European Yacht of the Year Award
SELECTION OF THE 2025 WINNERS At the European Yacht of the Year Award we feel that the first big win is to make the nomination. So here you have the 16 most interesting new sailboats of this model year according to the 12 strong j ury . Other than in previous years we haven’t grouped them into categories because there are more and more crossover concepts that make it hard to characterize a boat without having experienced it on the water. So this time we first do the sailing and then we assign boats to their respective class.
The contestants for the European Yacht of the Year Award 2025 are:
● BayCruiser 21 ● ClubSwan 43 ● Contest 63 CS ● Dufour 44 ● Hanse 360 ● Heyman 42 PPH ● J/40 ● Lagoon 43 ● Moody DS48 ● Nautitech 48 Open ● Seawind 1170 ● Sun Odyssey 350 ● Sunbeam 29.1 ● Tofinou 7.9 ● Vaan R5 ● Wauquiez 55
To be among the finalists is already a great achievement. But of course we don’t stop here. Next up are the seatrials which are mandatory for all the finalists. They take place in Kiel, German, in September and in Palma de Mallorca near mid October. After that the jury members do thorough debriefings, dive deep down into the specs and the data from the tests, they spend hour after hour debating before the verdict is reached in January.
The final announcement of this year’s winners will take place during the Flagship-Night on the first evening of boot Düsseldorf (18.-26.01.2025).
