Matau's supreme comfort is the perfect platform to have an epic adventure or to unwind and relax surrounded by the most beautiful places on Earth. Matau has accommodation for eight in one king and three queen en suite cabins. Exceptional is the word for the king-bedded master stateroom with an en suite bath as large as the guest cabins and the luxury of a full-size Jacuzzi tub. There are so many choices on deck the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the teak beach, and broad steps aft (very easy water access) that everyone will find their own favorite spot.

Offered by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht MATAU is a 75 ft sailing catamaran. The most valuable elements of MATAU are her absolute comfort and experienced crew. MATAU spends the season in US Virgin Islands. She was completed by the famous yacht builder Privilege in 2006. A succesful refit was finalized in 2021. The spacious yacht layout features 3 cozy cabins and easily accommodates a group of 6 guests.

MATAU is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is generous, with a prominent dining and seating area and that's where the guests spend most of their time. The tasteful cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. The cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). Multiple portholes provide a connection with the natural world outside.

The sailboat features Engine Type: Turbo diesels 315 horsepower each Generator Type: 2 Onan 22 KW each engines and a generator.

Captain/Engineer: Howard Langton A highly skilled and competent yacht captain and engineer with an extensive maritime career sailing throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian ocean, Tasman and the Great Southern Ocean. Very versatile and good humoured, Howard is adept at handling a variety of situations, from the simple to the most challenging ones. He is also very eager and committed to a high standard of excellence, putting in every effort to ensure that each moment spent on board is flawless and meets his guests’ greatest expectations. Passionate about the history of sailing, Howard has sailed on Square Rig Tall Ships, as well as racing modern sloops, cats and ketches. He has a Law degree, climbed Kota Kinabalu and won a Mia Tai boxing match. Proud to be at the helm, Captain Howard is a jack of all trades and the Master of Matau. Stewardess: Sasha Kadun Sasha grew up in Canada on the West Coast and discovered from an early age that exploring and being near the water is what makes her happy. She finds the ocean to be a place where calm and chaos work so perfectly in unison. Having always traveled with her family - whether camping local or visiting Mexico, she realized she wanted to explore the world. Therefore, the decision to move abroad 8 years ago wasn’t a hard one. With a solid background in high end hospitality and working as an executive assistant, she moved to Belgium with her best friend and managed a cafe that allowed her to explore other parts of Europe in her time off. She then moved on to live in the Cayman Islands, as well as spending a year backpacking in South America. She has a passion for health and fitness and is a certified Yoga Instructor. She began her yachting career on large Luxury motor yachts before she joined the life of the sailing boats and has not looked back. Always radiant and cheerful, she will delight you with her laughter and her incredible service. Sasha looks forward to welcoming guests with a tasty cocktail on arrival and an unforgettable sailing experience.

The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Catamaran MATAU is a 75ft Privilege. This is a 2006 catamaran that was beautifully refitted in 2019. We were very impressed by the space and the elegance of this catamaran, both indoors and outdoors. The saloon is wide, has a high ceiling and is full of light.

Catamaran MATAU has accommodation for eight in four en suite cabins: - a great-sized Master cabin with a king-sized bed, large bathroom and a luxury, full-size Jacuzzi tab. - Three queen size cabins

The deck area is very spacious and offers various options for dining and lounging. There are: trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck with a dining area too, cockpit dining and lounging space, the teak beach club area and broad steps aft (with very easy access to the sea).

Catamaran MATAU is available for charters in the Caribbean and we could not recommend it more highly.

APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance): APA is an estimate (usually 30% of the charter rate) paid with the balance for covering running costs during the charter (food, drinks, fuel, mooring fees, and anything else that guests might need while on charter). Final accounts will be produced by the Captain at the end of the charter and any unused funds will be refunded in full to the Charterer directly. If the funds are not sufficient, the Captain will advise the Charterer accordingly and bills will be settled upon disembarkation.

Crew Gratuity: Although discretionary, a crew gratuity of 20% of the charter fee is customary.

CYBA/MYBA terms will apply.

Payment conditions: 50% of the charter rate within 7 days of signing the charter agreement, remaining 50% plus VAT plus APA, at least 5 weeks before the beginning of the charter.

Chef Mark Stanzione - With experience in American, French, Italian, Cajun, and Korean fare, as well as 10 years of private chef and restaurant experience, he will meet the highest expectations of the most discerning guest.

Chris Newton (Mate) - Our resident water sports expert will also amaze you with his knowledge of ornithology and ichthyology. He developed an interest in the outdoors and the ocean in his formative years. Having grown up in Namibia, he has always been surrounded by nature and so has a great appreciation for its delicate beauty. This respect was further developed through his diving career in Fiji as well as his 8 year sailing career.

Built in 2006, Matau offers guest accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and two double cabins. There are 4 beds in total, including 4 queen. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on Matau is easy thanks to the available amenities such as a deck jacuzzi, perfect to enjoy the scenery with your favourite drink in hand.

Matau benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter such as Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Matau comfortably cruises at 9 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots with a range of up to 1,000 nautical miles.

Onboard Matau has a range of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Principle among these are three waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Also there are two wakeboards so guests can show off at speed. In addition there are two kayaks - a tranquil and relaxing way to pass the time. If that isn't enough Matau also features fishing equipment, scuba diving equipment and snorkelling equipment. Matau also sports a Walker Bay Tender to transport you with ease.

Matau is available upon request for charter this summer. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in Central America.

The flagship from Alliaura, the new Privilege 745 is a stunning masterpiece of advanced technology and quality craftsmanship. Marc Lombard’s design excellence is proven once again with ample volume created by the bridge deck helm station. All sail handling systems and controls can be operated from here leaving the aft cockpit uncluttered and completely available for guest enjoyment, entertainment and alfresco dining. The bridge deck is however used to full advantage with the added advantages of a seating area, table and a sunbathing platform allowing guests dazzling surrounding views.

MATAU’s elegance and practicality continues inside. The interior décor is art deco style with pale wood, white leather upholstery and sophisticated black and red accents – the perfect setting for a drink or a stylish dinner. Sailing Catamaran MATAU offers accommodation for eight in four spacious cabins. The master is most impressive with a large king sized centre-lined bed and a private ensuite furnished with a luxurious full-size Spa Pool tub. Three further spacious cabins offer queen sized beds and each has a private en suite.

How To Charter 'Matau'

Planning your itinerary.

We will provide advice and guidance on the cruising area most suited to your group,  some itineraries offer exciting blue water sailing whilst others with easy beach access and short sails are more suited to families with young children.

Once you have decided on the cruising area we will make recommendations on the best routes, must see things to do, anchorages off the beaten track or perhaps the best beach bar for sun-downers – what-ever your requirements a personal itinerary will be planned for your trip.

Once on board you will be able to discuss plans each day over breakfast – the wonderful thing about a private yacht charter is that YOU get to decide the pace of the trip and that in consultation with the Captain the itinerary is entirely flexible.

Where ‘Matau’ Sails

Available for charter throughout the Caribbean Island chain. From the British Virgin Islands to the Grenadines there are a wide range of locations to suit all groups & requirements.

The British Virgin Islands are suited to families with young children and those new to sailing;   St Barths & St Martin offer similar glitz and glamour to the French Riviera;   St Kitts, Nevis & Antigua are all about historical colonial charm (and some amazing beaches); Dominica, St Lucia & St Vincent are full of lush rainforest, water-falls & stunning scenery; and the Grenadines are a beautiful group of Islands with great variety and world class diving.

Availability

Once we know your preferred cruising area we’ll send a selection of recommended yachts - you’ll see crew details, photos, menus and full specifications, we’ll then liaise with the yacht owners to confirm costs and availability.

Matau's supreme comfort is the perfect platform to have an epic adventure or to unwind and relax surrounded by the most beautiful places on Earth. Matau has accommodation for eight in one king and three queen en suite cabins. Exceptional is the word for the king-bedded master stateroom with an en suite bath as large as the guest cabins and the luxury of a full-size Jacuzzi tub. There are so many choices on deck the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the teak beach, and broad steps aft (very easy water access) that everyone will find their own favorite spot.

Represented by DMA Yachting, the breathtaking charter yacht MATAU is a 75 ft sailing catamaran. The highlights of MATAU are her impeccable styling and alfresco dining areas. MATAU spends the season in St. Maarten/St. Martin. She was completed by the famous yacht builder Privilege in 2006. A succesful refit was delivered in 2021. The well-planned yacht layout features 3 generous cabins and easily accommodates a group of 6 guests.

MATAU is presented primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where the guests spend most of their time. The fascinating cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). The cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

Very versatile and good humoured, Howard is adept at handling a variety of situations, from the simple to the most challenging ones. He is also very eager and committed to a high standard of excellence, putting in every effort to ensure that each moment spent on board is flawless and meets his guests’ greatest expectations. Passionate about the history of sailing, Howard has sailed on Square Rig Tall Ships, as well as racing modern sloops, cats and ketches. He has a Law degree, climbed Kota Kinabalu and won a Mia Tai boxing match. Proud to be at the helm, Captain Howard is a jack of all trades and the Master of Matau. Stewardess: Sasha Kadun Sasha grew up in Canada on the West Coast and discovered from an early age that exploring and being near the water is what makes her happy. She finds the ocean to be a place where calm and chaos work so perfectly in unison. Having always traveled with her family - whether camping local or visiting Mexico, she realized she wanted to explore the world. Therefore, the decision to move abroad 8 years ago wasn’t a hard one. With a solid background in high end hospitality and working as an executive assistant, she moved to Belgium with her best friend and managed a cafe that allowed her to explore other parts of Europe in her time off. She then moved on to live in the Cayman Islands, as well as spending a year backpacking in South America. She has a passion for health and fitness and is a certified Yoga Instructor. She began her yachting career on large Luxury motor yachts before she joined the life of the sailing boats and has not looked back. Always radiant and cheerful, she will delight you with her laughter and her incredible service. Catamaran Matau Overview

Matau is a Privilege 745 with a professional crew of four. This is the largest catamaran built by Privilege. The architect Marc Lombard said he designed a very stable boat that could satisfy both sail and power yacht fans. She can average 15 knots sailing and 12 knots motoring.

Step into Matau's salon whose stunning décor has more than a dash of art deco style with pale wood, white leather upholstery and sophisticated black and red accents. The perfect setting for cosmopolitans and martinis with Noel Coward songs playing in the background.

The interior was designed by Dierdre Design a multi-awarded Design company. There is ample room inside, with an impressive Master suite with its own full-size jacuzzi tub. Matau has accommodation for eight in one king and three queen en suite, air-conditioned cabins. All guests' state rooms have true walk-around berths.

There are so many choices on deck - the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the teak beach, and broad steps aft (for easy water access) - that everyone will find their own favorite spot for sunning and relaxing.

   Sample Itinerary

Matau is available for charter throughout the Caribbean, including the British Virgin Islands out of Tortola, the Leeward Islands out of St Martin and Antigua, and the Grenadines out of St Vincent. Matau is flexible and can cater to any itinerary request.

Here is a brief overview of a possible itinerary in the Grenadines:

With the Caribbean Tradewinds it's fabulous to start your charter in Young Island Cut, St Vincent, and end in St Georges, Grenada. No matter what time your flight comes into St Vincent it's less than an hour's sail to Bequia!

At Young Island Cut there is a fantastic climb to the top of Fort Duvernette to see an old historical fort including cannons From Her Majesty's Royal Navy. The spectacular view of the surrounding reefs and of course your private charter yacht!

Bequia is still filled with a working harbor of fisherman, whalers, ferries and any kind of yacht you can imagine. There is the Turtle Sanctuary that can take you on a tour to the other side of the island.

Diving and snorkeling is plentiful! There have been sightings of rays, dolphins, whales and even a sea horse!

Bequia's markets, stores and town are built on the harbor's edge and walking the curved beach is a truly Caribbean experience.

On your sail out of Bequia to Mustique, you will see an unusual home built in the cliff side called Moonhole. This was built by the architect Tom Johnston long ago and is now unlived in.

Enjoy Macaroni Beach in Mustique - most times you can have it all to yourself. This beach has been rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world. An open air taxi tour is always fun for those who want to know the "who's who" of Mustique's homes and properties.

Snorkeling along the long beach and reef in Britannia bay is refreshing and around the corner Lagoon Bay is terrific. The best happy hour on the island for the view is Firefly. They have courtesy pick-ups and the view, drinks etc cannot be beat. Another chance to look down over your private charter yacht at sunset.

Onward to the famous Tobago Cays. If you can possibly swing spending two days here, it is worth it. There is much to do and see in this area and is not to be missed. Just the color of the waters will take your breath away! Sailing out to Petit Tabac (where a scene From the first Pirates of Caribbean was filmed) gives you the feeling of being marooned yourself! There is a turtle sanctuary, plenty of beaches and the snorkeling is endless. The evening's event is a BBQ while watching the sunset over Mayreau, All specially prepared for you on the beach under the stars.

Mayreau has a very special anchorage called Salt Whistle Bay. It has a horseshoe beach, palm trees rustling in the Caribbean breeze and also a narrow beach to see beyond to the ocean. A walk up to the top of Mayreau after lunch, when the sun is past its zenith, will display shades of every kind of the color blue. Overlooking all the reefs in Tobago Cays it is worth the hike up!

A short sail to Union Island where one of the most unusual islands exist .... Happy Island. This is man made by a local named Jante who is a delightful host. Although not very big in size it's big in Caribbean style!

Sandy Island, Caricaou is not to be missed. For being nothing but a sand bar, it has a lot to offer. The snorkeling here is wonderful on the east end. Pelicans perform all around you like a dance.

On the sail down to Grenada you can stop and have lunch at a desolate harbor only a few miles from Grenada's active volcano, Kick-em-Jenny.

Grenada is a magical place. The locals here offer the best hospitality in the Caribbean. I always recommend that guests spend 1 full day here since there is so much to experience. Grenada highlights include the Seven Sisters waterfalls, the Botanical Gardens, the Chocolate Factory and numerous monkeys. And please do not miss a walk around the Carenage for a true sense of a West Indian City and culture.

Accommodation: Luxury Sailing Catamaran MATAU offers comfortable accommodation for up to 8 adult guests in four spacious stateroom including three queen doubles and one stunning master with a king size bed and oversize en-suite. All cabins have spacious en-suite showers and separate heads facilities with individually controlled air conditioning units and video and audio entertainment systems. 

Luxury Sailing Catamaran MATAU's charter rates: Luxury Sailing Catamaran MATAU super yacht charter prices start at 39,000 US$'s per week in low season and for up to 2 guests.  The rates are also 42,000 US$'s for 4 guests, 45,000 US$'s for 6 guests and 48,000 US$'s for up to 8 guests. High season prices start from around 43,000 US$'s per week for 2 guests and go up to 45,000 US$'s for 4 guests, 47,000 US$'s for 6 guests and 49,000 US$'s for up to 9 guests. All rates are all inclusive under the Caribbean Terms but plus general APA expenses to cover costs of transfers and on board communication or expensive drinks which are not included.  Mediterranean charter rates: When in the Mediterranean, the charter rates are 49,000 Eur in low season and 55,000 Eur in high season plus local VAT and 25% APA EXPENSES. as per regular MYBA terms. In some locations VAT can be charged on top and prices can be higher on special days such as NEW YEAR or during special events such as Boat shows.   Special offers, negotiated deals and last minute discounts are available on request.

Luxury crewed charter yacht MATAU is fully air conditioned throughout. This is a non-smoking vessel. MATAU´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 4 including the captain Drew Meyers has a separate head and shower. Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

MATAU is a 22m/75’ luxury sailing catamaran designed by PRIVILEGE Yachts of France back in 2005.  She is normally cruising around the Eastern Caribbean Islands during winter months and may cruise around the enchanting coast of New England during the summer. This 22m super yacht can accommodate up to 8 guests in 1 master, and 3 queen en suite cabins.  Her super yacht crew are happy to offer ONE WAY or TANDEM charters between other destinations too and on request with charters in NEW Zealand, Tahiti, Bora Bora and Society Islands offering during 2015. MATAU is a luxury sailing catamaran , normally cruising at speeds of around 12kn.  Thanks to her twin super yacht diesel engines each of which has 210hp, she comfortably cruises at speeds of around 12kn when under motor power, while under perfect sailing conditions, she can reach speeds of around 15kn. Her best features are luxury Privilege styling, fabulous master cabin with Jacuzzi tub and excellent choice of watersports equipment including full SCUBA equipment for up to 8 guests.

MATAU sailing catamaran accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 en-suite staterooms. Cabin configuration - - 1 x Master with king size bed - 3 x Double with queen size bed

There is also individual controlled air conditioning, SAT TV, iPhone dock and en-suite bathroom, MATAU is fully air conditioned throughout. Her super yacht crew of up to 4, including the captain Virginia Wagner or Marques Hall, have separate crew quarters with heads and showers and may share companion way with clients.

Water sports

For the more active guests , luxury crewed yacht MATAU carries a large selection of watersports toys.

This includes: - One 16’ / 5.5m Walker Bay super yacht tender with 90hp outboard - Inflatable toys including towing ring and tubes - Wakeboard - Body surfboard - Waterskis for adults and children, - 2 x Double Kayaks, - Snorkelling equipment. - Fishing equipment - Broad steps for easy access to the water - DIVE Master onboard with 8 scuba tanks - Diving lights - Diving arranged by rendez-vous as well --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Waverunner, Jet Ski’s, FlyJetBoard, Sea Bobs and other toys may be available on request. - Windsurf, Kayaks, SUP paddle boards, Mountain Bikes etc, may be offered on request - Floating pools, Superyacht Water slides, Waterparks could be arranged on request - Giant inflatable MANTA RAY - Inflatable raft, toys and water animals, Halyard flying, Spinnaker pole swinging all on request and if available - Cabanas, Trampolines, nets, balance beams, swings and slides or sea-rockers could be arranged on request - Submarine and Sub Aqua Toys, SeaBobs and other similar toys may be arranged on request - A massage therapist can be invited on board throughout the charter as well yet a guest cabin would have to be allocated.
