DILBAR Yacht – Glamorous $800M Superyacht

At 156 meters (512 ft), DILBAR yacht is the fifth-longest yacht in the world.

If measured by tonnage, she actually ranks in first place as the largest yacht in the world by interior volume. DILBAR was built by Luerssen in Germany in 2016.

The interior of the DILBAR yacht was designed by Andrew Winch’s studio based in London. Twelve luxury suites can accommodate 24 guests onboard the yacht.

An impressive 96-member crew finds space below deck and tends to every need the guests might have.

The crew can move through the vessel on separate crew passageways to ensure maximum privacy and a luxurious experience.

The superyacht has a gym, sauna, spa, elevator system, beauty salon, and sauna, all for the comfort and entertainment of the guests.

She also has the largest indoor pool ever installed on a yacht, measuring a total length of 25 meters.

The interior of DILBAR features a classical yacht design with beautiful wood elements and opulent furnishings.

Blue and gold accents take the interior design of the impressive superyacht to the next level and have earned her several design awards in the past.

Specifications

The DILBAR yacht has a total length of 156 meters (512 ft), a beam of 25.7 meters (84.4 ft), and a draft of 6 meters (19.8 ft).

She was built in 2016 by the Luerssen shipyard in Lemwerder, Germany and the project took more than four years to complete.

Her tonnage lies at 15,917, but she can still reach top speeds of 23 knots despite her weight. Her average cruising speed lies at 18 knots, and she is powered by twin diesel engines.

DILBAR is a multi-award-winning yacht with an array of unusual features. Her exterior was designed by the Monaco-based studio of Espen Oeino, which has worked on some of the world’s largest yachts.

The exterior of DILBAR is white with bronze and ivory accents to match Usmanov’s other luxury vessels. The yacht has two helipads that can hold Usmanov’s H175 helicopter.

Several sunbathing decks with a great selection of seating areas make this yacht the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning sea views.

DILBAR yacht for an estimated sales price of US $800 million, although this number could be even higher.

The yacht generates a further US $50 to 80 million in annual running costs.

Making Superyacht DILBAR: The World’s Largest Yacht

A new time-lapse video of the 156m/512ft superyacht DILBAR , confirmed as the world’s largest yacht in terms of volume, has been released to celebrate her recent delivery to the Mediterranean .  

The spectacular footage provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of DILBAR under construction at the Lurssen shipyard as well as aerial shots of her 2,000nm delivery passage to the Mediterranean .

DILBAR is now the world’s largest yacht with a gross tonnage of 15,917 tons, surpassing superyacht ‘Al Said’, a fellow build from the shipyard measuring in at 15,850 tons.  

Indeed, as she takes shape, viewers can see her sheer scale as well as the huge amount of labor involved in her 52-month build as welders and other craftsmen get to work on her hull and superstructure.

Lurssen also revealed that the motor yacht was ‘one of the most complex and challenging yachts that has ever been built, both in terms of dimension and technology'.

As luxury yacht DILBAR gets underway and smoothly cuts through the water, the video unveils the curved and fluid lines which make up her timeless profile as well as her expansive foredeck and sundeck aft, both home to helipads.

She is also said to ‘provide spaces in the interior which have never been seen on a yacht before’. But the superyacht world is left guessing what these could be as the Andrew Winch-styled interior remains a heavily guarded secret.

In terms of length, M/Y DILBAR is the fourth largest yacht in the world.

According to her German builder Lurssen's description, Dilbar is one of the most complex and challenging yachts ever built, in terms of both dimensions and technology.

Dilbar: 7 Facts

You’ve probably all heard of the yacht “Dilbar”. She is, after all, the world’s biggest yacht! Dilbar was built by Lurssen in Bremen, Germany. A feat of engineering, she is absolutely unbelievable. Just check out these stats.

1. Dilbar has a displacement tonnage of 1230: equal to around 186 Elephants .

Your average African Bush Elephant weighs just over 6000kg. There are (more or less) 907 kg in one US ton.

So, if we know that an elephant weighs 6.62 tons, we can also conclude that Dilbar is truly as heavy as a whole load of Elephants.

2. She has a colossal amount of cabling onboard…

…1,100 km worth to be exact; which is longer than the drive from the very North to the southern-most point of France (a mere 962km). For a yacht 156m long and 23m wide, that’s seriously impressive. Ooh-la-la! ??

3. Owner & Guest living space onboard is spread over 3,800 square metres, or 104 London apartments .

According to the Guardian newspaper, the average London flat covers 46 square metres- meaning Dilbar is much, much larger than your flat (and your friend’s flats, and their parents flats, and their neighbors flats, all rolled into one).????

4. Lurssen says that the 156m Dilbar only took 52 months to build.

To put this into perspective, it took around 100,000 slaves over 20 years to build the Great Pyramid : a stone structure of average height with no diesel engines or advanced audio-visual system.

5. Reportedly, you could actually fit the owner’s previous boat ONA inside Dilbar with space to spare.

This one doesn’t need much more explaining. The owner is Russian though, so it could be that he’s playing some sort of yacht-version of matryoshka dolls… ??

6. There’s a 25m swimming pool onboard, which is the largest superyacht pool in existence.

Dilbar has a beam (width) of 23m and a draft (depth below the water) of 6m, so this pool is relatively massive! Our sources tell us that the pool is around 6m across and around 2m deep, falling to 1m at the shallow end. Therefore we can perform a variable depth calculation to find the volume- which results in an estimated requirement of 225,000 liters of water to fill the Dilbar swimming pool.

Now, a typical Shell or BP Oil Truck can hold 11,000L (see where I’m going here…?). You would need 21 Oil Trucks filled with water just to fill the Dilbar swimming pool.

What’s even more incredible is that, due to the pesky free-surface effect, this pool probably has to be drained every time the boat is moved in order to maintain stability. The watermakers onboard would have to work at an incredible speed and efficiency to get this filled in time for the owner to take a dip once the anchor is dropped!

7. You definitely wouldn’t know all of your colleagues for quite some time if you were new onboard Dilbar…

The average human (never mind a hardworking yacht crew member) consumes 2kg of food a day. This means that the Dilbar chefs cook a whopping 73,000 kg worth of crew meals a year to keep their hungry colleagues’ ship shape and ready for work.

Super yacht extra lusso: dal dilbar da 600 milioni al koru da mezzo miliardo di euro.

Olbia Vedere uno specchio d’acqua pieno di yacht significa sognare ad occhi aperti. Sognare le cifre, sì, ma molto più concretamente gli interni di quelle ville galleggianti. Il “Dilbar” dell’oligarca Alisher Usmanov è da record. Con i suoi 153 metri di lunghezza, in questi anni è stato spesso il superyacht per eccellenza in Costa Smeralda. Un valore di oltre 600 milioni di euro che lo ha candidato a imbarcazione più costosa. Ma il rapporto stretto con Vladimir Putin è costato caro a Usmanov. Nel 2022 nell'ambito delle sanzioni conseguenti all'attacco russo dell'Ucraina, ha subito anche lui il congelamento dei beni. E il “Dilbar” è stato sequestrato dalle autorità tedesche nel porto di Amburgo dove si trovava per alcuni lavori di manutenzione.

Alternativo e megalomane in tutto, Jeff Bezos si è fatto costruire un superyacht a vela unico nel suo genere. Si chiama “Koru”, una parola maori che vuol dire anello, si usa per riferirsi ai nuovi inizi. Un gigante dei mari con tre alberi che arrivano a 70 metri di altezza, l’imbarcazione ha una lunghezza di 127 metri ed è riconoscibilissima. Tra i dettagli, la polena del veliero ha viso e busto a immagine di Laura Sanchez, la compagna di Bezos. Il “Koru” vale almeno 500 milioni di euro ma non si muove mai da solo.

Ad accompagnare il veliero c’è sempre una nave di supporto, “Abeona” , superyacht con tanto di pista di atterraggio per elicotteri. Tra i più noti nelle acque sarde, “ Al Mirqab”, 133 metri, di proprietà dello sceicco Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emiro del Qatar, capo di diverse multinazionali e proprietario del Paris Saint-Germain. Valore di “ soli” 250 milioni di euro, ma le stime sono in continuo aggiornamento. Qualche dettaglio che può farne capire la maestosità: a bordo ha un equipaggio di 60 persone, può ospitare 24 passeggeri, al suo interno ci sono 10 suite e 2 suite esclusive. Ognuna con bagno, soggiorno e camera matrimoniale. A bordo, un cinema, bar, piscina, jacuzzi, pista per elicotteri.

Naufragio yacht Bayesian, indagato il comandante Cutfield

L'uomo ieri è stato ascoltato per due ore dai magistrati della procura di Termini Imerese. L'iscrizione nel registro degli indagati è propedeutica al conferimento degli incarichi della procura per le autopsie, che saranno eseguite sulle sette vittime

È indagato ufficialmente per naufragio e omicidio plurimo colposi James Cutfield, 50 anni, il comandante neozelandese del Bayesian, il veliero affondato una settimana fa a Porticello nel palermitano in cui sono morte sette persone.  La notizia  è stata anticipata da alcuni organi di stampa  e confermata dall'agenzia di stampa Ansa.  I magistrati della Procura di Termini Imerese lo hanno ascoltato ieri pomeriggio per la seconda volta a distanza di una settimana. L'iscrizione nel registro degli indagati al momento del solo comandante è propedeutica al conferimento degli incarichi della procura per le autopsie che saranno eseguite dai medici dell'istituto di medicina legale del Policlinico sulle sette vittime.

I nodi su cui lavora la procura

La procura di Termini Imerese ha deciso per l'iscrizione nel registro di Cutfield dopo averlo interrogato ieri per la seconda volta . Nel corso di due ore il comandante ha risposto sulla posizione della deriva, sul portellone aperto e su quando è scattato l'allarme dopo il peggioramento delle condizioni meteo. Sono stati ricostruiti anche i circa 32 minuti trascorsi da quando il veliero ha iniziato ad imbarcare acqua allo sparo del razzo avvenuto alle 4.38 come ha ricordato il procuratore di Termini Imerese Ambrogio Cartosio durante la conferenza stampa di sabato.

I dubbi degli esperti

Già ieri, 25 agosto, dopo il colloquio con i magistrati Cutfield aveva ricevuto l'invito a nominare un avvocato difensore. La convinzione degli esperti è che, anche in presenza di condizioni estreme meteo estreme, il Bayesian non sarebbe dovuto affondare. Il cerchio degli inquirenti si stringe quindi sulla possibile catena di errori umani che, insieme alla tromba d'aria - cosiddetto downburst - avrebbe fatto colare a picco il Bayesian.

Bayesian, s’indaga sull’equipaggio. «Perché si sono salvati tutti?». Il comandante dopo l'allarme disse di avere solo 12 persone in mare

Le vittime sono rimaste indietro, nel veliero, perché dormivano. nessuno le avrebbe allertate.

«Stiamo studiando e valutando chi ha responsabilità di quanto successo. Se il comandante, se l’intero equipaggio o i costruttori», il procuratore di Termini Imerese Ambrogio Cartosio, lo dice chiaramente in una conferenza stampa sull’inchiesta relativa alla tragedia del Bayesian , affondato nella notte tra il 18 e il 19 agosto a pochi metri dal porto di Porticello, che è costata la vita a sette persone su 22 a bordo. E sembra scontato che entro la prossima settimana i primi nomi finiscano sul registro degli indagati con l’ipotesi di naufragio e omicidio colposi. A rischiare sono James Cutfield , il capitano, (Nuova Zelanda), Tijs Koopmans , ufficiale capo, (Olanda), Tim Parker Eaton , ufficiale ingegnere (Regno Unito), rimasti in vita insieme ad altri sei membri dell’equipaggio. Gli unici che non hanno lasciato la Sicilia. Nessuno di loro, durante la concitata fase dei soccorsi, è stato sottoposto ad alcol test e a drug test. «Mi chiedo – si chiede però Cartosio – perché non sia stata vista la tempesta arrivare. Stiamo indagando anche sul perché l’equipaggio si sia salvato salendo sulla scialuppa mentre gli altri ospiti erano nello scafo». Ma per stabilire con certezza cosa sia accaduto sarà necessario il recupero dell’imbarcazione, che si trova a 49 metri di profondità: un’operazione da 15 milioni di euro che sarà in carico all’armatore. Non è ancora certo che il portellone fosse aperto né che il Bayesian avesse una scatola nera. A fianco del procuratore il pm che coordina le indagini, Raffaele Cammarano, e il comandante della Guardia costiera Raffaele Macauda raccontano la ricostruzione delle drammatiche fasi del naufragio.

IL NAUFRAGIO

Le vittime sono rimaste indietro, nel veliero, perché dormivano. Nessuno le avrebbe allertate. Macauda spiega che, sebbene non ci fosse un allarme burrasca (ma mare forza 5 e temporali isolati), «ci sono attrezzature in grado di valutare le condizioni meteo nelle loro evoluzioni. Era possibile ancorarsi in rada ma questo e altro è lasciato alle valutazioni del comandante». Poi aggiunge: «Subito dopo il lancio del razzo che ha fatto partire i soccorsi, il comandante ha detto di avere 12 persone in mare. In quel momento non ha parlato di altri passeggeri dentro l’imbarcazione». Con il Bayesian che già imbarcava acqua e inclinato verso il fondo marino da poppa, prima di adagiarsi su un lato, le vittime che dormivano e non sono riuscite a raggiungere il ponte e gettarsi in mare hanno cercato in tutti i modi di sopravvivere: in cinque erano nella stessa cabina del lato sinistro cercando bolle d’aria per respirare. Un’altra vittima, la 18enne Hanna Lynch, è stata trovata in un altro locale sempre del lato sinistro. La ricostruzione è stata fatta in base a quanto hanno visto i sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco e alle testimonianze dei sopravvissuti, quelli che finora sono dati di fatto sull’affondamento del veliero. Il racconto è drammatico e fa immaginare i minuti di terrore che le vittime hanno vissuto prima di morire passando dal sonno alla sveglia improvvisa col veliero «investito da un downburst», un fenomeno meteorologico con le forti raffiche di vento che escono dal temporale e possono raggiungere velocità anche superiori ai 100 chilometri orari, che ha fatto colare a picco la barca di lusso. «Si è trattato di un evento repentino e improvviso», ha detto Cammarano e ha aggiunto: «Potrebbe anche essere possibile che iscriveremo nel registro gli eventuali indagati prima del recupero del veliero».

IL RECUPERO

La società armatrice ha manifestato la volontà di recuperare il veliero – ha detto il comandante della Capitaneria di porto a Palermo, Raffaele Macauda – ma per farlo ci vuole un piano da presentare all’autorità marittima». E Cammarano aggiunge: «In questa prima fase – è stato detto – si era puntato sulla ricerca.
