Motor Yacht
This yacht is a 51-metre full-displacement, long range vessel with a steel, round-bilge hull-form and aluminium superstructure. The contract was signed in December 2010. This yacht offers some unique features, including a 70 square metre gymnasium that is located forward on the main deck - the traditional home of the master suite.
Frank Laupman, from Omega Architects, who designed the exterior lines, comments: “My design for Heesen project 16551 is the logical development in design language following after our lines for ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘SKY’. We allocated a considerable amount of space to the exterior decks, within a functional layout utilizing an orthogonal set-up and structure. The plan is strongly rational with an interesting inside-outside relationship.”
YN 16551 accommodates 12 guests in five cabins, comprising two twins (each with an additional Pullman berth) and two doubles located on the lower deck and the owner’s suite located aft on the bridge deck, where it has exclusive access to the open deck and its Jacuzzi. The sun deck is partially shaded and enclosed by rounded windows on its forward side to protect it from the wind. Here, the owner and his guests can enjoy an alfresco dinner, or lounge on the sunbathing area on the aft portion that surrounds a further massive rectangular Jacuzzi.
The yacht will be powered by a pair of MTU 12V4000 M53 diesels driving twin propellers, which will power it to a maximum speed of 15,6 knots.
The Owner has appointed New York based architectural studio Mojo Stumer, which collaborated with Heesen on the interior design of M.Y. Sky, the award-winning 50-metre presented at the latest Monaco Yacht Show.

MY SKY has space for up to twelve guests in five cabins. The owner has a full-beam suite forward on the main deck. Also, forwardly located is a touch-and-go helipad. If it’s not in use, so it’s a large sunbathing area.
Guests will enjoy life at sea both inside and on deck: The main saloon aft, with its large circular dining table, lounge and bar area with a 6 square meters LED screen connects to the main deck aft, which features built-in settees and seats around two low coffee tables for optimum relaxation. The upper deck lounge, with its 270-degree view and stunning rotating, circular, white leather seating area, opens onto the aft terrace, accommodating a large dining table ideal for entertainment and al fresco dining under the stars, even under way. Above, the Sundeck’s large Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads, is perfect for recreation, rest, and repose.

Heesen launches 51m motor yacht My SkyHeesen has announced that YN 16551, christened My Sky , was launched on January 31st at their facility in Oss. My Sky is a 51m full-displacement long-range motor yacht of 660GT with a range of 5,400Nm at 10 knots. Her bold but sleek exterior is due to Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Flush mounted tinted windows thermo bonded to the superstructure create a continuous wall of glass that gives this vessel a very distinctive look. World-renowned architect Erick van Egeraat designed the ultra-contemporary interior, combining crisp white leather with dark high-gloss Makassar wood and natural stone inlays. Accommodating 12 guests in five cabins, My Sky features a spacious full beam master suite on the main deck forward and boasts a large bathroom including a full natural stone clad steam shower and a spacious walk-in closet. The four guest cabins are located on the lower deck. The main saloon aft, with its large circular dining, lounge and bar area, connects to the main deck aft. The upper deck lounge, with its 270-degree views and circular seating area, opens onto the aft terrace, accommodating a large dining table ideal for al fresco dining. Heesen Launches 51-Meter My Sky Yacht Heesen announces that it launched a custom 51-meter yacht named My Sky at their Oss facility on January 31st. The motor yacht reportedly a range of 5,400 nautical miles at 10 knots. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects is responsible for an exterior that has been described as "sleek." My Sky has unique qualities, including a continuous wall of glass created by flush mounted tinted windows built into the superstructure. My Sky has five different areas for guests to enjoy. The main saloon aft features a bar and lounge area and a circular dining table. The sundeck has a Jacuzzi and several sun pads where guests can relax comfortable. She even has a helicopter pad located at the bridge. When not needed for vehicles, the owner can convert the pad into a sun terrace that offers plenty of privacy. My Sky's interior spaces were designed by Erick van Egeraat. The interior has an ultra-contemporary styling with contrasting lights and darks. Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, told Sky News there are no flaws with the design and construction of the Bayesian superyacht which capsized in a storm off the coast of Porticello, Sicily, on Monday. Five bodies were found by divers on Wednesday - taking the number of confirmed dead to six. The Italian Sea Group also owns the firm that built British tech tycoon Mr Lynch's Bayesian, and Mr Costantino said the vessels "are the safest in the most absolute sense".  "Being the manufacturer of Perini [boats], I know very well how the boats have always been designed and built," he said. "And as Perini is a sailing ship... sailing ships are renowned to be the safest ever." He said their structure and keel made them "unsinkable bodies". "This incident sounds like an unbelievable story, both technically and as a fact," he said. It is understood Italian prosecutors investigating the incident are continuing to hold interviews with the survivors.  On Tuesday they questioned the captain for more than two hours to help reconstruct what happened and provide useful technical details. Four British inspectors are also in Porticello and have begun a preliminary assessment of events. It is understood they will look at all relevant aspects of the incident, including the design, stability, and operation of the vessel. They will also examine the effects of the weather conditions experienced. Equipped with eight counter-rotating electric engines powered by super-lightweight batteries and solar panels, the nearly 500-foot-long yacht can traverse the sky (and sea) at 60 knots for more than two days straight with zero emissions. Plus, aside from its full-electric mobility, the air yacht is sustainable in other ways too: It will be built entirely from carbon fiber, which is as high-strength as it is lightweight.  The 500-foot futuristic vessel comprises three main parts: a central compartment with a living room and dining area flanked by two inflatable helium blimps that house 10 suites. Lazzarini’s design looks like something out of the future: a spacious living room and dining area housed within the sky yacht’s central torpedo-shaped structure that’s connected via eight carbon bridges (four on each side) to two 150-foot-long blimps. And the blimps that contain a whopping 14,125,867 cubic feet of helium that keep the vessel high in the sky, flanking the main compartment, aren’t just there to elevate the jet: Between the two, there are 10 guest suites, all of which boast 360-degree views. The two balloon-like compartments on either side of the impressive vessel comprise an inflatable base that allows the innovative machine to float atop the water surface when the owner is in the mood to sail the sea versus the sky. Though being able to choose which medium makes the most sense for specific destinations sounds like an ideal way to travel, the sky yacht is, unfortunately, still quite a ways off from replacing typical ships and planes.  The enormous sky yacht is too big to simply park at a marina while its guests climb aboard, so it comes equipped with a retractable staircase. For the private owner who commissioned the estimated $627,511,500 sky yacht, however, his new mode of transportation is the way of the future. In fact, Lazzarini has promised that a first-scale model prototype will lift into the air later this year, and a collection of slightly varying designs (of different lengths) is currently in the early phases of both engineering and prototyping.
