Keeping the History of powerboat racing alive
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The 40th Annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix is this weekend! Media Officer for Powerboat P1, Lucy Nicandri, says the history of the sport, on the Suncoast, is a lengthy one.
The sport dates back to the late 19th century and over the years lots of memorabilia has been compiled. You can find some it at the The Offshore Vintage Museum at 6003 31st St. East in Bradenton. It’s ran by Throttleman for Atlas Offshore Racing, Ryan Beckley.
