Yacht Rental Philippines
As we dive into the journey of life, we find ourselves drawn to experiences that remove us from our routine, immersing us in a world of serenity and splendour. One such experience awaits us in the waters of the Philippines, where the oceans teem with biodiversity and the horizons stretch infinitely, painting a panorama of untamed natural beauty. To glide on these waters, amidst this splendour, is a call few can resist. But why should one rent a yacht in the Philippines?
The Call of the Aquatic Wilderness
The Philippine archipelago, with its collection of over 7,000 islands, presents a nautical paradise. One that beckons to be explored and savoured. Renting a yacht provides the opportunity to witness, firsthand, a biotic universe that thrives beneath the waters' surface. Corals of whimsical shapes, anemones swaying in sync with the rhythmic ebb and flow, and marine life of hues that put to shame even the grandest artist's palette - all these and more await the intrepid sailor.
To be in control of your route, to sail at your own pace and time, charting a path through the turquoise waters and the emerald isles, it's an unfiltered experience of being one with nature, a privilege that a yacht rental grants.
Discovering the Pearl of the Orient Seas: A Yacht Tour of the Philippines
Sailing across the Philippine archipelago, with the wind as your guide and the waves as your path, is a voyage like no other. This water-bound journey allows one to explore, in depth and detail, the fascinating facets of the islands' geography, culture, and biodiversity. Here, I shall delve into specific locations that could make your yachting expedition an experience to remember.
🚢 El Nido, Palawan
First on our course, we set sail to El Nido in Palawan. Blessed with towering limestone cliffs, lagoons of turquoise tranquillity, and an array of biodiversity, El Nido is a must-visit locale on your yacht adventure. Anchor your vessel and plunge into the underwater wonderland that hosts vibrant coral reefs, populated by a variety of fish species, sea turtles, and even the elusive dugong.
🚢 Coron, Palawan
Next, we navigate to Coron. Known for its sunken Japanese warships from World War II, Coron offers a unique opportunity for wreck diving. The remnants of the vessels, now colonised by an array of marine life, serve as a poignant reminder of the past, silently narrating stories of a time long gone, amidst the undersea tranquillity.
Our course then leads us to Boracay, an island renowned for its powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters. By day, the island presents a range of aquatic activities such as snorkelling, paddleboarding, and parasailing. As twilight descends, the island transforms into a vibrant nightlife hub, with fire dancers illuminating the shores and music filling the tropical air.
We then hoist our sails towards Siargao, the surfing capital of the Philippines. With swells that attract surfers worldwide, it promises a thrilling ride for those who dare to ride the waves. However, beyond its surf, Siargao has much to offer - from the natural pools of Magpupungko to the labyrinthine mangrove reserve of Del Carmen, every corner of this island is a testament to nature's splendour.
🚢 Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park
Our voyage continues with Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park. Nestled in the heart of the Sulu Sea, this UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts a pristine coral atoll teeming with marine life. From the diminutive clownfish darting amidst anemones to the graceful manta rays and the awe-inspiring whale sharks, Tubbataha is a living tapestry of biodiversity.
The island province of Cebu is next on our chart. Known for its historical significance - being the first Spanish settlement in the country - Cebu blends cultural heritage with natural beauty. The province's coastline, dotted with white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and colourful reefs, is perfect for exploration from your yacht. Dive into the waters around Malapascua Island, known as one of the few places in the world where you can regularly spot the elusive thresher shark.
Not far from Cebu, we find Bohol, famous for its Chocolate Hills and the tarsier, one of the smallest primates on Earth. The serene waters around Panglao Island offer world-class diving spots with a vibrant array of marine life. And when you crave a break from the sea, the Loboc River Cruise presents a charming diversion.
Navigating north, we find Batanes, the smallest and northernmost province in the Philippines. Encountering the strong winds and waves of the open sea, Batanes is a testament to the resilience of nature and the local Ivatan people. The undulating hills, dramatic cliffs, and stone houses of Batanes offer a unique charm, a stark contrast to the tropical feel of the rest of the archipelago.
🚢 Bucas Grande, Surigao del Norte
Next, we steer our course to Bucas Grande in Surigao del Norte. Known for its Sohoton Cove, a maze of islets and lagoons, the area offers a unique experience of paddling through narrow passageways to access hidden lagoons. You might even encounter the stingless jellyfish that inhabit some of these lagoons, a phenomenon that adds a magical touch to your exploration.
🚢 Puerto Galera
Finally, Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro deserves a mention. Known as the 'Port of Galleons', Puerto Galera offers beautiful beaches, stunning waterfalls, and rich history. Its diving spots, including the famous Coral Garden, teem with marine life.
Sailing through the Philippines, you'll find that each island holds its charm and allure. From the sun-dappled beaches of Boracay to the submerged historical relics of Coron, the thriving reefs of Tubbataha to the pristine lagoons of El Nido, the archipelago is a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be explored, savoured, and cherished. And there's no better way to embark on this adventure than aboard a yacht, your vessel of discovery in these wondrous waters.
Charting Your Nautical Adventure: Considerations Before Renting a Yacht
Before you charter your vessel, there are several factors to consider, much like a bird that gathers twigs and leaves before constructing its nest.
⛵ Know Your Route
The Philippines, with its expansive oceanic expanse, can pose a dilemma akin to a hummingbird facing a field of flowers, all ripe for pollination. Knowing your desired route, the islands you wish to visit, the aquatic flora and fauna you want to observe, can greatly assist in determining the size and type of yacht you may need.
⛵ Weather Watch
The tropical climate of the Philippines, while inviting, also necessitates careful planning around monsoon seasons. Understanding the regional weather patterns ensures a safe and enjoyable journey, unhindered by the erratic dance of the tempests.
⛵ Vessel Viability
Understanding the various types of yachts available for rent, from the compact and swift sports yachts to the grandeur of superyachts, is pivotal. Each yacht class offers unique features - some have advanced navigational and safety equipment, others excel in comfort and luxury. Your choice will depend on your priorities, be it exploration, comfort, or a blend of both.
Your Ideal Aquatic Steed: The Best Yacht for Philippines Waters
The Sailing Yacht emerges as the optimum choice for Philippine waters. Unlike its motorised counterparts, a Sailing Yacht, much like the Albatross soaring on oceanic thermals, is largely reliant on wind power. This aligns perfectly with the Philippines' prevailing trade winds, allowing for an eco-friendly and serene sojourn.
The Sailing Yacht, despite being powered by the winds, does not compromise on luxury. Equipped with modern amenities and ample space, it offers the perfect balance of opulence and adventure. Moreover, the slow, rhythmic pace of a Sailing Yacht grants time to savour the beauty that unravels with every nautical mile traversed.
On your voyage, you'll find the rhythm of the waves, the song of the wind, and the distant call of tropical birds weaving a symphony that connects you to the pulse of the natural world. Yacht rental in the Philippines, thus, is more than just a means to navigate the waters. It is a pathway to unravel a maritime story penned by nature herself, where every chapter holds the promise of new discoveries and experiences, enriching the tapestry of our existence.
Navigating Your Queries: Frequently Asked Questions
As we chart our course through the waters of information, it is natural for questions to emerge, like seagulls surfacing on the horizon. We now take this opportunity to address these frequent inquiries, providing a beacon of knowledge amidst the sea of curiosity. In keeping with our journey thus far, we strive to maintain the same level of detail and inquisitiveness, as we weave our way through these shared wonderings.
When is the best time to rent a yacht in the Philippines?
The Philippines, with its tropical climate, offers warm weather year-round. However, the ideal time for yachting is between December and June, when the seas are calmest. Do bear in mind that July to November, the rainy season, can bring unpredictable weather, and typhoons are not uncommon.
Do I need any specific qualifications to rent a yacht?
While qualifications aren't mandatory for every rental agency, having a boating license or an equivalent certification can broaden your options. Some agencies offer skippered charters, where a crew is provided, while others may require proof of sailing competence for bareboat charters.
How much does it cost to rent a yacht in the Philippines?
The cost varies depending on the type of yacht, the duration of the rental, and the season. Typically, you can expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars per day for a small yacht to several thousand for a luxury yacht.
What are the safety regulations when renting a yacht?
Each yacht rental agency should provide safety briefings and guidelines, including the use of lifejackets, handling of equipment, and emergency procedures. Remember, safety comes first. Always comply with these regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.
What amenities are usually included in a yacht?
Yachts are often equipped with sleeping cabins, bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living area. Luxury yachts may also include amenities such as air conditioning, WiFi, entertainment systems, and hot tubs. However, amenities can vary widely from one yacht to another, so it's always best to check what's included before booking.
We hope these responses have helped to illuminate your path, providing answers to the questions that may have been fluttering in your minds. Yet, as we well know, with every answer comes a new question, and so our journey continues, always driven by curiosity and a yearning to know more.

Alan was very prompt to reply when I inquired about a quote and he was also openly communicative after I booked his catamaran and services. He was right on time to pick us up exactly where he said he would. He is very personable and easy to converse with and he has interesting stories! He’s very experienced, professional and also gives space for his guests to enjoy privacy. The catamaran was clean and perfect. Alan is also a wonderful cook and we loved the food. We definitely recommend booking with Alan!
One of the best activity you can do while staying at El Nido. Alan took us to lonely beaches, prepared lunch and took care of everything. Highly recommended.
Was well beyond my expectations Gerald the guide was a wealth of knowledge, professional and made sure that the day was completely catered to what, when and how we wanted to do things met us at our hotel and helped us navigate the markets and negotiated price and made sure we went to good suppliers, Ricky the cook and the deck hand made sure we where always looked after and turned what we bought into some of the best food I’ve had in the Philippines, and Mark the captain did a fantastic job getting us around to some of the most incredible spots I’ve ever dived. The three of them together made for an unforgettable day and it was so so much more than I could have expected and hoped for. Would recommend to anyone in a heart beat and if I ever get the chance to do it again I would recommend this boat with these three running it in a heartbeat !!
We had such a great time with Momoe’s crew they took us to some beautiful spots and cooked us a delicious lunch. A highlight was getting to go to the wet market and buy all the fish and fruit and veg we wanted for lunch and then having it cooked by the crew over coals!
We traveled using Momoe' boat in a group of 6. Our group included 3 senior citizens and one person in their 30s who had mobility issues due to a prior stroke. The crew were accommodating to all. We were picked up from our hotel according to schedule. From there we were taken to the market to buy fresh ingredients for our lunch. We at the market, we discussed our trip with our guide, Gerald, to choose which locations would be best for our group. The sights are amazing and traveling privately helped avoid the major crowds and lines at the port. The crew are amazing cooks. The lunch was cooked and prepared on the boat and better than most restaurants. We recommend Momoe T. to anyone travelling to Coron.
Alan and Maria were a great team to show us El Nido and the lovely islands surrounding. The bays are prestine and the beaches gorgeous. More importantly, very excluded from crowds and tourists. This gave the experience an dimension of paradise to Robin and myself. We snorkeled, used the dingy every now and then, trew the rope behind the boat to carry us through the ocean and slept on deck in the trampolines. The shooting stars and small satellites were incredible to see them so clear. Thanks again Alan and Maria. Hopefully we see each other again someday and somewhere! Cheers, Robin and Robin
