The course duration is 120 hours, which includes 50 hours of lectures, 30 hours of exercises, and 40 hours of practical navigation. The course covers a wide range of advanced topics, including advanced navigation techniques, boat handling in various weather conditions, collision avoidance, and emergency procedures. You will also learn about international maritime regulations, marine pollution prevention, and safety management. Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to command and operate yachts up to 500 gross tons for all purposes and in all areas of navigation. The certificate of the commander of a Category B yacht is valid for five years and can be renewed with a valid certificate of healthworthiness issued by an authorized physician. Objective: After successful completion of the course and after successful passing of the examination by the Harbourmasters’ Office the trainees will be competent to handle and command a yachts  up to 500 GT regardless of purpose and navigation area.

Prerequisite:

• At least 20 years of age
• Identification card or passport
• 1 passport size colored photo
• Medical exam issued by Occupational health practice in Republic of Croatia or foreign Medical Centre for Occupational Health which is authorised to issue the Certificate in compliance with the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978. as amended and the Maritime Labour Convention 2006, all after a medical examination performed in accordance with the Rules on Establishing Medical Fitness of Crew Members of Maritime Ships, Boats and Yachts.

Yacht Master Category A (Yacht up to 100 GT)

The Yacht Master Category A course is a specialized training program designed to provide yacht captains and aspiring maritime professionals with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate yachts of up to 100 gross tons in open waters. Participants undergo comprehensive training in navigation, seamanship, yacht handling, and safety procedures, tailored specifically for the unique challenges and requirements of larger yachts operating in open waters. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and on-water simulations, participants learn advanced navigation techniques, including passage planning, celestial navigation, and electronic chart plotting, to navigate safely through diverse marine environments and challenging conditions. Emphasis is placed on developing leadership, decision-making, and risk management skills to effectively manage yacht operations, ensure the safety of passengers and crew, and comply with international maritime regulations and safety standards. Upon successful completion of the course, participants are equipped with the knowledge, competence, and certification necessary to assume leadership roles as Yacht Masters and confidently navigate yachts.

Objective:  After successful completion of the course, the trainees will be competent to handle and command a yacht from 30 GT up to 100 GT regardless of purpose and navigation area.

Yachtmaster A (Zapovjednik jahte) je tečaj namenjen vsem, ki se želijo z navtiko ukvarjati profesionalno. Izpit je mednarodno priznan, ter kandidatu omogoča upravljanje s plovilom do 100 BT v komercialne namene (skiper).

Yachmaster A tečaj je sestavljen iz praktičnega ter teoretičnega dela. Praktičen poteka na večji jadrnici (15+) na Rijeki teoretični del pa v učilnici v Zagrebu ali v Rijeki. Prisotnost na tečaju je obvezna za pristop k izpitu Yachtmaster “A”

Tečaj organiziramo v sodelovanju s hrvaško pomorsko šolo Adriatic Sailing. Tečaji potekajo celo leto. Po opravljenem tečaju ter izpitu, kandidat prejme naziv Zapovjednik Jahte do 100BT/Master of Yachts up to 100GT.

Predavanja in izpit potekajo v hrvaščini.

Cilj tečaja: Kandidat koji s uspjehom završi program izobrazbe i položi ispit na Lučkoj kapetaniji ovlašten je upravljati svim vrstama brodica i jahta do 100 BT bez obzira na područje i namjenu plovidbe. Svjedodžba zapovjednika jahte kat. A do 100 BT, namijenjena je osobama koje žele raditi kao profesionalni zapovjednici jahti (skiperi) ili pak naprosto žele zapovijedati većim jahtama bilo da ih posjeduju ili uzimaju u najam.
