The essence of design born from performance

The Privilège Signature 580 is beautiful; a magnificent, streamlined machine designed exclusively for performance, comfort, and safety. This impressive catamaran strategically implements innovative design in the pursuit of excellent navigation and pure pleasure. The 580 offers the benefit of a forward cockpit, an ideal relaxation area away from prying eyes, allowing direct access from the salon and master suite. In the saloon, the chart table is thoughtfully positioned at the front, facing the ocean. The galley can be installed up or down, and for crew, the crew cabin is a greatly welcomed feature.

Shaped to bring you harmony

Serenity is the central premise of this catamaran. The fluid and harmonious interior architecture reconciles different spaces, creating a seamless and enveloping atmosphere of tranquillity. Large glass superstructures allow natural light to flood the space, opening up expansive views of your voyage and promoting a rich sense of serenity and wellbeing.

Privilege Signature 580

58 foot privilege catamaran

We took a look at the Privilege Signature 580 at the Cannes Yachting Festival and were “wowed” by the finish. This is a luxury catamaran designed with impeccable taste.

This is a completely new design from Marc Lombard, building on the success of her predecessor: the 585, a luxury yacht that is famous for its seaworthiness and comfort. The new 580 has been designed to improve that record.

When you invest this much in a yacht, you have plenty of custom options available to you. The Privilège Signature 580 has an option for a forward lounge that is accessed via the salon and the owner’s suite. Or you can use the foredeck area for storage.

She is powered by shaft drives, rather than sail drives and has a raised, protected port helm connected to the cockpit and upper fly deck. All the lines come back to the helm, with single line reefing, main halyard, main sheet and genoa sheets led to two electric winches. The genoa is controlled with an electric furling system.

Living Space

Down below is a forward facing navigation station and a luxurious saloon connected to the aft cockpit on one level. There is an option ofr a galley up or galley down configuration.

Privilege 580 Signature

This new model is the first catamaran designed from scratch since Privilège Marine joined Hanse Yachts. The 510 Signature, launched a year ago, takes many elements from the former Series 5. This is a strong indicator of what the powerful German group wants: to respect the DNA of the Privilege brand founded by Philippe Jeantot back in 1985, while offering a contemporary vision of luxury sailing. We went along to Les Sables d’Olonne, the birthplace of the brand, to verify that the 580 Signature is indeed... a Privilège!

58 foot privilege catamaran

Gilles Wagner, CEO of the shipyard, came to welcome me in person; it was immediately clear that this launch was important and that strong choices had been very consciously made. Indeed, after 35 years during which the highlight of going aboard a new Privilège was always seeing the famous owner’s cabin housed in the central rostrum, the 580 Signature dares to free itself from this feature. Better than a revolution, it’s a totally different approach that was adopted from the start of the project. As with superyachts, the exterior design was a major factor in the initial choices. Already in charge of the interior design of the Privilège for several years, the Darnet Design agency was naturally entrusted with the exterior style of this new model. Although there are now various different participants, the naval architecture remains the domain of Marc Lombard’s firm - you don’t change a winning team! Customers clearly appreciate this new idea: seven units have been ordered even before the...

Privilege 585 catamaran.

The Privilege 585 offers a standard of living afloat, which rivals many an opulent apartment ashore. With an expansive bridge deck and roomy cabins, the Privilege 585 makes an ideal charter yacht, with some currently in charter around the world. Though not only suited to that purpose, this catamaran is equally at home as a bluewater, liveaboard cruiser. Able to complete a circumnavigation with ease, while cruising in complete luxury.

Table of Contents

DESIGN – INTERIOR & EXTERIOR

Since the creation of the boatyard in 1985, Privilege 585 builder Alliaura Marine was fundamental among the leaders in the high-end multihulls market. This builder is well known for building catamarans for cruising, where security and comfort matters as much as their sailing ability. With the help of renowned naval architect Marc Lombard, the Privilege series succeeded in establishing a bespoke family of yachts that meet the highest possible expectation. An innovative designer combined with outstanding craftsmanship resulted in the creation of this strong, comfortable, and powerful catamaran.

With only 24 of Privilege 585s produced from 2002 through to 2006, it holds a respected position in the catamaran market. As expected, all equipment aboard these luxury catamarans is of high quality, from the nav station to the chefs galley. The vast interior finished in beech timber provides a refreshingly light and welcoming space.

The large volume allows for an extensive inventory and would suit someone wishing to step aboard and go cruising. And with options from watermakers to huge cold storage, comprehensive navigation systems to a dishwasher, nothing more is required. On the deck, electric winches take care of all sailing loads, making her a breeze to handle. While down below, twin well-sized main engines and gensets along with solar provide all the speed and power you will need.

The helm on the port side is situated up high for excellent visibility while underway. An oversized double pilot chair lets you enjoy the sailing experience with others. The location of the helm is well thought out, allowing for direct communication with those on deck for safety. But also for convenience, being in close contact with others who are relaxing in the cockpit area and saloon.

The cockpit is spacious with plenty of room to move about while incorporating a Teak cockpit table on stainless steel supports, able to seat six. And with three comfortably cushioned large benches, there is ample space for lounging about.

Very large steps on the sugar scoops make for easy access and swim ladders allowing easy entry into and from the water. There is ample space on the large bottom transom platform to bring the catch of the day aboard or to store the watersports equipment in between sessions. Rinsing off can be done with the two deck showers, hot and cold, after a long day in the water.

With storage lockers underfloor, a rack for scuba-diving cylinders is situated in the aft locker and adequate space to store a diving compressor securely. Plenty of storage is available for the dive gear, kitesurfing and stand up paddleboards in this uncluttered and ample space.

Forward, there is a vast deck space with large sunbathing areas, two trampolines with pulpits, and four teak seats suitable for enjoying sundowners. The bimini is quite large, adequately providing protection, and also providing space for solar panels.

Through the oversized aluminum sliding door, three steps lead down into the spacious saloon. Large windows give exceptional panoramic views both for peace of mind and the simple pleasures of viewing your picturesque surroundings. The large saloon layout comprised of two leather sofas and a bar. A more than adequate navigation station is located behind the helm bulkhead on the port side, with access to electrical panels and instrumentation.

The round table with generously cushioned seats would make inside dining a very comfortable experience. An additional lounging area in L-shape with footrests and coffee table allows ample space for all guests. Suitable storage space is provided under the seats and behind the lounge, with further storage available in lockers below the floor. A bar is conveniently located up top in the bridge deck, making this area ideal for movie nights after sundowners.

The well-appointed galley is located down on the starboard side. With room for all the luxuries, you would expect in a yacht of this caliber, such as two working benchtops, a double stainless steel sink, mixed electric and steam oven, dishwasher, and microwave. As a walk through the galley, it’s well ventilated, enjoying lots of light, both through light fixtures and natural light through multiple hatches. The placement of the large hatch above the double sink allows for ample fresh air while preparing your freshly caught dinner.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Privilege 585 is available in both charter or owners versions, consisting of four double cabins and three single crew quarters or a five double cabin and one single layout. Sleeping 8 in total comfort, plus up to three crew, makes this catamaran ideal for larger families or groups of friends.

All cabins are well-lit and bright, finished in light Beech wood adding to the luxurious appeal. The king-size double cabins each have private heads for maximum comfort and privacy. Crew of WILD ROSE|Captain

Captain: Brad Wardle

Captain Brad Wardle fell in love with sailing when he was seven years old and started taking his first sailing lessons in Ventura, California. He bought his first boat when he was in his 20's and sailed it for 22 years up and down the West Coast from Canada to Mexico and all the way to Hawaii single-handed. A natural mechanic, Brad's has enjoyed a long career as an engineer working on ski lifts in the California ski resorts, and as an oil rig technician working on land and off shore. His work gave him time off between posts which Brad always spent on his boat, sailing. Brad has a STCW 95 certification and holds a Master's 100 ton License with a Sailing and Towing endorsement. First Mate/Chef Shana Story was born and raised in Michigan where she fell in love with boating on the Great Lakes. She has a BS in Education and worked as a health teacher before moving to Montana to become the kitchen manager at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch; owned by Arthur Blank owner of the Atlanta Falcons and Home Depot. Shana's natural hospitality skills and bubbly personality were the perfect match for the clientele of that exclusive resort, and she soon branched into private catering. Brad and Shana met each other in Angel Fire, New Mexico where Shana had taken the position as the chef/housekeeper on a private ranch and Brad was working on a nearby oil rig. Brad invited Shana to come sailing on his boat in California, and soon after, the idea to combine their talents and become sailing crew together was born. Shana and Brad traveled to Mystic, Connecticut to purchase a 40' Cheoy Lee and gave themselves 2 years to cruise the Caribbean. In those 2 years, they sailed their yacht "Quartette" from Connecticut to Florida, through the Bahamas and to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and finally to St, Thomas. They have spent the past 2 years exploring the US and British Virgins Islands with an eye to sharing that knowledge with guests. As the chef aboard, Shana prefers to prepare healthy cuisine featuring fresh, local ingredients and can tailor her menu to accommodate diets such as gluten free, Paleo and vegetarian. Shana holds an STCW 95 certification. Brad and Shana have 4 grown children between them and love to host families aboard Delphine. They believe that Dephine is ideally suited for family groups to enjoy a Caribbean sailing vacation that will be the most memorable time of their lives.

They believe that Dephine is ideally suited for family groups to enjoy a Caribbean sailing vacation that will be the most memorable time of their lives.";s:14:"yachtCrewPhoto";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew1Pic";s:77:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtimg/yacht7900/7900crew1.jpg";s:13:"yachtCrew2Pic";s:77:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtimg/yacht7900/7900crew2.jpg";s:13:"yachtCrew3Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew4Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew5Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew6Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew7Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew8Pic";s:0:"";s:13:"yachtCrew9Pic";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew10Pic";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew1Name";s:11:"Brad Wardle";s:14:"yachtCrew2Name";s:11:"Shana Story";s:14:"yachtCrew3Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew4Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew5Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew6Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew7Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew8Name";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtCrew9Name";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew10Name";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew1Title";s:7:"Captain";s:15:"yachtCrew2Title";s:15:"Chef/First Mate";s:15:"yachtCrew3Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew4Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew5Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew6Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew7Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew8Title";s:0:"";s:15:"yachtCrew9Title";s:0:"";s:16:"yachtCrew10Title";s:0:"";s:9:"yachtFlag";s:3:"USA";s:13:"yachtHomePort";s:4:"USVI";s:14:"yachtWBasePort";s:0:"";s:8:"yachtRig";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtGrossTons";s:0:"";s:12:"yachtAcNight";s:3:"Yes";s:16:"yachtAcSurCharge";s:2:"No";s:9:"yachtTubs";s:1:"0";s:20:"yachtLocationDetails";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtTerms";s:15:"Caribbean Terms";s:13:"yachtCaptOnly";s:3:"N/A";s:15:"yachtSpecialCon";s:0:"";s:14:"yachtContracts";s:0:"";s:21:"yachtConsumptionUnits";s:10:"US Gall/Hr";s:10:"yachtRange";s:0:"";s:11:"yachtPermit";s:1:"1";s:12:"yachtLicense";s:1:"1";s:8:"yachtMca";s:1:"0";s:16:"yachtDeepSeaFish";s:0:"";s:10:"yachtSatTv";s:2:"No";s:9:"yachtIpod";s:3:"Yes";s:10:"yachtVideo";s:0:"";s:17:"yachtSailInstruct";s:2:"No";s:13:"yachtInternet";s:12:"Onboard WIFI";s:16:"yachtCaptainOnly";s:3:"N/A";s:16:"yachtBrokerNotes";s:1395:"WILD ROSE is solely conducting USVI-only charters.
