Below Deck Sailing Yacht TV Show on Bravo: canceled or renewed?

(Photo: Bravo Media)

Below Deck Sailing Yacht has its return date set. Season five of the reality series will return next month, and Bravo has announced new crew members who will join Capt. Glenn Shephard, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, and First Mate Gary King on board the Parsifal III this season.

Chef Cloyce Martin, Chief Engineer Davide Morosi, stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren, and deckhands Keith Allen and Emma Crouch will join the cast for season five of the series, and they will bring some drama with them.

Bravo revealed the following about what is to come in season five:

Capt. Glenn and his expert crew set sail on Parsifal III to the luxury party capital of the world, Ibiza. While Ibiza is known for its sunny day parties and crystal-clear coast, it’s stormy waters ahead for the crew as they navigate blossoming boatmances, competitive co-workers and tense personal dynamics, all while trying to raise the bar every charter. After a distracting love triangle last season that took her focus away from work, Daisy is ready to take the reins back in the interior department with a new sense of energy and determination. However, plans for a stress-free charter season are threatened when her stews question her leadership. On deck, Gary attempts to keep his team motivated as one crew member struggles to learn the ropes. In the galley, Chef Cloyce charms the crew and guests but at only 22, he may be too inexperienced to meet the demands of the high-maintenance charter guests.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht returns on October 7th . The trailer for season five is below.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Crew Had Their Hands Full With Memorable AF Charter Guests

Take a closer look at the entertaining charter guests from may 17's episode of below deck sailing yacht ..

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew just couldn't catch a break.

On the Monday, May 17 episode, Captain Glenn Shephard and company scrambled to assess the damage following last week's boat crash . Although the situation wasn't great, they were able to do a quick cosmetic fix since the transom door was able to open.

The drama didn't stop there as deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux panicked that he had "f--king chlamydia…again." On top of all of this, the charter guests were a demanding group of ladies, who expected nothing less than perfection.

For starters, there was co-primary charter guest  Erica , who requested that the interior crew unpack all of the luggage. Oh, and while "seasick" (AKA seemingly intoxicated) she asked Captain Glenn to make the ship stop rocking in a thunderstorm.

Sorry, Erica. The man's a sea captain, not Poseidon.

There was also charter guest Bianca , who upset her peers by wearing a Trump campaign bikini. "I just hate getting political," co-primary charter guest Jess snapped after Bianca's "Titties for Trump" declaration.

Speaking of Jess, later on, first mate Gary King and chief engineer Colin Macrae were ripped into after they were caught gossiping about the guests. In Jess' defense, it was unprofessional. Yet, by causing a scene she was proving their point that this group was bound to be a handful.

This is only a taste of what went down on tonight's episode. We're, of course, talking about the seemingly out of nowhere fight where Bianca accused the other ladies of bullying and slut-shaming her.

We have a feeling this is the "challenging" group that chief stewardess Daisy Kelliher teased to E! News earlier this month. "There's definitely one more group that, you know, for me, really stuck out," she said at the time. "I thought they were all actually fine. I really enjoyed all of them but, there were two that were definitely a bit more difficult and a bit more challenging."

For a closer look at these ladies and more interesting Below Deck charter guests, scroll through the images below.

The Bravo franchise has had plenty of dramatic and crazy moments thanks to some unruly and demanding guests, including Georgia , who was a little too flirty with no-nonsense leader Captain Lee Rosbach .

Sometimes, you just want a foam party—at least, that's what this demanding guest asked for. Was it eyebrow-raising to see him drunkenly partying in what ended up being about four inches of foam? Yes. Was it still epic because of how excited he was? Also yes.

Where do we start with Delores ? The season eight Below Deck charter guest made a splash, literally and figuratively, after she drunkenly jumped into the ocean late at night. To make matters worse, this swimming session was in direct defiance to Captain Lee's order to stay on the boat. In a first for his career, Captain Lee ended Delores' charter early and sent her packing.

However, while being escorted away on the tender, Delores jumped into the ocean. Bold move, lady.

Barrie boarded the Parsifal III with his blended family, including his current fiancé and his ex-husband, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . With such a large guest list, the crew was certainly put to work, especially chef Natasha . Not only did Barrie have no problem sending his breakfast back, but he also refused to have his family served buffet-style.

The first charter of Below Deck season eight was certainly a memorable one. We're, of course, talking about when the charter guests found themselves bickering over deckhand  James Hough . Specifically, charter guest Shay called dibs on the British yachtie. However, her boatmance hopes were derailed when pal Lexi flirtatiously rode a jet ski with James. Thus, a fight broke out over dinner, which shocked the Below Deck crew.

It was ladies night on the high seas in this episode of  Below Deck Mediterranean , but as the drinks flowed, some of the women started to get a little handsy  with deckhand  Jack Stirrup . Thankfully,  Captain Sandy swooped in to save the day.

The crew aboard this ship got a show they didn't ask for when two of the guests hooked up in the crow's nest, a part of the ship that everyone could see on camera.

In the same episode that the crew witnessed the on-deck hookup of two of their guests, they also discovered that their passengers also had never heard of cleaning up after themselves when they stumbled upon a used condom on the nightstand.

For the most part, the charter guest is always right. However, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , charter guest Erica requested that Captain Glenn Shephard do something to make the ship stop rocking. Unfortunately for Erica, they were in the middle of a thunderstorm and Captain Glenn didn't have the power to control the weather.

Other highlights from this charter group include a woman with hours worth of stories, bullying accusations among the ladies and so much more.

While many guests on  Below Deck have been demanding, this may be the most ridiculous request because of how random it was. On one of the episodes, guests demanded gumballs, but not just any gumballs. They had to be colored gumballs and they even threatened to require they be delivered by helicopter if there were none on board.

Not every guest has found their trip to be a five-star experience, but usually they stick around to give feedback as to why. On this episode of  Below Deck , we learn that a few of the guests straight-up ghosted upon arrival and fled the ship before even saying goodbye to the crew.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 had its fair share of horrible guests but also had a few amazing ones. Fans were first introduced to the newer Below Deck franchise in February 2020 when season 1 aired. The first season included Captain Glenn Shephard, a slew of new yachties, and one familiar face, Chef Adam Glick. However, the cast didn't resonate with fans, and Bravo did a complete cast shake-up for season 2 with only Captain Glenn returning.

Fans thoroughly enjoyed BDSY season 2, as they love the new yachties, the many boatmances, and the hilarious guests. Not to mention a surprise pregnancy with Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Lanaux , which led to a paternity test. As for BDSY season 3, it's become a must-watch with Below Deck fans.

BDSY season 3 not only saw the return of Cheif Steward Daisy Kelliher, First Mate Gary King, and Engineer Colin Macrae but always some great new additions and new boatmances. Gary, of course, found himself hooking up with more than half of the women on the boat, including his close friend Daisy. However, none of the drama between the crew compared to how much the fans adored some of the charter guests this season.

3. BDSY Season 3 Guests Who Had A Wedding

The most recent guests on BDSY season 3 are Allegra Gray and Gabe Szczepanek. The couple chartered the sailing yacht in Spain with a few friends for their upcoming wedding. While their friends were difficult for Chef Marco Spaziani to accommodate due to one of their friends' severe gluten allergy, their group was pleasant overall. Allegra and Gabe even got married during their charter, and the whole crew was in attendance.

2. BDSY Season 3 Fourth Charter Guests

Another amazing group this season was the fourth charter from BDSY season 3. Primary charter guest Jim Blumenthal and his friends were laidback, despite making the crew put on a talent show. Nonetheless, the BDSY team had fun with it, and the guests showed how much they appreciated their work with a large tip at the end.

1. BDSY Season 3 Guests From Canada

The most likable guests from BDSY season 3 were primary charter guest Lane Merrifield and his friends from Vancouver. The Canadian group had a ton of fun partying on the yacht, even though they could not sail while on board. Despite the difficult task of molecular gastronomy they asked from Chef Marcos, the guests made up for it by having the BDSY crew do hurricane shots with them. It's no surprise that the Canadian group was the best charter guests' this season.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap: Three’s a Crowd

Below deck sailing yacht.

below deck sailing yacht guests

The genius minds behind  Sailing Yacht  have saved the messiest, booze-fueled guests for last, and for that I am thankful. Instead of the penultimate episode heavily focusing on repetitive and petty crew drama, absurd guest conflict is helping end this season with a bang.

But first, let’s return to the jaw-dropping moment that concluded the previous episode. We pick up with Gary yelling at Mads for not telling him she was on her period (she confirms that she isn’t). In a confessional, he says he had an outburst because Alex knew the information first when he was the one “licking her vagina,” immediately assuming that it meant the pair were hooking up. Gary always jumps to conclusions and never thinks before he acts, and his reaction to this situation is the cherry on top of a pile of toxic behavior. Alex calls Colin and Gary the “biggest gossip queens,” which is true. But it doesn’t erase the fact that he also had a hand in this. Hasn’t he learned that secrets don’t exist on this boat?

After things cool down, Captain Glenn fires up the boat and leaves the dock to save time by setting up the water toys before the guests arrive via tender. Meanwhile, the Mads and Gary situation drags on as Gary tells Mads he was embarrassed to ask her about her period yet fails to actually apologize. At the same time, Alex blames Colin for turning it into a big deal, and Colin says he didn’t do anything wrong. I’m sure he’s relishing watching Gary act like an idiot, though. Alex then shares that he hadn’t pursued Mads out of respect for Gary but might do so now. The way these men treat women like objects to be toyed with is repulsive.

Later while cleaning the boat, Alex asks Gary if they’re on good terms. “No,” Gary responds, stating that it’s because Alex is stirring the pot to get a reaction out of him. Alex counters that he never intended for things to escalate and that it wasn’t his fault Gary reacted the way he did. “It just goes to show Gary’s leadership style is dysfunctional and toxic as fuck,” Alex shares in a confessional. True, and imagine how much simpler things would be if Gary could take accountability for his shitty behavior. It’s also mindblowing how none of them have taken into consideration how it makes Mads feel to have her personal business spread around without her consent.

In the engine room, Daisy tells Colin she hopes he hasn’t been talking to the guys about her because she’s shocked by how disrespectful Gary was toward Mads. Colin just nods and smiles as if he didn’t also play a role in the situation. This seems like the type of “dick move” he’s been calling out all season long.

While Gary and Chase head to shore to pick up the guests, Lucy and Mads discuss whether the married couple in a throuple take turns with their boyfriend and how they’d be too jealous to ever be in a throuple (same!). Once settled on the boat, the guests change into their swimsuits and head outside to play on the water toys. Alex helps Debra, co-primary Todd’s mother, onto a unicorn floaty that’s tied to the swim platform due to the strong current, but she eventually lets it loose and starts floating away while Alex is in the laz. He successfully prevents a horrible situation from happening by jumping into the water and pulling her back to the boat, safe and sound. It would’ve been a nightmare to end the season with another guest injury (or worse).

In their cabin, Colin and Chase discuss how Gary asked Chase to take the day shift so that he could avoid working with Alex, which is downright childish. In a confessional, Chase — the only mature man on the boat — says that Gary’s immature approach to dealing with conflict is what landed him in this sticky situation, which is true. The interior, meanwhile, is frustrated by the amount of alcohol the guests are consuming because it means constantly having to serve drinks. Girls, it could be worse!

While Captain Glenn sails, Ray, one member of the throuple, is so drunk that he goes to his cameraless cabin — the master suite, despite not being the primary — and starts arguing with Nic, his boyfriend, who’s trying to help by offering water and keeping him from “falling and breaking your damn neck.” Things get heated after Ray apparently wakes up on the floor. Nic attempts to defend himself by saying he tried to help but that Ray wouldn’t let him. Brad, Ray’s husband, backs Nic’s claim, and Ray cuts him off by telling Nic he’s a “guest of fucking mine,” which Brad corrects as “ours.” Mads and Lucy overhear the argument while delivering clothes the primaries asked to have pressed and report back to Daisy and Captain Glenn about the situation. Captain Glenn, who desperately wants the final charter to go smoothly, asks them to inform him if anything escalates. Not only is Ray killing the mood, but he’s not even the primary to be acting this damn entitled.

At the Glamazon–themed dinner, not even Ileisha’s incredible meal can put a stop to Ray’s classless, drunken antics. As Lucy discovers that Ray vomited in the sink and didn’t bother cleaning it after, the guests discuss, as Debra says, the public appearances of people that look like they “don’t have mirrors in their house.” Brad specifically references “very large people in very tiny clothes” who have “no respect for others around us.” Now I understand why he’s married to an asshole like Ray. The lovely co-primary Grant says that it doesn’t matter as long as the people are happy. He and Ray get into it because Ray says it matters since “you wouldn’t fuck them,” which Grant says isn’t the point. Ray tells him to shut up, followed by, “Don’t ever try me again, bitch.” Grant fights back by saying, “You barked at me, motherfucker.” It’s baffling that people like Ray choose to behave like this when knowing the world will see it, but at the same time, guests who can’t stand each other make for absolute peak  Below Deck  drama.

The primaries, like mature humans, leave the table to calm down. Shortly after, Ray decides it’s a good idea to head down to their cabin to talk with them. He walks into Grant and Todd’s room, and they tell him to leave before he can finish his sentence. When Ray refuses, they continue shouting at him to get out just as Captain Glenn arrives to make sure it doesn’t become physical. Captain Glenn, who’s rarely confrontational, tells Ray that if he sees anyone getting “agro” they’ll be kicked off the boat, and, of course, Ray gets defensive toward him. Um, nobody raises their voice at Captain Glenn!

Back on deck, Debra tells Brad that he deserves better than the monstrous Ray, and I sort of agree. Brad, whose no ray (sorry) of sunshine either, shares that Ray would “take me for everything I have” if they got divorced because they don’t have a prenup. It’s giving soap opera. I can’t imagine how much more awful Ray’s behavior is offscreen. Nic needs to run as fast as he can in the opposite direction from this awful man!!

The next morning, the guests, minus the throuple, enjoy breakfast before heading to shore for a beach workout. One guest says he wore his cursed Fyre Festival T-shirt as a reminder that “no matter how bad it gets, it could be worse.” Iconic! By the time the throuple emerges from their chamber, everyone’s already at the beach, where only the primaries and Alex are working out and using Mads as a plank platform. This distance between the two groups of guests is beneficial because there’s only so much of Ray’s bitching one can handle.

Poor Lucy once again walks into the master cabin to discover the sink covered in Ray’s puke and that the toilet hasn’t been flushed, which sets her off. She FaceTimes her dad and has a breakdown over how the guests are “fucking animals,” and he reminds her that she only has a few days left before leaving it all behind. After seeing the state of the cabin throughout the charter (Bravo, please stop including shots of the toilet bowls, I’m begging), her feelings are justified. Cleaning messes may come with the job, but these grown men are filthy.

On deck, Colin notices that Gary isn’t his “normal perky self” and thinks it’s because Alex and Mads are on the beach together. Gary says it’s because he’s tired of people, namely Daisy, asking how he feels about Mads because it shouldn’t concern anyone. Later in the engine room, Colin, who’s now perpetually paranoid when it comes to Gary and Daisy, tells Daisy that he doesn’t understand why she was asking Gary about Mads in the laundry room the previous day. Daisy counters that it’s because she noticed Gary was upset and that it wasn’t randomly brought up. In a confessional, Colin says that his “defensive mode mechanisms are kicking in” because Gary “won’t step aside” and let him and Daisy explore their relationship.

The episode concludes with Daisy and Colin discussing how Gary’s “desperate for a relationship.” More like he just wants attention and validation. Daisy says that Colin is the guy she wants to be with, which she’s said so many times that it feels like she’s mostly trying to convince herself that Colin is the right pick. However, she finally comes to her senses and realizes that Gary’s trying to “fuck with our relationship” and that boundaries need to be drawn. Better late than never!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

preview for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 trailer (Bravo)

While Season 1 of the Below Deck 's second spin-off Sailing Yacht felt tame—for lack of a better word—fans have been in for quite a treat with a nearly all-new and far more exciting cast for Season 2. So far, we've been introduced to the likes of Chief Engineer Colin Macrae, Chef Natasha, and Chief Stewardess, Daisy, all of whom have become fan favorites, and rightfully so. As the crew navigates the waters of Croatia, that isn't the only thing they're sailing through. With a plethora of hookups and questionable charter guests, this season is shaping up to be one of the rockiest.

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured colin macrae photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured gary king photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured natasha de bourg photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daisy kelliher photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured alli dore photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured jean luc cerza lanaux photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 7: "Smoke on the Water" "Another engine issue emerges, forcing Capt. Glenn to modify the plan and keep the returning guests entertained. With all the uncertainty going on in the engine room, Capt. Glenn takes control and points out the crews’ mistakes. Daisy and Colin make up after their fight as their relationship grows stronger. Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 9: "Love Boat" "Glenn dresses up for the guests' theme night; he hopes his participation helps correct a jewelry theft hiccup and is on top of his crew to make sure the women have the best trip of their lives."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 10: "Loose Lips Sink Friendships" "The crew has the day off, and even Capt. Glenn recharges by enjoying Parsifal III all to himself and riding the eFoil; Colin saves the day clearing the clogged toilets, but he gets jammed up when his honest opinion strikes a chord."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 11: "Let Them Eat Cake" "Capt. Glenn notices the standards are slipping on Parsifal lll as the crew is exhausted with the mid-season blues. Distraught that Colin and Gary aren’t speaking, Daisy takes initiative and forces them to hash out their problems. Gary’s confusing behavior has Mads confessing her feelings to Alex. Colin tries to forgive Daisy’s discretions, but she adds insult to injury after she drunkenly confuses him for Gary. On charter, after anchoring in their first destination, Parsifal lll nearly drags into a neighboring boat."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 12: "T-Bone with Stakes" "Capt. Glenn notices the crew is slipping on service when a guest is injured, and interior doesn’t hear the walkie call forcing Capt. Glenn to up the guest maintenance standards onboard. After Alex and Mads confess their feelings from the start, Mads is torn between Alex and Gary. Shaken after a close T-Bone with a nearby boat, Gary is confused when his advances to Mads aren’t being reciprocated."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 13: "Hurricane Bonnie" "Captain Glenn reprimands the crew as recent slip-ups are directly affecting communication and morale; Daisy breaks down when she's proven wrong about the walkies not working; Chef Ileisha is determined to prove she can complete a 10-course dinner."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 14: "Boat Load of Throuples" "Capt. Glenn threatens to kick one of the 'throuple' charter guests off Parsifal during a drunken guest fight. Unhappy with Gary, Alex and Colin decide to follow their hearts instead."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 episode 15: "Man Buns Has it Been Fun": "Proud of his team’s accomplishments during the final sail, Capt. Glenn believes his tough love made them all stronger. The crew celebrates their final night out and Daisy and Colin try to soak up every moment of it. Following tearless goodbyes, Capt. Glenn and Gary stay onboard Parsifal to pick up another charter season."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 cast

Captain Glenn Shepherd returns to helm the Parsifal III. This is his fourth season on the series, but he's no stranger to the ship. He's been helming the Parsifal III for over a decade.

Captain Glenn will be joined once again by Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, first mate Gary King and engineer Colin MacRae.

New to the series are chef Ileisha Dell, stews Lucy Edmunds and Mads Herrera and deckhands Chase Lemacks and Alex Propson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 plot

Bravo offered this synopsis of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 and it gives you a good sense of what's coming in the new season:

"Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy. Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay.

"In the galley, Chef Ileisha’s cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

"Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy. With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht ."

Where the Below Deck Mediterranean Yachties Stand After Season 9 (EXCLUSIVE)

With another extremely dramatic season behind them, it came time for the Below Deck Mediterranean   crew to depart Mustique and move on to greener pastures (and maybe chief stewardess roles , in the case of Elena "Ellie" Dubaich ?) during the Season 9 finale on Sept. 23.

However, before they could officially say goodbye, they had to bid Captain Sandy Yawn farewell — and reflect on all that happened to them over the course of Season 9.

Ahead, find out what cast members Captain Sandy, Ellie,  Aesha Scott ,  Johnathan Shillingford ,  Iain Maclean ,  Nathan Gallagher ,  Gael Cameron ,  Joe Bradley , and  Bri Muller  shared during the Below Deck Med Season 9 finale and what they've been up to since filming wrapped.

Captain Sandy Yawn got married

After ending the charter season with a proposal , a loved-up Captain Sandy departed Mustique to spend some special time with her new fiancée, Leah Shafer .

Fans were also offered an extra-special treat by way of an "eight months later" flash-forward that showed Sandy and Leah's gorgeous wedding . They tied the knot on a boat in Fort Lauderdale on May 11.

"In yachting and in life, I've never been more convinced that it's all about the things in life that you're passionate about. And embracing them as tight as you can," Sandy said in a voiceover. "Whether it's on land or on a boat, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life loving Leah."

Get an exclusive look at Sandy and Leah's wedding by checking out the above Below Deck Mediterranean After Show   clip.

Aesha Scott is now engaged

After being "so excited" to come back as chief stew and prove herself to Captain Sandy,  Aesha felt good about all she accomplished .

"I came, I saw, I conquered with the Greek gods. It just feels so great to walk off the boat and say, 'I'm a Med motherf-cking chief stew, b-tch," she said in a confessional.

Aesha also took a big step in her relationship after filming on Season 9 wrapped:  In May, the yachtie got engaged  to  Scott "Scotty" Dobson .

Elena "Ellie" Dubaich moved to Florida and is training to be a chief stew

While  Ellie had quite the dramatic charter season , she still left the boat with a smile. While hugging Aesha goodbye, the chief stew told her she was hardworking — a compliment Ellie appreciated, but wasn't completely thrilled about.

"I got one adjective! Hard worker. This kind of feels like when your vibrator dies halfway and you're just laying there like, 'what?'" joked Ellie in a confessional.

More recently, Ellie told The Daily Dish that she's currently based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

"I’ve spent the past year freelancing on a variety of vessels in service and I’ve worked as a solo stew," she shared in September. "I’ve taken courses on bartending, purchased liquor to practice, done a Chief Stew course and a Yacht Purser course. I feel much more confident in my skills and I’m looking forward to always learning and growing further in my career."

Joe Bradley is still best friends with Nathan Gallagher

Joe had a hard time leaving. As he put it in a confessional, "I'm going to miss every individual on this boat."

And the person he'd miss the most? Bestie Nathan, who said it was "so rare" to meet someone like Joe on a boat. With that, they both knew they'd have a lifelong friendship.

Ahead for Joe: a 27th birthday, although he has "no signs of calming down."

"I'm still going wild like I'm 19 on nights out," he joked in a confessional. "Is it my time to mature? I'm gonna say no, baby! I've got 10 years left."

In July, Joe shared an update on life post-filming for Season 9, telling The Daily Dish that he was seeking a lead deckhand role.

That, and gallivanting around New York City with Nathan. "He's my best mate for life," Joe said.

Nathan Gallagher picked up work as an engineer

While chatting with Captain Sandy on the Season 9 finale, Nathan shared that working on Mustique had upped his confidence — and was told that he'd absolutely be invited back for another charter.

"I expected to come on the boat, have fun. But this season has ... maybe it's not a bad decision to take a more responsible role moving forward in my career," he said.

In addition to staying close with Joe since filming wrapped, Nathan has been working as an engineer. More specifically, he told The Daily Dish in July, "I’m working offshore on vessels just as a solar engineer."

As far as his love life goes, see what ended up happening between Gael and Nathan after Season 9 .

Bri Muller gained a new sense of confidence

Before Bri left, she went to talk to Captain Sandy — who gave her the award for "most improved" all charter season.

"Cap, thank you for this season. And for giving me the chances that you gave me. I'm trying so hard not to cry," Bri said.

"You found out what works for you! Keep using that," responded the boss.

In a confessional, Bri further reflected on her growth this season.

"I was probably the sh-ttiest, but I'm not so sh-tty anymore!" she joked. "So thank you. Before jumping on motoryacht Mustique , like, I was lacking confidence. But the sense of pride that I'm feeling right now, I can just take that to my next job. Like, I'm a working girl now."

Gael Cameron left the boat with Nathan Gallagher

In a confessional on the Season 9 finale, Gael explained that she came into the season wanting to further her career and grow her skill level. "I really feel like I've done that," she said. "It's given me more confidence, not just in work but also, like, in life. The Gael that stepped on this boat would watch the Gael stepping off this boat with Nathan and think 'What the hell have you done?' But girl, you've got this."

All in all, Gael left the boat with a new beau — and an amazing compliment from her captain.

"If you're really into this, I recommend that you continue, because you'll make a great captain," said the boat leader.

Carrie O'Neill took on a chef role and has big plans for the future

Even though  Carrie was only on the boat for a short period of time , (most of) her fellow crew members were sad to see her go.

"Thanks for this absolute pleasure," she said upon departing, jokingly refusing Joe's request for a hug.

Since filming on Below Deck Med Season 9 wrapped, Carrie has relocated to Florida for an unexpected reason: "[I'm] working as a chef on yacht," she told The Daily Dish in September.

Added Carrie, "I have big plans to run across a rather large country in the coming months. Keep an eye on my Instagram [as] an adventure is pending."

Chef Johnathan Shillingford is considering culinary school

Though he personally hit some bumpy waters in the kitchen , Jono was ultimately proud of the work he did this season.

"I feel super proud of myself that I was able to manage a solo chef position on a boat of this size. I have more to learn, probably. I want to continue growing; there's always a solution to bounce back," explained the chef in a confessional. "I feel like I figured it out. If I do have an opportunity to go to culinary school, to do a broader, kind of more general training, I wouldn't refuse it either. I am ready to bring the twerk into the work."

While visiting Captain Sandy to bid adieu, he thanked her for all of her feedback during the charter.

"I could tell you wanted me to succeed, so thank you so much," he said.

Iain Maclean got praise from Captain Sandy

"You are a hard worker," she said. "And I appreciate that."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans sound off on Gary King’s return

Gary King on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have sounded off on Gary King’s return for Season 5.

The trailer for the new season revealed Captain Glenn Shephard, Daisy Kelliher, and Gary are back.

Last summer, Gary was accused of sexual misconduct by a production team member after he had already filmed Season 5.

Many believe the scandal was the reason for Below Deck Sailing Yacht being pushed back from spring to fall.

Now that Gary’s still on the show, fans have taken to the comments section of the official Below Deck Instagram page to speak their minds.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans sound off on Gary King’s return

There were so many remarks slamming the fact that Gary was still on the show after all the allegations against him.

“I guess Bravo isn’t worried about Gary’s alleged s3x assault claims by the one behind the scenes crew member ….,” read a remark.

Another also called out Bravo, writing, “How is Gary back?! Bravo, do better!”

A different one was shocked Gary returned, while a separate comment wished to see Daisy without Gary on the show.

Several more comments reiterated the unhappiness that Gary returns, with mentions of his bad behavior and assault allegations.

“I wish Colin was back notGary!!!” wrote a critic.

More Below Deck Sailing Yacht remarks

Others declared they wouldn’t be watching with Gary on-screen, and more were confused about how he could be back considering the scandal.

“So Daisy and Gary will get fired after 2 episodes and then it will be less of a s**t show season?” read a comment with another saying.

There was even a remark that insisted the user will watch other Below Deck shows and the next season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht as long as Gary isn’t on.

Gary slammed for BDs return

More Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans weigh in on Gary King appearing on Season 5

It wasn’t all bad or negative in the comments section of the IG post.

Some Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans are excited to have the hit show back after such a long hiatus. Plus, the trailer does look extremely entertaining, crazy, and drama-filled.

One fan can’t wait to see Daisy go off on Gary, which went down in the trailer.

BDS fans are excited for Season 5

The haters certainly came for Gary, but he did have those who stood up for him, even calling him a favorite.

Another stated that he makes the show and suggested that Gary may have been cleared of all charges.

8 Times Below Deck Producers Proved They Didn't Care About The Cast

Below Deck has been an entertaining franchise for years, but producers have made various errors that prove they don't care about their cast members. While it's expected for shows to be produced to some level, there have been times when the crew or guests' safety has been compromised for entertainment. Additionally, producer plants in Below Deck Mediterranean have nearly ruined the show.

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 has highlighted the need to call out producers. Chef Johnathan "Jono" Shillingford, Elena "Ellie" Dubaich, and Bri Muller might be producer plants . Additionally, there have been safety issues in the past that the franchise shouldn't have ignored. Below Deck Sailing Yacht might not return because of Gary King's bad behavior . Here's why producers don't care about their cast.

Producers Didn't Fire Gary

He faced sexual misconduct allegations.

One of production's greatest sins was not firing Gary after his sexual misconduct allegations. Samantha Suarez, a makeup artist on the show, claimed that Gary assaulted her during filming in 2022. She alleged that after escorting Gary, who was very drunk, back to his hotel room, he grabbed her from behind and physically restrained her. She managed to escape, but she criticized the production team for failing to limit Gary’s alcohol intake and putting her in a dangerous situation.

Production prioritized Gary's presence on the show over the safety of those on set, which is inexcusable.

Although Below Deck producers investigated the incident, keeping Gary on the show was inexcusable . Gary initially accused Samantha of seeking attention, but he later deleted his comments on Instagram. Despite the controversy, Gary returned to film Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, though he was pulled from attending BravoCon 2023 amid public backlash. He might get edited out of the season entirely or the new installment could get pulled, but production majorly messed up.

Producers Kept Ashton On After Fight With Kate

His behavior was scary and caused kate to leave the boat.

Ashton Pienaar’s attack on Kate Chastain was shocking and inexcusable, but he wasn't fired immediately after. The incident unfolded during a drunken night out where Ashton and several other crew members were partying. Ashton was super drunk and became increasingly aggressive as the night went on. Tensions escalated when Kate tried to leave the group, and Ashton, in a shocking fit of anger, punched the window of the van they were riding in , shattering the glass.

Ashton then verbally lashed out at Kate in a moment where production should have stepped in, but they let the moment unfold for drama. Finally, production intervened. Kate was visibly shaken by Ashton’s behavior and later explained that she felt physically threatened by his outburst. She left the boat after the incident, citing her emotional distress over the toxic environment. However, Ashton wasn't immediately dismissed.

Producers Kept Lexi On After Attacking Fellow Crew Members

She should've been fired sooner.

Lexi Wilson had several heated arguments with the crew, but it took forever for her to finally get fired because producers loved the drama. A major confrontation occurred during a crew night out where she insulted Chef Mathew Shea. She called him derogatory names, insulted his cooking, and even physically pushed him. This altercation should've gotten her fired, and while she was eventually dismissed, it was almost too little, too late.

Lexi was volatile many of the times she drank with the crew, and she was also consistently insubordinate and entitled as a stew onboard. Captain Sandy Yawn likes to give multiple chances, but it seems likely that production stepped in to continue the drama with Lexi until it became obvious that she couldn't be onboard anymore. However, this was an issue of well-being with the other crew members and wasn't worth the drama.

Charter Guest Brandy Shouldn't Have Been Allowed On The Yacht

She was visibly intoxicated.

The incident involving charter guest Brandy on Below Deck season 7 was one of the most memorable moments in the series, but production should have intervened sooner. Brandy was part of a group of charter guests led by Helen Hoey. From the beginning, Brandy already seemed drunk. She arrived visibly intoxicated and continued drinking heavily throughout the trip, a definite red flag for the crew.

It's the Below Deck crew's job to ensure safety onboard, and Brandy should've never gotten on the yacht.

As the day progressed, Brandy's condition deteriorated , and she became incoherent, unable to sit up straight, and slurred her speech. At one point, she wandered away from the group during a beach picnic, causing Captain Lee Rosbach and the crew to become seriously concerned. Captain Lee ultimately decided to get a doctor onboard. Brandy was diagnosed with extreme dehydration and overconsumption of alcohol. The doctor provided her with fluids, and she later recovered. However, she should never have been allowed onboard.

The Addition Of Alleged Producer Plants

It's hard to tell what's real on the show.

The addition of alleged producer plants on the show decreases trust in the Below Deck franchise's process and authenticity. Chef Jono nearly killed a guest with an allergy midway through the charter season by serving raw seafood, Bri Muller couldn't figure out how to do the laundry, and Ellie stirred up unnecessary trouble with lead deckhand Joe Bradley and Chief Stew Aesha Scott. Meanwhile, Captain Sandy allowed everybody to stay onboard amidst chaos, which feels staged.

All reality TV shows are produced to some degree, but Below Deck may have taken it too far. There's enough drama on the show without casting producer plants to enhance the entertainment value. The Below Deck producers don't care about the real cast members who are trying to do their job and provide entertainment authentically. The producer plants are damaging to the franchise.

The Jean-Luc & Dani Pregnancy

They exploited dani's pain.

The pregnancy scandal involving Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux and Dani Soares from Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 became a major source of drama, and production had a heyday. While onboard, the two developed a romantic relationship that was complicated by Jean-Luc’s immaturity, since he was only 24. Although their relationship had ups and downs, it culminated in Dani getting pregnant. In April 2021, Dani announced her pregnancy on social media , though she didn't initially share the father's identity.

She also added that Jean-Luc wasn't involved in Lilly's life. In January 2022, Jean-Luc confirmed that a paternity test had proven he was Lilly’s father. He acknowledged his role publicly and expressed a desire to be part of his daughter's life going forward. Despite this, Dani appears to be a single mother.

Unsafe Men Were Cast For The Show

Production prioritized drama over safety.

Unsafe men were consistently cast for the Below Deck franchise. Gary was an uncontrollable alcoholic who allegedly assaulted a makeup artist and got away with it. It took forever for production to fire Ashton, even after he threatened Kate. Peter Hunziker was fired mid-season after Bravo became aware of a racist social media post he made. During his time on the show, there were already complaints about his sexist comments and dismissive behavior toward female colleagues, particularly toward Malia White.

The examples keep going. Bosun Luke Jones' behavior led to one of the most shocking moments in Below Deck history. After a night of heavy drinking, he climbed into bed with a sleeping Margot Sisson without her consent. Luckily, this led to his immediate dismissal from the show. The incident raised serious concerns about safety for women on the yachts that still haven't been addressed, since Gary was never fired and even allegedly filmed Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5.

Production Doesn't Always Interfere When Needed

They don't care about the cast.

Overall, Below Deck 's production has proven that they don't always interfere when needed for the sake of drama. The Ashton and Kate situation is the most notorious, but there are more. In Below Deck Mediterranean season 5, Malia White's decision to report Hannah Ferrier’s prescription medication to Captain Sandy led to Hannah’s firing. Production should have mediated the issue more openly before it turned into a controversial plot line.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Jean-Luc's situation with Dani is another painful example of this neglected responsibility. Production should have helped facilitate a conversation between the two to prevent the situation from escalating publicly. As another example, Rhylee Gerber endured bullying and hostile behavior from her male crewmates, particularly from Ashton and the other deckhands. The aggressive and sexist behavior went unchecked, and production should have stepped in. Given all the evidence, it's clear Below Deck production doesn't care about the cast and crew's well-being.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.
