Boat of the Week: This Newly Renovated 345-Foot Gigayacht Has a Pool That Turns Into a Dance Floor

Twenty-two years after its delivery, the oceanco h3 returned to its original shipyard to get a 33-foot hull stretch, updated profile, and brand-new interior. we step on board., julia zaltzman, julia zaltzman's most recent stories.

The first thing that catches the eye is a large waterfall at the stern, spilling over from the 23-foot-long main-deck infinity pool. It’s a theatrical nod to the yacht’s exterior transformation, which saw 26 feet added to the steel hull at the stern and seven feet to the forward deck line. The extra length accommodates the owner’s request for a large pool aft that is designed with a raising dance floor. It also gives the vessel, originally launched in 2000 as  Al Mirqab , a sleeker, more modern profile. The next owner, F1’s Force India boss and now fugitive Vijay Mallya, renamed it Indian Empress . He was known for throwing extravagant parties aboard.

The 345-foot Oceanco 'H2' is emerging after a three-year refit as a brand-new yacht.

“The yacht was very boxy before, so we cut the entire superstructure off and rebuilt it to be as sleek as possible,” Jonathan Bevan, Reymond Langton’s exterior designer, tells Robb Report . Bevan also designed H3 ’s two “mini-me” Compass tenders—a 36-foot limousine and 34-foot open sportboat—that look like the mothership.

The owner’s deck and upper-deck aft areas—once used to host large parties for the opening night of the Monaco Grand Prix—have both been reduced in length. Coupled with a new enclosed gym on the sun deck, it gives the profile a more balanced look.

Bevan also eschewed straight lines in favor of contoured bulwarks that run the length of the yacht. “We’ve added a rolling-wave undercut that reflects the surface of the sea below and gives a sense of motion when the boat is moving,” he says.

Another noteworthy feature is the 33-foot-long video corridor. It links the welcome lounge and bar with the main salon, as well as concealing the tender bays on either side. On our tour, a floor-to-ceiling aquarium was displayed, but it can be used for all types of media, from videos to artwork. In the welcome lounge, an LED screen or “tech window” is linked to a camera pointing outside to give guests the choice between a virtual view or normal TV.

The interior has been taken back to the bare skin and designed anew. “A refit of this scale has not been done before. We wanted to create something dramatic and unrecognizable that can be enjoyed by family as well as for entertaining,” Reymond Langton’s interior designer, Elizabeth Kozlova, tells Robb Report .

Custom art runs throughout the yacht, including leather wall panels by Helen Amy Murray, woven metal by Sophie Mallebranche and decorative glass by Bernard Pictet. A palette of ivory and taupe tones combines with fiddleback sycamore, light oak, soft nubucks, and Foglizzo leathers that contrast with bronze and nickel detailing. The en suites and day heads are dressed in light marbles, such as Calacatta Vagli, Crema Delicato, and backlit quartz.

In the main foyer, a round Bianco Lasa marble floor frames a glass elevator that runs from the main deck to the bridge deck. The dedicated owner’s deck has a full-beam stateroom with walk-in wardrobes and an en suite. A private beauty salon and a study can be used as two additional guest cabins. The owner’s lounge has sofas, casual dining for 14, three Lasvit glass chandeliers, and two backlit infinity mirrors on the same level.

The yacht’s gross tonnage increased from 3,045GT to 3,521GT during the rebuild, which gave the designers more room to play with in an already high-volume vessel. They responded with high ceilings, more accommodation to sleep the 32 crew, and a full-beam VIP that serves as a second master, with private use of the bridge deck aft. Six guest cabins on the main deck bring total guest accommodations up to 20. On the lower deck is a destination spa with a hammam and sensory shower, a hair salon, and massage and beauty rooms.

Powered by triple, military-spec MTU 20V 1163 TB93 diesel engines for a massive 30,000 combined horsepower, H3 hit 30 knots during sea trials. That’s an impressive top end for a yacht this size, but then again, everything else about the new H3 is extraordinary.

H3 WINS BEST REBUILT YACHT AT WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS

superyacht h3

Oceanco is proud to announce that H3 took home the prestigious award for Best Rebuilt at the World Superyacht Awards Gala in Venice, Italy. Organized by Boat International Media, nearly 600 guests, including superyacht owners, designers, and builders witnessed the highest possible honors ceremony.

UNPRECENDENTED IN ITS SCALE AND NATURE

H3’s transformation at Oceanco is practically unprecedented in its scale and nature. The goal of her rebuild was to take a very high-tech yacht from 20 years ago and make her IMO Tier III compliant, in line with any yacht that is built today in terms of technology, safety, capability and sustainability.

Although the majority of the yacht’s original hull remains, practically every other element onboard – both technical and aesthetic – has been completely transformed and modernized, and her length overall now measures 105m. H3 displays a modern exterior look, including a completely new superstructure, with both exterior and interior design provided by Reymond Langton Design.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAVINGS

At a time when the industry is increasingly mindful of the impact that newly built yachts have on the planet, it is valuable to highlight that bringing an existing vessel’s environmental profile up to date with contemporary standards can have as much, if not more, of a positive impact.

New data from Oceanco’s Research & Development team shows that thanks to her Tier III compliant set-up, particularly the highly powerful greenhouse gas nitrous oxide of H3 has been drastically reduced. As a result, H3’s operational footprint has been reduced by at least 60%. When using an alternative fuel, such as HVO, the operational footprint reduces further due to lower CO2 emissions to almost 90% compared to before her rebuild.

Furthermore, figures suggest that by going with a rebuild rather than new build superyacht of this scale, carbon emissions related to the steel and aluminum production for  H3  were reduced by 50% – approximately 2,000 tons of carbon – equivalent to 10 hectares of forest planted per year for 20 years (assuming a service life of 20 years).

“We are very proud of what has been achieved through the rebuild of H3, especially with our new data showing just how impactful this ground-breaking project has been. It is always rewarding to receive recognition from the World Superyacht Awards and, with this particularly unique rebuild, I think it is fair to say that we are especially honored,” says Marcel Onkenhout, Oceanco’s CEO.

superyacht h3

Motor Yacht

H3 is one of the most significant recent deliveries in The Netherlands; originally launched as INDIAN EMPRESS in 2000, this extraordinary superyacht underwent a total rebuild in 2023, 're-birthed' as H3. With 10 metres added to her overall length, and a complete transformation of her interiors, exteriors and amenities, this iconic 105m vessel stands as a testament to the unparalleled expertise of Oceanco, representing the ways in which the Dutch yard are able to make the impossible, possible.

H3 was launched by Oceanco in 2023, with the Dutch yard overseeing her build and Naval Architecture, and Reymond Langton Design in charge of both her exteriors and interiors. She is powered by twin 3,862 MTU engines, able to reach a top speed of 18 knots with a range of 6,000nm at 14 knots. H3 is also compliant with IMO Tier III regulations, meeting modern standards of sustainability.

She can accommodate up to 20 guests across 10 spacious cabins, configured as an Owner's suite, a VIP suite, five doubles and three twins. Her interior is characterised by a soft and light colour palette, fused with geometric patterns and earthy tones, creating a comfortable and welcoming ambience on board.

The amenities onboard H3 are unparalleled; she features spacious exteriors to serve every need on board, with her deck spaces including everything from a dedicated bar and concealable pool to a huge C Seed TV and a touch and go helipad. A standout innovative element of her design is an interactive video wall that creates a passage between her main deck welcome lounge and main salon, highlighting how H3 incorporates the latest technological trends.

Those on board can indulge in the ultimate relaxation experience, making the most of her plethora of sunbathing spaces, a hair and beauty salon and a hammam, whilst the more active can enjoy her gym and extensive tender and toy selection.

Monaco Yacht Show 2024: The Biggest, Boldest and Most Expensive Superyachts To See

Even in its 33rd year, Monaco Yacht Show continues to break its own milestones.

By Ellys Woodhouse and Toby Louch

superyacht h3

The principality of Monaco has a calendar that’s filled with major events. While the financial benefits of this little tax haven ensure its population remains fairly well stocked with super-rich and socialites year-round, it’s these events that truly bring the masses. April calls for the tennis at The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters; in May it’s time for the Formula One Grand Prix ; June brings the world-famous car show Top Marques ; and summer draws to a close with perhaps the most glam of the bunch, the Monaco Yacht Show, which this year falls on September 25 – 28.

For those interested in gazing upon some of the finest yachts that can be found anywhere in the world, Monaco ’s Port Hercules is a pretty good spot year-round, but for the weekend of the Monaco Yacht Show, things enter a different league.

The Monaco Yacht Show is essentially a gathering of the global superyacht community. From owners to innovators, manufacturers and brokers, all head to the principality. Each year, builders and brokers present around 120 superyachts and 60 luxury tenders , with many of these reflecting current industry trends and revealing the potential future direction of the industry. These vessels boast an average length of around 160 ft, with a sprinkling of superyachts that top the 320 ft mark – with this year’s headliner clocking in at 400 ft.

Aside from the yachts themselves, visitors can expect countless designers improving yacht interiors and engineers working to ensure the industry becomes more sustainable. There’s sure to be a lot going on.

So ahead of this year’s event, Elite Traveler has looked into which yachts will be on display at Port Hercules and curated a list of some of the show’s unmissable vessels. So blow the dust off your Panama hat and add a few zeros to your credit card limit, because these are some of the biggest, boldest and most expensive boats attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

The undisputed biggest headline of this year’s show – in every sense of the word – Lürssen’s Kismet will be the largest yacht to go on display in Port Hercules. While the previous title holder was another from Lürssen, the 377.6-ft Ahpo, the Kismet takes its victory by a considerable mile, clocking in at 400 ft. Previously known as Project Jag, the Kisamet was handed over to owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, making it one of the show’s newest deliveries, too.

With exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts along with Reymond Langton Design working on the yacht’s interiors , Kismet is decked out with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym. Perhaps unsurprising, but all this makes Kisamet one of the most expensive yachts to charter , too, asking for €3m (approx. $3.4m) per week with Cecil Wright & Partners.

Delivered in 2019 by SilverYachts and refitted in 2024, the almost 280-ft, self-described ‘sports activity vessel’ Bold takes center stage at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Designers Espen Øino created the superyacht’s striking, military-inspired exterior, creating a unique glass-enclosed loft on the upper deck that covers over 3,200 sq-ft of interior space. Meanwhile, Vain Interiors has created an opulent, New York-style loft, which is built to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in eight luxurious staterooms and can carry up to 96 passengers while cruising.

With a a huge selection of water toys, a vast outdoor entertaining area with a bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit, it’s no surprise that the Bold is a popular charter yacht, with Holl Robinson asking €875,000 ($972, 800) per week.

superyacht h3

Following an extensive, three-year rebuild, the most expensive superyacht on the market has returned to Port Hercules for 2024, complete with a new look – and price tag, too, asking for €295m ($328m). The 344.5-ft Oceanco H3 superyacht has already picked up a handful of international awards for the new look and is expected to impress many fans at Monaco Yacht Show 2024.

In addition to the extra 10 meters that were added to the H3 ’s hull, the rebuild – from the likes of Reymond Langton Design, which worked on both the exterior and interior redesign, and the collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco on its naval architecture – also saw a pool deck, huge spa and wellness area and climate-controlled winter garden added to H3 ’s numerous amenities.

With its distinctive, shark-like exterior design, the 295-ft superyacht DAR will be hard not to miss at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Built by Oceanco with exteriors designed by Luiz de Basto Design, the glossy black silhouette was inspired by the look of the hammerhead shark, with sinuous lines, wide set wing stations and a mast modeled after a dorsal fin.

Meanwhile, renowned Italy-based studio Nuvolari & Lenard has crafted swooping, contemporary interiors. DAR’s impressive features include a complete owner’s deck, complete with a private salon and jacuzzi, a wellness area, an impressive beach club, and two helipads for private use. Offering grandeur and complete privacy in equal doses, DAR can accommodate up to 14 guests in overnight accommodation, with separate living quarters to host as many as 31 crew members.

Despite only hitting the waters in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , is set to make its global debut at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Measuring almost 110 ft, Galma ’s naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi. With a design that offers the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the performance of a racing boat, Galma is characterized by the 22.6-ft telescopic keel and an all-carbon hull that has been painted in light metallic blue.

Other highlights of Galma include an 860-sq-ft full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. Galma can accommodate up to eight guests overnight, with five crew members.

The 400-foot-long Kismet embarks on her maiden voyage in the Med

When it comes to exclusive enclaves, it’s pretty hard to compete with Monaco. The world’s elite flock to the tiny principality on the French Rivera for its sunny weather, sophisticated hotels and casinos, spectacular shopping and other financial reasons. They love to drive their fast cars down the famous roads leading into the city, and they love the speed and power of the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, too.

Monaco Yacht Show 20224

But as for the absolute pinnacle of luxury, it doesn’t get much better than owning a superyacht. And for the select few who happen to be shopping for a superyacht, there’s one place to see nearly all of the best, and biggest, and most technologically advanced yachts that money can buy (in addition to the tenders, and limousines, and private submarines, and luxury cars that go along with a superyacht) in one place: The Monaco Yacht Show , which starts next week.

Renaissance is massive

During the show, the docks of Monaco’s famous port are always filled with numerous yachts longer than 250 feet. But this year, the largest superyacht in the show is 400 feet long! And lots of superyachts in the 300-foot-long range will be there, too.

Hackers Force Chrome Users To Hand Over Google Passwords. Here’s How

Apple’s update decision—bad news confirmed for millions of iphone users, today’s eclipse of the full moon sets up a ‘ring of fire’ — what to know.

So, if you are lucky enough to be in Monaco later this month, I’ll see you there. But if you not, here’s a sneak peek at the five largest yachts that will be on display.

Kismet underway

What can I say about the 400-foot-long Kismet (which was built by Lürssen , features an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and an interior design by Reymond Langton Design and is available for charter with Cecil Wright ) that can help you understand just how big a 400-foot-long superyacht is? How about, since it measures 40 feet longer than an American football field (including the end zones), it’s safe to say that Kismet would only just barely fit inside the Jacksonville Jaguars EverBank Stadium. And that’s only if it could somehow be lowered from the top with a crane!

Kismet departs Lurssen shipyard in Germany

But since these photos and that explanation can’t really convey just how big Shaid Kahn ’s (the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars) new 400-foot-long superyacht is...The only way you’ll really be able to understand just how big the Jacksonville Jaguars owner’s new yacht is to see it for yourself in Monaco next week. It’s going to be largest yacht at the show and has raised the bar on what’s possible when it comes to designing, building, owning and chartering the largest yachts in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week

And since Kismet has already spent her first season in the Mediterranean and is available for charter through Cecil Wright (instead of being hidden away for a private owner like many yachts in this size range are), you, too, could experience what it’s like to live the superyacht life aboard one of the largest and most opulent vessels in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week is massive

So, if you looking for a charter yacht that costs roughly $3 million per week, the Monaco Yacht Show will be the place where you can see just how opulent Kismet (and theses other superyachts too) for yourself.

‘Renaissance’

The Bannenberg & Rowell-designed Renaissance that can accommodate 36 guests in 16 cabins is unlike ... [+] most other superyachts that are available to charter

The 367-foot-long, 7,200-gross ton, Bannenberg & Rowell -designed Renaissance is um, a “really big superyacht.” But what intrigues me the most is that unlike most superyachts that can only accommodate 12 guests per charter, Renaissance has been designed to swaddle 36 guests in superyacht luxury.

Renaissance underway

As you’d imagine, this yacht has it all. Open-air dining on five decks and a dining room with 18-foot-tall ceilings on the main deck. A sushi bar. A pizza oven by the huge pool. And of course, the requisite DJ stations when it’s time to party. There’s also a massive cinema that has seating 19 guests on lower deck—the perfect place to just Netflix-n-chill.

The 18-foot ceilings aboard RENAISSANCE BANNENBERG + ROWELL DESIGN

And, oh yeah, the spa features hot and cold plunge pools, steam room and sauna, two treatment rooms and a full beauty salon. Contact Burgess for more info.

The all-new exterior lines of Oceanco H3

I’ve seen lots of superyacht designs come to life thanks to the hard work, dedication, perseverance and love that the large fraternity of superyacht designers, builders, artists and countless others pour into every spectacular new yacht that gets launched.

The rebuilt Oceanco H3 got a "rockstar" relaunch.

But I must admit, after seeing the 344-foot-long Oceanco -built (and rebuilt) H3 (first launched in 2000) emerge after an intensive 3-year-rebuild, I’m at a loss for words. I’m in awe, actually. Because after spending time at Oceanco with the project team and the owner's representative , I understand why this project is way more than just a refit.

It’s been transformed into a brand-new yacht with every modern comfort, but also retains its…soul.

The accommodations onboard the 334-foot-long H3 are spectacular

The sustainability impact of this project is also pretty awe-inspiring to me, too. According to Oceanco’s team of engineers, simply using an existing hull instead of building an brand-new one resulted in a 50% reduction of carbon emissions for the build. And since H3 has been repowered with smaller yet much more efficient engines (and her top speed has been reduced slightly), the yacht burns much less fuel than she previously did as well. Delivery time was reduced by 25% as well, and hopefully we see more projects take this approach in the future.

The video wall in the welcome area of the Ocean co H3 is innovative as well as attention grabbing.

Oceanco’s CEO Marcel Onkenhout adds, “To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement. The project has called for passion, dedication and extraordinary craftsmanship, with many involved in her creation now contributing to her recreation, including myself.” Contact Edmiston for more info.

Silver Yachts' BOLD is sure to get attention at this years Monaco Yacht Show

The 278-foot-long BOLD is the largest and most aggressive superyacht the Australian-based Silveryachts has ever built. Working in collaboration with yacht designer Espen Øino BOLD brings a whole new look to the explorer yacht category.

There helideck aboard BOLD is...bold!

Amels Full Custom ENERGY will be at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show

The 255-foot-long Amels full-custom yacht ENERGY was created by exterior designer Espen Øino and interior designer Francois Zuretti to provide unapparelled luxury and access to the water.

The top deck’s helipad forward is a versatile space outside heliops—sun lounge, al fresco yoga studio with wraparound ocean views, a space for elevated entertainment served by the statement bar...assorted lounging areas and dayhead inside. The jacuzzi and sun pads aft allow guests to bask in the sun.

The bridge deck music lounge is designed for acoustic excellence. There is a Steinway baby grand piano and marble-topped bar. The entertainment continues in the open-air lounge aft, guests can find some privacy on the sofa forward of the bridge or keep going on the walkaround sidedecks to appreciate the anchorage from every possible vantage point.

Full-height windows in the the owner’s deck bedroom provide direct access to a private foredeck terrace, a hot tub and a mesmerizing marble fire pit. Contact Burgess for more info.

Motor yacht H3 (ex NEOM, INDIAN EMPRESS, Al Mirqab) is a majestic 105.0m (344'6") superyacht built by the prestigious shipyard Oceanco and completely rebuilt in 2023. Originally launched in 2000, her naval architecture and exterior styling were completed by The A Group, while Mark Berryman completed her interior styling. The accommodation provides a maximum of 32 guests with 16 cabins, including VIP staterooms, double cabins and twin cabins. She has a highly-skilled and professional crew of 42.

NOTABLE FEATURES OF H3: ~ Elevator ~ Fully-equipped gym~ Stabilisers ~ Massage room ~ Sauna ~ Beauty salon ~ Piano ~ 17 cabins ~ Crew of 33 ~ Various dining areas ~ WiFi ~ Air-conditioning

Guests boarding by tender will arrive at the swim platform and reach the main deck aft via the joint staircases. Here, the expansive deck are can be used to store two tenders and there is room in the centre for a comfortable alfresco lounge.

On the next level, the owner's deck contains two sun-exposed seating areas facing out over the stern. In the shade of the bridge deck overhang, a grand alfresco dining table fits seamlessly with the pale teak deck and the fresh robin's blue egg of the outdoor lounges situated on the port and starboard sides.

Since the refit, the bridge deck no longer has a helipad, and the space has instead been turned into an outdoor entertaining area, with two tenders discreetly tucked out of the way.

While the centre of the aft deck has been left clear for dancing, there is a wide forward bar and plenty of seating placed around the stern and sides: Two curved sofas each surround a coffee table with a large sun umbrella in the centre to provide shade. The sun-exposed seating on the port and starboard sides each have a large low table ideal for resting drinks and lanterns for an ambient night under the stars.

Above, the sundeck allows guests a place to soak in the sunshine in tranquil surroundings and the layout has sun loungers and a foredeck lounge for outdoor dining enjoying sweeping views.

The guest accommodation is spread across the lower deck and the main deck forward and consists of one VIP stateroom, seven double cabins, and seven twin cabins. Behind the guest cabins, there is a stately formal dining room where guests can celebrate a special occasion. Opposite, there is a guest lounge for quiet relaxation after a hearty meal.

Within the centre of the main deck is the conference room, which can also be used to host lavish meals on special dockside occasions. A waiting room and office further aft connect through to the magnificent main salon where pristine modern surroundings with art deco detailing create the hub for your indoor soiree. Rich yellow-varnished wood and gold accents create a warm environment against blue-grey furnishings and guests and visitors have plenty of seating to choose from, including an entertainment area where the sofas and armchairs are directed at the high-definition TV.

One of the incredible items aboard M/Y H3 is Elton John's grand piano, which occupies pride of place beside the fully-stocked bar. The owner's deck can be shared with other guests or used exclusively by the occupants of the Master suite, while the two double cabins and two twin cabins could be used by close family members. The forward deck features a full-beam Master suite complete with a walk-in wardrobe, en-suite bathroom, and widescreen high-definition television. The tremendous amount of space within this apartment contains two beautiful contemporary sofas placed on the port and starboard sides and a forward lounge consisting of two semi-circle sofas around a coffee table, which receive plenty of natural light from the multitude of windows. Here, guests can choose to take in the views from indoors or go outside onto the private terrace fitted with an outdoor settee.

The gym, sauna, steam room and spa are also located on the owner's deck beside the state-of-the-art cinema which can seat all guests in comfortable air-conditioned surroundings. The final room is the sky lounge, which offers a more intimate and less formal environment than the main salon and gives guests celebrating out on the large bridge deck aft a cool retreat. The fully-equipped sky lounge bar is nestled near the windows, and the mirror-like ceiling amplifies the sunlight from the windows during the evening hours.

The largest yachts to have ever attended the Monaco Yacht Show

The Monaco Yacht Show is the most highly anticipated event of the Mediterranean season. But this year has generated even more excitement than usual, with a series of impressive milestones reached. The biggest superyacht in the show's history – the 122-metre Kismet – will be in attendance, alongside the largest number of 100-metre-plus yachts overall with the arrival of the 111.9-metre Renaissance and 105.3-metre H3 .

To honour this record-breaking edition, BOAT looks back at the Monaco Yacht Show's largest attendees...

Which show?

This year's Monaco Yacht Show will be a record-breaker with Lürssen 's mighty Kismet in attendance. An immense volume of 4,918GT houses a mosaic-line pool with a 40-tonne capacity, two spa pools, a certified helipad, fireplaces inside and out, a full-service spa, a lift and a gym. To say nothing of her intricate paint and marble detailing or the stainless-steel jaguar bow figure. It's no wonder Pascale Reymond, co-founder of Reymond Langton studio, has billed her a "cathedral of design".

Kismet also represents a first for the German shipyard with her underwater lounge and cinema, featuring extra-large windows (1.1 metres by 2.8 metres) that dip under the waterline. She follows a 95.2-metre World Superyacht Awards winner, now known as Whisper .

Another Lürssen, Ahpo was named after a term of endearment meaning grandmother. And her design certainly centres around the family, including two identical bedrooms with different colour schemes, designed for the original owner's twin girls. Wellness is another major focus, with a nature-themed spa, massage room, beauty salon and private owner's gym outfitted in red-lacquer furniture and custom dumbbells.

Other highlights include a mosaic bathroom modelled after the work of Gustav Klimt, a 12-seat cinema and an aft deck winter garden. There are quarters for up to 53 crew, including two helicopter pilots.

Renaissance

Renaissance was built by Spanish yard Freire and created by the legendary Jon Bannenberg , though for 40 years the design never left the drawing board. The owners turned to his son at Bannenberg & Rowell Design when it came time to build it and provided a long list of non-negotiables, including a large gym, high ceilings, lots of places to eat and a very large beach club. The brief was certainly fulfilled with a double-height formal dining room, a sushi bar and a deck entirely dedicated to wellness, including the aforementioned gym, a sauna, a ballet bar and a dedicated hair and beauty salon.

Accommodation is across 19 cabins, including an owner's deck with a 60-square-metre suite, a media room and a lounge with bar and dining. A private terrace with sunloungers and a Jacuzzi for six can be found forward.

Alaiya (then Tis ) was styled inside and out by British studio  Winch Design  and was commissioned by a long-time (read: seven year) charter client of Moran Yacht & Ship . The superyacht houses two helicopter pads, a 12-metre swimming pool, a private owner's deck and a "resort-inspired" spa across her 4,699GT interiors. Her tender garage can also accommodate two 13-metre tenders and a variety of water toys.

Accommodation is for 18 guests across nine cabins, with further quarters for 38 crew. Alaiya was sold following her appearance at the show and then underwent an extensive, seven-month refit with Blohm & Voss .

Kaos (then Jubilee ) is one of the most recognisable yachts on the water with a long, lean, metallic blue exterior by Igor Lobanov . The Oceanco looks surprisingly lithe for her immense size, attributed to the clever troupe l'oil effect design that gives the appearance of additional decks and so conceals her actual height. Interior details have been kept largely under wraps but at the time of her delivery, it was said that Kaos had the most marble and stone outfitted within the interior than any other superyacht.

The yacht is also known for her swimming pool, positioned on the largest of the four decks and peering into an aquarium in the beach club below. She was one of the most travelled superyachts of 2023 thanks to a mammoth transatlantic passage that began in St Barths for the New Year's celebrations and ended in the River Thames, London.

A Benetti creation, IJE is the flagship of the Italian shipyard's fleet and a full-custom project to boot. British studio RWD is responsible for the exterior and interior design, which is meant to capture "the soul of an explorer" in a polished superyacht package.

As a result, IJE was kitted out with three large tenders, eight Jet Skis, comfortable guest and crew cabins for long stints in remote areas, as well as an owner's deck, a nightclub, a cinema, a gym and a beach club. She is also reportedly equipped with the largest single-point lift crane installed on a yacht. The superyacht edges out previous flagships Luminosity and Lana by only a few centimetres.

Amadea took just 31 months to complete from the first steel cutting, which was quite the feat for a vessel of her size. Exterior design is by Espen Øino International , while interiors were styled by Francois Zuretti . Her highlights include a 4D cinema with popcorn machine, a hand-painted Pleyel piano and a spa pool and sunpad set up that can convert into a live stage with built-in speakers, stage lights and laser beams. The owner’s cabin also has a private terrace complete with a mosaic-lined pool.

The superyacht was arrested in May 2022 after her UBO (ultimate beneficiary owner) was allegedly sanctioned following the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

She may not have the (literal) edge over Kismet this year, but H3 is a record-breaker in her own right as the current world's most expensive yacht for sale . The superyacht is asking an eye-watering €295,000,000 with Edmiston and earns the bill, outfitted with a piano previously owned by Elton John – the one on which he wrote the album Songs from the West Coast – a large pool with a waterfall feature, a huge spa and wellness area with a nail salon and a climate-controlled winter garden in the owner's suite.

Her three-year rebuild, beginning in 2020, won her international acclaim and a World Superyacht Award . Virtually nothing was left from her previous life as Indian Empress except the hull, which had also been extended a further 10 metres. BOAT International was provided an exclusive look inside her rebuild last year.
