Located on The Hamptons’ largest marina, Montauk Yacht Club is a full-service resort just minutes from downtown Montauk. The most expensive property sale in Hamptons history, the renovated resort opened in 2023 with 107 modern yet nautical guest rooms, plus 22 standalone villas. Showfish, the property’s signature restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Il Forno offers Neapolitan-style pizzas to enjoy by the pool. A second more quiet pool, plus an indoor pool are also onsite, as is a quiet swimming beach on Lake Montauk. 

The entire waterfront property is dog- and family-friendly, with attentive service and amenities including paddleboards and kayaks, free cruises on the property’s electric yacht, and more – all with no resort fee. Outdoor sofas, dock chairs and loungers are ample across the hotel, so there are plenty of spaces to lounge, relax with a book (or smartphone, WiFi is strong), order a spritz and unwind. The crowd ranges from city and suburban weekenders to local folks who park their boats (yachts) on-site, with notorious late-night parties raging when Showfish transitions to club mode with a DJ. Don’t worry: the guest rooms are far enough away if you want a quiet, good night’s sleep, or if you just want to conveniently roll into bed at 4am.

Neighborhood

Located on Star Island on Lake Montauk, Montauk Yacht Club is at the edge of the East End hamlet, and a resort neighborhood within itself. That is, you don’t have to leave once you check in, and if you arrive by or have access to a boat, you can travel by water to local restaurants, beaches and more. Secluded from the summertime chaos of Montauk proper, but close enough to all the hubbub, Montauk Yacht Club is a getaway within a vacation town. 

Ditch Plains Beach:  Montauk’s famous surf beach is a top spot to sink your toes in the sand, catch a wave or watch the pros board in the Atlantic. Grab a bite from the popular food truck Ditch Witch and enjoy the scenic oceanfront views. 

Fisher’s Montauk :  Opened in summer 2023, this year-round Scandinavian restaurant melds Montauk ingredients and style with Nordic flavors in a stylish dining room and romantic backyard. Visit for grilled langoustines with herb butter, crispy cod with egg salad, natural wines and more. 

Surf Lodge :  For a fun night out, head to this luxe renovated motel which boasts an on-site beach to lounge on, plus a stage for live music. A full bar, small bites, and even a vegan lobster roll are served if you’re out for a casual hang, or sit down at the indoor-outdoor restaurant for a full meal after a show.

The location and peacefulness of the property. Early fall fire pits to end your night was a plus! Shout out to Michael our driver and Dennis from the docks who were genuine people, big hearts and were always there to help and guide us.

Undisclosed charges of Pet fees ($100/day!!!) & Water Club Fees ($50/day) even for the guests who do no water activities, and the indoor pool accessibility posted on Booking.com was incorrect. It was closed for renovation or whatever reason the staff said. This made us feel less reliable about booking.com.

The food. It could be better. Again the service was great, but for how much you’re paying, the food was pretty bland. Much nicer food elsewhere for roughly the same cost. I didn’t finish one full meal there as the food was just so boring or bland

Stunning location and property. Couldn’t fault the staff nor the cleanliness and tidiness of everything. From the room to the amenities - everything is catered to you.

Drinks are very expensive.

Beautiful property. Two pools arcade shops restaurant and outside bar. A mini resort feel. Clean spacious rooms. My favorite spot in Momtauk. Expensive but worth a splurge every so often.

Air conditioning unit really loud in the room and mandatory valet parking didn't make sense when the car park is opposite the hotel. Often the valet was busy with another car so it would have been quicker to get it ourselves.

Facilities and proximity to the rest if Montauk. Maureen the concierge was the star of the show and gave great recommendations.

There was no Wifi in the hotel. Breakfast could be served later, especially on a Sunday.

The location is beautiful: on the marina, with two nice pools, not too big. There are a lot of activities we can do (boat tour, paddle, yoga, bike). The rooms are beautiful, very comfortable and the amenities lovely.

We were a bit disappointed with our stay this go around. Tuesday we saw a few ants in the room. We made sure to keep all food in zip locks or in the fridge so this was a bit of a surprise. This morning at the crack of dawn my son woke up screaming because there were ants in his bed. There also were covering the counter. I get that you can’t eradicate every bug, especially on the beach in the summer. But this was out of control. My father who was in the room next store, said he had a similar infestation. I reached out both via the property website and booking.com website with no response on either.

Absolutely loved the hotel! The decor was beautiful, the staff was helpful and very friendly and I loved my room. I do plan to return next year.

The food was very good, pool does get busy but when available is great.

Everything! The service was excellent, the rooms were spacious with a beautiful water view. The staff were very attentive, it was easy to get around the property, and it’s close to town.

The Family and I have been Boating on Long Island/Connecticut for 25+ years- and have seen all the marinas/clubs within 100 nautical miles- This place is just as good as it gets- it's tops. It's a Private club, but sometimes they take transients- so if you're lucky and can get in- I would pay any price to spend a couple of nights on my boat here. Owned and operated by seasoned industry professionals (Steve K and his family) service is a priority here. But the classic Tudor brick architecture of the inn, the decor of the completely different and lovely 18 guest rooms, the Impeccably maintained grounds, state of the art marina, amazing restaurant, great heated pool, awesome spa and health club are tops in Montauk. This is as close to 5 star that Montauk has! And by the way- prices.. Ridiculously low for what they offer- dock, food, rooms- a most incredible value. Here you'll find a Wonderful environment with an upscale membership of lovely families, but there's no pretension here. Do yourself a favor and skip the yacht club, star island etc, boat 10 minutes longer into the lake and see this place- just take a cab to those other zoos if you want to hang with the riff raff at the other dives. Spend a night at this club, and you'll kill to stay a week! Major kudos to Judy and Linda in the office (so accommodating and professional), Debbie at the pool (just the Bomb!) Jim the dock-master (terrific guy), Richard the chef (outstanding food, including a serious complimentary hot breakfast for overnight guests), AMAZING bathrooms and showers (possibly better than your home) and lastly but most importantly Bryan the restaurant manager and his amazing service crew - in the restaurant. George, Phillip, Carlton, Kevin, Devine, Michael. So very competent and accommodating! Been there three weekends already this season- Plan to be there at least 3-4 more before it's over!

They treated family terribly during a recent wedding and their bbq's are generally pretty gross

This place is a scam. The management is sketchy and the service is terrible. I would not recommend anyone eat here or host an event here

Terrible management - friends has their wedding here recently and management was extremely unprofessional throwing in additional costs two days before the wedding that were not agreed upon. If you are thinking of having an event here I would definitely reconsider.

This place just doesn't get it. Terrible service, terrible ownership. This place has so much potential but is truly terrible in every way.

Do not host a wedding or event here ever! My sister had her wedding here and 2 days before, they broke the contract and forced them to pay a significant amount of money in order to keep the venue. Complete schemers. Avoid at all costs

We got married at the montauk lake club. The owner of the club completely violated our contract 2 days before our wedding. Due to Covid we had to move our wedding celebration 1 year and still got married with a small celebration at the club ( using dollars on top of our deposits ) we were told we could use our deposits towards the wedding celebration one year later ( and had these agreements in place for over one year ). Two days before the wedding celebration the owner forced us to pay thousands of dollars or he won't hold the event. All of our great times at the club were completely ruined by this. Causing emotional and financial distress two days before an event is unacceptable and I would warn anyone interested in hosting an event here before doing so. The owner is not flexible, will not get on the phone to speak with you directly, and completely un-accommodating.

Zena & Lawrence, Congratulations once again on your wedding. It is with great regret to read your recent comment on what was a truly wonderful wedding weekend at our private club as evidenced by the numerous comment cards left by your family and guests. I remind that your signed contract which I can publicly post if you would like, clearly states that your contracted guest count was 200. The clubs minimum for any private function is 180 also indicated in the signed contract. A few additional fact: 1. Your final guest count was reduced to 73. 2. The site fee includes your annual membership, and has nothing to do with an event, food or beverage. As a private club no event is performed for non-members. 4. Contracted payment policy clearly indicates full payment prior to function. 3. The Club permitted your modifications from 200 to 73 guests a 63% reduction in your event costs. Your wedding day may come and go, but may your love forever grow! Montauk Lake Club

Amazing staff, beautiful grounds and facilities. Had an awesome weekend here and can't wait to go back!

We had the wedding reception for my daughter's wedding at the Montauk Lake Club in early October 2015. The venue is simply beautiful, the staff at the club is very professional and experienced. The chef is superb, he prepared a delicious menu, beautiful presentation for 180 guests. I highly recommend the Montauk Lake Club for a wedding reception.
