Marsa showcases a sleek exterior from the drawing board of British designer Tim Heywood. The owner opted for a distinctive two-tone paint job, with the hull, curves, and arches finished in Whisper Gray and the windbreakers decked out in dark gray.

Penned by U.K. firm Winch Design, the elegant interiors were designed with long expeditions in mind. (The owner intends to spend extended periods at sea, exploring the Mediterranean and beyond.) The sprawling living quarters, which can be navigated via a four-deck elevator, include cabins for up to 12 guests and space for lounging, entertaining, and working. The owner also decided to add a balcony to the main deck and an outdoor bar to every level because alfresco cocktails are always welcome after the nine-to-five slog.

As for cruising, Marsa is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that enables her to travel some 4,500 nautical miles at 15.5 knots. In other words, the yacht could travel from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to the U.S. (4,042 nautical miles) with no problems. She’ll release fewer emissions than a traditional gas-powered vessel, too.

“For me, again I say this is the most beautiful yacht we’ve made, but I seem to say that with every delivery,” Oomkens added.

Marsa will now embark upon her maiden voyage, following a private itinerary created by her owner.

The 62.5m/205'1" motor yacht 'Stardust' was built by Amels in the Netherlands at their Vissingen shipyard. Her interior is styled by Italian designer design house Laura Sessa Romboli and she was delivered to her owner in November 2020. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Tim Heywood Design.

Stardust has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising two VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

74m Amels 242 M&EM Delivered to Owner

Leading Dutch shipyard Amels has announced that the 74m superyacht ‘M&EM’ from the successful Amels 242 series has been delivered to her new owner.

Stemming from the popular Amels 242 design, this brand-new 74m delivery marks yet another triumph for the Amels Limited Editions, as the seventh yacht from the bespoke 242 series. 

Featuring an unmistakable exterior design from yachting design legend Tim Heywood, M&EM, previously known as Amels 24207, is a stunning addition to the Amels fleet. Adorned with a unique glossy blue hull, white superstructure and sweeping large glass windows, the new 74m is a truly stand-out vessel, first revealed to the world at her launch earlier this year. 

Damen Yachting completed the naval architecture for M&EM, and, like all Amels Limited Editions, has ensured that the new yacht has been designed to deliver ‘ocean-going performance’, alongside an, ‘excellent onboard experience’. M&EM features several of the latest Amels innovations and exceptional features including a dedicated owners deck with a forward-facing stateroom providing incredible views during cruising. A large swimming pool at the aft deck, a foredeck jacuzzi and an increased capacity helicopter deck are also fitted onboard. M&EM is also equipped with the latest IMO Tier III clean emissions power and propulsion package. 

Inside, M&EM boasts custom interiors by renowned British interior design studio Winch Design ; completing the impressive design team. The owner was represented throughout the build process by Imperial. 

A gross tonnage of 1,790, allows this Amels 242 to accommodate 12 guests in six luxurious cabins, alongside 19 crew plus Captain. 

The Project Manager for M&EM, Peter Dijkwel, commented on her delivery: ‘We are delighted to be handing over this beautiful yacht to her Owners. A milestone which has been made possible thanks to the excellent collaboration between all parties involved and we look forward to following her next chapter.’

As the seventh Amels 242 begins her maiden voyage, we eagerly anticipate more news about the construction of the eighth yacht from the same series, who is expected to be delivered in Spring 2024.

First Amels 200 superyacht Stella M delivered

The first 60 metre Limited Editions Amels 200 superyacht has been delivered to her owners and named Stella M.

The yacht, which was sold at the end of 2019 with Burgess representing the owners, will now embark on her first cruising season in the Mediterranean.

Amels and Damen Yachting sales manager Jorrit Pilaar, who worked closely with the owners throughout the construction process, said: “We are very proud to hand Stella M over to her owner.”

“It has been a very intense project in challenging times but her delivery, on-time and on-budget, really comes down to the great collaboration between all parties involved."

Key features on board Stella M include a cavernous 1,015GT interior, an eco-friendly hybrid propulsion package and an elevator whisking guests between four decks. Additionally, an air-conditioned gym will sit on the sun deck while full-height windows will flood the owner’s suite with natural light.

“There are many features of this design that bring a smile to my face,” said exterior designer Tim Heywood .

“The many flying buttresses, the complex winding surfaces, the upturned deck ends, the integrated life rafts, the sculptural mast and the complex stern, all form a harmonious design that sits securely in her environment, of which I am extremely proud.”

The customised interior, which includes accommodation for 12 guests and 13 crew, has been penned by Reymond Langton .

Speaking about the interior, Heywood added: “The additional length invested into this design, has only increased her elegance and sophisticated appearance, as well as elevating the functionality of her interior, which is illuminated by enlarged windows.”

Pilaar has also described the launch of the Amels 200 as “particularly special”.

“It is the first of 2021, it is the first Amels 200 and it is confirmation of the successful collaboration we have had with Burgess to ensure we have been able to offer the client fast delivery of an incredible project,” he said.

Stella M’ s captain, Spyros Karalis, has now also revealed the "full-on" itinerary for Stella M's first cruising season in the Mediterranean. "We have plans to cruise the whole Mediterranean starting from Spain and then up to Greece, with France, Italy and all the other islands in between.”

Vessels like Mike Lynch's stricken superyacht are "unsinkable", according to the chief executive of the firm which makes and sells them.

Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, told Sky News there are no flaws with the design and construction of the Bayesian superyacht which capsized in a storm off the coast of Porticello, Sicily, on Monday.

Five bodies were found by divers on Wednesday - taking the number of confirmed dead to six.

The Italian Sea Group also owns the firm that built British tech tycoon Mr Lynch's Bayesian, and Mr Costantino said the vessels "are the safest in the most absolute sense".

"Being the manufacturer of Perini [boats], I know very well how the boats have always been designed and built," he said.

"And as Perini is a sailing ship... sailing ships are renowned to be the safest ever."

He said their structure and keel made them "unsinkable bodies".

Mr Costantino said news of the sinking "put me in a state of sadness on one side and of disbelief on the other".

"This incident sounds like an unbelievable story, both technically and as a fact," he said.

It is understood Italian prosecutors investigating the incident are continuing to hold interviews with the survivors.

On Tuesday they questioned the captain for more than two hours to help reconstruct what happened and provide useful technical details.

Four British inspectors are also in Porticello and have begun a preliminary assessment of events.

It is understood they will look at all relevant aspects of the incident, including the design, stability, and operation of the vessel. They will also examine the effects of the weather conditions experienced.

Twenty-two people were on board the vessel, 15 of whom were rescued - including Briton Charlotte Golunski and her one-year-old daughter Sofia.

Divers will resume efforts on Thursday morning to bring ashore a body they found earlier. One more person remains missing.
