Interior Styling and Accommodations

The center cockpit pilothouse design of the Farr 50 Pilothouse provides accommodations for up to eight among three private staterooms and two bunks as well as two heads and two stall showers.

The seascape views from the chart table and the large, tufted leather settee surrounding the salon table evoke a sense of openness and comfort in any anchorage and a dramatic view of the ocean when sailing allowing for standing watch from inside the salon if desired. The high-quality interior has high quality Mahogany joinery, Teak and Holly cabin custom curtains and OceanAir screens for the windows and overhead deck hatches keeping the interior comfortable in the tropics. There are plenty of opening ports and numerous hatches to provide natural ventilation.

GALLEY The galley is just to port of the companionway with two steps down. MASTER STATEROOM It’s hard to imagine a 50’ yacht that makes better utilization of the interior volume. The master stateroom is aft and accessed through the port passageway galley. The smart use of space incorporates a centerline walk-around queen-size berth with leather upholstered headboard and TV. To starboard, a tufted leather settee. To port, a very large hanging wardrobe and desk. Aft, a full-beam storage area with countertop surface and loads of storage within various lockers and cabinets. To starboard, is the ensuite head complete with a surprisingly large separate stall shower, freshwater VacuFlush toilet, and vanity with a single basin sink. Ventilation is provided by a large hatch with OceanAir screen, two dorade vents and opening portlights.

There are also two bunk berths in the forward passageway. The forward passageway door can be closed for guest privacy. There is abundant storage in both cabins.

The Farr 50 Pilothouse is large enough for a couple to live onboard in shoreside style and comfort with ample guest accommodation. When you go blue water cruising, you shouldn´t have to drop your living standards. Quality of life is very important and we believe yacht design should emulate shoreside lifestyle, whilst being practical, safe and comfortable for offshore use.

General - FARR 50 PILOTHOUSE

GRP sailing yacht Farr 50 pilothouse, "Lotte", built in 2002 by B.S.I. in Sweden, designed by Bruce Farr, dim.: 15.38 m (lwl 12.95 m) x 4.70 m x 2.30 m, headway approx 23,75 meter, GRP white hull, displacement approx. 17,000 kg, fin keel, two extra low's expoxy beneath the water line, teak deck and teak in cockpit, cockpit 15 cm extended, the roof of the pilot house has been shortened on the rear end, fuel capacity approx. 600 litres and an additional 300 liter dieseltank, water capacity approx. 780 litres, holding tank approx. 420 litres, water and fuel tank meters. So many designs compromise their suitability for offshore cruising by using all the available space for accommodation. Not so with the Farr 50. She has large storage lockers in the bow and stern providing large amounts of space accessible from the deck only. So you do not need to go through the living accommodation with dinghies, sails and the multitude of gear that, in other yachts, are trailed through the saloon and stowed in the forecabin. For security and safety the forward sail locker is totally watertight and separate from the forward cabin. Unquestionably, the defining feature of any of the Farr 50's is the pilothouse which provides panoramic views whilst seated or standing throughout the saloon. This provides the perfect combination of cosy "living-room" comfort with airy spaciousness. As well as featuring an interior steering position and a comprehensive navigation area, the saloon´s seating areas will easily accommodate your guests by keeping the accommodation close to the centre of the yacht, the motion at sea is minimised.

Accommodation
