxury pied-à-terre on water.

McConaghy Boats’ 140-Foot Trimaran ‘Adastra’

Costing over $20 million to build when launched in 2012, the owner of this custom-built transatlantic trimaran—shipping magnate Antony Marden—has cruised the seven seas for seven years turning heads everywhere he goes. Adastra ’s space age design comes from the boards of British studio Shuttleworth Design and was built in China by McConaghy Boats. Her speedy and light-weight hull is made from a super-strong e-glass/Kevlar foam sandwich, while her superstructure is made up of carbon fiber with a lightweight Nomex honeycomb core. Currently for sale, she provides the rare opportunity to own a yacht with “amazing seaworthiness” and looks like nothing else out there right now.

The international exhibition of yachts and boats - the moscow boat show - usually takes place at the crocus expo iec, moscow, russia.

An important date on the international yachting calendar, the show is a place to showcase new yachts for sale and new luxury yacht ideas and designs.  Moscow International Boat & Yacht Show is a great success and every year the event is promising to be even better. The most up-to-date yachts and products will be exhibited by the top names in yachting such as Benetti , Azimut , Beneteau , Popilov Yachts , Sunreef Yachts , Ferretti among many others.

The exposition space is spread over 45 000 sq m. More than 350 companies from Germany, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Ukraine, the USA, Finland, Holland, Turkey, France, Croatia, Poland and China, and also Russian participants from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Vladivostok, Kazan, the Republic of Karelia, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Izhevsk, Novorossiysk, Tolyatti, Sevastopol, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Yaroslavl and the Moscow region will participate in the show. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development. 

Moscow Boat Show is renowned for its excellent display of yachts where everyone will be able to find all necessary. Rosgosstrakh and Ingosstrakh provide an insurance for yachts and boats and will offer protection against all risks arising at their operation to the happy ship owners worrying about a qualitative insurance.

The Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS), one of the largest exhibitors of the show, will present main regattas of the season.

Tiara EX54: Review of an Inboard-Powered Luxury Yacht

Tiara Yachts’ new inboard cruiser, the EX54, is a robust, luxurious 54-foot ride that’s nearly 16 feet wide, has 14 degrees of deadrise at the transom, and displaces 56,891 pounds when fueled up to run. What does EX stand for? According to the builder it’s for “flEXible luxury and Endless EXploration.” Here is a video review by Rightboat’s content partner, BoatTest.com .

Tiara EX54 Walkthrough

Captain Gregg starts with an on-deck tour of the EX54, checks out the helm station area, and then continues belowdecks. Highlights include the quality Herculan faux teak used on the main deck, swimming platform and fold-out gunwale terraces aft, the fordeck sunpad that configures for two or four people, and the concealed anchor windlass forward with remote control. In the aft-deck cockpit, the settees can be configured in multiple ways for a buyer with more formal, social or sports-oriented arrangements.

The pilothouse saloon offers a convertible port seat with a large Garmin display available when in forward-facing mode. This allows someone other than the person at the helm to be oriented to the surrounding waters and provide navigational support. The helm station itself has integrated Volvo throttles and joystick, an innovation used on a number of Tiara models over the last several years. It also has a nice helm-station sliding door, making it easy to maneuver in and around your marina docks while standing on the side deck with one hand controlling the joystick.

Belowdecks, the EX54 has three cabins. Forward is the VIP stateroom and a guest cabin with bunk beds sharing the forward head. Amidships is the master stateroom with an ensuite head. Significant storage is nicely arranged with additional drawers and even in compartments beneath the lift-up master berth.

The vessel is powered by twin Volvo Penta 950 IPS that are kept quiet through strict attention to sound suppression throughout the structure. BoatTest quotes a measurement of only 73 decibels at cruising speed.

Where the EX54 Fits in the Tiara Lineup

The inboard-powered Tiara lineup has steadily been superseded by outboard models since 2017 when the outboard-powered Tiara Sport LS series was introduced in response to the shift in the power cruising market. Most of Tiara’s models are now outboard-powered, either with express or coupe styling or designed from the ground up as center-console type vessels.

However, Tiara still sees demand for more yacht-style, inboard-powered vessels and as they discontinued other models, they launched first the EX60 in 2023 and then the EX54 in 2024. Tiara celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, as well, which represents the multi-generational of the Slikkers’ family, and the builder’s ability to understand the marketplace for its boats has clearly been a key to its longevity. We’ll watch with interest to see if the EX lineup remains a niche section of the company’s offerings or with success for the 54 and 60 will represent a move into a larger yacht sector.

The EX54’s twin Volvo IPS 950s deliver 725 hp, and the builder’s test data indicates the EX54 has a cruise speed of 26.7kts at 2200 rpm and hits a maximum speed 33.7 kts at 2561 rpm. The model’s estimated range is close to 300 nautical miles.

Post-show glow: How to enjoy the principality and beyond after the Monaco Yacht Show

After four days of breaking yacht news and brushing shoulders with some of the industry's biggest names, it's only natural that your social battery is nearing empty and you need some time away from the bustling harbour. Luckily, BOAT has compiled the ultimate post-show glow guide to enjoying the principality and beyond – whether you need some R&R at a secluded beach club, you've got a hankering for Monegasque delicacies, or you're ready to tackle the popular Le Sentier du Littoral hike.

Where to stay

Hibernate at the maybourne riviera.

Just a stone's throw from the principality's main district, The Maybourne Riviera is perched high on the rocky peninsula of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. All-seeing and all-knowing, the omnipresent hotel keeps you close to the action of Monte-Carlo while the cliffs afford its modern architecture seclusion and privacy. 

Inside, the muted coastal tones across each of the hotel's suites and studios are a continuation of the azure coastlines beyond and are sure to soothe a buzzy boat show brain. Expect bespoke designs in each suite and find spaces to both entertain and unwind – choose between rooms with split-level access, private terraces or infinity pools.

Of course, the hotel is not without its buzzier features. You only have to look as far as its exclusive cliffside beach club, Maybourne La Plage, with its Aperol-toned umbrellas and striped sun loungers, to know you're in safe hands for sundowners and freshly caught seafood. Just a stone's throw away from Monaco and the Italian border, its relaxed Mediterranean influences are the antidote to the Monaco boat show grind. The beach club closes Sunday 29 September, so get there quickly to make the most of it post-show.

Bask in grandeur at Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

Wanting to stay on in Monaco but escape reality? Fairytale palace Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo comes in top trumps with its marble wedding cake of a lobby, tiled marble floors and romantic rooms. The hotel has hosted magnificent parties for the world's jet setters since the origins of the jet and you can soon see why, with the grandeur of the Salle Belle Epoque ballroom – a masterpiece of architecture and history – and the glass-domed Winter Garden. 

Rooms are equally as impressive with balcony views putting you front and centre of Monaco's action – including the Monaco Grand Prix , where the action is best served from the Crystal Terrace with a cocktail in hand. 

A one-minute walk away, you'll find Yannick Alleno’s gourmet counter food in the Michelin-starred restaurant Pavyllon. Expect an open kitchen facing a terrace, where the salty sea views taste almost as good as the decidedly local flavours.

Escape the crowds at Cap Estel

Cap Estel is located in the charming town of Èze, 15 minutes from Monaco and into the French Riviera. Promising privacy and exclusivity, it is a favourite among the superyacht industry as an unspoilt haven of tranquillity. There are just 18 rooms and suites and it has its own private dock should you be arriving directly by boat, as well as helipad access. Mimicking the same luxury and amenities as a superyacht, you can expect an infinity pool, Michelin-starred restaurant (Le Table de Patrick Raingeard), wellness centre and private beach.

Cap Estel will be closing its doors on Monday 30 September, so get there quickly to make the most of it post-show.

Where to dine

Taste your way through the côte d'azur at la vague d'or – cheval blanc.

With three Michelin stars, you know La Vague d'Or is set to be a winner in the fine-dining category. Considered a "master alchemist of textures and taste" with his flawlessly crafted sauces, Chef Arnaud Donckele leads the team of chefs and, consequently, your taste buds to the sun-drenched landscape of Saint-Tropez. 

He lives by the philosophy of French writer Jean Giono's quote: "Cuisine is a way of understanding a landscape. The landscape helps us to understand the cuisine and the people who live there." Allow Arnaud, then, to paint the landscape as he unveils the secrets of Provence – with all its rustic charm – through one of his curated menus (Run Away Together, or Epicurean Adventure), packed with locally caught surf and turf underscored by the region's best-picked vegetables.

Dine on a jewel of an island at La Guérite

Mediterranean restaurant La Guérite is located off the coast of Cannes on Ile Sainte-Marguerite. Here you can experience authentic Mediterranean cuisine and the pleasures of Greek gastronomy, courtesy of Athens-born chef Yiannis Kioroglou. Food is cooked in the oven, on the embers or on the barbecue, and the team pride themselves on their aromatic herbs and marinades. With your appetite satiated, give your eyes something to feast on and settle in for an afternoon sunbathing with a view looking back on the entire bay of Cannes.

Dine amongst the greats at La Colombe d'Or

Hotel and restaurant, La Colombe d'Or translates to "The Golden Dove" – fitting for a peaceful place which sits atop the medieval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. It's something of a national treasure, opening its doors in 1920 by husband-and-wife Paul and Titine Roux. It started life as modest café-bar "Chez Robinson", attracting crowds from neighbouring villages to dance on its large, open terrace at the weekend. It expanded to become a restaurant with just three rooms, and today it maintains that boutique charm with 13 rooms. 

It would be ignorant to not mention the art – after all, it was owner Paul Roux's passion and what attracted local artists, including Picasso himself, to contribute to the artworks on display here. The art collection grows to this day, and the food – traditional French cuisines with a Mediterranean feel – gives you a true taste of L'Hexagone. Seating is for around 70 people, and the best spot in the summer months is in the garden terrace.

Where to unwind

Find peace at plage keller.

Take in the sound of the sea and enjoy a moment of idleness at Plage Keller, a natural fine-sand beach located in La Garoupe Bay that features a beautiful view of the Bay of Angels. Soak up the sun's rays on a deckchair on the pontoon or in the restaurant directly accessible from the beach, with a snack and brasserie service open all day. In the evening, their dining space, Restaurant Le César, opens its doors, run by chef Olivier Condat and offering up everything from sushi to Mediterranean specialities.

Sunbathe and sip at Gigi Rigolatto Ramatuelle's beach house and Bellini Bar

Branded as "a French Riviera sanctuary with Italian flair", the Saint-Tropez-based beach house offers a taste of its neighbour's cuisine and lifestyle. Tucked under the iconic pines of southern France, Gigi Ramatuelle plays host to a beachside restaurant, Bellini Bar, a swimming pool, private cabins and a concept store. Post Monaco, lounging poolside is just what the doctor ordered. 

Championing the spirit of sharing and fresh seasonal ingredients, their restaurant Gigi Rigolatto offers all the crowdpleasers, from Vitello Tonnato to a simple yet satisfying margherita pizza. While you're there, it would be rude not to check out the Bellini Bar for a daytime aperitif or an evening pick-me-up. Opt for the signature Il Bellini di Gigi, the zesty Limone, or indulge in an Italian classic. A negroni or Aperol Spritz awaits.

Prepare to party (and spot celebrities) at Anjuna Beach

Think private beach, parties and people spotting. At the gateway to Monaco in a discrete location, Anjuna Beach has welcomed a host of celebrities thanks to its unmissable Sunday parties. Expect restaurants of varied gourmet cuisines, a private beach, private events, valet parking and yacht service. 

Balinese-inspired décor gives the place a relaxed feel and is reminiscent of multicoloured fishing boats from the Indian Ocean, while DJ sets and live music give it a buzzy feel. Beach club by day, romantic restaurant by evening and vibrant party hub at the weekends, here is a place primed for celebrity spotting. It's no wonder it has been welcoming VIPs from across the world for over two decades.

Try local dishes at Marché de La Condamine

When the order of the day is simply to immerse yourself in the city and sample an assortment of local delicacies, you can't go wrong with a no-frills food market. Just promise you'll try the Monegasque specialities – socca (a local pancake made with chickpeas), barbagiuans (a fritter stuffed with Swiss chard and ricotta), pissaladière (a tart made with caramelised onions, Nicoise olives and anchovies) and fougasse (a savoury pastry decorated in the colours of the Monegasque flag, using red and white sugared aniseed). 

Hike Le Sentier du Littoral

Considered a moderately challenging route, Le Sentier du Littoral is a popular hike in Cap d'Antibes that takes on average three to four hours to complete. Start your trail adjacent to Plage Keller at Plage de la Garoupe and head along the rugged coastline and rocky promontories below the dreamy villas of "the Cap". The circular walk, which takes you along the Tirepoil coastal path and offers views of the Baie des Anges and Golfe Juan, ends at Baie des Milliardaires beach. 

Amongst the many celebrity-owned villas, look out for the Château de la Croë, which the Duke and Duchess of Windsor once owned and was later purchased by Roman Abramovich. Make sure to wear practical trainers or boots – the path is undulating and there are narrow, winding passages which can be demanding on the legs. Those cliffside panoramic views come at a price!
