Description.

The Aventura 44, designed by Lasta Design, is the latest and largest model in the family of the successful medium-sized shipyard from Tunisia. The Aventura 44 is characterized by convincingly modern lines with distinctive Chines and a characteristic bend in the stem. The 115m² sail area and a good 13 meters in length gives plenty of space, and weighing in at just 9.5t, she handles smoothly as well.

Aventura 44: This Tunisian-built catamaran is well worth a closer look

This 44 is the new flagship of the growing Aventura brand. These Tunisian-built catamarans are designed by Lasta Studio, like the Bali range

This means a modern look and feel to them with a marked chine, heavy reverse sheer, dreadnought bows and a prominent but swept-back coachroof.

Key features include a raised bulkhead steering position, sliding windows and door between cockpit and saloon, and a dedicated chart table with a fine view ahead.

Aventura makes much of its ‘innovative’ saloon/cockpit design, although there doesn’t appear to be anything too original about it.

What it does do is to create good walkthrough space to reach the aft platform. The Aventura 44’s layout can accommodate three or four double cabins, with either two or four heads.

Aventura also cites the use of oversize deck equipment as proof that it has been developed with input from offshore sailors.

That also seems to extend to the engines, which offer 2x40hp or 57hp depending on the option – for a 10 tonne catamaran , that’s pretty generous.

Un site de fabrication moderne

C'est Romain Roger qui dirige aujourd'hui l'usine – plus de 5000 m 2 couverts - de Menzel Bourguiba (près de Bizerte, en Tunisie), tandis qu'Eric Roger assume la direction commerciale. Avec 60 collaborateurs et un bureau d'études intégré, Aventura Catamarans a produit 25 multicoques en 2019 et en prévoit 35 en 2020. La gamme s'organise autour de deux catamarans voiliers (le 34 et le 44) et de deux powercats, le A10 et le A14 – ce dernier sera présenté lors de l’International Multihulls Show à La Grande Motte. Historiquement, le chantier s'est d’abord fait connaître avec la fabrication d'unités de voile légère avant d'évoluer vers les catamarans de croisière côtière - reprise de la construction des indémodables Camping Cat et Diabolo 28. Signés respectivement par Jacques Fauroux et Jacques Fioleau, ils ont été rebaptisés Aventura 23 et 28. L'attente de la clientèle a évolué et se porte désormais sur des unités plus confortables ; le constructeur accompagne cette tendance avec une gamme réduite et pertinente, profitant de la forte demande de multicoques à voile ou à moteur.

History of Aventura Catamarans

Founded in 2007 in Tunisia, Aventura Catamarans is a recognisable name in the boating industry renowned for impressive craftsmanship, cutting-edge design, and excellent functionality. The brand was created by Eric Roger, a seasoned sailor obsessed with the idea of designing innovative catamarans that could offer an equally matched performance for both sail and motor capacities. Under his expert guidance, Aventura Catamarans began to carve out a name for itself in the world of boating with designs that married technical know-how with avant-garde features unique to the brand. In the year 2012, the Aventura brand formed a promising partnership with Lasta Design, a company driven by Samer Lasta, who is eminent for his exceptional design abilities and innovative technical solutions. This collaboration resulted in the launch of the Aventura 10Power and the Aventura 34, both milestone models for the company which further elevated the brand's status in the world of catamarans. As of now, Aventura Catamarans is headquartered in Sousse, a city located on the east coast of Tunisia. The manufacturing unit at Sousse is well equipped with modern technology and tools to uphold the highest quality control standards and deliver superior boats as per international norms. Essai / Essai de l'Aventura 44, un cata de croisière véloce dans les petits airs

Dans le paysage des catamarans de croisière, 44 pieds reste la taille la plus recherchée. Face à une concurrence sévère, l'Aventura 44 mis à l'eau en 2019, n'a pas à rougir. Ce voilier est performant, bien fini et surtout proposé à un prix canon !

Réaliser un essai de voilier demande une conjonction de facteurs météo. Pour tester à fond un bateau, il faut du vent (mais pas trop), de la mer (mais pas trop), du soleil (pour les photos). Bref, des conditions pas toujours faciles à réunir surtout quand l'automne pointe son nez juste quand le bateau est dispo pour les essais.

On éteint rapidement les moteurs

Pour tester ce nouveau catamaran Aventura 44 , nous avons un peu couru après ces conditions et quand nous avons pu embarquer à Canet-en-Roussillon, le vent a manqué pour que nous puissions réellement valider le comportement en mer de ce bateau de croisière.

Et pourtant, naviguer dans 6 à 8 noeuds de vent (10 au plus fort des rafales !), nous avons eu l'agréable surprise de voir que ce catamaran se passe facilement de ses moteurs. Le devis de poids (9,5 T) annoncé pour une longueur de 13,20 m, rend très véloce ce voilier. Et pourtant, notre modèle d'essai, le numéro 1 du chantier, était largement équipé pour valider les options de la série.

Pratique en équipage réduit

Ce voilier possède un poste de barre au niveau du pont. C'est de là que l'on accède à toutes les manœuvres qui reviennent sur 3 winches Harken (dont un est électrique). C'est simple est pratique, mais posera un peu de difficultés dès que l'on sera 2 à vouloir agir en même temps. On se bagarre un peu la place. En revanche, la situation est idéale pour un solitaire.

Construction très qualitative

La visite de ce catamaran nous a séduit par la qualité de construction et celles des finitions. On sent que l'équipe du chantier navigue avec ses bateaux et a la volonté de construire des unités capables de prendre la mer par tous les temps. Rappelons que le chantier est basé en Tunisie et que tous les convoyages pour livrer les bateaux partent de là bas. La vie de chaque unité commence par une transmed pas toujours calme.

Nous avons noté le soin de la construction avec notamment la qualité du circuit électrique ou encore les accessoires installés comme le réfrigérateur à double tiroir. Le choix des matériaux aussi avec ses surfaces laquées et ses inserts métalliques sont du plus bel effet.

Tarif agressif

Dernier point, mais non des moindres, le tarif de ce catamaran. Largement en dessous de celui de la concurrence. En effet, un Aventura 44 est proposé à 349 000 € HT, soit un bateau prêt à naviguer pour 450 000 €. Un tarif 30% inférieur à celui d'un Lagoon…

The replacement for the Aventura 44, still by Lasta Design, features a number of innovations, starting with the possibility of offering up to six cabins and four bathrooms thanks to companionways in the cockpit. In the four-cabin version, all berths lie athwartships. This modern catamaran also features a half-flybridge on the starboard side and a helm station at mid-height, ahead of which is the sail maneuvering station on the coachroof.
