THESE TERMS ALSO CONTAIN A LEGALLY BINDING RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. By creating a username, a login, clicking submit, using the services of Charter Experts, LLC d/b/a Virgin Island Sailing® (“ Broker ) or by accessing Broker’s website, you agree that you have read, and acknowledge your acceptance of these Terms. The Terms are subject to change at any time without notice at Broker’s sole discretion. Additionally, any transaction for which you have made payment shall be governed by the form of Terms in effect at the time of such payment notwithstanding any subsequent changes hereto.

If you are obtaining a quote, information, booking travel for and/or securing or procuring a Charter (as that term is defined in Section 1 below) for more than just yourself, all references below to “Charterer” or “you” (and derivations thereof) shall be read to mean you on behalf of yourself and each individual within your group for whom you are obtaining a quote, information, booking travel for and/or securing or procuring Charter.

These Terms shall be read together and construed, to the fullest extent possible, to be in concert with any other agreement by or among Broker and Charterer. To the extent they cannot be so construed, then in the event of any direct conflict between these Terms and any other agreement by or among Broker and Charterer (including but not limited to the agreement executed by Charterer for a Charter Reservation (as that term is defined in Section 1 below), these Terms shall prevail.

  • Prepaid Charter Reservations . Typically, Broker negotiates charter rates in advance with the yacht owner or charter company (“ Charter Provider ”) to obtain cost-effective rates, and facilitate reservations and availability for yacht charters, excursions and travel (the “ Charter ”). Broker also provides services to you by facilitating the booking of reservations for consideration and receives a commission from the Charter Provider (the “ Broker Fee ”). The Broker Fee is included in the pre-negotiated Charter rate provided to you, plus taxes and other fees where applicable. You agree that your payment is for the total amount set forth in the applicable Charter agreement (which Charter Provider may refer to as a Charter Contract, Charter Agreement, Booking Terms & Conditions, Instructions and Terms for Accommodations, as well as other derivations) provided to you by Broker (“ Charter Agreement ”). Upon execution of the Charter Agreement and receipt of the applicable deposit, you will have made a reservation for the Charter that authorizes Broker to facilitate the Charter on your behalf (“Charter Reservation”), including making payment arrangements with the Charter Provider. You further agree that Broker is a third-party beneficiary to the Charter Agreement and shall have the right to enforce such agreement to the extent it deems such enforcement necessary or advisable to protect its rights hereunder or under the Charter Agreement.

Broker retains the Broker Fee as compensation in arranging your Charter Reservation. The Broker Fee varies based on the amount and type of Charter and/or services provided by Broker.  By making a Charter Reservation, you accept and agree to the relevant cancellation and no-show policy of the Charter Provider set forth in the Charter Agreement. Cancellation and no-show policies vary for each Charter. Carefully read the Charter Agreement and additional information provided to you by Broker. It is expressly agreed by Charterer that the Broker Fee is earned at the time the Charter Reservation is made. Late payment, wrong credit card or debit card details, invalid credit or debit cards, or insufficient funds are for your own risk and account, and you will not be entitled to any refund of any prepaid amount unless the Charter Provider expressly agrees otherwise under the Charter Agreement or in some other signed writing.

  • Charter Rules and Restrictions . Additional terms and agreements will apply to your Charter Reservation and any purchase or rental of equipment or other items, supplies, provisions and travel you may select. Please read those additional terms carefully. In particular, if you have purchased airfare, please ensure that you read the full terms and conditions of carriage issued by the supplier. You agree to abide by the terms of purchase imposed by any supplier with whom you elect to deal, including but not limited to payment of all amounts when due and compliance with the supplier’s rules and restrictions regarding availability, charges, fares, and use of products and services.
  • Payment . All payments must be made by personal check, bank/wire transfer, ACH payment and/or with a major credit card unless otherwise expressly stated. The total price for the Charter Reservation will be billed in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise stated. Some banks and credit card companies impose fees for international transactions. If you are making a reservation from outside of the United States on a US credit card, your bank may convert the payment amount to your local currency and charge you a conversion fee. This means the amount listed on your credit or bank card statement may be in your local currency and therefore a different figure than the amount provided by Broker for the Charter Reservation. In addition, a foreign transaction fee may be assessed if the financial institution that issued your credit card is located outside of the United States. Booking international travel may be considered to be an international transaction by the financial institution or card company. The currency exchange rate and foreign transaction fee is determined solely by your financial institution on the day that it processes the transaction. If you have any questions about these fees or the exchange rate applied to your booking, please contact your financial institution. Broker shall not be liable to you for any such service, conversion, or exchange fee.

Broker expressly reserves the right to cancel your Charter Reservation if full payment is not timely received as set forth in the Charter Agreement.

  • Cancellation and Rescheduling . You may cancel or change your Charter Reservation as set forth in the Charter Agreement by and among you, the Charter Provider and/or Broker. Please note that some Charter Providers do not permit changes to or cancellation of reservations after they are made, or after a certain date, as indicated in the Charter Agreement. You agree to abide by the terms of the Charter Agreement with respect to your Charter Reservation. Broker will not be responsible for reimbursing Charterer for any previously tendered deposits or payments by Charterer and disclaims all liability for the failure of a Charter Provider to refund or return any such funds.
  • Credit Card Transactions and Chargebacks . If for any reason, any Charter Provider is unable to provide the Charter, or any part thereof, for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against the Charter Provider, and not against Broker. However, Broker will use reasonable efforts to assist you and Charter Provider in reaching a resolution to a dispute between you and the Charter Provider. In the event that your payment has already been transferred from Broker to Charter Provider or to an escrow account, you agree that you will not seek a chargeback against Broker for such amounts transferred. You further agree to indemnify and hold Broker harmless from and against any liability, loss, damage or expense (including without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) that Broker may incur in connection with chargebacks against Broker or under the Charter Agreement and your performance thereunder. If Broker incurs any costs, including but not limited to attorneys’ fees, to recover any payments charged back by your credit card company or other financial institution, you agree that you will be liable for these costs. If your payment is declined for any reason, you agree to settle any amounts owed to Broker via money order, cashier’s check, personal check or bank/ACH transfer immediately.
  • Broker Responsibility . Broker makes arrangements with the Charter Provider. Broker additionally makes additional arrangements with other suppliers for the various components and other services that comprise your Charter (“Charter Suppliers”). Broker is not an agent of these Charter Providers or the Charter Suppliers (and the Charter Providers and Charter Suppliers are not agents of Broker). Broker expressly disclaims any liability for the actions or omissions of the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers. The Charter Providers and the Charter Suppliers reserve the right to refuse service to you at their sole discretion. Broker assumes no liability for the acts of the Charter Provider or the Charter Suppliers in refusing service. Broker is not responsible for schedule changes and does not offer compensation for those changes. Broker is not responsible under any circumstances for any injury or damages you may suffer, in connection with sea, air or ground transportation, hotel accommodations, or other travel or excursion services arranged by Broker.

You understand Broker is not the source or supplier of the Charter or other travel services you requested and acts solely as a broker for the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers. You agree that the Charter Provider and Charter Suppliers whose names appear in the information supplied to you are those who are solely responsible for providing the Charter you purchase. You consent to and request the use of the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers and agree to not hold Broker responsible should any of them: (i) fail to provide the Charter or travel services you purchased, whether or not such services are listed in the Charter Agreement or otherwise, (ii) fail to comply with any applicable law, or (iii) engage in any negligent act or omission that causes you any sort of injury, damage, delay or inconvenience.

By using Broker’s services, you waive and release any claim against Broker, its affiliated and subsidiary companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents, arising out of or in connection with any loss of or damage to property or injury to any person caused by reason of (i) any defect, negligence, or other wrongful act or omission, or any failure of performance of any kind, by any Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, or any other provider of sea, airline, hotel, ground transportation or any other travel provider connected to or otherwise associated with the Charter, (ii) any claim for inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, mental distress or other similar claim, (iii) any delayed departure, missed connection, substitute accommodation, termination of service or change in fares or rates, and (iv) overbooking, flight or other travel cancellation, lost or misconnected personal property, or any claim arising out of the air transportation portion of your travel, and (v) or any other claim arising out of or otherwise related to the Charter Agreement or services provided by the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers.

Excepting only liability that directly arises from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Broker, you will not hold Broker responsible for any injury, damage or loss you may suffer while on a Charter, whether incurred on the Charter or in connection with any other rental, purchase, excursion or activity, regardless of the relationship of any of the foregoing with the Charter Provider or the Charter Suppliers.

  • Your Responsibility . By booking a Charter with Broker, you agree to defend and indemnify and hold harmless Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, causes of action, demands, recoveries, losses, damages, fines, penalties or other costs or expenses of any kind or nature, including but not limited to reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in connection with: (i) your breach of these Terms or the documents referenced herein; (ii) your violation of any law or rights of a third party; or (iii) your use of the Broker website.

You will review your Charter Agreement and travel documents for accuracy upon receipt. You understand that it is your responsibility to review the accuracy of all details in the Charter Reservation provided to you, and that you may contact Broker if you have any questions.

You assume full and complete responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of your destination(s), and all conditions regarding health, safety, security, political stability, and labor or civil unrest at such destination(s).

You understand that Broker recommends purchasing travel insurance to cover certain risks inherent in travel such as supplier bankruptcy and the inability to travel due to a medical or personal emergency.

  • No Warranties . All Charters, products, services, advice and information is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied to the fullest extent permitted under the law, including but not limited to, warranties of title or implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose. Without limiting the above, no warranty or guarantee is made (i) regarding the acceptance of any reservation request or Charter Reservation; (ii) regarding the availability of Charters, or any other product and/or services through Broker; (iii) that the use of Broker’s website will be error-free; or (iv) regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability or quality of any information, content, data, service, advice or merchandise provided by Broker or through Broker’s website.

Broker has no special knowledge regarding the Charter Provider’s or Charter Supplier’s financial condition, unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel during or otherwise in connection with your Charter.

  • Limitation on Liability . In no event shall Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, and/or their respective affiliates, or any employees, agents, officers, directors, members or managers of any of the foregoing (“Broker and Charter Releasees”), be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of, or in any way connected with, your access to, display of or use the Broker’s website, the Charter or services provided to you in connection with the Charter (including, but not limited to, your reliance upon opinions of the Broker), whether based on a theory of negligence, contract, tort, strict liability, consumer protection statutes, or otherwise, and even if Broker and/or any other of the Broker and Charter Releasees have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

If, despite the limitation above, Broker or the Broker and Charter Releasees are found liable for any loss or damage which arises out of or in any way connected with any of the occurrences described above, then Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Supplier and the Broker and Charter Releasees will in no event exceed, in the aggregate, the greater of (a) the Broker Fee, and (b) One-Hundred Dollars (US $100.00).

The foregoing limitation of liability reflects the allocation of risk between the parties. The limitations specified in this section will survive and apply even if any limited remedy specified in these Terms is found to have failed of its essential purpose. The limitations of liability provided in these Terms inure to the benefit of Broker and/or its providers.

The foregoing does not affect any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  • Limitation on Time to File Claims . ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM YOU MAY HAVE ARISING OUT OF RELATING TO BROKER’S SERVICES OR THE WEBSITE MUST BE COMMENCED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES, OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
  • Waiver . No waiver by Broker of any term or condition set forth in these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition, and any failure of the Broker to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Severability . If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of the Terms will continue in full force and effect.
  • Governing Law and Mandatory Venue . The laws of the State of Florida govern the rights and obligations of the parties to this Agreement and the interpretation, construction and enforceability thereof. You agree that any action or proceeding initiated by Charterer against Broker shall be brought solely in the federal and state courts of Hillsborough County, Florida, and you submit to the jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objections to the exercise of personal jurisdiction over you by those courts. In the event any action or proceeding is initiated by Charterer in a court outside of Hillsborough County, Florida, Charterer agrees to pay Broker’s costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees associated with defending such action or proceeding and waives any and all defenses to the transfer of said action or proceeding, whether jurisdictional or otherwise, to a federal or state court in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Best Yacht Clubs in the British Virgin Islands & US Virgin Islands

I’ve never been much of a yacht person.

That’s mostly because I didn’t grow up in proximity to the ocean or other yacht-appropriate bodies of water. It wasn’t until I moved to the Mediterranean that I got a crash course in yachting.

If you’re new to yachting like I was, let me catch you up.

Yachts and boats are differentiated mostly by size and purpose. A boat is just about any type of vessel that floats—for utility, for business, for racing, and more. A yacht is distinct in that they’re at least 40 feet in length and tend to be more luxuriously designed and appointed.

That’s the key here—yachts are for pleasure.

Most of these flashy vessels are docked at yacht clubs.

What’s a yacht club?

What’s a yacht club, you might ask? Like any type of club, these groups bring together hobbyists and professionals who adore yachting (and even sailing). Most yacht clubs set up shop near or on marinas where members dock their boats.

Some also offer membership benefits like mooring discounts, training sessions, sailing programs, and even social events. The very best might even include fine dining restaurants, clubhouses, pools, fitness centers, and lounges, similar to a social club .

But the focus is on yachting as a passion—which means some of the world’s best yachting clubs are located in tropical paradises where boats abound.

What’s coming to mind for you? I’m already imagining the Caribbean .

Specifically, I have the British Virgin Islands in mind. This cluster of islands is renowned globally for its yachting and boating culture. Even the US Virgin Islands offer a few top-tier yacht clubs.

Want to know the best part? Yacht clubs are usually open to the general public, especially those who are on private charters. While yacht clubs are heavily geared toward those who own a vessel or are chartering one, some might even let people visit their restaurants.

If you’re interested in exploring the world of yacht clubs, make sure to check out these locations. They’re some of the most highly rated yacht clubs in the Caribbean.

Best yacht clubs in the British Virgin Islands

Bitter end yacht club.

Virgin Gorda

What makes Bitter End Yacht Club a top pick for BVI travelers?

Aside from its over-the-water rooms and emphasis on eco-friendly materials, this club has been a top choice for years thanks to its location. Virgin Gorda is renowned as one of the most beautiful islands in the British Virgin Islands.

On top of that, the Bitter End is placed right smack in the middle of the British Virgin Islands’ best sailing conditions. Year-round sunshine and ideal wind conditions mean that those who stay here can take advantage of boating adventures all day, every day.

The cherry on top is its family-owned and open-minded nature. Many guests report returning year after year thanks to the homely and casual vibe.

Ocean’s 7 Yacht Club

Peter Island

Ocean’s 7 Yacht Club is a popular stop for guests on private charters along with those mooring their own vessels. The staff manning the yacht club are prepared to help yachters dock their boat, then start enjoying nearby activities—from snorkeling to sipping on a cocktail.

The restaurant is also highly rated. The fresh seafood has been highly rated, along with the view over the ocean. Just keep in mind that this is a sleepy little outpost, similar to the Bitter End Yacht Club.

The Moorings Yacht Club

The Moorings is one the premier yacht chartering groups in the British Virgin Islands—no need to bring your own vessel.

The Moorings is also a global brand, meaning you can expect plenty of experience and expertise when you book a charter or another experience. The focus here is on customization. From their base in Road Town, Tortola, the Moorings team can help you craft a personalized yacht charter.

Most are focused on exploring the 50-odd islands dotting the British Virgin Islands. Some charters also include docking portions to allow visitors to sample the best restaurants and cocktail bars around the islands.

Best yacht club in the US Virgin Islands

St thomas yacht club.

Racing is the name of the game at the St Thomas Yacht Club. Whether or not you plan on competing—or even mooring—at this club, it’s a great spot to watch live regattas. The yacht club also offers lessons, including youth sailing lessons, advanced seafaring courses, and community events.

Community seems to be a pretty strong focus here. The yacht club regularly hosts events like Friday night pickleball and afternoon drinks in the galley. Plus, it’s open to newcomers, offering programs like the Learn to Sail Vacation Week.

This Resort Has the First Overwater Bungalows in the British Virgin Islands

The overwater bungalow life, without a flight to the Maldives.

yacht club in bvi

Bitter End Yacht Club, a nautical-themed resort in the British Virgin Islands, reopened in 2021 after complete destruction by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Following a four-year closure and ground-up rebuild, the newly reimagined Bitter End Yacht Club will welcome guests back to the 64-acre island outpost located on Virgin Gorda. What's more, the property is now outfitted with all-new Marina Lofts, which will be the only overwater bungalows in the British Virgin Islands.

Originally founded in 1969, the family-friendly resort is only accessible by boat which has made it a popular attraction for sailors and yacht enthusiasts for more than 50 years. The sprawling seaside resort is named after its secluded location at the intersection of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, otherwise known as the "end of the line."

"The village is an incarnation of Bitter End's roots as a yachting destination and sailor's hangout. Its beach, seawall, and plaza are dotted with seating areas designed for settling down with a cold drink and conversation, a favorite book, or simply taking in the beautiful expanse of North Sound," said owner Lauren Hokin.

Guests can check in at the main plaza, known as the Quarterdeck Marina, which is a two-story, open-air venue with an ocean-facing lounge upstairs and a wraparound terrace. The newly renovated waterfront plaza also includes the Clubhouse restaurant, water sports center, and Reeftique Boutique. Sailors will also find 70 mooring balls and 25 marina slips available for yacht charters and non-hotel guests looking to dock their boat and rest their sea legs at The Bitter End Village.

Two of the Marina Lofts are complete and available for guest bookings with up to 10 more bungalows scheduled for build in the near future. Inspired by vintage sail lofts, the timber bungalows feature a daybed on the first-floor lounge and second-floor master suite with a king-sized bed and bath amenities. The indoor-outdoor space offers a private terrace on both floors with panoramic views of North Sound as well as a hammock for lazy days in the sun.

Bitter End Yacht Club offers five dining options to choose from, including a casual pizza-and-wine concept at the Clubhouse Restaurant and a sunken vessel salvaged from Hurricane Irma that's become a one-of-a-kind beach bar. There is a small garden on property, Bitter End Farms, that will supply fruits, vegetables, and herbs for the restaurants in addition to partnering with local fisherman and farmers to highlight Caribbean flavors.

For grab-and-go prepared food, fresh-caught seafood, and snacks, the Bitter End Market will have local provisions in stock for long voyages at sea, including the chef's world-famous key lime pie. Water sports enthusiasts will also appreciate the new fleet of water toys which include stand-up paddleboards, kiteboards, and sailboats paired with group and private instruction for anyone looking to improve their skills on the water.

With its gentle trade winds, cobalt blue waters, and near-perfect weather year-round, the British Virgin Islands have had a long-standing reputation for being a sailor's paradise. The return of Bitter End Yacht Club and its "built by sailors for sailors" legacy is an exciting development for yachters looking to spend a day ashore and travelers keen on the overwater bungalow life without the long-haul flight.

Rebuilding Paradise: The Bitter End Yacht Club’s Inspiring Comeback

By: Shannon Sinnard Destinations

Nestled at the northeastern tip of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, the Bitter End Yacht Club has long been a premier maritime destination for sailors. For years, this iconic resort has drawn seafarers from around the globe, offering a serene escape amidst the sparkling waters of the Caribbean.

While the term “bitter end” often refers to the final part of a rope or chain, the phrase can also signify reaching the farthest point or the end destination of a long or difficult journey. The founders of the Bitter End Yacht Club chose this name to reflect both its geographical location and the spirit of adventure and perseverance inherent to sailors. For those who navigate to this end-of-the-line point, the BEYC stands as a haven where their journey culminates in beauty and tranquility. And, for many, it has long stood as a cherished traditional stop when exploring the waters of the BVI.

A Legendary Past, a Devastating Blow

In more recent years, the Bitter End’s name has embodied not only a physical destination but also a symbolic one. The iconic BEYC experienced a devastating blow in September 2017 when Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in history, wreaked havoc on the Caribbean, leaving the Bitter End Yacht Club in ruins. The devastation was profound, with buildings flattened, boats destroyed, and the once-thriving resort reduced to rubble.

While many Bitter End enthusiasts were devastated to hear of the destruction Hurricane Irma left in her wake, the iconic Bitter End Yacht Club kept its loyal fans updated via its website , detailing both the damage and community efforts to rebuild this beloved BVI institution.

Rising from the Ashes

Having now been rebuilt and risen from the devastation of Hurricane Irma, the Bitter End’s name resonates even more with the idea of enduring and overcoming challenges – much like the sailors who venture to the farthest reaches to get there.

After the storm, the Bitter End Yacht Club faced a long and arduous journey to recovery. But the spirit of resilience and determination among its community never wavered. Fast forward to today, and the Bitter End Yacht Club has not only been rebuilt but has been reimagined, standing as a testament to the power of recovery and the adventurous spirit that made it famous.

A New Era for the Bitter End Yacht Club

The reopening of the Bitter End Yacht Club marks a new chapter in its storied history. The rebuilt resort seamlessly blends the charm and character of its past with modern amenities and environmentally friendly practices. Here’s a glimpse of what visitors can now expect:

State-of-the-Art Marina

The heart of the Bitter End experience, the marina, has been meticulously restored and upgraded, offering deep-water slips that can accommodate yachts up to 200 feet, along with enhanced dockside services. Sailors can enjoy top-notch amenities including electrical hook-ups, fuel, ice, showers, rubbish disposal, and laundry facilities. Additionally, guests have access to the resort’s swimming pool. The BEYC also boasts one of the best deep-water anchorages in the Caribbean, providing many of the same amenities as the docking facilities.

Culinary Delights

Dining at the Bitter End is an experience in itself. The resort’s restaurants feature locally sourced ingredients, celebrating Caribbean flavors with a gourmet twist. Whether it’s a casual beachside meal or an elegant dinner under the stars, the culinary offerings are sure to delight every palate.

Adventure and Exploration

For those with a thirst for adventure, the resort offers a wide range of water sports, including sailing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, and snorkeling. Guests can explore the vibrant coral reefs, embark on a deep-sea fishing expedition, or simply enjoy a leisurely paddle around the bay.

Environmental Stewardship

The Bitter End Yacht Club has embraced sustainability as a core principle in its rebuilding efforts. The resort utilizes renewable energy sources, practices water conservation, and is committed to preserving the natural beauty of the BVI. Initiatives such as coral reef restoration and marine conservation programs are integral to its operations, ensuring that the Bitter End remains a pristine paradise for future generations.

A Bright Future

From its storied past to its recent resurgence, the Bitter End Yacht Club is more than just a return to business; it’s a celebration of resilience, community, and the indomitable spirit of the BVI. As it welcomes back old friends and new, the Bitter End promises to once again be the ultimate retreat for those who seek the thrill of the open sea and the tranquility of an island paradise in one of the most breathtaking locations on earth.

The Clubhouse and Dining Room are open for lunch and dinner, and visiting yachtsmen, yachtswomen, and members of correspondent yacht clubs are welcome. The Royal BVI Yacht Club maintains an active calendar of racing, cruising, angling, and social events, as well as sailing training programmes for young and old alike. The Club is the primary sponsor of the annual BVI Spring Regatta, featuring three days of racing in the Sir Francis Drake Channel for racing classes, non-spinnaker classes, multihulls, and bareboats. The Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club was granted the Royal Warrant by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in her New Year's Honours List of December, 1999. Beautiful, peaceful and perfect are just a few adjectives previous guests used to describe the Bitter End Yacht Club. Located on the northern edge of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands , this resort caters to travelers looking for a vacation that's equal parts relaxing and fun. Guests have their choice of Reef Rooms, Horizon Rooms, Garden Rooms or the Owner's Compound, which can accommodate up to six guests. Reef Rooms are the closest to the beach and offer sea views; Horizon Rooms look like treehouses and are positioned along the upper boardwalk, providing more expansive views of the water and surrounding islands; and Garden Rooms are surrounded by verdant plants and trees. No matter which accommodation type you choose, you'll find all rooms come equipped with coffee makers, teak furniture, Wi-Fi access and wraparound verandas. Chances are you won't be spending a ton of time in your room, though. Bitter End Yacht Club provides a plethora of activities and water sports equipment. The resort has a daily activity schedule, which includes things like snorkeling tours, yoga classes, windsurfing lessons and excursions to top BVI sights like the Baths . When you get hungry, there are three on-site restaurants where you can sample everything from Caribbean cuisine and fresh seafood to casual bites like pizza and sandwiches. Note: The resort was impacted by the 2017 hurricanes and is expected to reopen again soon.

What Does All-Inclusive Yacht Charter Mean?

To understand the prices listed in this article, it is important first to understand what an All-Inclusive Yacht Charter BVI means. –In yacht charters, two main contract types are used: CYBA ( Caribbean Yacht Brokers Association ) and MYBA ( Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association ). CYBA contracts, common in the Caribbean (all catamarans and some motor yachts), are all-inclusive except for gratuities and are in the industry referred to as “Caribbean terms.” MYBA contracts, used globally, are “plus expenses,” meaning fuel, food, and dockage are extra and handled through Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA).

What is Included in an All-Inclusive Yacht Charter?

Unless specified under the Special Conditions , the total all-inclusive charter fee includes:

  • Hiring of the yacht
  • Services of a fully licensed crew
  • Standard ship’s bar Fuel
  • Cruising taxes and permits
  • Clearance taxes
  • Mooring fees
  • All expenses related to running the yacht
  • Use of on-board leisure and sports equipment

What is Not Included in an All-Inclusive Yacht Charter?

  • Crew gratuities
  • Premium beverages (fine wines & excessive alcohol requests)
  • Scuba diving
  • Off-yacht excursions
  • Dockage requested by the charterer
  • Fishing licenses
  • Communications
  • Airport transfers and other similar expenses

Note: The prices listed in this article are all-inclusive yacht charter prices , whereas prices listed on the individual yacht pages are +Expenses rates and have an APA ( Advance Provisioning Allowance ) charge added on top, usually set at around 35% of the base charter fee.

“Yachting on a Beer Budget”

This 88-foot Nordlund Motor Yacht with accommodation for 6 guests is really great value for money and has excellent client feedback ! Honestly, there aren’t many luxury yachts of this size and standard at this all-inclusive price! Prime Time is, therefore, also a very popular boat fully booked out every year; it is, therefore, important to reserve her in good time.

Prime Time is owned and skippered by American ex-navy Captain Joe Standish , who has lived and chartered in the BVI since 1999. Joe runs one of the oldest charter businesses in the BVI ; needless to say, his local knowledge and experience are second to none.

The second crew member onboard Prime Time, Michael, has worked many years on cruise ships and local cargoes and was on the water when Hurricane Irma hit the Caribbean—here is a good story to be told.

The crew wants people to be comfortable and act like they would at home: “We are very laid back. Our company motto has always been ‘Come as Guests…Leave as Friends…’ That still holds true while running Prime Time, but we have added a new one for the niche we plan on filling in this industry, ‘Yachting on a Beer Budget.’ With that mentality, we also want our guests to ’embrace the local culture,’ which is why we only do breakfast and lunches onboard. We believe that a yacht charter here in the BVI is so much more than just being on a beautiful boat for 7 days. Your Crew wants you to enjoy the things that ‘we do,’ whether that be local BBQ or fish fry, drinks on the beach, or just chilling on your own private beach. We will make your time with us a memorable one.”

Guest Feedback

“Another fantastic trip! Captain Joe and Mike are so friendly, full of knowledge, and a great time! We wouldn’t travel on another boat in the BVI. Great food and drinks, and lots of laughs! Capt. Joe took us to all the spots on our list and a few more. If you have ever wanted to charter a boat to see the Islands, Prime Time is the only way to do it! Already looking to book again for next year.”

“One of the Most Reviewed Yachts – All 5-Star!”

If you’re looking for luxury and comfort with a personal touch, Suite Life is a fantastic option. This 92-foot yacht feels like a floating luxury resort, with plenty of space to relax, entertain, and explore. Even though the yacht was built in 1998, it’s been completely refitted and is meticulously maintained by the owner-operators, so it still feels fresh and modern.

The layout is super spacious, with four staterooms that can comfortably accommodate up to nine guests. The master suite is especially impressive, with its king bed, walk-in closet, and even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Each room is decked out with smart TVs, Bluetooth stereos, and 24/7 air conditioning, making it easy to unwind in total comfort.

The crew of 4 goes above and beyond to make sure your vacation is perfect; their great service is reflected in the many positive reviews they receive from their guests , showing you the best spots in the Virgin Islands and catering to your every need.

On deck, you’ll find plenty of spots to soak in the sun, from the upper deck lounges to the oversized bow sun pad. Plus, there’s a fresh or saltwater pool up front and an expansive swim platform for easy access to snorkeling and water fun.

Overall, Suite Life delivers on its name, offering a top-tier experience with a cozy, personal feel. Perfect for anyone looking to live the suite life, if only for a while.

Can’t say enough about Suite Life Yachting! We had such a great experience on their beautiful boat with the best crew! Captain Roy, Chef Nick and Nate took such great care of us and we had everything we could possibly need or want and then some! Amazing food, delicious drinks, snorkel lessons, hike guides, you name it they delivered! The boat is gorgeous, super clean and so well maintained. Would HIGHLY recommend this charter!!”

“Get More Space with this Brand-New Luxury Power Catamaran”

Although not technically a motor yacht, I wanted to showcase a power catamaran to demonstrate what you can expect in terms of space and amenities— comparable to a motor yacht that’s 15-20% larger . Blessed compares to a motor yacht approximately 92 to 96 feet in length.

So why choose Blessed among the many power catamarans in the Caribbean? Blessed is a brand-new, 80-foot Sunreef catamaran built in 2024 at the Sunreef factory in Gdansk. The design and construction were overseen by Tim Miller and Julie Brown, who also run the yacht as Captain and Chef, so they really know the yacht inside out!

Blessed is 80 feet long and can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 cabins –4 masters and a double–all with en-suite bathrooms. It is ideal for a large group of friends or a big family gathering.

Blessed is truly a grand yacht both in terms of space and interior design – the main saloon and galley are like a penthouse. The best must be the flybridge, which features a Jacuzzi , a wet bar, 2 refrigerators, 2 ice makers, and a 55” smart TV. With multiple locations for sunbathing or enjoying the shade, this space is designed for ultimate relaxation (and the occasional dance party)!

Blessed’s Toy Garage easily deploys into the water from the hydraulic swim platform , providing effortless access to exciting adventures with the foils, Seabobs, or snorkeling! Or, enjoy a refreshing cocktail on the 10’ inflatable pool deck. Blessed also has SCUBA gear onboard , and Captain Tim happens to be a Dive instructor .

This catamaran is, through and through, a really amazing yacht that easily rivals a motor yacht in terms of luxury.

“Angeleyes on Netflix’s Top 10 Says It All!”

The luxury yacht Angeleyes was recently featured on Netflix’s hit series, The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals , in Episode 3: Boats ‘N Floats. This episode showcases Angeleyes as the “luxury” option, with the hosts highlighting its spacious on-deck master suite, stunning outdoor spaces, and exceptional 5-star service provided by the crew.

With Angeleyes’ extra-wide beam (25’ vs. the usual 18’), the yacht offers unmatched interior space and comfort, making it ideal for groups of couples.

The episode emphasizes the personalized attention from the crew, including gourmet meals by Chef Jenn and unforgettable experiences arranged by Captain Darrel, such as private beach picnics and water sports.

Angeleyes was unanimously voted as the favorite rental by the show’s hosts , cementing its status as a top luxury charter option.

Luxury Motor Yacht on Netflix show World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals

“Vacation of a Lifetime! We just got back from our epic vacation with family and friends aboard the Angeleyes Yacht! The yacht is luxuriously beautiful with its gorgeous interior. The rooms are incredibly spacious, each having its own luxurious bathroom stocked with everything you may need. The outdoor areas provided so many areas to sit and relax, eat meals with a view, or relax in the hot tub overlooking the beautiful blue waters. The staff is beyond amazing! Jen made sure we never went hungry on the table’s ever changing place settings. The food was beyond delicious. From chocolate croissants, pulled pork salads, fish tacos, to Frito pie for these Texans with hungry teenage boys. Remi made sure we were never without an activity to do or a delicious drink in our hands. He is also a very talented “merman” who can find a fish and a turtle anywhere! Darrell is an extremely knowledgeable captain who not only got us to beautiful places to anchor, but also provided us with many jokes that kept us laughing. Some of our highlights…We went snorkeling above a sunken barge and along shoreline where we saw so many colorful fish. We went swimming with sea turtles and also came across a beautiful eagle ray and a puffer fish. Remi took the kids tubing and gave them jet board lessons. Not only did we take advantage of what the ocean had to offer, we also hit up some of the hot spots on the beautiful Islands such as Soggy Dollar, Foxy’s, and The Willy T. Here, we had a blast drinking island cocktails and dancing the night away! My family can’t thank the owners and the crew of Angeleyes Yacht enough for a vacation of our lifetime! ❤️🛥”

With 1 master and 3 VIP cabins accommodating up to 8 guests, she is a great option for a group of friends or a family trip.

“This Yacht has EVERYTHING Luxury + a Very Flexible Cabin Layout!”

There are many reasons why I have selected this yacht as number 1 on the list: At 135 feet and three decks high, it has all the space needed for a big group charter without feeling crowded at all. Plus, she accommodates 12 guests , which is perfect for a big group of friends or two families sharing a luxury charter.

The interior is simply stunning—classic, elegant, and bright . The light wood, white carpets, and chic furniture create a modern, airy vibe, topped off by a gorgeous chandelier that adds a touch of glam.

The cabins are equally impressive. With a master suite, four VIPs, and one twin, there’s plenty of room to spread out and storage space is more than ample–I honestly don’t think you can overpack for this yacht vacation.

The flybridge is fantastic on Stay Salty; there is both a seating area, sunbathing loungers, and a fully equipped bar . There is another bar inside, so you don’t have to walk far for a cocktail.

With a crew of 8, including a masseuse offering massages anywhere on the yacht or even on the beach, you’re in for some serious pampering.

In conclusion, this yacht is absolutely brilliant!

The 55 Bali was great as we were the first paying customers. Beautiful boat with plenty of room. The Captain and first mate were great. Food was top notch and so good that we opted to not do 1 shore dinner and just ate on the boat. We saw and did everything that we set out to see. I would repeat in a heartbeat.

I work as a private chef on board a luxury yacht in the British Virgin Islands. Here's what I make for my guests in a day.

  • Hannah Staddon works as a private chef on Mucho Gusto, a luxury yacht in the British Virgin Islands.
  • With her husband, Dominic Baldzuhn, the yacht's captain, they take guests on weeklong trips.
  • From sushi to wagyu steaks, here's everything Staddon makes for her guests.

Insider Today

This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Hannah Staddon, a 31-year-old private chef who works onboard the Mucho Gusto , a luxury charter in the British Virgin Islands. It has been edited for length and clarity.

I've been in the industry for around 13 years. I started as a yacht stewardess in the Mediterranean. I worked as a stew for about three years before gravitating toward the kitchen.

At one point, a chef I was working with didn't enjoy baking — but I was pretty good at it. That jumpstarted my interest in cooking, and I saved up through another season to put myself through chef's school back in South Africa, where I'm from.

I worked as a crew chef for a 160-foot yacht for a bit, but I realized I didn't even really like crew cooking because they just made food in big batches.

I cooked for 10 to 14 people daily for about four or five months. But I was getting burned out, and I wanted to be creative and make small, beautiful things.

So, my partner and I started looking for a boat together, and we ended up working together on board Mucho Gusto.

It's been seven years, and we haven't looked back.

My day in a nutshell

I get up at about 6 a.m. As soon as I wake up, I start prepping pastries, laying out the tables, and getting our guests coffee.

I usually make a continental spread for breakfast with homemade granola yogurt, fruit plates, and pastries. Then, I'll have a hot option for the day, like eggs benedict or waffles.

I like cooking light and healthy food. So I do spreads, sometimes with homemade focaccia, and then a protein, depending on the guests' preferences.

I also try to source most of my produce from local farmers and fishermen.

Lunches vary between plated salads and buffet-style courses. I whip up homemade ice cream, so there's always a selection available for dessert at lunch.

I start prepping dinner at about 5 p.m. and usually serve it at around 7 p.m.

Depending on how active the guests have been, I may serve a little snack plate before dinner, like some fresh fruits or a charcuterie board.

Related stories

By about 7 p.m., once all the guests have showered and are ready for dinner, I'll have set the table. Dominic, meanwhile, serves sundown cocktails.

Unless guests request a lighter meal, we usually do three courses — starters, mains, and desserts. I've gotten good reviews for my sushi spreads, in particular.

My homemade pasta is also generally a winner.

Sometimes, I make black pepper and truffle pasta with sauteed mushrooms and a big wagyu steak. People go nuts for that, so I must be doing something right.

We have an age limit of 12 on board the yacht. But at that age, many kids still have a limited palate, so food looks like chicken nuggets and chips or pizza all week. They generally only eat maybe two or three different meals.

Generally, mums communicate their preferences to me. So, I ensure that chicken nuggets and chips are stocked on board and heat them 20 minutes before meals.

After dessert, we clean up, stack the dishwasher, and prep for the next day. If I need to make focaccia dough or I'm doing cinnamon buns the next morning, I've got to make all the dough that evening.

After that, I can typically go to bed, which could be any time between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Better than other restaurant jobs

Something I've enjoyed about the job is that I get to be a lot more involved with what's happening outside the kitchen,

If you're confined to working in a kitchen all day, you can feel detached from what happens outside it. And in a restaurant kitchen, you're often making the meal you've been told to make, as opposed to getting to be creative.

That's different on a yacht. I get to understand the guests and build relationships with them. And that's my favorite part of the job.

Alerts in effect, seafarers yacht club.

In 1945, Lewis T. Green made history in Anacostia Park when he created the Seafarers Yacht Club. the oldest African American yacht club in the country. The Yacht Club is still thriving to this day and was an early advocate for stewarding the river.

The Seafarers Yacht Club, organized in 1945 as the Seafarers Boat Club, and is the oldest African American yacht club in the United States. The clubhouse is located on the Anacostia River north of the John Philip Sousa Bridge (Pennsylvania Avenue, SE) and just south of the CSX Railroad bridge (across from the skating rink in Anacostia Park). The Seafarers Club was organized by Lewis T. Green, Sr., a wood carver and vocational arts teacher in the DC Public Schools. Green built boats as a hobby, and in his search for a place to dock one of his boats, he contacted the Department of the Interior about this site. Told that he should establish a boat club, he did so, but waited in vain for a response from the government. Eventually, with the help of Mary McLeod Bethune and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, he was able to rent the land for the club. The site originally was called Green's Boat Yard, and club members improved the marshy land and built docks and a clubhouse.

The club soon developed a commitment to boating safety and community service. In 1965 the club merged with the D.C. Mariners Boat Club. In 1985 the group began the Seafarers Yacht Club Annual Cleanup, which has grown into the annual Anacostia River Cleanup Day held each spring with hundreds of volunteers. Ongoing efforts clean the river continue every year with the hopes of a swimmable Anacostia for all to enjoy.

In Game Description [ edit | edit source ]

As a member of karbyshev's cabinet [ edit | edit source ].

What can be said of Dmitry Timofeyevich Yazov, the protégé to the Black League's founder? Born in a backwater town near Omsk to a peasant family, Dmitry joined the Red Army at the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War at just seventeen. When the Germans caused the complete and utter rout of the Red Army, Dmitry was forced to make his way back to West Siberia and drawn to the new strength of Kaganovich's West Siberian People's Republic.

However, like many military men in West Siberia, a black coal of hate formed in Yazov's heart for the Germans for what they had done to his Motherland. His dedication to the defence of Russia drew the eye of Dmitry Karbyshev, the general who would go on to break with Kaganovich and form the Black League. Dmitry, liking Yazov's intelligence and fanaticism to the cause of saving the motherland, took him in as his personal protégé. This caused Yazov to go with his mentor to Omsk when they finally declared independence from Kaganovich, and he became the right hand man to the older man.

However, Yazov holds nothing but contempt for what he sees now. The people all around Karbyshev only pretend to believe in the cause of the Black League, using their mantle to do whatever the hell they please with Karbyshev too powerless to stop it. He swears to himself that he will make the old man proud, that Karbyshev's dream of a final Great Trial with the Germans defeated once and for all. After all, he is Dmitry Yazov, and he will make sure his mentor's work was not in vain.

In Game Biography 1960s [ edit | edit source ]

Dmitry Timofeyevich Yazov is part of a new generation of post-Soviet leaders: those born after the rise of Lenin, with no memories of the Tsar or the Great War. They knew hardship as children, but were told that this hardship was a necessary sacrifice for the Motherland's survival. When the Nazis came swarming from the west, they fought on the front lines under the Red Army, witnessing hell on earth and suffering bitter defeat again and again. When the Great Patriotic War was over, what little happiness they had in their former lives was taken from them by the victorious Germans. The West Russian Revolutionary Front's military failures and subsequent collapse in the 1950s only made men like Yazov more set in their ways: the old Soviet commanders had fervor, but the leadership desperately needed some fresh blood. Younger men, harder men, those who were taught from birth about the value of sacrifice and have witnessed it firsthand. With Comrade Karbyshev having passed before his vision was complete, the burden now falls to his protégé Dmitry Yazov to carry it out. Unlike his former mentor, Yazov has both the will and the stamina to implement it, and is already transforming the entire nation to be ready for a form of total war more destructive than any the world has ever seen. He expects his people to sacrifice everything they have, including their lives, to help achieve revenge against the German menace, and many of them will gladly do so. Nothing, not even the threat of atomic fire, will be enough to deter him from his course, and he frequently boasts that if all Germans and all but one Russian perish in the coming war, it will still be a victory. Omsk is stirring from its slumber, and the world trembles at the thought.

In Game Biography 1970s [ edit | edit source ]

Dmitry Yazov looks upon his handiwork, a strong and hard Russia preparing eagerly for revenge, and smiles pridefully.

Yazov and his comrades had known hardship as children; they were told that the hardship was a necessary sacrifice for the Motherland's survival. But failures of the Great Patriotic War and the West Russian War first broke the minds of Yazov and his ilk, as they realized how futile it had all been. Then it led them to conclude that the leadership of the Russian people needed to be in the hands of young, hard men who had been taught well about sacrifice and knew it firsthand.

Comrade General Karbyshev, founder of the Black League, suffered death and was buried before his vision was complete; it fell, therefore, to his protégé Dmitry Yazov to carry that vision out. After subjugating West Siberia, defeating the liberal and old guard insurgency to secure his rule, and unifying the whole of Russia, Yazov was freed to begin his master work: that of transitioning all Russia into a state of readiness for a form of total war more destructive than any seen before.

Yazov now expects his people to sacrifice everything they have - even their lives - to achieve total revenge against the German menace, and more and more of them are willing to do so. Nothing, not even the threat of thermonuclear hellfire destroying civilization itself, will be enough to deter him from his course. Indeed, Yazov frequently boasts that if no Germans and only one Russian survive the coming Great Trial, it will still be a total victory.

The Great Trial approaches, and Yazov smirks as the opportunity for his revenge upon those that raped his homeland comes ever closer.

And "the lamps are going out all over Eurasia; we shall never see them lit again in our life-time."

Biography [ edit | edit source ]

Early life [ edit | edit source ].

Yazov was evacuated by Bukharin's USSR into Omsk prior to their capitulation during the Second World War. Experiencing deep sorrow and hate after witnessing Russia's destruction, he would grow up with his ambition to take revenge against the invading Germans.

Dmitry Karbyshev, which had escaped from Mauthausen concentration camp, oversaw the collapse of the West Russian Revolutionary Front, moved back to Omsk, where he established the Black League, taking Yazov under his wing. The Black League's thesis is a third confrontation with Germany, what they call the Great Trial. To be sure that his successors will always be prepared for it, Karbyshev created Plan Hydra, a precise line of succession, in case he dies.

However, Yazov grew to follow the vision of the Great Trial in mind, and so did his fellow officers. Fueled by hatred of the Germans, he believed making the Great Trial merely a defensive war would be an injustice to all the lives lost by their hands. As Karbyshev's health declines, and with him as the chosen successor, it is only a matter of time before the Great Trial becomes the day when Germany will feel Russia's total revenge.

Post West Siberian Unification [ edit | edit source ]

After the unification of West Siberia in game, Pavel Batov, will launch his resistance against Yazov, seeing him as a psychopath who wants to destroy the world.

Trivia [ edit | edit source ]

  • After unifying Russia, the player has a 5% chance of getting a sunglasses version of Yazov's post unification portrait.
  • In OTL, Yazov was the Soviet Minister of Defense from 1987 to 1991. Yazov served in command of the Soviet Nukes in the Cuban Missile Crisis. He didn't want to destroy the world and Germany in OTL, but he was a brutal general, as he put down an Azerbaijani Revolt against the USSR, and a Baltic one before the dissolution of the USSR.
