Tropical Islands and seas full of life

The Grenadines are the given name for for islands that sit between (and include) Grenada and St Vincent at the very Southern end of the Caribbean chain. In an area otherwise referred to as the Windward Islands. The region is beautifully diverse. The larger islands are of volcanic origin and rise imposingly from the sea covered in a lush thick green forest. Smaller islands meanwhile can be little more than dried out reefs covered in palm trees that feature amazing, unbroken white sand beaches  wrapping the whole way around them. Its an area renowned for its unspoilt natural beauty. Many of the film sets for the original “Pirates of the  Caribbean” can be found in the area. 

The Grenadines are much less developed than many other areas in the Caribbean and you’ll find real authenticity here. A place where a beach shack remains a literal cobbling together of drift wood manned by a couple of friendly local fishermen. The lack of infrastructure won’t be to everyone’s taste, but for those who want to feel like they’re on a genuine adventure away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life – the Grenadines offer a true paradisaical reprieve.

Transfers: Taxi transfers between airports and the marinas can be arranged by us. Provisioning for Your Catamaran: You can either do your shopping on the day of embarkation or pre-order with onboard delivery. Remember to stock your catamaran before departure , as provisioning can be challenging. The final cleaning package saves you from spending half a day cleaning the catamaran at the end of the rental: between 150 and 400 Euros. Optionally, a professional skipper costs between 190 and 220 euros per day, plus their food. A cook, approximately 180-200 euros per night, takes care of meals and dishes. A refundable deposit of 2000 to 8000 euros is required at the time of embarkation (not cashed). You can reduce this amount with the damage waiver option , which costs between 5% and 7% of the rental amount. At the end of the cruise, you must refill diesel and water: expect 300 to 900 euros per cruise.

Nemovoile acts as a booking agent on behalf of charter companies, which are responsible for the actual rental. Our local knowledge of sailing areas, charter companies, their catamarans, and the region is an asset in ensuring the proper preparation and choice of your catamaran and sailboat rental.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Some 300 miles south of the BVI lie St Vincent and the Grenadines – one of the most beautiful cruising grounds in the world, with 32 islands and cays, and a diversity of terrain, culture and amenities that are rarely seen in one location – and, although the islands lie close together, each has a unique character of its own.

BVI Yacht Charters has worked closely with colleagues in St Vincent & the Grenadines for many years, and one of our staff has more than 30 years experience operating charter yachts there.

The main island of St Vincent has lush terrain with mountains, rain forest, waterfalls that you can swim under, deserted beaches and incredibly friendly people.  The Grenadines, lying on St Vincent’s doorstep, offer some of the finest beaches, snorkeling and diving in the Caribbean, and inter-island sailing distances are short, generally from 1 to 4 hours.

Getting Here

St Vincent has an international airport (airport code SVD) and there are direct flights from New York (JFK), Miami (MIA), Toronto (TOR) and London (LGW).

There are also many direct flights from other major European and North American cities to Barbados (BGI) and from there it’s a short hop across to St Vincent.

When we have our guests’ flight information, we’ll organize a taxi to meet you on arrival and take you to Blue Lagoon Marina, about 20 minutes’ drive.

Blue Lagoon Marina is a full-service marina with a boutique hotel, 3 restaurants and bars, and a provisioning store.
